ICloud mail not delivering mail from specific address

I'm having a recurring issue with iCloud mail. Email alerts from my home alarm company are being intercepted on Apple's server side, and are not being delivered to me. I called Apple Support more than a week ago to report this problem, and the representative added the email address to a "white list." This fixed the problem.... for about a week. Now iCloud is up to its old tricks, killing these emails before they get to me. Sounds like an overzealous junk mail algorithm on Apple's server side is mis-identifying this email address as a spam.
And the email is NOT being classified as junk by my computer. It never reaches my computer--it's not in any junk or trash folder on my side.

I use the term "Desktop" to indicate my iMac and my Macbook - the email is actually in my Mailbox on my Macbook. I move it from my Inbox to a folder on icloud. Then it syncs and the email is back in my Inbox.
Sorry my use of the word  "desktop" comes from 25 years managing Windows desktop computers.......

  • TS3899 Mail not getting messages from specific address

I am consistently not receiving emails from a specific address in my Apple Mail inbox, but I have no filters enabled and the emails are not showing up in my spam and trash folders. If I follow directions for retrieving an email header in Gmail, I am able to see the email, but this doesn't correct the problem! This problem seems to have surfaced spontaneously. What is going on?

  • Not receiving emails from specific address

I'm having problems receiving emails from a friend of mine. They can receive my emails from my btinternet.com account ok but all replies to me are never arriving. They can send ok to another of my email addresses. They do not even receive any kind of error notification. How do I resolve this please?

    cirbb wrote:
Thanks. I asked them to send the last reply to both my email addresses. I can see from the email that they are using the correct address so it can't be that. Their ISP is fasthosts. Maybe they've been blacklisted? How can I tell?
    Hi.
Do you have a gmail or hotmail account they can send to ?
Have you checked the spam folder, in case they have ended up there ?
If I may be as bold to say, Fasthosts are not exactly clean in removing spammers. I have reported many to them over the years, and they ignore everything. They don't even reply. I'm afraid it's been noticed :-

The report doesn't say that spamming in the UK is against the law.
Note that I am not saying this is the reason for any emails not being received, but there is a possibility.

  • Group mail not delivered - "Recipient address rejected: Access denied"

Apparently I'm not alone who is having the issue with mails being rejected while the addresses are fully valid.
Specifically, I have a mail distribution group created, with several e-mail addresses configured. The group is properly set to accept mails from the outside of the company.
The emails sent from the company accounts are delivered properly. However, when an email is sent from the outside, it gets "Recipient address rejected: Access denied" error message back. There is no trace of such an email in "message trace".
What helps (others on the forum as well as me) is switching the Domain type in Mail flow / Accepted domains from Authoritative to Internal relay. The emails start to be delivered.
The main reason why I do not want to have ths setup is that when an invalid email address is used, the email apparently keeps going in rounds between servers until the maximum number of hops is reached and then the message that is sent back to the sender
is just that - "554 5.4.6 Too many hops".
Is there any intention to tackle this problem?

    Hi,
The first thing that comes to my mind is the 'Require that all senders are authenticated' setting. Is that setting to found your distribution list? If, try uncheck that.

  • Mail not delivered for 4 hours warning message

I've recently started getting .mac mail bounced back to me from MAIL DELIVERY SUBSYSTEM saying that the message couldn't be delivered for the past 4 hours and would continue trying for 4 days. They never seem to go through.
This only happens with mail to my parents. I can send them mail from a different ISP account, and my husband can send them mail from his .mac account. I have not changed my preferences and neither have they. I would suspect their ISP, except that my husband's .mac mail goes through.
Any idea what the problem might be? Here's the relevant information from the warning message:
    <parents' address>...Deferred:Invalid argument
Warnng: message still undelivered after 4 hours
Will keep trying until message is 4 days old

