Icon Text Color

So I've seen discussions about being able to change icon text color and people have submitted suggestions to Apple about it.
Still nothing has been done.
Finder allows you to change the background finder window to whatever color you want but if you want black then you're out of luck because now you can't read the icons' text.
I think it's ridiculous that this hasn't been fixed yet. It's such a simple thing that should have been fixed so long ago.
Is there a reason for this?

Hi,
And please also check your "Show my desktop background on Start" option under Taskbar\Properties\Navigation, some users found that if we select "show my desktop background on Start", Win 8.1 ignores the drop shadow instruction.
And the settings for Visual Effects under control panel and registry you mentioned above are the right location we should check, so if all of them are not working, I suggest you return your PC to a previous state at which the pc was functioning fine with
restore point if possible.

  • Gnome 3.2 desktop icons text color

    I am running Gnome 3.2 with Gnome-Shell - but I have "Have file manager handle desktop" enabled.  The text under the icons on the desktop is Black.
    Does anyone know where that info is stored and/or how to change the color to white?
    Thanks.

The first time, after reststarting with Alt-F2 'r', the desktop was mostly reset, but the icons were all still there, and running gnome-tweak-tool "Have file manager manage the desktop" was set to False, and setting it to True did nothing. I removed the file again, logged out, then logged in, and then the icon's were gone, and setting "Have file manager manage the desktop" properly put white text under the icons.
    Very interesting.  I did all that you suggested - and in the end - the icon text was still black.  However - I got to playing around and discovered the source of the problem.
    It is the GTK+ Theme.  If it is set to any GTK+ theme other than the default 'Adwaita' - the icon text is always black.  However, it works correctly - white - with Adwaita.
    So - I surmise that something changed in how Gnome 3.2 uses GTK+ - or something in GTK+ itself.  Perhaps Wonder may have some perspective on this ... I hope.

  • How do I change the text color of desktop icons in OS X Yosemite?

    I have a lighter background for my finder and keep many icons on it.  Due to the lighter background, I need to adjust the text color of the icon to a darker color.  I can't locate where to adjust from the default (white) to a grey.

    Thank you for your response.  My icons are difficult to read on a light background.  Are there any third party modifications available?  TinkerTool does not have this capability.
    I do not know of any 3rd party apps to do the mod currently.
    You can change the background pic or modify the original BG by underexposing it for better contrast.

  • Icon Text Background Color

    I would like to be able to change the background color of the icon text labels on the desktop in OS 9.2.2. The default color (white) looks strange on some wallpapers. Is there a fairly easy way to do this?
    Thanks very much,
    David

    HI, David -
    The highlight color (tint) can be reset easily via the Appearance control panel, but the non-highlighted (normal) tint for the filename's background color is a different thing.
    I suppose ResEdit could be used for that, but I don't know which resource it is.
    You might tinker a bit using Kaleidoscope - it offers lots of interesting ways to customize Finder's display of things, and may include the ability to alter that.
    Kaleidoscope
    However, the filename background color is a global setting. Since the vast majority of filenames are presented (displayed) from within an enclosing folder, changing the filename background color to something other than the default will cause it to stand out against the folder's white background, instead of vanishing.

  • IPhoto quits when I try and change text color in book

    When editing a new iPhoto book (version 5), I was changing the font color. As I clicked on the text color icon in the fonts window (show fonts from the iPhoto menu), Iphoto just quit. It also lost all my formating thst I had for my pics. I tried the font color change in other applications using 'Font Book' and the same icon works without crashing the application.
    This is a new thing, because I have had no trouble with the first book I made.

  • Firefox: Change toolbar text color

    Hello guys,
    I saw some very awesome threads in the artwork section and I thought someone here might be able help me make firefox sexier (sorry if I posted in the wrong section! should this be on artwork? newbie?).
    Could anyone supply the CSS code/element (for userChrome.css) I need to change so font color in the toolbar items changes?
    (I want to change the "Back","Reload","Home" color form black to white when they are active)
    I tried some stuff I found on google like:
    menubar, menubutton, menulist, menu, menuitem {
    color: white ! important;
    But to no avail.
    I think it should be something like 'toolbar' or 'navigation-buttons' (instead of the 'menu' elements) because they are originally from the 'Navigation toolbar' (I just clicked 'Customize' to move them up).
    Thanks!

