Icons in JAR file did not appear on runing web form

I am testing web application built using Forms6i with path 9. I configured the form server to run as a servlet and I put all the icons used in the application in JAR file I name it ICONS.JAR, I put this file in \FORMS60\JAVA\ directory.
I made the following configurations:
In Apache listner configuration file httpd.conf :
Alias /forms60java/ "D:\orant\forms60\java\/"
In forms confuguration file formsweb.cfg:

in registry.dat file:

The forms are run with nao problem except that the icons do not appear. I see java console on the client machine, and I see that ICONS.JAR was downloaded and saved in jar cache.
In Apache access log file I see that there is an attempt to load the icons from the path <server_name>/forms60java/icon_name.gif but not from the archived JAR file.
What could be goes wrong or missing?
Hi Amin,
Maybe the icons.jar file doesn't contain the files (try opening it with WinZip or some other tool and verify the files are indeed there).
Maybe some case sensitivity issues are at play?
Or the GIF files are the wrong size so maybe you're only seeing the transparent upper left corner of alle the icons displayed on your iconic buttons or whatever.
Just a couple of wild shots (cause it doesn't appear you're having errors - but check all your log files including error_log)

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. -
After waiting 27 minutes while the new iTunes supposedly downloaded onto my computer, the Finder window did not appear, and the iTunes.mpkg icon didn't appear on my desktop (where downloads usually go). I also looked for the new iTunes by clicking on my Hard Drive icon but didn't see it there either. I only see the icon for the old iTunes. What do I do?
The exclamation mark means that the app has lost the link to the actual file.
First step: try and make sure the iPhoto Library is working correctly:
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -
The error message I get on my PC is "The ITunes library file cannot be saved" An unknown error occurred (-50)and my music library has disappeared. I recently tried to copy a CD to my library - it appeared to copy ok but then did not appear in my music library. The library does not show up even when my iPad is connected to my PC. My entire library is now held on my iPad and I wish to have it in iTunes so I can sync my iPhone to it as well. Help?

iCloud doesn't magically appear when you move your MobileMe account to iCloud. iCloud comes with your operating system, you need to have OS X 10.7.2 or better installed in order to use iCloud on your computer. -

Very disappointing that I could only find out that iTunes Radio would not being availabe outside the US in this Forum. Shouldn't this important info have been mentioned in the 'official' communications/advertisements? Or does this imply that...for Apple, customers outside the US just do not matter?

We have our application specific gif file in a jar file, and have placed this jar file in the virtual directory specified in our registry.dat file. The JInitiator console claims it finds the jar file and appears to be using other classes contained in the jar file but is NOT using the gifs we have included. If we unjar the gifs into the directory where the jar file resides the toolbar icons appear correctly.
What are we doing wrong? Do we need to include the jar file location in our classpath? We are running this using 9iAS with appache as our application ser and JInit 1.1.8.10 and Headstart 6.5.
We are running this on HP-UX B.11.00U and have managed to get the icons working under NT using appache/forms server configuration but not under unix with 9iAS. Any suggestions?Hi Michelle,
when you included your gif files in the jar file, did you make sure that the gif files are not in a subdirectory. To check this open the file using winzip and see if all gif files are in the top level directory. If this is the case empty the jcache directory to make sure the jar file is indeed fetched after you changed the file.
Also beware that the name of your button image property is case sensitive. So if you have the icon property set to MyButton the gif file should also be called MyButton.gif. This can be verified in the Java Console of the jinitiator by looking at the gif file that it tries to fetch for your iconic button.

I'm experiencing an issue where when using the Office 2013 package pulled down from ODT, that if I try to change the locations of either InfoPath Filler 2013 or Publisher 2013 from the default of Microsoft Office 2013 then I receive the message "The
configuration file did not contain well formed AppV configuration XML. Please check the management server event log for more information". If I check Applications and Services\Microsoft\AppV\Server-Management\Admin the error displayed there is "An
error was encountered parsing dynamic configuration file '0'. However I am able to change the shortcut location for all other applications except the above 2. I've tried redownloading the files using the ODT and also changing the version number (so far I've
tried both the 15.0.4631.1002 and 15.0.4659.1001 with the same result).
As all I'm interested in so far is having a package which contains Visio and Project I've tried following the article to exclude all the other Office elements:

when I hadn't set the exclude tags so I'm not sure whether the ExcludeApp parameters actually work correctly.
This then brings me onto the 3rd issue I've experienced. I have a group for the Visio users and I've set custom security for them to have Visio delivered to them but not Project and then a seperate group for just Project users who will have Project delivered
to them but not have Visio. When testing this sometimes seems to work but other times it seems to trip out and a user just in the Project or Visio group will get all of the Office 2013 applications and under the default location of Microsoft Office 2013. When
trying to spot correlation with this it appears random and can happen to any user on any device. We have sequenced a few applications ourselves where different parts are needed for different users and we have successfully managed this using different security
groups for different applications, just as I'm trying here with Office 2013.
Has anyone else experienced the issue with the "did not contain well formed XML" as at the start of the post and how were you able to resolve this? Also has anyone any advice on how to troubleshoot the issue with the security seeming to trip out
and publish all applications within a package to a user regardless of whether they are in the correct group or not?
The management / publishing servers are 5.0.1224.0 which is SP1 HF4 and the clients are on SP2 HF5.

