ICal Reporting and/or export to reporting tool

I'd like to get a report of iCal entries either directly from iCal OR by exporting iCal entries to another tool (Word, Excel, etc.). Is there some way to do that? Thanks, mdh

I would like to know this answer. Could someone help..

  • BW (BEx) and BOBJ Reporting-Tools

    Hi All,
I'm looking for an article or anything, that describes the difference between SAP BW (BEx) and Business Objects- Reporting tools .
which tools is suitable for what purpose?
    thanks
    brad

This isn't mine - it may even be yours - but just in case anyone looks at this thread, here it is
    BO vs BEx
    Ease of use:
BO - Very user friendly interface, Minimal requirement for MDX code, Some queries take more time in BO analysis, when compared to BEx Analyzer
BEx - Difficult self service reporting and analytics, Being Excel based, it needs extensive VBA or Macro programming for a great UI
    Features:
BO - Export functionality (PDF, MSOffice etc), More chart types, Has more advanced features, Design and Preview Tab in the same page, Provides offline capabilities
BEx - Is mostly for SAP only but With integration can access BEx query from BO, Web App Designer is effort intensive, Build and preview are separate views
    Support from SAP:
BO - Part of SAP integration roadmap, All current and future dev. in the BI front-end is focused on the SAP BO BI solutions, Crystal Reports is now main reporting tool, replacing BEx Report Designer
BEx - BEx is no longer the strategic direction, BEx product line will be phased out completely by 2016
    Compatibility with other data source:
BO - Able to merge data from various sources in the same report, Can connect to any Database, very flexible in design
BEx - Gets data from BI
    Implementation effort and ownership cost:
BO - Longer deployment period compared to BEx, Additional server needed, May require additional components setup for BW, May need separate license for Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) platform, BO uses OLEDB for OLAP API via BEx query, may cause an overhead, BW Accelerator may be needed to improve query response time, scalability and visibility.
BEx - Only MS office and BEx client are needed for installation, BEx is bundled with NetWeaver

  • Reporting tools and SAP BW

    Dear Sirs,
We have Business Objects BI 4.0 and SAP BW 7.3.
Actually we are using Web Intelligence and BEx Query to reporting.
We have not Business Layer (Universe) between BW and BO because BO it's not supported to create universe (unx) on BW. So we create document in WEBI using BEx Query.
We want to use Xcelsius (Dashboard Design) 2011 and I was thinking that we can use query from universe to connect with BW (new functionality in version 2011). Can we? Or maybe we should to connect to BW using "Connecttion to SAP BW"?
We want to use Explorer (on iPad and iPhone), but Explorer requires universe (unx).
Is not possible to create universe (unx, because unv is not supported via Explorer) based on SAP BW, is it true?
We should we do, when we want to use Explorer with SAP BW?
Do I understand connection between reporting tools and SAP BW:
Crystal Reports - can I use cubes or BEx queries
Xcelsius - using "Connection to SAP BW"
WEBI - BExqueries or universe (but only UNV - old version).
Explorer - in my opinion is not possible
Analysis for OLAP - drirect to cube in SAP BW
    Could you please comment.

    Hi
With the current version of the BI 4.0 SP2 BI Platform, one cannot create a universe (.UNX format) against BW using the OLAP connection. However you can create a universe (.UNX format) using the Relational connection (see OSS note: 1656905 - How to create UNX universe based on Business Warehourse InfoCubes). One limitation is the use of hierarchies with the relational connection.
Then you can create the Information spaces based on the universe (.UNX format) that the Explorer can use.
    BO Reporting tools:
    1. Crystal Reports for Enterprise = you can use the OLAP connection (BICS) directly against the BW InfoCubes or Queries, if queries already exist in the BW system then you can leverage these directly (less time spent recreating the entire query in Crystal)
    2. Xcelsius = you can use the BICS or Web Service or Universe to access the data
    3. Web Intelligence = you can use the OLAP Connection (BICS)
    4. Explorer = you can use a universe (.UNX format) via a Relational Connection
    5. Analysis for OLAP = you can use the OLAP connection (BICS) to either a query or InfoCube.
It is hoped that in Feature Pack 3 which will be released later this year, that missing functionalities will be delivered for BI 4.0.
    Regards

UPDATE: I had 36 Safari windows open and minimized on the dock from my last session; 20 of those windows failed to open b/c Safari "couldn't find the server"; I just went to the URL bar of all 20 pages and clicked return, and all 20 pages loaded perfectly, without dropping any images or losing formatting. This is a puzzle!!!

