I would like to record music directly off my amplifier onto my iPod touch 4th gen.
I would like to learn how to record onto my iPod 4th gen 64GB directly from my amplifier. Seems like it should be easy to do. anybody got any tips?

You need a cable that goes from your amp to the mic input that is in headphone jack. Note you can only get mono. Yoo have to get the headphone end that is specifically made to record an iPhone/iPad/iPod.

How to transfer music received from home sharing onto my ipod touch, 4th gen?
I've recently upgraded to itunes 11. I homeshared some songs from my sister, she did the same and it worked with her (she has an iphone 4) The songs are appearing in my music library but not under the tab 'on this ipod'. I have started to erase and sync hoping that that will add the new songs.

If anyone else is having this problem where the 'add music' or 'sync music' button is not appearing in itunes and as long as the music is in the main library in itunes. Simply erase and sync. Nearly had a heart attack when itunes said it was downloading only a total of 299 songs, but it has corrected itself and I'm not happy! -
Music and Videos are gone after charging Ipod Touch 4th gen battery
The battery had completly died on my Ipod touch. Once it was fully charged, I unplugged it from the wall and turned it on, but all of my videos and music were gone!! However, my apps and photos were still there as well as my settings. What caused this?
Yes it did come 70% charged but I charged it, then drained it to charge it from 0% to 100%
the problem is from 0% it took 1 hour and 4 minutes 43 seconds to be fully charged to 100%
This doesn't seem normal as apple says it takes 4 hours. -

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -
after updating iOS on my iPod touch 4th gen my Philips speaker dock DC290B/37 no longer charges the iPod. It will play music but not charge, is there anyway to find out if Apple is working on an update/fix?

I upgraded my iPod Touch 4th Gen yesterday. Now it won't play music, which is the main thing I use it for. Over 11,000 songs [it's a 64GB model] -- will I actually have to restore the device and re-add all that music?
[Music files are still there, and I can play them on my computer directly from the iPod [just one track at a time] but not in the usual way, through headphones.]
On the Summary page of iTunes for the iPod, it shows 50-plus gigabytes of "Other" content and no music, which was not previously the case. I assume this is related to the problem.
I can bring up individual tracks on the iPod and see cover art, but cannot play the music.iCloud is free, iTunes match is $25 a year.
I had the same problem and when I went to Settings I had 0 songs, even though they were obviously still there since I only had 15GB free on my 64GB device.

I'm ready to bang my head against the wall! I can put the device in recovery mode, connect to iTunes on my computer, and get it back to the setup screen, but when I go through the process again and try to do an iCloud backup I get the same reset/restore loop.
I could start from scratch, but I really, really, really don't want to go through all of my hundreds of apps, reinstall them one by one, etc. etc. etc.
I thought that once I started using iCloud, I didn't need to sync with iTunes anymore--guess I was wrong. -

I have a refurbished ipod touch 4th Gen. I am having problems backing up because the cloud is almost full. I have tried to delete some apps/pics but it won't let me. Do I need to purchase more storage? Also, I accidentally erased all stored music. It is still on my personal computer and I need to know how to get it back on my ipod. You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Your iCloud backup does not include non-iTunes purchases like music from CDs
If on your iPod now:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
You can go to Setting>iCloud>Manage Storage and see what is using the store and delete items from iCloud -

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You can only sync with one computer. I would backup to one computer and then restore from backup.
