ICal seems to be missing some stuff

I find that iCal might have taken a step back. Notes do not show as a little icon if their included. The sidebar seems to be gone so you have to double click on a cal item to see if there's a note. And there used to be a button that would list all things in the database and you could just look at all items related to a specific calendar. I can't seem to find anything in the help that references this so I'm assuming these features are gone. Not good!

Ahhh, well  you never mentioned that before. You need to contact your friend from whom you purchased the computer. He/She should have any and all install discs for any third-party software included as well as for OS X and the original pre-installed software.
Apple will gladly sell you replacements for any discs that did come with the computer originally, but they will not do anything for you because you purchased the computer used. If it's in warranty still, then you can get any warranty covered things taken care of through AppleCare:

    Hello there, Capricious13.
There are great pointers in the following Knowledge Base article. Depending on where you see the content and where you want to get it to, this should guide you to putting it in the right place:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My "new improved" itunes seems to be missing some key components.  Where is the file button and the others in the upper left corner.

There is no file or other things in the upper left corner.  Not even a place to upgrade in the future.  I talked to a guy in support today and I told him I was missing that stuff and he helped me navigate better but didn't really help me with the missing elements.  Like why is my phone listed under home share sometimes and othertimes it is not.

Right-click a toolbar, untick "menu bar".

I had the same experience. I finally configured the web version of OEM and used it exclusively. It took several weeks to get used to and figure out where all of the stuff I was used to looking at was located. I still perfer the old client based version but you've got to keep up with the times.
    Good luck!

  • Missing some basic functionality

I seem to be missing some basic functionality, like switching to tty1-n using Ctrl+Alt+F1-n.  I can't begin to guess what this is related to, as after several installs I've never experienced that to be missing.  Can anyone point me in the right directions?  Thanks.

Hm.  I don't actually have that file in the policy directory.

  • Missing some notes in notes

I seem to have missing some of my notes. This is on MacPro, iPad and iPhone. They were defaulting to goggle mail but are no where now. Checked with the account and not there. Any help where to look and why this happened.  Thanks, Sylvia

Ok.. the reason I asked is because Notes are synced separately from email in iCloud.
There's a Notes app on both your Mac and iOS devices.

I'm wondering why some of the photos on my iPhone are missing some EXIF information like the date when the photo was taken or the GPS data.
All the photos were taken with the default camera app and were copied to the Mac via iPhoto and Imagecapture. So what happened? Are the EXIF data really LOST?

  • Redownloaded purchased songs are missing some metadata

i bought resently some songs/albums in iTunes in Germany ...
i want have a save back up method for these puchased stuff ... so i tested the redownloading from purchased song over the account and the cloudsymbol both ...
always i end up with files that missing some parts of the metadata thats shown when you click "get info" in a song ...
sometimes the Copyright from the Label is missing ... than i redownloaded again and the copyrightinfo is there but no e-mail adress and purchase date ... some times all three is missing ...
is that a known problem? ... so icloud ist useless for back up because u cant get the original "flawless" purchased file back ...
    have others these problems?

    I have this same problem.

  • LR v1.0 missing some very common EXIF data.

Just like in the beta, LR v1.0 is missing some of the main EXIF information that I see with other programs. I know about the setting to tell LR which EXIF data to show, and it's set to "All," so this isn't the problem.
My Minolta A2 RAW shots, for example, don't show the 35mm equivalent focal length. I find this data VERY useful in my work flow, so I really miss it. It's just too hard to have to constantly calculate this data since my cameras don't all have the same sensor size. I'm also missing quite a bit of the "camera specific" fields such as red-eye mode and some of the metering mode details. All of this info DOES show up in several other programs I've tried.
The EXIF info is clearly there, and it's common enough that other programs "see" it, so why is LR giving me such a limited list? It seems very odd to me that such a mainstream company like Adobe would display so much less of this data than software from several other MUCH smaller companies.
    Thanks,
    Larry

I just read over the instructions and tried Jeffrey's Metadata Viewer "Builder" tool, and it's really nice -- the instruction are clear and the Builder is quite intuitive. A big Thanks to Jeffrey for creating this and to Sid for pointing me to the page.
I was dumb and missed the intruction and creation pages at first, so here are some direct links for other people that may be as slow as I was:
    Instruction page: http://regex.info/blog/2007-02-20/386
    Preset Builder: http://regex.info/Lightroom/Meta/
One note: Jeffrey points out in the instruction page that the 35m Equiv Focal Length is not displaying in LR at the moment for some reason. He said he submitted this bug to Adobe. I wanted to mention this because this was a specific field I wanted to display, but apparently it's not possible to see it in LR at this time.
    Thanks again,
    Larry

  • [SOLVED] Missing some important Mplayer codecs?

