Identidy The client process ID

Hello everyone,
I am trying to get the spid of the client process using OS commands and drill down using views like v$process and v$session.
I am not sure what how to get the spid of the client session, when i do ps -ef|grep ora I get all the background process, in these which is the server process ID
of the client connected to ORACLE SERVER.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Your question is a bit unclear.
Assuming you have a client server configuration, and the clients are not located on the server, but on distinct PCs, you won't find any spid for any client process, as the client process doesn't run on the server.
There is a column in v$session though administering the very spid, regrettably I don't remember it from the top of my head.
For Windows clients it will always list <processid>:<threadid>

  • Oracle 9i , what starts the server process

    I'm reading the documentation about the server process which communicates with the client process eg sqlplus. But I'm not sure about how the server process is started. Imagine a server where the instance is not running . I log in via sqlplus /nolog , connect as sysdba and execute the startup command. According to the documentation it is the server process which starts the instance , but what starts the server process. Perhaps it is the sqlplus process. And if i log in using sqlplus over the network , I communicate with the listner, in this case is it the listener which starts the server process. ?

    Hi,
    Take a look:
    "... Some user processes cannot communicate with the dispatcher, so the network listener process cannot connect them to a dispatcher. In this case, or if the user process requests a dedicated server, the listener creates a dedicated server and establishes an appropriate connection."
    Oracle® Database Concepts 10g Release 2 (10.2)
    Process Architecture
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/process.htm#i21918
    How Do Listeners Respond to Connection Requests
    The listener can spawn a new process and pass control of the client session to the process. In a dedicated server environment, every client connection is serviced by its own server-side process. Server-side processes are not shared among clients. Depending on the capabilities of the operating system, two types of dedicated server connections are possible: bequeath connections and redirect connections. Each results in a separate process that handles client processing, but the mechanics of the actual connection initiation process are different.

    I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
    My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
    But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.
    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

    Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

  • How can we tell the client that use process order or production order (proc

    Dear guru,
    My question on what reason we can tell the client that u have to use process order or production order .
    On what scenario we suggest client that use process order or production order

    Hi,
    Process manufacturing is primarily designed for the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries as well as the batch-oriented electronics industry
    Discrete manufacturing is u201Cthe production of distinct items such as automobiles, appliances, or computers,u201D whereas process manufacturing covers u201Cproduction that adds value by mixing, separating, forming, and/or performing chemical reactions. It may be done in either batch or continuous mode.u201D
    Letu2019s think about what your company manufactures. Does it require mixing chemicals? If so, you may need an ERP system that does things like calculate ingredient quantities.
    If your company assembles products from many component parts, youu2019ll require discrete manufacturing functionality
    Other approach:
    If the finish good cannot return back to its basic components, your manufacturing is Process. For instance, the finish good is a can of soda. It cannot return back to its basic components such as carbonated water, potassium benzoate, aspartame, citric acid, and other ingredients. But if the finish good is car or computer, your manufacturing process is Discrete because it can be disassembled and the parts, to a large extent, can be returned to stock. Therefore Bill of Material (BOM) of discrete manufacturing consists of component parts for assembly while Process manufacturing consist of formulas, recipes and other ingredients
    Process manufacturing is scalable. If a formula calls for 1,000 pounds of cake flour, but you only have 500 pounds, you can still bake cakesu2014just not as many. Conversely, in discrete manufacturing, one missing part means waiting for it before the finished assembly unit can start rolling off the production line
    The obligatory requisite for process manufacturing is Lot Potency and Shelf Life where as discrete manufacturing values Serial Numbers, ECNu2019s and assembles.
    If it is discrete manufacturing ---go for Production order
    If it is process manufacturing ---go for process order

  • Exchange Web Services are not currently available for this request because none of the Client Access Servers in the destination site could process the request.

    Hi,
    I am using EWS Java APIs and passing OAuth tokens to fetch data from office 365 mailboxes.
    Because I am developing Web APIs I preferred using "Application Permissions" defined in Azure active directory application for Office 365, and used "client credential flow" OAuth flow to fetch OAuth token specific to application which will
    allow "Have full access via EWS to all mailboxes in the organisation".
    After fetching token with the procedure specified in the document "http://blogs.msdn.com/b/exchangedev/archive/2015/01/21/building-demon-or-service-apps-with-office-365-mail-calendar-and-contacts-apis-oauth2-client-credential-flow.aspx"
    I passed this token to EWS Java APIs,
    it gave me error saying:
    microsoft.exchange.webservices.data.ServiceResponseException: Exchange Web Services are not currently available for this request because none of the Client Access Servers in the destination site could process the request.
    I tried similar thing with EWS managed APIs for .net. Got similar error.
    Can anyone provide some help and direction to resolve this error.
    Thanks & Best Regards,

