what do i do if i have an original idea for an app, but have no programming knowledge?

1) Learn to program.
2) Find an experienced developer and pay him/her to write the app.
3) Find an experienced developer and convince him/her to go into partnership with you on the idea.
4) Suggest it to Apple (unlikely to generate any action unless the app would have very broad appeal, if even then):

iOS/Xcode books are a waste of money. If you must go that route, get something on Obj-C/Cocoa and know that there are iBooks from Apple on those and iOS.

hi i have an idea for an app which i think would be educational and fun and alot of people would be interested but i dont know who i could tell to maybe make the app or tell me if its worth it or not.

All the reputable devs are busy and out of reach.
Apple takes 30% from the price, so you're left to figure profit after knowing how many you will sell/did sell.
Development costs can range from less than USD$10k to six figures or more.
You don't provide details on what category you plan on participating in, so it makes anything but dartboard guessing pretty difficult, sorry

One option is if there is a similar type of app available via the iTunes app store that you like, contact the developer for the app. Without providing much detail about your app idea, ask the developer if they would contract their services to build your app - along with regular maintenance and app updates, etc. Keep in mind that Apple makes the final decision if an app will be available via the iTunes app store - the overwhelming majority of app submittals are approved, but not all based on Apple's written requirements.

Yes, there is a kind of brokerage service available, where you post what you want, and developers can bid on the job. I don't remember what it's called, but the one I'm thinking of is out of West Palm Beach. I think there are a couple of others, too. Sorry I can't be more specific. You might try searching the archives at palmbeachpost.com, since they did an article on the people involved not long ago.

I have a idea for an app but don't know who to tell

I do not know how to create an app but I think it would be a good app if the device could listen to a song and figure out the notes and create sheet music for a piano or other instruments of your choice.

If you think that is an acceptable process, you most likely don't own any music of your own you have interest in protecting.

IDE for developing apps with Iplanet server

I am new to iplanet. Can anyone tell me which IDE is best suited to develop applications that use Iplanet web server.

Hi Krishna,
The iPlanet Web Server includes a Java container, and expected Java applications to be deployed as packaged war files.
You should be able to use any standard IDE that allows you to create war archives for your application. Something like Netbeans for example.

I am out of ideas for my App

Hey people, so my big issue seems to be unique since no one can help me even from microsoft support. I was told to try and contact the developer for further help. My skype app freezes after about 15-30 seconds and then crashes soon after. I never had problem before with skype, but now i cant even use it. I power cycled, uninstalled, removed my profile, followed all steps by microsoft to go through setting and trying to fix it. Nadda. I beg of you skype community, please help!

Sorry to hear about this issue! Few things to clarify:
1. If you log into Xbox with a different account and then launch Skype - will it still crash?
2. Does the same Microsoft account/Skype account work fine on other devices?
3. Do you have a chance to try and log in with this Xbox account on a different Xbox One and see if Skype will work there?

who remembers that amazing computer trivia game by the name of "You Dont Know Jack". come on people this game needs to be in the app store, it is an absolute classic.

An idea for an app for the iPhone.

We are all very aware that applications are fun to use on your iPhone. Apple has come out with exciting games that we all thought they would probably never have;Such as Street Fighter, Sonic The Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, etc. I am a very big fan of games like the ones I have listed above. What I'm trying to ask is, does anyone else feel like maybe they should add some, if not all of the Poke'mon Gameboy games;Such as Yellow version, Crystal Version, Emerald Version, Diamond Version, and so on and so forth? Does anyone else agree that if apple got the permission to produce these games for the iPhone, that they would most likely make a good deal of money considering those games are long and entertaining? I mean, I know that I would totally try being one of the first people to purchase one of those games for my iPhone, because nowadays, Gameboy's are NOT cheap. I believe apple should try putting the Pokemon Gameboy games on the iPhone, do you?

Need a Coder for my App Idea

I have a great idea for an app. But, I am unexperianced, and am lacking some of the nessary matirals.
Basicaly my app is a gambling app. You have bids, that you can buy as In-App purchases. You click on the bid button and a random, four digit number is given each time you do so. Then, every day or week (undecided) a winning number is chosen. The person then wins half the total money earned, and we split 50-50 the remaing money.
Anyone want to help on this? E-Mail me if you are seriously interested for more on the design and such.

Hopefully I am right about this but gambling apps aren't allowed on the App Store.

Also, try your luck in the Developers forums. This isn't the greatest place to pitch dev ideas. I'm in the same boat as you, learning programming when I have the time. It's pretty fun.

Looking for a APP

I saw a TV commercial tonight where someone traveling in Italy says "My father (dad) grew up in this town"
And the iPhone says the sentence in Italian to senior citizen in the town.
Looking for an APP where I speak the sentence and the iPhone then translates.... Any ideas?
In the same commercial he points the phone at store fronts and looks at the screen to see the translations - any ideas for this APP?
I've been on the computer researching for hours and can't find anything.