  • Report acts funny AND xml-export broken

    Hi @ all,
    1.
My users are experiencing some weird problems: A report is displayed with the pagination showing that there are 59 rows, but the report is empty... only the column headings are shown!
Take a look at the screen shot (2004-07-21_Report-Problem.JPG):
    http://marvel.oracle.com/pls/otn/p?n=3444139716751380138
I've seen this only a couple of times and we thought that we had eliminated the problem by installing a newer version of the IExplorer (6.0). My users had some more difficulties with the older version (mostly 5.0).
Creating this page I used the howto 'Build a master-detail application'. And yes, I'm positive, there are Samples associated with Delivery 11.
Has anyone ever experienced such a thing?? How did you get around it? (especially this being such a sometimes-works-sometimes-doesn't-work phenomenon)
    2.
Another thing: I tried the XML-export (Data Workshop) here in my installation. When I'm at the very end and click Export Data I just get an error message: ORA-04063: has errors ORA-04063: package body "FLOWS_010404.WWV_FLOW_DATALOAD_XML" has errors ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called. (This happens whether the 'Export as file' -checkbox is checked or not!)
I tried exactly the same thing on marvel.oracle.com and got a nice XML-file.     :-)
Has anyone a clue what that program unit is that is not found?
    -David-

    David,
    1. Looks like a pagination problem. Look for threads on resetting pagination on this forum. Your mileage may vary, given the version of HTML DB you are running.
    2. I know you don't want to hear this, but it's time to upgrade to the production version of HTML DB. Like you said, it's working on htmldb.oracle.com. It's tough to say what may be wrong with your setup, other than that it's pre-release software.

  • Line Matrix / Dot Matrix Printers and Reporting Tools

    Hi,
Recently i came across with a P7000 Line Matrix Printer. I need to take out more then 2000 pages at the end on each month.
Previously here people were used to to send printout directly from FoxPro (yes that right!). That time all the reports come out from Line Matrix printer very fast and text are not distorted. And header was still in 'Bold' that remind me old DOS days.
In most of the reporting tools that I used, all the text characters are distorted and the printouts take longer time 'n toner to came out, because they prints in grafix mode.
Please let me know the Reporting tools that could handle/use the the dot matrix printers fonts and styles.

I have worked with Reports 3.0 earlier and that was pretty fast with our dot matrix printer.
AFAIR, you need to use Dot-matrix-happy fonts for the speed to be acceptable.

  • UCM and Reporting Tools

    Hey all,
Wondering if anyone has any info on reporting tools with UCM (apart from Content Tracker).
Has anyone integrated, say, something along the lines of Crystal Reports, or Cognos BI, with UCM? Difficult? Easy?
    Appreciate any info!

    Hi
Another option would be to use Oracle BAM . I have not used it but have heard reviews that it's pretty good and not too complex to set up as well .
Also there is a ready made solution for OBIEE - UCM which again is rich in features.
    Thanks

  • Reporting and Report tools for CCM

Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some suggestions on reporting in CCM. To be a little more specific; for example if a few users complain they are tryin to make outbound calls, and getting a busy signal, is there any reporting tool that I can use to pinpoint the problem or eventually be able to say, hey we need another phone line, etc...
Also. User calls can complains that the calls they are making lack in quality, how do I report on this or research?

In order to determine if there are any records in the Structured Query Language (SQL) database, complete these steps:
Choose Start > Programs > SQL > Enterprise Manager > Microsoft SQL Servers > SQL Server Group.
    Choose Publisher Server > Databases.
Choose CDR > Tables. Right-click the CallDetailRecord table.
Choose Open Table > Return All Rows. Determine if there are any records.
If many records appear, complete this procedure to remove records from ART:
Choose Programs > SQL Server > Query Analyzer. Log in and choose ART database.
    Run these queries:
    delete from Tbl_Load_History
    delete from Tbl_Dump_PkID
    delete from Tbl_Error_Id_Map
    delete from Tbl_Billing_Data
    delete from Tbl_Billing_Error
    delete from Tbl_Dump_CallDetailRecord
    delete from Tbl_Dump_CallDetailRecordDiagnostic
This forces ART to get all the old CDRs into ART in the next scheduled loading time. By default, CDR data is loaded every day from midnight to 5 a.m.
Restart the CDR Insert and DBL Monitor Services from CCM Administration > Application >Cisco CCM Serviceability >Tools > Control Center.
Refer to the How can I manually purge the ART database? section of CallManager Issue Resolution with CDR and ART FAQ for more information.
Note: Information deletes from the ART database but not from the CDR.
Note: If you do not see any records, there are no CDR entries for that time and date range. Determine if conditions are met for CDR generation. CDR records are generated in these circumstances:
The service parameters CdrEnabled and CallDiagnosticsEnabled are set to True.
The call is established and has a talk duration greater than 0.
The call fails and has a cause code that reflects the error.
In order to set the service parameters, choose Service > Service Parameters, and make sure that the service parameters CdrEnabled and CallDiagnosticsEnabled are set to True in all of the Cisco CallManager servers, both publisher and subscriber.

