hi
my server has no '/icons/' folder so my directory listing displays X's (missing images) next to my file names. could someone please tell me what to include in my .htaccess file to change the default path from /icons/ to /somethingelse/
*i'm on apache 1.3.33 so will this allow me to do it and will it allow to me to add a header and footer to my directory listing using the HeaderName and ReadmeName?

You could add directives your .htaccess file, but it would be far, far easier to just use the standard /icons/ directory and save your icons in there.
The standard apache installation has an alias for /icons/ to /usr/share/httpd/icons/ and that's where apache will look for any icons to put on directory listings. You might be getting confused that this directory isn't in your DocumentRoot and might think it doesn't work.
As for the header/footer question add the following directives to your config (either in /etc/httpd/httpd.conf for a global setting, in a virtual host config file in /etc/httpd/sites/, or in a .htaccess file in the appropriate directory:
HeaderName header.html
ReadmeName footer.html
This will look for files called header.html and footer.html in the directory in question and pre/append them to the output. The files can also be absolute URLs so, for example, you could use 'HeaderName /header.html' to serve header.html from your server's document root rather than the current directory.

How can i reduce physical filesize of my photo's within the flash web gallery. When i generate the flash gallery it takes the original filesizes to publisch, some jpg files are verry large, not mentioning my raw files.

Use the Image Processor script.
In Bridge it is: Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor ...

Someone shows the method to use AppleScript/ Automator to make Photos add the same description to multiple photos. I just opened up AppleScript editor and poked around the Dictionary for Photos and saw we have access to GPS longitude,latitude and altitude. So by using a third party app/web page to get those values, an Apple Script could be used to batch add the info to selected photos. That being said, I'm really busy these days and lack time to write scripts and migrate to photos.

i have big network of cisco switches and all is in my cisco network assistant in comunity connected via HTTPS. if i add new switch to network (all for HTTPS access is configured good: domain name, ip http secure-server, authenticate locale ...) and if i can add this switch to comunity (right click on icon and ADD TO COMUNITY), CNA say "Unable to Connect", because it can connect to switch via HTTP (i have disable it on switch), not via HTTPS. i have never version of CNA ... where is problem? why it not connect to switch via HTTPS? hmmm? thank you ... If you are using a Mac, simply hit Command-Spacebar to bring up Spotlight Search. Begin typing the name of the application and when you see what you are looking for, press enter. You should get a hit by the second or third letter you type. Great way to launch apps on computers that you are not familiar with.
Windows 7 and 8 should have something similar. I think you simply press the Windows key and begin typing. Press enter when you see a match.
Both Mac and Windows search tools can be customized to search for applications, files, emails and so forth. For Windows, look for Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. For Mac, go to Preferences Spotlight. Turn off items you know you won't need to speed up searches.

How can I separate the "Icons and Text" of the browser control buttons (Back, Forward, etc.) from the Icons on the Add-on toolbar?

At home, this is not an issue. I don't know why it's different here at work--same installation, same settings (as far as I can tell).

I have a NoScript add-on icon in the corner, which works fine. If I add a GreaseMonkey icon from the Customize menu, the "Icon and Text" appears for that icon, like the Icon and Text from the browser controls (Home, stop, etc). Other add-on icons also show Icon and Text (S4E, for instance). NoScript is the only one I've found so far which collapses down to just an Icon.
This leads to the status (add-on) bar having a much larger height than I like. Essentially what I want is for only the Icon to appear in the Status bar (Add-on toolbar), while keeping Icons and Text in the Browser controls. My current workaround is simply removing the other add-on icons from the status (add-on) toolbar, but that takes away the ease of toggling and setting options.
Please tell me if I can provide you with anything else, and thanks for your help.

Surely there must be some UserChrome.css that will solve this problem. Something like this:

How do I add a space to the toolbar in Firefox 29.0? I can grab a space from empty areas and move it around, but where do I find a "space" icon to ADD a space?

It has been useful in past versions of Firefox to be able to add (a) space(s) between icons on the toolbar in order to create groups of icons and/or separate icons by class or function. In Firefox 29.0, I discovered how to "grab" (click and drag) a space from open areas on the toolbar and move it to another part of the toolbar. But how can I add spaces to the toolbar? In past versions, there used to be a space icon in the customize menu set that could be dragged to the toolbar for that purpose.

Not able to Post PodCast Photo icon and description on iTune page...

I Have been working hard and reading everything, Yet I have not been able to understand how to post my _photo icon_ and the description for my podcast page. I am working with Garage Band and iWeb '09.
The photo shows up if you click on the podcast, but not on the main itunes page.
Can I just work from the programs of Garage Band, iWeb and iTunes for this podcast or do I need to the file programing to run things? I have yet to find out how to _add search/key words_ for people to find my podcast.
I really want to make an announcement of this podcast but not till I have everything working. I have been trying many ways and things just do not seem to work.

iWeb will not let me change the theme on that page, it wants me to add a new page.
Open your podcast page, click on 'Themes' in the bar along the bottom (I did this in iWeb 08, I don't know whether 09 is different) and select a new theme. I was able to apply a new theme to an existing site. I don't know whether you will need to do this to all the entry pages, possibly you will. Does this not work for you?
Maybe I could name a new page the same and delete the old one. Would this still throw itunes off on my account?
I should think that as long as you were careful to keep the new version with the same name, so that the URL for the feed didn't change, that iTunes would simply accept this as an update.
Not trying to make things more complicated, would it work to change to a blog page so I can be adding show notes and links from the podcast. Will this still work with iTunes and do everything I will need to work out?
That's getting beyond my competence in iWeb (which as I say I don't use) so I'm reluctant to advise on this; once again I can only suggest the iWeb forum.

1. The "Control bar" is still something missing and to display the location of the same functions are different depending on the selected tool.
Therefore, the tools will I need to keep an eye on pallets or icons. But description of the pallets is too great for me, takes place and I can not see as many pallets as I need.
2. The idea to create multiple workspace and its continuous change is not good for me.
When I work I prefer to have the tools at its one location, then I can rely on My reflexes when choosing a tool, and not constantly look where this time or constantly switch the workspace.

To call an image, you need to enter something like this in a HTML Region Body, Footer or Header:

Script to add description and keywords to files from text file

Can anyone write something up for me? I will admit I cannot do it myself, I do not know Javascript.
I need to add keywords and a description to 1000's of images. I have a text file formatted as such for each 100 images. The script would need to ask for an input file (or I can hardcode the path into the script) and then apply to the current folder of images shown in bridge.
Text file example:
1000 - Bright Sunset Over City. (sun;city;sky;mountain;) .
1001 - Dawn Behind Mountain And Lake. (sun;mountain;water;sky;) .
1002 - Bright Red Sunset, Light Edged Clouds. (sun;sky;tree;clouds;) .
1003 - Tree Framing Sunset Over Bay. (tree;sun;lake;bay;) .
1004 - Sun Behind Gull On Pilings. (seagull;sun;sea;pilings;) .
images are named 1000.tif, 1001.tif, 1002.tif etc
Running on a Mac with CS3 and CS4.

This is nice example, but your script incorrectly sets both dc:description and dc:subject as ordered arrays. Description should be an alt-text type property, and subject is an unordered array (or 'bag'). Some software might not tolerate the incorrect XMP data types.
Here's an example showing the wrong and write way to set these two properties using the XMP Script API:

Add "print page" icon and command

I post articles on my webpage and would like for my visitors to print them. Is there a way, other then they just clicking on their own print command, to add a "print article" button within my site. This would maybe open up another page to allow better printing formatting. I am just using iWeb 08 and the Modern Frame template.