    /edit misread your question i think, you want to change the the menu text?
    heres what i have for tabs.
    /* Change text to green for selected tabs. */
    tab[selected="true"] .tab-text {
    color: #87c300 !important;
    /* remove +newtab button */
    .tabs-newtab-button {
    display: none;
    /* Change the tab-bar height */
    .tabbrowser-strip
    height: 16px !important;
    /* background-color: #888888 !important; */
    * remove tab favicons */
    .tab-icon-image {
    display: none !important;
    and changed their width in about:config

  • Changing Text Color Through Scripting?

    Is it possible to change the color of a text field within a
    display icon through scripting ?
    Basically using a calc icon I want to display text within a
    display icon and change the text color as well. Ideally I would
    like to use authorware's RGB function to change the text colour.
    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    No. You have two choices. The first is something like this:
    {varRed}{varBlue}{varGreen}
    the {varRed} text would be red
    {varBlue} would be blue
    {varGreen} would be green.
    Then:
    varRed := "This is some text"
    varBlue := varGreen := ""
    Your text would be red if Update Displayed Variables was
    checked on the
    icon.
    You can also use RTF Objects, which will allow you to set
    font color using
    named colors or hexadecimals.

  • Side menu text color

    Hello Muse folks... new at this and I'm working with the template i purchased Muse Templates - Wide | Adobe Muse Template | ThemeForest. If you go to the live veiw and scroll down there will be a menu that appears on the left side. I was able to change the icons in the muse program but i do not see where I can change the text color for hover and click, etc. I also want to change the logo image above but I'm not sure where that's located either. This is my first time to use the program so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you... smiles!

    Hi Mark,
    You need to go under, "file -> site properties -> content" to change the hyperlink styling. Check the screen shot below.
    And for the logo above check the master page that is applied to the home page and see if you able to locate it there.

  • Text Color in disabled text field

    Hi,
    In our application, The default rendered text in disabled fields is not visible properly. In order to improve the visibility we applied different color using content style for those fields.
    We did see the change in the fields after applying content-style. But it is a painful job to apply the content-style for each input field.
    Is there a way to configure default text color in ADF which is applicable for all the disabled fields in the application?
    We also tried the option of setting the color using css in following manner:
    af|inputText::content{color:#333333;}
    But this didn't have any impact on the text color.
    Please let us know if we can achieve this through a single point fix in the code.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi Dimitar,
    The :rtl is a special case, as is :ltr and :alias. These are always placed at the end and are purely for the engine, they do not generate any style class on the DOM whereas other peudo classes generate a p_AF<state> class on the MAIN DOM element, which is why you must place the class on them. For example:
    af|inputText:disabled::content becomes
    In the CSS: af_inputText.p_AFDisabled af_inputText_content
    In the HTML <span class="af_inputText p_AFDisabled"><input class="af_inputText_content">

  • How do I change the text color of footers on select pages? (InDesign CS6)

    Good afternoon,
    Months ago, I worked with a graphic designer to put together a 100-page workbook for my training company. He turned all of the files over to me and I'd like to make a small change before we print another run for a new client. Specifically, I'm having trouble changing the text color on select pages. Since a picture says 1,000 words, let me give you an example:
    As you can see, the copyright information on the right side of the page is difficult to read here when placed over the photo (you may have to look closely, but it's along the guy's sleeve). What I'd love to do is change that part of the footer (not the left, page number side) to white text. This would make it quite a bit easier to read. There's a number of other pages in the book that I want to make this change to. I'm not sure why I never noticed it or mentioned it to the designer. I suppose I've become more discerning since then.
    Let me tell you what I've tried to do:
    I learned how to override master pages by CTRL+SHIFT clicking on the footer. However, this has not worked for me. It allows me to change the page number part, but not the copyright side. Additionally, sometimes when I override the master the formatting of the footer goes goofy. For instance, the left side and right side come together and end up in the middle of the page I'm working on.
    I'm looking for a quick way to go through and make the footers easier to read on pages where they are backed by a photo. Hoping you can help me. Please let me know if you need any other information.
    Best,
    Taylor

    I think you should have left it as it was. It seems like what you had was single pages flowing as spreads within InDesign. Like below. That is the correct way, and when you changed it to all single, it did create your footer problems.
    Will you be sending the file as a PDF to your online printer? If so, then leaving the InDesign file set as below is fine. The PDF output will separate the pages.
    All you have to do is make sure that Pages, not Spreads, is chosen when you output the PDF

  • Different text color options?