    Hi!
I've used 'genkipseudo's PKGBUILD of Mplayer to enable CoreAVC support, but it seems I'm lacking some of the codecs I used to have when I used the normal install of Mplayer. I can no longer play quicktime files in firefox (only sound). For normal playback (not using firefox) WMV doesn't work and some avi's won't play either. I tried to install the win32codecs from aur http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=14946, but that didn't fix the problem.
Can anyone see what codecs I'm missing by looking at the PKGBUILD? I'm still kinda noob so I don't understand compiling completely yet. This is the build I used:

(And is a lack of the correct codecs my actual problem?)

Nope, didn't work. Get this message:
"Cannot find codec matching selected -vo and video format 0x44495658"
Edit: Nvm... I commented out some "tweaks" in my mplayer config file and now everything works as it's supposed to, even quicktime in firefox.
I guess my capabilities are somewhat lower than my eagerness to try new things out.
genkipseudo, thanks for all the help, both here and on mail. Your willingness to help out a noob really exemplifies the spirit of linux and open source.

  • Logic missing some patches

I bought and downloaded Logic Pro. Some of the patches seem to be missing something. Half the notes on the keyboard DO NOT WORK.  Its like all the elements that make up some of the patches did not complete. Of all the sounds in the app, I think I have found about 10 that have this problem. How I fix this. Thanks.

Here is an example of a file that plays 5 notes across the whole 61 note keyboard. Its looking for more files that make up the complete patch.

  • Missing some desktop backgrounds?

I saw a list of 35 additional desktop backgrounds on a couple of sites earlier this month (e.g. http://gizmodo.com/5334061/snow-leopards-35-new-desktop-pictures-feature-nature- fine-art-and-graffiti and http://creativebits.org/inspiration/snowleopard_desktoppictures). I realise that these probably came from the Snow Leopard Beta, which I never got round to downloading, but I seem to be missing several images ("The Starry Night", "Silk" all the Graffiti images and a couple more).
Did something go wrong with my installation or did Apple simply drop some of these images for the retail release?

I don't have those either so i don't think there is anything wrong with your disk or installation. you can just download those images from the site you linked and use them as desktop pictures.

  • New whistles and bells all very nice, but I miss some very basic tools

    Hi,
I have been een LR user since a lon time, and I need to say that I really like the changes to the Development module.
However I could not believe that we now have a bookmaking element, how sad is that while we are still missing some fundamental tools.
I honest can not undertsand why this book stuff has been selected , which professional photographer will ever use this ?
Instead I would like to have seen, utilities to correct perspectives and planes. Yes , the lens corrections can do a lot, but why not a Tilt/Shift feature ?
That would allow use to corrected architectural images (such lines etc.....) without having to bail out and correct it in CS (transformations).
Am I the only one that thinks this way, and just maybe AD will understand that they are spoiling the photographers tool for popularity .

Many "professional" photographers would make use of the the Book module ... I make books for my clients routinely ... mainly wedding albums. I have and use InDesign, it's a wonderful tool ... but frankly, ID is overkill for many photo books. Wedding albums generally use very little text (which is where ID really shines) however, the big problem is ID can't work with RAW files ... by being able to design my albums directly in Lr ... it would save countless hours dealing the the thousands of extra derivative files needed to use ID or other album software ...
Just the time savings of jumping from the Book module to the Develop module to make imediate adjustments to an image that would be instantly updated in the book can save hundres of hours in the course of a year for quite a few folks who earn a living with their photography ...
Lr is not all I want it to be. Nor am I as excifted about some features I don't use as often as others may do. Though I usually won't question those persuits or label them as frivolous. Quite often, too many "professionals" throw out that term and forget they are not the only ones earning an income in the process and that they should show a little more tolerance as development moves forward. There should be room for everyone and acceptance that we all have different needs to accomplish our goals.