The config files are UTF-8. I did find the same article as yourself, however when searching for the value ‘TakeoverExtensionPointsFrom46=’ within either of the configuration.xml files that text isn’t found.
No sinister reason not to share the file used, just it’s the same structure as referenced in the article:

3). We’ve not used global publishing in our environment yet so I will try that. I’ve set both GlobalRefreshEnabled and GlobalRefreshOnLogon to True and when using the command Get-AppvPublishingServer on the client I’m testing with I can see this is pulled

Ok that explains why the security could be tripping out then and leading to this result. As above I’ll try with global publishing and see how I get on.
From what I’ve read / watched I think only one Office 2013 package can be published to a machine, so we would be unable to have a separate package for Visio and a separate package for Project and then attempt to deliver
them both together. If a user wanted both Project and Visio then I guess we’d need to have a combined Project and Visio package to cover than scenario, but then 2 more separate Project and Visio packages for those who would only want either Project and Visio
(I think).
The scenario we’re looking at is to see whether we are able to deliver Project and / or Visio to different users through an AppV package and this will then cover users on XenApp or on fat clients. Only a small proportion of our
users will need access to Project and / or Visio so therefore we’d only have a small amount of Project and Visio licenses.
However from what I’ve tested up to this point and from what I’ve picked up from Forum posts / watched on TechEd sessions is that as publishing is Global and is unable to use different security groups for different elements of the
suite, then using Office through AppV is only suitable if you will be delivering the whole suite (including Project and Visio) to all of your users. So in a scenario where you’d only want certain elements to be delivered to a handful of users then you’d need
to keep with traditional ESD methods to have this installed onto fat clients and steer clear of XenApp. If wanting to install to XenApp then a lockdown tool like AppSense or AppLocker would also need to be brought into the equation.
Is my understanding above correct or have I missed some options / methods?
If the full Office package is always delivered but a company only has Office licenses and no Project and Visio licenses for all its users, how do they stop Project and Visio being delivered and being available? Or again if you have
this use case is the AppV method one which will be unsuitable?

I know this has been covered a few times already, but none of the previous threads about it were able to help my situation.
Ok so here is what i did:
Exported a JPEG from a timeline in FCP. Brought that JPEG into PS (i am using CS3), and changed the image size from 1920x1080 to 720x480. Then saved as a JPEG, didn't tick any boxes, just used default save as settings.
I then brought those images into my Encore DVD Project, added them to the library, then placed one into a already made menu, and "sent to back".. so it became the new background. I did this with two menu's today. Note i have actually done this same exact process many times without problem. I then tried to build a dvd image of the project, and i got the "this file does not appear to be a photoshop file". Now it won't even let me open those menu's (plus another one, which i made a long time ago, and have even successfully built DVD's with), to edit them. I tried removing all the new JPEGS i added today, from the library, but still i get the same message.
The menu's that i now can't open, took a very long time to make, and i need to have this DVD completed ASAP.. as it is being released world wide in a couple of weeks and i need to get it replicated. So i don't actually have time to remake these menu's. So if anyone can help me, that would be much appreciated, as i have studio exec's cracking down on me.
Thanks in advance :-)Now, if one Imports the JPEG with its extension changed to PSD as a Menu, then the Menu is created, including the necessary Layers. The Menu is NOW a PSD, and when Opened in PS will reflect the Layer structure (try this at home). If one had constructed Buttons in the JPEG, they would now only be graphics on that one single Background Layer in the JPEG. They would not function as Buttons, but could be useful graphics for other things. One would then need to add real Button Layer Sets to the PSD to be able to add any navigation.
Back in the post above, I suggested doing the Save_As to JPEG to see how things get changed. Use that in another test - Import that JPEG as a Menu. In Encore, try to Link to what had originally been Buttons in that Imported JPEG. What happens? Can you Link to them, even though you are now working with the created PSD?
Now, add a Button, or two, from the Library. Choose Edit in Photoshop, and look at the Layer and Layer Set structure. Things have changed from the original JPEG, with only the Background Layer. You now have that Library Button's Layer Set structure.

The only way to Import that JPEG into Encore as a Menu would be to change the file extension to PSD, but what appear to be Buttons would NOT be Buttons, but just static pixels in the Background.

Ok, I used the first edition of Encore in the past, but I just installed the version that came with Premiere CS3. I used Photoshop 6.0 to do my menus in the past, but just installed the trial of Photoshop CS3.
Two things:
My old menus I created in Photoshop 6.0 won't import into the new Encore.
The new menus (I opened my old menus with CS3 and saved them out.) won't import into Encore either. In both cases, Encore says:
"This file does not appear to be a photoshop file."
The files are indeed all photoshop .PSD files and the Photoshop 6.0 files are actually menu files that were in the same .ncor project I used on the old Encore and opened on the new one.
Why won't Encore read these?

