ICal opens but then basically freezes, can't see calendars
A couple of weeks ago my To Do items just disappeared but I made do.
Two days ago my List of calendars disappeared, I can't see them at all.
Now after about 10 seconds after opening, I can't select anything and all I see is my appointments. iCal just freezes and I have to force quit.
I'm running Leopard on a 2 month old Macbook, can't figure it out.
Does anyone have a solution?
I am having more or less the same problem. iCal continues to run but the calendar window freezes.
I use TimeMachine to restore the Library/Calendar folder from a previous day and try to reconstruct the entries from memory. It seems to work after that. But this has happened three days in a row.
Syncing seems to have ceased working effectively, too. When I plug in my iPhone, it says its updating but there is no attempt to reconcile differences and iCal and the iPhone calendar do not agree.

iPhoto opens but then the spinning rainbow wheel appears and I can't do anything. I have opend iPhoto with the Option key pressed and rebuilt the library and it still happens. I want to at least access my photos and copy them to an external drive. Anyone have ideas on how to get to them?
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

when i click on an excel or word file in 2007 the program begins to open but then an error message says There was a problem sending the command to the program.
i am using office2007 with windows7 premium home edition. i have checked file associations., all DDE settings. i have even tried this in safe mode. the same thing happens. please note once i see the error. i can then go back to the file click on
it a second time and it WILL open. AND i can open any file if i open excel and and find the file from there. i uninstalled and re-installed office 2007 from scratch. And i checked the compatibility mode (all un-checked) still the problem persisits. this is

Have you try to un-select the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) setting?
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options.
Click Advanced, and then click to clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)
check box in the General area.
Click OK.
If the problem cannot resolve, the Run as administrator may selected.
Go to Office default install location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12.
Right-click EXCEL.EXE > Properties >
Compatibility tab.
Under Privilege Level, uncheck Run this program as an administrator
check box.

My itunes opens but then then when i hover the mouse on the itunes window there is just a blue circle
Hold the shift key upon boot, that will disable any boot loading third party kernel extension files.
Once you get in:
1: backup your user file folders to a external storage drive
2: go around and update all your third party software everywhere, including right clicking on third party system preference panes and removing them if necessary
3: any third party software that can't be updated, consider removing.
4: Look in your Console log files for "kernal protection" type messages to get a clue what's causing your problems.
Read about Gray, White and Blue, Kernel Panics here, they are usually always caused by third party software incompatibilities, but not always.

My iphoto is opening but then it has that gray spinning wheel and nothing ever changes?

What version of iPhoto? Assuming it's 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I have a big problem, I don't know what I touched but when I open up my iTunes I can't see all the icons. The only icons showing are "podcast, iTunes U and Downloads" so in other words I can't find the movies, music etc. Which means I can't buy/rent!

Safari tries repeatedly to open a page. The page partially opens but then Safari reports that there's something wrong with page and I get an error message. This is happening at too many web sites for one site to be having issues.
I have a similar problem, Safari cannot load a complet page. It stalls e.g. ["38 of 42"]. sometimes it will complete loading after a long wait. just as often it will never complete the page,
The same thing happens in chrome and firefox but safari on my iPad works just fine.
I have the latest version of everything

Since upgrading to Firefox 3.6.6 my bookmarks will not stay open, when I click on the bookmarks icon on the toolbar my list opens up but then disapears again with in about 10 seconds.... i.e, not enough time for me to chose which site I want to open. I've tried deleting cookies, temp. files and I even tried a complete re-install of Firefox but I'm still getting the same problem.... Any ideas please?

Launch Safari while holding a Shift key - this will start Safari with just your Home page
If you can see Reset Safari from the Safari menu, try that.
In addition to downloading and installing Safari again, try reapplying just the Snow Leopard Combo Update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 There is no need to uninstall Safari first.
Lastly try deleting Safari's Preferences file: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist -
Problem with accessing lighting effects in cc and cs6. In cc programme freezes and then window appears saying amd driver stopped working but is now ok but cc still frozen. Tried opening in cs6 no problem with driver but just default spotlight appears and then programme freezes. Any suggestions.

Photoshop cc opens but then freezes!
When I run Photoshop cc it opens but once open it freezes. This is the 64bit version on Windows Vusta proffesional. I can not even quit out of it using the task manager so I have to re-start. All the other cc applications seem to be fine it is just Photoshop. The old version of Photoshop cs5 also seems to be working fine. Any ideas would be welcome. I tried the resetting mt preferences in CC by signing out and back in but this did not solve the problem.
I had my CS3 freezing this morning on startup.
What helped me was restarting Photoshop with the internet cable pulled out.
Apperently it was freezing on the registerscreen, and by removing the internet cable I surpassed that screen, to see another screen.
after that i could start it up again with the internet cable plugged in again. -
When I tap on my Facebook App on my IPad it tries to open up but then it goes right back to my home page and will not open up. All my other Apps work ok.How can I fix this ?
Try deleting the Facebook App and reinstalling it.

Take too much time to convert QT movie to iPod format
Hi, I got QuickTime Pro and was able to convert avi format home video to iPod (mpg4). But for a 30 minutes movie, it took more than 8 hours to convert (From avi to mpg4) and QT consume 90% CPU all the time. Is there something wrong with my settings?