.Mac outages, problems accessing email (#2): possible fixes
Users are continuing to report (in droves) problems accessing .Mac services -- particularly mail -- over the past few days.
Most reports indicate problems accessing .Mac mail from within various clients, including Mail.app. As such, the best stop-gap solution is to simply use the .Mac webmail interface in most cases
However, some users have also reported problems receiving messages through the webmail interface.
    MacFixIt reader Michael Novelli writes:
"My .mac mail account stopped working yesterday. I can access it online."
    Another reader adds:
"Same issue here with .Mac email. If I look at the Activity Viewer I can see my other email accounts connect and finish but .Mac just hangs with the blue and white candy cane progress bar. .Mac has become so unreliable that I cannot use it as my main account and have chosen another email service."
    MacFixIt reader Jim writes:
"I am also encountering problems accessing .Mac mail with Eudora. Mail is apparently going out using .Mac and Eudora, but the problem is receiving mail."
Tom James reports issues with other areas of .Mac service:
"In addition to the problems accessing .mail via Mail, I had a problem today updating my .mac website. The server consistently refused to make changes to the welcome page even though iWeb organiser reported that the site as amended had been published. Deletion of the site in iWeb and creation of a second site initially did not work either but it n ow appears to have been updated. Perhaps there were delays in implementing changes due to the creaky nature of .Mac servers."
    Possible fixes
Clear caches We've received unconfirmed reports that running the maintenance routines offered by AppleJack can resolve some .Mac connectivity issues -- potentially indicating cache corruption as a cause of problems. Cache cleaning can also be accomplished with tools like Cocktail or Tiger Cache Cleaner.
Just restart In other cases, a simple restart can have a beneficial effect. MacFixIt reader Tracey writes:
"I also experienced the .Mac mail connection problem yesterday utilizing Mail.app Version 2.1.1 (752.3). In my case, after a half an hour of being unable to connect, it finally dawned on me to go back to the basics of troubleshooting. After a reboot, and a subsequent relaunch of Mail.app, my .Mac mail became immediately responsive, and has been working without a glitch ever since (24 hours). It was a pretty simple fix in my case (or a serendipitous coincidence of timing)."

  • Mail not coming in from Gmail

I know there are a zillion discussions dealing with Mavericks email and Gmail (which was all working fine before the upgrade!), but I would like to talk about one very specific show-stopper I am experiencing. That is - new email is often simply not appearing!
I can see the new email at Gmail via the web. I can see it in iOS 7 Mail on my iPhone 5 and iPad 2. I can see it if I use the Airmail application on my Mac. I can see it in the Gmail app on my Nexus 7.
But in Mavericks Mail the new mail is simply not appearing in my Inbox.
Right now I see new mail directly via the web in 3 accounts, but they aren't appearing in  Mavericks Mail.
Because of this I keep returning to Airmail (after all, a guy's gotta check his email), but that application also has its own eccentricities and bugs and until those are worked out I think I would prefer to work in plain old, sedate Mail.
But if new mail doesn't come in what can I do?
I don't have anything customized (like those old Tidbit articles saying to turn this or that Gmail folder on or off). Just standard settings.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Doug

Sue, I'm glad you tried this. I had been considering trying what you did, but after reading your note I finally decided to give up the ghost on Apple Mail. It just got severely broken with Gmail accounts in Mavericks. Mail was never what I would call "robust" to begin with. I hate those very long "database upgrades" when you upgrade your OS. And I've had it completely fail when attempting to restore once from Time Machine, and had to get my data retrieved from my CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner) backup instead. So I feel pretty skeptical about Mail.app now.
I'm sure Applel is aware of it, which is why they released a "fixed" update of Mail. Unfortunately it didn't fix it.
In my case, I've switched to the Airmail mail client, available from the App Store for just $1.99. It has its own quirks, but it also has some really nice features that Mail doesn't have, and the developers seem to be more actively interested in upgrading it all the time.
I also tried Thunderbird, which is much improved over the last time I tried it years ago, and is worth looking at, and free. But I found it rather slow compared to Airmail.
My recommendation would be to try Airmail for now. You can also download their "beta" instead of the version from the App store. That is free, and keeps you on the leading edge of bug fixes.
Since it is IMAP, if you don't like it, you can always go back to Mail or another client if you find something better. But at least Airmail works with Gmail and your mail reliably comes in!

