I want to sync my iphone 4s contacts into my macbook pro.Help

The first thing you might do is use an internet browser and log in to https://www.icloud.com and see if your contacts made it that far. The following also may have something that will help: Get help using iCloud Contacts - Apple Support

I would like to use my work exchange email on my macbook pro.  But I cannot install it.  I have no problem my work email on my iPhone or iPad.  My work IT person does not know what is wrong.  Why I try to set up the email I get the message that it cannot connect to this server.

Try going into System Prefereces then Mail, Cintacts & Calendars then click on the Microsoft Exchange link on the right. Type in your email address and password and allow it to set it up automatically.
Make sure your Mac is updated to the newest version of Mail.
If that still fails then I suggest you switch email clients. I don't care for the built in mail program. IMHO it is very buggy.

  • How do I transfer my iPhone 4S contacts to my MacBook Pro Adress Book?

What I Want: I want to sync my iPhone 4S contacts into the Address Book on my MacBook Pro.
Problem: Everything else syncs fine, but my contacts.
I have everything under iCloud turned On to sync onto my MacBook Pro, but it doesn't sync the contacts into the Address Book, or at all for that matter.
When I go into System Preferences, then try to choose iCloud(which is not there), I select MobileMe. I never remembered signing up for MobileMe before, but I still tried my icloud username/password with no luck. This is where it's weird. I restarted my laptop, click on MobileMe again and it had me logged in, except I get this error "An error was returned from the server" and I can't choose what to sync because it's all grayed out and unchecked. Does anyone know how to fix this?
P.S. Both devices are fully updated, latest OS and I just did a backup/sync with iTunes a few minutes ago, but same result. I tried it over the WiFi and hardwired.

I would sign out again, then update your Mac (latest version, not 10.7.3 as shown in your signature), open "Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and then choose iCloud and sign in again. I would also do the same on your iOS device (sign out and in). Make sure to confirm the message when you will be asked to merge the contacts with iCloud.

  • I have an external hard drive and I would like to transfer the information on it to my macbook pro

I have just received a Macbook pro for Christmas and I am trying to transfer info from an external hard drive to my mac but I am totally clueless. Please help!!

You can use Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant to migrate from the old computer's backup disk to the new computer. If you use Setup Assistant, that would be when you first power on the new computer and it will create user accounts on the new computer to match the old one and migrate files and programs (at last the ones that will run on the new computer) from your backup to the new computer.
Migration Assistant is similar but is run after you have the new computer up and running (e.g. you didn't run Setup assistant on the very first power up).
P.S. This is exactly what I did for our Macbook Air, obtained in 2011, to get it set up with everyting from an older (2008) iMac. I ran Setup Assistamt with the Time Machine backup from the old computer connected via USB to the Macbook Air. All the proprietary software (MS-Office, Adobe Photoshop, etc.) was migrated over without having to re-enter serial numbers and the like, all emails and browser bookmarks were migrated, all user files and settings were migrated, even wireless router ids and passwords. The only thing I had to reinstall was the driver software for a Canon wireless printer/scanner.

  • HT1229 How do I back up my entire iPhoto library to an additional hard drive.  I have a WD 1TB hard drive which I would like to use as a backup drive to my MacBook Pro.  What steps do I take to do this.  Thank you

How do I back up myentire iPhoto library to an an additional hard drive,  I have a WD My Book 1TB hooked up to my MacBook Pro via USB 2 port.

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

  • I just received a Macbook Pro. My music is on my iPad and I would like to move it and the playlists to the Macbook Pro.

How can I move my iTunes library, all songs and playlists, from my iPad to my new Macbook Pro?

You might want to try this solution, though it is not a free solution and performance can lag depending on your network and connection:
There is an app called Air Display.  It allows your macbook laptop (or iPad) to connect to your iMac for use of the display.  The Air Display software can be used via a wireless connection, but this setup is slower than the option of connecting both computers via ethernet wired connection for better performance. I believe there are other apps that may do the same thing.
    Things to watch out for:
Make sure you read the reviews and contact the developer with any questions to avoid confusion.
Make sure the app allows the laptop screen to be viewed on the iMac. Ask the developer or google for an answer.
Disclosure: I do not work for the company or benefit in any financial way from this suggestion.  I have never used the app, but from what I have read on the web, via ethernet, performance is acceptable...within limitations.
    Good luck.

