I want to give a song as a gift but since I purchased it a year ago it is tagged as purchased and will not let me purchase it again?!? It is greyed out and will not allow me to click on the arrow to choose purchase or gift the song. Is there a way around this?

I rented a movie through itunes on my ipad and wanted to watch it with friends on a digital projector, but it wouldn't allow me to do it. Is there any way around this?
The issue was that a dialogue box came up which said that I couldn't play this movie on another device. I tried playing the same movie on an Tv with an HDMI connection attached to an adapter to the IPad and that worked. I wonder if the problem is that the digital projector has a VGA connection.

Help! For some reason i-tunes 12 wont allow users to re-download past purchases all at once like it used to. Is there a way around this? It will only allow you to download what it calls "Recent Purchases" which in my case only would allow 250 items. I know i have at least 700 tracks if not substantially more possibly over 2000 tracks but I can't be sure. I don't know how to find that information, I've looked in itunes under the my account past purchases but id doesn't tell you how many total songs you have purchased or any relevant details. It only shows you small chunks of receipts by date but no total tracks purchased in an easy to view snapshot that I could find. The current support page says that if you have more then 2000 songs the "ALL SONGS" tab now listed above the left pan with all your purchased artists, will change to "Recent Purchases". IF apple changed this on purpose to stop user from downloading there entire library to cut down on bandwidth they have really upset me this time. At present the only way I can download all past purchases is by selecting each artist listed in the left pan one by one selecting the "Download ALL" button at the bottom right corner of the page at which point I have to input my apple password each time, which really slows things down. I have hundreds of artists and if this is the only way for customers to re-download there entire library this is ridiculous and really unnecessary to put customers through this kind hassle just to re-download all there past purchases when the whole idea of i-cloud is to make downloading and using your music simple, quick, and convenient on multiple devices. I know the old saying "your responsible for backing up your data" yeah I know that and I've been doing that for years when no one really should ever have had too. There is no reason a service that sells music digitally should not allow customers to be able to re download content purchased on there service regardless of the fact that people should just back up anyway as an extra precaution. Well sometimes backups fail like in my case and I have to re-download. No wonder paid subscription plans are so popular. You don't have to deal with any of these issues. I can only hope this is some kind of oversight by apple and will be fixed soon. Can anyone offer a quicker solution or any information about this issue? I would greatly appreciate any helpful assistance.

- Within "My Music", select all the songs you need to download (all w/ the cloud icon - use Shift-Click)
- Right click and select download
All songs will begin downloading from iCloud -

You can transfer music imported from cd's to your iphone. This has never been a restriction.

When you move to Portugal (very nice, I've just come back from visiting Cascais/Sintra/Sines ) I think you'll just get re-directed to Portuguese iTunes. When I moved to France from the UK I got re-directed to the French store.
To view UK programmes in France I used to subscribe to a VPN server through https://www.my-private-network.co.uk/ (there are others, but very pleased with their service). The catch-up channels (iPlayer, etc) think you're in the UK so you can watch the programmes online. Wouldn't work with iTunes UK store though . -
2.0 says it will delete ALL files on my Touch?!? is there a way around this
I took the plunge and went on Itunes to get 2.0 and AFTER paying, a prompt tells me downloading to my touch will clear out all my music video etc...is there a way around this and if not, can I 'return' 2.0, because there is NO WAY I feel like losing all my accumulated music!
I know first hand the importance of backing up my library. I once lost my entire library and had no back up. So I most certainly do that. I would suggest all of you do that in the future. However, if you have not done so and you intend to install the new 2.0 update. Then, I would suggest you buy some 3rd party software that can back up your data for you. I purchased some time ago iGadget formerly known as Ipod Agent. They have made the software capable of working with the Ipod Touch now. But you will still need either a location on your local computer or an external drive or a DVD or two if your library is too large for a CD to backup the library onto. iGadget will copy all of the songs (I don't know about the other settings i.e. calendar, email I have never used my ipod for those things) from your IPOD to a location you desire and or to your library. Then when you are ready you can repopulate the library with the back up. I too ran into this issue last night, right before I was about to install the update. I got that message about losing all of my music and other settings. I rushed and found a blank DVD and burned my library onto it before continuing with the update. ITunes has a back up feature that will allow you to back up your library. If your library doesn't have all the same songs that you iPod does then you will have to purchase software that will backup the iPod.

Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me. Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

I have an iMac with a 10.4.11 operating system. When I click on iTunes Store, I no longer get the iTunes screen, instead, I get a new iTunes download screen.
I can't download the new iTunes without upgrading my operating system. Is there a way around this problem without buying the new operating system?

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

Do not regard your i-device as a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up. -
Have the oldest ipod touch. . daughter forgot password to enable it. It's now been disabled for 22K minutes. I'm trying to reset as a new device, but iTunes is telling me it can't do anything w/it b/c it's "disabled". Does anyone know a way around this?

Did you recently deauthorize a bunch of computers? You can only deauthorize all once year.
