ICloud won't connect to Outlook

I have accidentally clicked something in the folder panel on the left hand side of Outlook, and now all iCloud stuff has vanished from Outlook, as if iCloud no longer connects to Outlook. On the iCloud control panel, in the part at the top where I should be able to tick a box to set up mail, calendars etc with Outlook, it just says instead that I can look at mail and calendars on icloud. The option to connect to Outlook has gone.
This is very frustrating because it worked perfectly well until I clicked something in Outlook! How can I re-connect?

Try going to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Mail, restart your Mac then go back to System Preferences and check Mail again.

You can make a distribution list as normal in outlook and then drag and drop it to icloud contacts works a treat

  • My iTunes library in iCloud won't connect to my computer

Went to open iTunes this morning and all my music stored in iCloud won't sync up with my computer so I can't listen to my music. When I open iTunes, the iCloud symbol has a little lightning bolt in it and then just shows that it is trying to connect but won't. All my music is faded out in gray so I cannot play any of it. Anybody else having this problem?

In the menu bar, under Store, see if it says "Turn Off iTunes Match."  Mine did, I selected it and: boom! I connected to icloud and could either play or download all my songs.  Now, it says "Turn On iTunes Match." Hope this helps!

  • Updated to iOS 7, but iCloud won't connect to server to review Terms & Conditions

I've tried via wireless network and cell network.  It also won't let me change the id log-in.  What can I possibly do?

    Hello Ekempe,
If your problem occurred after updating your iPhone to iOS 7 and if you have Updated to iOS 7 directly from your iPhone then I would recommend you to take a backup of all your data on your computer and then Restore your iPhone to Factory settings from your Computer through iTunes. To restore your iPhone through iTunes once you connect your iPhone to your computer you should be able to see your ip hone in iTunes on your computer and then select your iPhone and you should see Update/Restore and Backup/Restore.  You can first click on backup and let the backup complete (you can see the progress of the backup on top of your itunes screen) and after the backup is completed disconnect your iPhone from computer and then Turn Off your iPhone Completely, Once your iPhone is turned off Press and keep holding the Home button which is located at the bottom of your iPhone Screen and now without releasing the Home button connect your iPhone back to the Computer and you should see a Message on your Computer saying iTunes has detected iPhone in Recovery Mode ( you can release the Home button once you see this Message) Now you can click on Restore  ( this will Restore your iPhone to Factory settings) let the Restore complete as this may take some time to complete which depends on your Internet speed and Computers performance. Once the Restore is completed your iPhone will restart and again get connected to itunes on your computer. And it should give you a page where it says Setup as New iPhone or Restore from backup, so you can select Restore from Backup and click continue ( your backup should get restored to your iPhone and your iPhone will restart. Once your iPhone restarts you should see a welcome screen on your iPhone and by following some basic steps you should be able to setup your iphone for first use. After setting up your iPhone check if it fix your issue. Best of Luck and Hope This fixes your issue.

  • Help, icloud won't sync with outlook and iphone

I downloaded the iCloud from iTunes and now my Outlook no longer syncs with my iPhone. It worked perfectly before. Now when I make an entry in my phone it doesn't sync with my PC. This is so annoying, and has cost me dearly with missed appointments. I would like to disable it and go back to how it was but don't know how. Or fix it. I've read the posts and I'm so confused by the different responses that I am going crazy. Please someone just give me a simple solution to either fix this problem or to get rid of iCloud.
    Thanks, much appreciated

SOLUTION POSTED THIS ELSEWHERE ON APPLE.COM
TeddyDo wrote: Hi, I have just found a great solution for syncing up Outlook default folders with iCloud folders and thought I wuold share it with you. The Control Panel still needs to be installed but the new iCloud folders can be synced with default calendars in real time by means of CodeTwo Sync for iCloud. Seems to be working great so far:
    http://www.codetwo.com/sync-for-icloud/
Works with calendars, tasks and contacts.
Thanks TeddyDo...this works for us to. We (my wife and I) each have an iPhone 4S that we sync with our outllook 2010 on our home PC. after a little bit of reconciliation they all sync real-time! OUTSTANDING
worth adding a couple of additional bits of info.
check out the CodeTwo website videos as they are really easy to follow (2 minutes) and the software does it all for you, barring a little bit on the intial configuration, which is why I thought I would type up what to look out for.
only works (supported) if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7
assuming you already have outlook installed, first install install iCloud
go to www.apple.com/icloud and set up the syncs (what you want to sync)
iCloud will have set up a iCloud Calendar in Outlook and you will see that it has probably moved all the data out of the default folder onto the iCloud folder so they are out of sync
install CodeTwo sync for iCloud http://www.codetwo.com/sync-for-icloud/ it cost $10, if you live in the EU it will stupidly ask you for your VAT number, if like me this is for personal use rather than a company it is a pain, but if you put your country as say USA and pay by paypal it works
if you have Norton 360 you will need to go to 'manage the firewall' and 'allow' CodeTwo (which is C2...) otherwise Norton wont allow it to sync.
configure CodeTwo by going to the settings button on the Outlook top bar/ribbon and select which folders you wish to sync and you probably want to go for two-way.
if you are viewing both the iCloud and default calendars you will see that they should start to sync, this may intially take 10 minutes or so as it is making sure they are identical - there is a manage conflicts calendar that is worth flicking through in case there is anything there.
you need to go throught the same process for the contacts (i have 1500 of them so it took10 mins) and then tasks, reminders, etc
they should all (PC, iCloud and iPhones)be synced, but your iPhone calendar will seem as if it has duplicated the lot...it hasn't it is just that it is displaying both the PC calendar and iCloud calendar and they are now identical. go to the iPhone Calendar and tick only the iCloud calendar and your duplicates disappear. contacts etc shouldnt need that attention as it doesnt show duplicates, although if like me you may have some old unreconciled conflicts (historically using iTunes to sync PC and iCloud - not CodeTwo's fault) to deal with, but I should have dealt with that before.
we have multiple PC/laptops at home and given this success we have been thinking about syncing a couple of PCs so we can both be clearing down our outlook emails and all our emails sync. CodeTwo do a couple of similar syncing packages to do that...one for simply two PCs and one for multiple PCs across a home network, giving you most of the functionality of MS Exchange at home...will post something if we go for it, but confident it will probably work.