  • ALD API and ALD (Advanced Layout Designer) as a reporting tool for AddOns

    Dear all,
as per SMP "ISVs and VARs can integrate combit's List & Label functionality into any SAP Business One Add-on without additional combit license fees", so am i right it means that LnL (ALD) has an API which allows to manipulate it right from SBO AddOn?
and yes, according to the combit site (e.g., http://www.combit.net/en/page1077.aspx?action=display&articleid=KBTE000662) this really has API.
    so the questions are:
    1. does anybody has any expierence with ALD as a reporting tool for the SBO AddOns (ALD API expierence)?
    2. does anybody has any samples (how to call ALD API from AddOn)?
    3. are there any elearning materials at the SMP regarding ALD API usage from the AddOns?
    4. is ALD API available for the SAP 2005 SP01 as well as SAP 2007 versions?
please comment on this with your point of views and some attitude
    thank you and kind regards,
    A.

    Hi Alexey,
I've got ALD running at sites (2005A SP1).
    1) ALD is certainly more powerful than PLD in terms of presentation and formulas. The only limitation I came across was that you can only have 1 data table in a report (unlike other report writers like Crystal or Reporting Services). Also, working with special lines and serial/batch data in marketing documents is overly complex in my opinion.
    2) There were some samples attached to SAP Notes. I'm afraid my samples would be useless because you'd have to have the same UDFs and my reports are quite site specific.
    3) I've never seen ALD learning material from SAP but there was a decent enough manual that came with the addon.
    4) Not sure. I think you'll need to ask Combit directly.
    Pros:
    a) I particularly like the sound of the API although I haven't had a chance to look at it yet
    b) Some nice built in features like labels and the ability to create layouts for user queries (...PLD is capable of doing this, just not very well )
    c) Software is part of 2007A (ie no additional license fee)
    d) Integrated with SBO
    Cons:
    a) The integration is not perfect (eg if you use the SBO Mailer then report attachments still use the PLD layout and not ALD).
    b) A bit buggy at times (although this was on an early 2005A version)
    c) Formulas use a C++ type syntax which can be confusing for those not used to it though there is a formula builder to help out.
    d) No reports built in. SAP/Combit should be considering having all marketing documents and maybe some other key reports built in as standard.
All things considered, ALD is worth looking at if PLD is not up to the job.
    Hope that helps,
    Owen

  • Limitations of Discoverer compared to Other Reporting tools

    Hi,
I need to evaluate the Pro's and Con's of Oracle Discoverer. Can u please tell me the advantages and disadvantages when compared to Business Objects, Cognos or any other Reporting Tool.
    Thanks, Prasad

    Hey Prasad.
Now there's an open question (ie: which is better, Ford or Chevy).
I'm sure this has been address on this forum before so you might want to perform a search for this subject.
However, dipping my toes in the pool ...
    1. Oracle is pushing Discoverer as an important tool in their repertoire. Future versions will now interface with XML Publisher (now BI Publisher), etc. so it's tightly inter-woven into Oracle. BO, Cognos, etc. are 3rd. party tools and therefore not tightly woven.
    2. If running Oracle Apps, then you can use the BIS views for pre-written views, Disco workbooks, etc. It's simply not practical to try to use BIS without Discoverer.
    3. Newest version of Disco (10g r2) now supports OLAP. Badly ... but it's a start.
    4. Oracle is really pushing the idea of everything being in the database and therefore they are pushing OLAP, DW stuff in the database along with your relational stuff. What this means in tools is that they're strongly pushing Disco with OLAP instead of a customer having to buy hardware, software (ie: Hyperion, Cognos, etc.), people (dbas to manage, software types to program), etc. and exporting your data from the Oracle database to a 3rd. party database to then report on. Again, Disco with OLAP (and someday if actual possible / practical) mixing your OLTP stuff with OLAP stuff.
    5. It's been awhile since I used BO and Cognos so not sure if their newest versions have the same idea of 3 versions (well 2 someday) where you create the report with Plus (or Desktop) and allow users to lightly manipulate (but not create) existing reports using a simple HTML browser (Viewer).
    6. Discoverer is a neat name as it sounds like you're stuttering ...
I'm sure they'll be lots of other reasons stated by others on this board, but if I was betting the farm on where to go, I would go with Discoverer if I had an Oracle installation. It'll cost you - and Oracle is definitely in it for making a buck or two - but if you're in for a penny with Oracle databases, etc., then you're in for a pound and using 3rd party tools that may do the same, less or even a bit more, never appeals to me as Oracle will either catch up and surpass them ... or let's be realistic ... buy them out! Like Microsoft, they've been doing that lately with a spare few billion dollars falling out of Larry's pockets.