  • How can I sync my iPhone 4S contacts to my Macbook Pro?

I just bought the iPhone 4S. I want to sync my contacts from the iPhone to my Macbook. However, I already sync someone else's iPhone to my macbook. How can I assure that these two different list of contacts do not merge? Thank You!

As your MacBook only has one Address Book, you're going to end up with merged contacts if you sync two devices (whether you sync with iTunes or iCloud).  About all you could do is set up two contact groups within Address Book to allow separate views of the merged contact list.  Disable contacting in iTunes and sync your contacts with another service if you want them to be separate (such as Google sync http://support.google.com/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740).

  • HT201328 i would like to unlock my iPhone to use in my country (turkey) when i go to vacation to turkey how can i gec my unlock code?

         Dear Apple ,
my name is elif gunaydin. i have iphone since you made iphones.. i have all apple produckts at home. I live in Usa / new jersey... i would like to use my iphone in my country (turkey) when i go to vacation. i go to turkey every summer for 3 mounths.. i had big problems to use cellphones last year in turkey. i had iphone last year too but i could not use it in there. if i would have unlock code i would be able to get some turkish company's sim card and it would be ready to use..
please , help me.. i dont want to have any cellphone problems in turkey this summer again. it is really hurting me that my iphone 5 is staying in my bag because i can not use.i will fly to turkey soon and i will come back on september so i really need my iphone 5 in there...
i would be so so so much happy if you send me unlock code for my iphone.. thank you so much ..

There is no such thing as an "unlock code" for an iPhone. Contact the carrier the phone is locked to and find out what their policy is for unlocking. The SIM slot on the Verizon iPhone 5 is already unlocked.
Sprint will only unlock the SIM slot for international use for current Sprint customers in good standing.
AT&T will unlock iPhones purchased as no-commitment phones with proof of purchase from Apple or AT&T or for customers who have completed their contract or paid the early termination fee.
    T-Mobile phones are already unlocked.
The other US carriers do not offer unlocking for iPhones.

  • I would like to get my iphone 4 unlocked. Whom should i contact in India?

i would like to get my iphone 4 unlocked. Whom should i contact in India? I have already updated the software to ios 6.0 through itunes but need to get unlocked.
Also i would like to reactivate my old iphone 3gs, but unable to operate it. I am getting a message on screen saying that the server is temporarily unavailable. whom should i contact to get it back into normal working condition, i have already unlocked it in my country as it was brought from UK.

"Whom should i contact in India? I have already "
ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can unlock it.  Contact that carrier and ask if they offer this service and if you qualify.

  • I am an exchange student for the year and I would like to by an iphone that i can use in France also, so I need an unlocked one but i don't want to pay to much for it... What should I do?

I am an exchange student for the year and I would like to by an iphone that i can use in France also, so I need an unlocked one but i don't want to pay to much for it... What should I do?

What do you mean what should you do?  Just because you don't want to pay too much for a phone, doesn't make the price any cheaper.  If you can't afford the price of an unlocked phone, then you don't, or can't, buy one.

  • I would like to buy an iPhone for my friend in Iceland.  Two questions: will the phone work with complete utility in Iceland, and if so, what should I do to confirgure it while in the USA so that it can have full utility in Iceland?

I would like to buy an iPhone for my friend in Iceland.  Two questions: will the phone work with complete utility in Iceland, and if so, what should I do to confirgure it while in the USA so that it can have full utility in Iceland?

Bad idea. There are no supported iPhone carriers in Iceland, thus some features may or may not work. Further, there will be no warranty or support for a US purchased iPhone in Iceland...your friend will be on their own. If you still want to go down this road, make sure you purchase an officially unlocked iPhone(GSM model) directly from Apple.