  • Clean install of Lion, move to iCloud generated error, Mail/iCloud won't connect

One of an ongoing series of issues moving to Lion (whatta workout!). This one involves Mail and iCloud. Porting my MobilMe to iCloud has been problematic - I' ve been asked to do it three or four times, with each time being succesful when viewing through Safari. But now I've realized that the iCloud mail is not being picked up by Mail on my iMac (2009). I go to System Preferences to see if I can do something about it, but iCloud isn't there - just MobileMe. So I click on MobileMe and (again) it asks me to move everything to iCloud. I do this and some error is generated (can't get it to replicate & don't recall what it was), and I can't sign in - it doesn't recognize my login, although I'm still currently in iCloud via Safari - clear as mud? Yikes. Bottom line: Mail can't get at iCloud mail to download, and sign-in seems broken. In 25 years on a Mac, I've never come across this level of Windows-like challenges. Suggestions?

I think the problem is the servers have changed, MobileMe is dead, except it can still be read in IMAP eMail.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
        •    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 993
        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
        •    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 587
        •    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria:  8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers.  If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message.  Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

  • Has anyone managed to get icloud to synchronise properly with outlook calendar?

I have an iphone 5 and am running outlook 2010 on windows 7 32 bit.
I can get icloud to do the intial upoload of the calendar but then after that it won't synchronise new calendar entries.
The phone and icloud syc, but icloud won't sync with outlook whether the entry is put in outlook or in icloud.
I have spoken with Apple support and over many weeks have de-installed and re-installed icloud several times.
I have sent various diagnostiocs and screen shots.
The icloud outlook addin does not appear in the outlook add-ins section, although I can see what might be the add-in sitting on the c drive in the apple folder.
Support have also told me that there is no way to download the icloud add-in seperately.
Apple support are now telling me that I need to de-install and re-install outlook to try and get the add-in to install correctly.
That would be a real pain and I can see on this forum that other people have already tried that without success.
They also say that if that doesn't work I will need to completely re-install the OS.
I don't think they know what the problem is and are just trying anything that might work.
I really don't want to lose all my business data from outlook and certainly don't want to trash my whole PC.
Has anyone any idea where the problem might be?
    Many thanks

Do I gather by the lack of answers that nobody has?

after lion 10.7.3 update messed my mac had to restore from time machine now Outlook won't connect with microsoft exchange, any idea?

I've had a similar problem.  On my first boot up after installing 10.7.4,  Firefox would not open.  Crashed every time.  Safari was not affected.  I have no idea if it was related to the flash plugin, but I did install a the latest version of that a couple of weeks ago.
Here's what fixed it: a second boot up.

  • Not enough storage on icloud and iphone 5s won't connect to itunes

my iphone 5s is out of storage in icloud. i can't back up my phone with icloud and i've tried to delete photos and apps and emails and it hasnt made a dent. and my iphone won't connect to itunes on my computer. i've connected my phone to my computer before and iv tried everything i know to get it to connect but it wont, and the question will pop up on my phone if i want to trust my computer and i say trust because iv done it before but it still wont connect! please help.

When you delete camera roll photos, it doen't reduce your iCloud storage because camera roll photos are only stored on your device.  It will reduce the size of your next backup though because the camera roll is included in the backup.  (Deleting photo stream photos won't make any difference because they are not stored in your iCloud account.)  That's why I was asking if you saw a reduction in the estimated size of your next backup after deleting camera roll photos.  You can see the estimated size of your next backup by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, then tap the name of your device under Backups and look under Backup Options.  This same screen gives you a list of the amount of data being used by the camera roll and your apps in the next backup, with the option to exclude these from the backup.
Deleting email should reduce your iCloud storage as it is stored in your iCloud account.
You're probably going to have problems backing up 4 devices to the same iCloud account without purchasing additional storage.  Most device backups are in excess of 1GB.  Four device would probably exhaust your free 5GBs of storage, leaving you no room for email, contacts, calendars, notes and other synced data.  If you don't need to share the same data with all four devices, another option would be to migrate some (or all) of them to separate accounts, giving them 5GB of free storage each.  Another option would be to backup some of the device to your computer using iTunes rather than iCloud.
This article provides some suggestions on ways to reduce your iCloud storage: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847.

  • Mail won't connect to iCloud, goes offline

Mail has been problematic. Once a day it will not download emails from the servers, and all accounts will go offline. A restart of Mail solves this, but why does it happen? Aslo, Mail won't connect with iCloud, with the password not being accepted both in Mail and in the System Preferences. However, the password does work with accessing iCloud via browser. How would I fix this?

Apparently NO ONE knows how to fix this problem.  I've scoured the posts on the Apple discussions and a lot of people have this problem, but no one can solve it.  And ANY suggestions are always the ones that we all know how to try anyway.  Never anything new.  No one can solve the problem and obviously Apple doesn't give a rat! They never help either.  I see a LOT of posts with a QUESTION, and no one answers them.