  • Flex Reporting Tool

    Hi,
I am using PHP as the server type while the application type is Web App... Can anyone suggest what is the reporting tools used for someone like me? As what I am concerned, there is no such built-in reporting (not charts) tools in Flex. I want a report that can be generated out - (let say from a data grid) to be a PDF file format or even can be exported to excel file with headers and footers.
    Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I do noticed this product earlier but it will only work for Flex 4. This solves the problem for those Flex 4 users. Luckily I just migrated from Flex 3 and I am sure there are still pretty much of them out there who is still seeking for any reporting tool components.

  • JDBC- Reporting Tool

    Hi
I need to know which is the best open source reporting tool to use.. I have come across jasperReport and JfreeReport, if any of u have used any, please suggest which is best and how to go abt it.
    Thanks

To generate a Jasper Report PDF report
    1. Create a JasperReports configuration file config.xml
    2.
Create a JasperDesign from the config file.
    InputStream input=new FileInputStream(new File("c:/input/config.xml"));
    JasperDesign design = JRXmlLoader.load(input);
    3. Create a JaspeReport from JasperDesign.
    JasperReport report = JasperCompileManager.compileReport(design);
    4. Obtain a JDBC connection to retrieve data from the database to create a JasperReport.
    InitialContext initialContext = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource)initialContext.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/DatabaseDS");
    Connection conn = ds.getConnection();
jdbc/DatabaseDS is the jndi for the datasource.
    5. Generate a JasperPrint report from the compiled report design.
    JasperPrint print = JasperFillManager.fillReport(report,
    parameters, conn);
The parameters in the fillReport method consist of the parameter values specified in the <parameter/>
elements of the XML configuration file
    6. The JaspeReport may be exported to a XML, PDF, CSV file. For example, to export to a PDF file:
    OutputStream output=new FileOutputStream(new File("c:/output/JasperReport.pdf"));
    JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdfStream(print, output);

  • Compare reporting tools

    Hi,
Could some one point in the right direction - we are trying to finalize the reporting tool.
We have worked with BI-Publisher(not as dynamic) and Discoverer(formatting a big issue) - trying to find a tool that would overcome the limitations that these 2 tools have.
We want to be able to use Oracle Db, VPD, set client_id using OPD.Net, integrate with web application as key requirements. By same token would like to be able to create dynamic reports which allows a great deal of flexibility. Is there such a reporting tool?
    Any ideas much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi
I'll try and answer your questions.
    1. Xml, Sql(either a view or stored proc) as input
data sourceYou can base an Apex report on a view or mod/plsql procedure, or use xmldb.
    2. support odp.net providerAs I understand it odp.net is a tool used by .net to access Oracle. Apex is a database tool so all the data and code, everything is in the database.
    3. Work with VPD - virtual private database Yes.
    4. single-sign-on, and setting client_identifier on
    connection.Yes
    5. Integrate with existing web application(asp.net
2.0)Not sure what integration you want.
    6. This tool is free right, to be used with Oracle
10g database.Free and can be used with 10g or 9i databases.

  • Reporting Tools

I'm relatively new to BW...I've been supporting it internally for our company for the last year+, but I come from a .NET background.  My questions are in regards to the reporting tools that people use at different implementations.  We use the BEx Analyzer with BW 3.5, but have been relatively disappointed with the user interface and the performance of the queries.  We'll be upgrading to Netweaver BI after the first of the year.
    1.  What other reporting tools (3rd party, web tools, etc.) have people used and how have they performed with BW/BI?
    2.  How much of an improvement, either in performance or the user interface, is there with the upgrade to BI?
    I appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Tony

    1. There are few third party reporting tools you can integrate with BW data like Business Object, Cognos Reporting sofware, Hyperion etc. All are pretty good.
    2. If you are upgrading to BI 7.0, there are lots of new features added to BW/BI reporting tools and one new tool added is Report Designer.
If you are really upgrading to BI 7.0, I don't think you need any third party tools but again it depends on totally what tool you are comfortable with.

    Ashok
