  • Combos Master-detail UIX Jdev 9i

    Hi,
How can I do mastar-detail with two combos and without submitting the page?
I´m using bc4j and did get the second combo to work, but only when I submit the page. But if I submit the page I get another problem: the first combo is setted to the first "option" and the second is rendered by the parameter setted in the first combo, previous page. Anyone knows how do I fix this?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
You still need to do the submit, but you need to save the options that are selected between form submits.

  • Does Jdev 3.0 have an icon/bitmap editor?

Is there an icon or bitmap editor to create icons for buttons and icon for JDev's componette palette (for our project's compoenents)??

Yes, BI Beans 9.0.3 will support 9.2 connections. We will be posting the pre-release version within the week. please check back by the end of the week.

  • ADF/UIX logon custom screen?

    Hi,
probably this is a pretty trivial question, but how do I make my custom logon screen for a ADF/UIX JDev 10g app?
    TIA,

    Tamás,

  • Websphere 5.1 and ADF/UIX

We are having problems with ADF/UIX (Jdev 10g) in Websphere 5.1. We are continually getting an error in the xmlparserv2.jar when put into the <websphere_home>/lib/ext directory. Actually, websphere cannot startup with that jar there. We installed Business Components according to the documentation found in http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/howtos/appservers/deploy_bc4j_to_websphere.html
I realize the doc is geared towards JDev 9.0.3 and probably an older version of websphere. I am wondering if anyone has successfully deployed Business Components to Websphere 5.1 and could you successfully run an ADF/UIX application in Websphere.
    TIA...

    Brian,
Ya, after figuring out the JDK 1.3 issue, I thought it best to go back and try it on Websphere 5.1 (I was trying it on 5.0.2.2). Since IBM's material says 5.1 supports 1.4, that seemed logical. I don't know much about Websphere, but can't see where one can plug in a different JDK. Perhaps someone can chime in on that.
BUT, I did get a simple ADF UIX application to work on IBM Websphere 5.1.0.3. As I alluded to in previous posts, it would seem that the lib\ext has a different purpose in 5.1. The contents of this location are somehow used for the internals of WAS, so the server cannot even start if you follow the previous how to document at:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/howtos/appservers/deploy_bc4j_to_websphere.html
To get away from this, I created a separate location as a library in Websphere and put the following jars into the location:
    adfm.jar
    adfmejb.jar
    adfmtl.jar
    bc4jct.jar
    bc4jctejb.jar
    bc4jdomorcl.jar
    bc4jhtml.jar
    bc4jimdomains.jar
    bc4jmt.jar
    bc4jmtejb.jar
    bc4juixtags.jar
    classes12.jar
    collections.jar
    commons-el.jar
    jdev-cm.jar
    jdev-rt.jar
    jsp-el-api.jar
    nls_charset12.jar
    ojmisc.jar
    oracle-el.jar
    ordhttp.jar
    ordim.jar
    regexp.jar
    runtime12.jar
    share.jar
    struts.jar
    uix2.jar
    uix2tags.jar
    xmlparserv2.jar
(Honestly, I don't know how I came to this exact list of jars. Some I added by working through class not found exceptions, others are in here because of the how to document. In any case, I can't vouch for its completeness or correctness.)
I created the location that all of these jars were in as a shared library (environment -> shared libraries). Then, I added the library to the deployed application (Applications -> Enterprise Applications -> <the application deployed> -> Configuration Tab -> libraries.
I'm admittedly quite a novice with Websphere, so I can't say if this is the correct way to do it, but it works. :)

    Hi David,
In your Admin Console, what's the mapping for port 8080 of your site (say site 'x')? It might be mapped explicitly to port 80 of the server (or) another possibility is that it might not be explicitly mapped & so it is being taken to the default port of 80 of the server.
    Hope this helps.

  • ##BUG## Jdev/ADF/UIX/SCM

I'm developing an UIX application with jdev 9.0.5.1, adf and SCM to versioning. And i've been lost half day to catch an problem, that i think, was a scm bug.
    Explaining :
I've create a uix page and, drag and drop a VO from data control to create input form. Then i put an commit button, in same way. I look to page struture on tab UIModel and there is commit, i look to structur on my UIModel.xml and there is. So i think that all ok. But when i run and try to save changes the messagebox show java.lang.nullPointerException, and on log nothing appear. Only an strange message "Warning: using introspection to lookup return value from :Commit.". Then when i try to see xml source from uimodel, there is no commit dccontrol. I've to do manual check out from uimodel.xml and to all again. I think that scm must do it by his self.

In case you have access to Metalink, could you please check Note 300714.1 and see if it relates to your case ?

  • UIX Look&Feel with custom icons

I am trying to create my own look and feel configuration for a UIX application and I still want to allow customers to easily change the colors of the look and feel by just using a different .xss file.
This works nicely apart from the icons I used e.g. for the content container.
Now my question what do I have to do to automatically color my icons in colors defined in the .xss file as the regular BLAF does.
Can I declare this somehow in my LookAndFeelConfig.xml file? Or do I have to use the
<instance class="" method=""/> element for the image. If so are there any utility classes from UIX that help me change the color of an image?
    thanks,
    Guido
Currently what I have is smthg. like this:
    <icon name="contentContainerLightHeaderStart">
    <context-image uri="Images/fti_alternate/cnr_drk_tl.gif"/>
    </icon>
With the icon having a fixed color idependent of any styles.

repost. Is this supported or not?
I decompiled part of the UIX framework and it seems this is not really intended as the class coloring the Icons uses some fixed style names and is only useful for the OracleDesktopLookAndFeel.
Are you thinking of making something like this available in one of the next releases?
I think this would a be a very nice feature. At least what I suggest is that for Instance icons the method that returns the icon gets a RenderingContext (and maybe the name of the icon so you can have one method for mulitple icons) - this way a you can implement the code to color the icon in that method.
Let me know what you think.