The PSD files were originally created in PS 6, and you have Opened them in PS-CS3, from which they were Saved. Correct?
Did CS3 throw any error messages?
You state that they were Menus in Encore. Which version, and did they function perfectly there?
I assume that when used in a previous ver. of Encore, they did function, but now you have Opened, worked on and Saved from PS-CS3. What changes were made?
Was the Color Mode, or Bit-Depth changed, or were Alpha Channels introduced?
Has your OS been changed?
Will these files still Open fine in PS-CS3?
I'm trying to find the point that they ceased to Import, as they should and find out what might have changed with them. You might want to do a bit of a timeline on the life of these files, i.e. 1.) created in PS6. 2.) used as Menus in Encore2. 3.) Opened and changed in PS-CS3 by doing X. 4.) Saved out as PSDs and attempted to Import into Encore CS3 with above error message...
Something has to have changed, and the task is to find out what that is/was.

JAR file does not get uploaded to client for my SERVLET generated APPLET

I have a servlet that generates the HTML code that contains an APPLET. This APPLET needs a JAR file that is listed under its ARCHIVE property. The SERVLET is in a JAR file that is in the same directory as the other needed JAR file. If I create a static HTML with the output of the SERVLET it works fine. But if go through Weblogic the needed JAR file does not get uploaded to the client so I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:and my APPLET does not load.
Q1: I am not sure what to put under the CODEBASE tag. I tried "." and I also tried "http://mymachine" but both did not work. I also tried without the CODEBASE tag. No luck. The SERVLET is bound to http://mymachine/servlet.
Q2: Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? Is there a way to force the browser to upload a certain JAR file?

This is what I did:
The jar file in question was the weblogic.jar. I tried putting it under the lib directory of my war file but I had problems because the weblogic.jar contains other war files inside so when I tried to deploy my war file it also tried to deploy the inner war files which for some reason did not work. So I tried removing the war files from the weblogic.jar and this time I had no problems deploying my war file but I still could not find the classes I needed. So I tried moving the weblogic.jar to the root dir of my war file and it worked!! Now the trick here was: I did not set the CODEBASE AND I had the ARCHIVE paramenter set in TWO places like below:

Actually if you do not place a parameter named ARCHIVE (at the end) it wil NOT work. I tried with multiple jar files listed and it works great too.

Lastly for people who choose not to upload the jar files to clients, you should look at the bea documentation on applets. It lists a classpath servlet that allows you to provide classes to the clients without having to force them to download the jar file. -
Is it possible to include an Icon in a Jar file
that will be displayed for the jar file instead

Thanksno it's not possible as the JAR file does not know anything about the operating system. this is windows dependend. if you want a custom icon for one jar file, create a shortcut to the jar and adjust the icon of this shortcut.

The Apache axis2 jar files are not taking at run time
While running the application I was getting the following errors. The error is getting at run time only. It has compiled successfully.
It ran under eclipse without any issues. But with Apache axis we are getting following error trace while uploading to server. The Apache axis2 jar files are not taking at run time.But compiling successfully.
The application is running under Oracle R12 server.I didn't find any option to set class path for run time in R12 server.

I too am trying to use Axis2 application in R12. But getting the following error:

If I run the application standalone from java command line it works fine. I think the error could be because of some oracle app jars getting picked up inatead of my application jars. How to make sure that my application jars get picked up instead of oracle jars
I tried loading my jar file and then setting it as contextClassLoader using "Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader", but this did not help.

I was running Foxfire 3.6.9 and wanted to use FTP Program add-on and it did not appear to load but appeared but then would be installed but not run or appear under tools. So I deleted Foxfire 3.6.9 and down loaded to 3.5.9 so it could get FTP and it is doing the same could not install. Even after I registered my copy. The last time I used this program it showed up under tools and worked great. any suggestions on whats going on and how I can get around this?.by ralphd3g
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check. -
Adobe icon for pdf download does not appear on a website w/ FF, but does w/ IE,AOL, Chrome. Why?
Have been accessing monthly statements for more than a year, by clicking on the adobe icon in the download statement column, most recently in mid September, 2010. On October 4 I attempted to access September's info and the icon did not appear. I went thru tech support for the site and it was suggested that it could be a flash problem. We tried several corrections, reloading Adobe flash, checking pop up blocker,etc. When Chrome was loaded and the icons appeared, it was determined that the problem was thru FF. I later tried successful access with IE and AOL.
Since I had been successful for so long thru FF, what might have caused FF to fail in this small but important function? Other than usual updates, nothing was done on my part that should have affected my FF browser.Are you using the official Adobe website to download Flash?

Downloaded our web site successfully, however ASPX files cannot find editor to open them.
We have downloaded a copy of our web siote to a local folder. Opens fine, but cannot find editor for ASPX files. What did we miss on setup?

I updated to firefox 6.0.2 and tho my yahoo bar is there, my many buttons are gone! The 'generic' ones yahoo starts you out with are there, but all my former ones are gone! Help!