  • Mail Server Will Not Deliver Mail

I can connect with to the mail sever with a mail client, and see delivered mail up to this past Wednesday, but any new mail sent to any account on the server seems to get swallowed up. Except for a single spam mail with the title "JavaChief Info Request" which my mail client tags as junk.
At first it had what appeared to be a database corruption, and I could not see accounts in the admin, so I rebuilt it. Now I can see the existing accounts. If I make a new account with the Workgroup Manager and give it mail capabilities, that account does not show up in the Mail admin.
Because I only have 8 accounts, I'm read to just reformat the whole machine and start over. I don't want to do that because there's 6 months worth of data on the machine.
I keep this particular Mac in my office, basically for internet access and to run my Mail services. So there's some personal data and Applications on the machine that can mostly be recovered with TimeMachine. But that's a time consuming project I'd rather not take on.
BTW, the problems seemed to occur shortly after doing a system update last week to 10.5.4

  • Mail not Receiving Emails from Hotmail

    Dear all,
I am using MacBook Pro, Intel Core i5, 4GB, OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 and my Mail Version is 8.1.
I am trying to import mail from my Hotmail account but it is not working properly. I have setup Mail to Pop (pop3.live.com) , removing the messages from the server after receiving mail.
However, after a few days using this configuration, there are still 39.000 messages left in the Hotmail server and the newest messages on my Mail software are dated on 25/09/2013, which means it is not getting messages from the Hotmail server as it should.
    What could be happening here?
    Thank you,
    Eduardo

Uninstall the hotmail account and install it again.

I gave the URL like this smtp://sxd123.abc.com
    and the respective E-mail ID's
I dont see any message in the communication channel monitering also ..wht could be the reson.. ?
    Thanks

    Hi Dominic,
Since you are not seeing any entry in the communication channel (receiver), I think there is a problem with your configuration. Check whether you have used the correct channel (of type MAIL) in the receiver agreement.

  • Mail not picking up from Yahoo

My wife has an email account from Yahoo. Over the last few days she has been having a problem picking up email from the account.
She has an and older eMac (CRT) that is still running OS 10.4 (Tiger) and using Mail for email.
We have a DSL service from Verizon, and an Apple Airport WiFi system.
Yesterday and today she has had Mail not be able to pick up email from the Yahoo account.
The mail IS there on Yahoo web site and can be seen on their web page, but won't show up in Mail.
Sometimes she gets the emails, but the last time it left some of the email at Yahoo.
Any clues on what may be that problem, either with Yahoo, our internet connection, or Tiger/Mail?

Yahoo email hasn't been reliable for me.  I get a lot of errors when yahoo goes to put a copy of my sent email in to the sent folder.  I am using thunderbird with imap.
Does the wife have a paid account?  I do and I think it is required for downloading your email.
The email pop protocol hasn't changed much so I'd think 10.3 would still be ok.
    What to do?
    wait.
Try another mail reader. set to leave on server.  could try thunderbird with imap. not perfect.

  • Exchange 2013 not delivering mails to Exchange 2010

I am upgrading exchange 2010 to exchange 2013 and currently in coexistence.  I cutover the mx to deliver mail to 2013 cas VIP last night and no mail was being received by the 2010 mailboxes, it was all being queued on the 2013 mailbox servers (mailbox
and cas servers are separate in this deployment.) There are only a few 2013 mailboxes as I have not yet started migrating them.  These 2013 internal mailboxes can not send to exchange 2010 either, but 2010 can send to 2013. 2013 to 2013 mail works
fine. I have read somewhere about an issue with a receive connector having the same ip range that includes the mailbox servers, but I'm not clear on really which mailbox servers it is alluding to.
All the exchange 2010 servers are all on the 10.1.1.* network.  Exchange 2013 CAS servers are all on the 10.1.1.* network and the 3 exchange mailbox servers are on 10.1.1.*, 10.1.2.* and 10.30.5.*.  Only 1 AD site.  On one of the 2010 receive
connectors there is a scope of 10.1.1.0/24  I'm wondering if this is the culprit and by removing it should fix the problem.  Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Exchange 2013 users are unable to send emails to exchange 2010 users then check your connectors on Exchange 2013 Mailbox server. and yes if you have overlapping of scopes in different connectors then this can happen.
Kindly mark this as answer if found helpful. Thanks.

  • POP mail not being deleted from server

I am brand new to the MAC world, I just got my first MAC Book Pro Sunday (switching from a PC). I was successful in setting up Mail to connect to my POP mail account (comcast) and everything so far look great, but when I delete an email and remove it from the trash it does not remove the email from the comcast server. I hope this is just something I am missing in the config being a new user and not knowing what I am doing, I do not want to have to log in to my comcast and delete my email twice.
    Thank you in advance,
    Corey

Under the advanced tab I have the following options
    Checked:
    Enable this account
Include when automatically checking for new mail
    Unchecked:
Remove copy from server after retrieving a message (I did not check this because I still want to keep my mail on the server except when I delete a message then I want it deleted on the server)
    Thank you for your reply,