    What is the difference between changing text color through the drop-down color swatch options and the recolor artwork option?

    Under what circumstances?

  • Unable to change text color (from Black)

    For the next person who blunders into this and searches for an answer...
    If you have a Condition Code whose decoration is a custom color, and you delete the color, the text goes to Black, and you cannot change the color of text bearing that CC - with local color override, or a Character Format that applies a color (I didn't try Paragraph format).
    I am copying formatted content in from an older document that doesn't conform to current templates. I had deleted unused colors in the source, but not unused Condition Codes, one of which rode in with some text. What was controlled by the CC in the old doc is now controlled by a color Character format, except that when applied, the text stayed stubornly black (until I nuked the CC).

    Dear FrameMaker 7.1/Unix user,
    This does not surprise me. As long as the condition is applied and "Show Condition Formats" is active FrameMaker will show the Condition Color (now: Black) and not any underlying text colors.

  • Why am I unable to change text color from black in LR5 book module?

    Why am I unable to change text color from black in LR5 Book Module?

    I'm assuming you clicked on the color patch besides the word <Character> to open the color picker window.
    At the right side of this window there is a vertical bar that has 2 horizontal black lines at the bottom.
    This is actually a slider. Pull it upwards with the color picker and color will appear in the window.

  • How to change text color in CS4

    Hey everyone. I know I'm not fluent in Dreamweaver, but had DW8 before upgrading to CS4 and I'm pretty handy with it. In version 8, if I wanted to change a text color, I simply highlighted the text and picked a color. No worries.
    However in CS4, I seem to be only have that ability in my CSS properties, (not HTML properties). Then when I try to change the color, it gives me a dialogue box asking questions such as "new CSS", "for this page only", etc. and I don't understand what I'm supposed to do.
    Can someone tell me in a user-friendly way (step-by-step), how to simply change a text color on a page? I went to the help topics and it said to use the 'color-picker', but that takes me back to my original problem.
    I'm either doing something terribly wrong, or ADOBE has made a simple task into brain surgery!
    Thanks in advance for assistance!
    Mark

    Beginning with CS3, DW became more compliant with W3C web standards which call for content (HTML) being separate from style (CSS).  Thus you now have two properties boxes: one for HTML content and another for CSS styles.
    Create a few CSS classes using the CSS style panel.
    CSS:
    .red {color: red}
    .blue {color: blue}
    .green {color: green}
    Highlight a word or sentence on your page and apply the appropriate class to your HTML.
    HTML:
    <p class="red"> this is red text</p>
    <p class="blue"> this is blue text with <span class="green">GREEN WORDS</span> in the middle</p>

  • How can I get an Extension's toolbar icon to display image without text (without universally affecting other icons)? How can I edit the icons text (save space)?

    "From the Show dropdown menu, you can choose what to display in the toolbars: icons, text, or icons and text together. By default, Firefox shows icons only." Is there a way to choose an individual setting for a specific toolbar icon to be icon only (no text) without universally affecting all other icons on the toolbars?
    Second, is there a way to edit the text on a specific toolbar button from an extension (because it occupies too much horizontal space on the toolbar due to the amount of text)? I do know how to locate the xpi file & open it with notepad, but then it's mainly code (not English) & FIND doesn't locate the button's text (to edit it).
    These 2 questions should apply to Extension buttons in general. However IF it makes any difference I'm referring to the Toolbar Button in Back To Top 7.0 which says "Go to top/bottom". I'd at least like to edit out "Go to", but my questions apply to other Extension buttons too. I do realize it may be necessary to redo any fix/change each time there is an update? THANK YOU.