  • UIX table tag's attribute VALUE is missing in jdev 10g production

In JDeveloper 10g preview, I handled my table's navigation manually and need to set the table's tag attribute VALUE in order to keep the record range.
However, when i convert my project to JDeveloper 10g Production, eventhought the page is still working fine, but in the design windows will show that the uix page is in invalid state and I found that the attribute VALUE is no more supported.
Could anyone please help me and let me know how do i set back my record range? Thanks!

It turns out that you're running into a bug that will be fixed in the soon to be released version of JDev 10g. The good news is that it's a design time bug, so your pages will still work at runtime. You can even fix the bug yourself if you want. In JDEV_HOME\jlib there is uix2-schemas.zip. Inside of that is ui/table.xsd.
Add the below attribute definition inside of the complex type for the table, and you should be all set.
    <attribute name="value" type="ui:unsignedIntExpressionType" default="1"/>
    Hope this helps,

  • Debugging UIX 2.2.15 apps with JDev 10.1.3 [JSP TLD Namespace error]

    Hi,
I am trying to get JDeveloper 10.1.3 (JTINTEG_MAIN_NT_050601.1217.428) to work with UIX 2.2.15 (*not* UIX 3.x/ADF).
I am currently getting the following "not a registered TLD namespace" JSP errors during compiling.
    Project: C:\jdev1013\jdev\mywork\VTFLite322\VTFLite322\VTFLite322.jpr
    C:\jdev1013\jdev\mywork\VTFLite322\VTFLite322\public_html\cabo\bi\jsp\selectItemsShuttle.jsp
Error(1): "http://xmlns.oracle.com/bibeans/jsp" is not a registered TLD namespace

Error(1): "http://xmlns.oracle.com/bibeans/jsp" is not a registered TLD namespace
    Question:
Is it possible to configure JDeveloper 10.1.3 to work with older versions of UIX (e.g. 2.2.x)?
Am I missing something obvious? I have tried various things on OTN that didn't work (i.e. searched JDeveloper forum for 'TLD namespace' and 'UIX 2.2').
I am currently not having problems debugging Thick Java components, but would like to standardize development/debugging for both Thick (Java) and Thin (UIX 2.2.x) on one 10.1.3 JDeveloper platform.
For reference, I am currently trying to migrate from the production JDeveloper 10.1.2.0.0 (Build 1811) release, where UIX 2.2.x applications work fine. Near term I do not have a need migrate previous applications to UIX 3.x/ADF.
    Thanks

Yes, I can create a new as3 file, but I can't "fill it with
sensible content". Neither my As3-codes are recognized nor simple
components are displayed to me in a proper way when testing the

Now, I have just reinstalled my CS4 on another computer and
there it works with AS3. Really strange. Does CS4 need to
communicate with some internet services while executing a simple
    fla-file or something like that?

  • Jdev 1013 + service update 3 + uix migrate

    Hello,
I have just installed jdev 10.1.3.0.4 with Service Update 3, but I cannot install UIX Migrate Tool. I don't see it in 'Official Oracle Extension and Updates' list in 'Check for Updates' menu, and when I'm trying to install it from local file, it says, that I don't have some extensions installed, but doesn't say which ones. What should I do?

If you are using templates in your UIX pages, dont worry about the conversion tool. When it hits the template it comments that section out, which is basically your whole page.
If you are not using templates, please post how the conversion went.
    thanks

We have no experience with this. I advice you to post a question in the JDeveloper forum and see if the JDeveloper Wizard supports UIX 2.1.20, because that is the version of UIX that will be used after you copied the UIX libraries we supply. If not, you should restore the libraries as delivered with JDeveloper.

Version 2.1.20 is beyond 2.1.7. I don't know what version is delivered with JDeveloper 9.0.3 but I as far as I know, JDeveloper 9.0.4 comes with UIX version 2.1.19.
I do not think there is that much difference between the UIX version as delivered with JDeveloper and 2.1.20, that you cannot succesfully use the online UIX Developers Guide of JDeveloper. For questions about UIX, please refer to the UIX forum (technologies -> UIX) or the JDeveloper forum.

  • How do I filter in JDev 10g a UIX record list based on a radio group?

    Hi,
I am experimenting with JDev 10g preview. I created a UIX record list page based on a BC4J entity/view. I would like to filter the records that are displayed. I put a radio group on top of the list, but do not know how to make the filtering part.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tamas Szecsy

Imagine I have the EMP table and I base a BC4J on it. The EMP table has a column called ACTIVE, that inidicates whether the given employee is active or already left the company.
The radio button on the top should have two radio items: one for the active eployee filtering and one for the not active ones. The employee records below the radio group should be listed according to this filtering.