  • Client process (uniengd) on the Calendar server is consuming 100% CPU usage

    The Calendar client bits in the Communicator 4.5 release (Calendar Build 981008)
    are suspect of hanging the Calendar server when the end user uses the off-line
    feature. The behavior seen will be that a cpu will start climbing and could
    reach 80-100% of usage, which will cause the response time for all other end
    users to be extremely slow and may not even accept any new logins.
    <P>
    The patch for these bits is available via the Smart Update (Windows and Mac) web
    site:
    <P>
    http://home.netscape.com/smartupdate/su1_40.html
    <P> Or you can download the complete version from
    http://home.netscape.com/download/selectplatform_1_361.html
    <P>
    For Unix platforms, you will need to download the compressed tar file
    (available from http://help/filelib.html#nscal)
    and reinstall it.
    <p>NOTE: To verify that you are executing a patched version, in the
    Calendar client:
    <b>Windows platform</b>
    <br>Help menu pulldown, About Netscape Calendar, make sure it has <b>Build
    981104</b> or higher.
    <br><b>Mac platform</b>
    <br>Select the file from your desktop
    <br>File menu pulldown, Get Info. Make sure has a <b>date of 121698, version
    4.51</b> or later.
    <br><b>Unix platform</b>
    <br>Help menu pulldown, About Netscape Calendar, make sure it has is <b>Version
    4.51</b> or higher
    <P>
    The procedure for determining which user of Calendar is causing the server's cpu
    hang is as follows:
    <OL>
    <LI>Using your favorite monitoring tool on the server, note the PID
         (process ID) of the uniengd process that is consuming
    80 - 100% cpu activity.
    <LI>Change directory to /users/unision/db/tmp/PID#
    <LI>Execute the command "strings" on all the files in the directory
         (there are usually not very many):
    <P>
              # strings *
    <P>
         Near the end of the output, you will see the user's name.
    <LI>You can now kill the uniengd process on the server:
    <P>
              # kill PID# (note: do not use the kill -9 unless absolutely
              necessary!)
    <P>
    <LI>Contact the name of the user whose process you looked up and determine
         what version of Calendar client they are using. Immediately inform
         them of your procedure on upgrading to the correct version.

    Hi TrondWH,
    Thanks for contacting Microsoft.
    Currently, would you please try cleaning boot the server and test how the issue goes. Cleaning boot can exclude some third-party application affect. Following are the detailed steps about clean boot:
    Log on to the computer by using an account that has administrator rights.
    Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER to start the
         System Configuration Utility.
    On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box. (The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.)
    On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
    Click OK, Choose Don’t show this message again and then click Restart.
    Please check if the issue is still the same.
    Please let me know the result.

  • How to invoke the Client Sequence Clearup process in the SequencialModel?

    Hi,
    I want to know how to directly call the Client Sequence Clearup in the SequencialModel?
    I don't wait to modify the main squence files, because many of the clearups in sequence files are different. I want realize it by modifying SequencialModel file.
    there are the problem I suffered:
    I have added the some process in clearup like close port, close com, but when I terminate the program, clearup not be executed, I need to modify the SequentialMode to realize that it will jump to the Client main sequence to execute the clearup first when I terminate the process, then execute the other clear process in the sequencialmodel process.
    please help,
    thanks,
    Ivan

    Hi,
    I also faced the same problem in my project. I am not sure whether there are any direct methods, but i achieved it through a round about method.
    1. Create a Boolean station global
    2. Set it to True when you exit the client sequence – as a Last Step in the client sequence clean up tab
    3. Modify the process model to continue the clean up only after the Boolean value is True - may be this should be the first step in the process model's clean up tab
    4. Don’t forget to initialize the Boolean (Set to false) when starting the test
    Hope it helps
    Thanks,
    Sasi

    Hi,
    Anything updates?
    In addition, this issue may also because your client didn't have CA certificate of your domain. Please make sure that your client has CA certificate.
    Besides, the error "The client could not be authenticated because the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) Type cannot be processed by the server" may be due to that the default maximum transmission unit that NPS uses for EAP payloads is 1500
    bytes. You can lower the maximum size that NPS uses for EAP payloads by adjusting the Framed-MTU attribute in a network policy to a value no greater than 1344:
    Configure the EAP Payload Size

  • WLC 4400 : some of the clients are stuck in 802.1x REQD ( Auth - no but status is Associated ) in PEM process

    Hi ,
    I have wlc 4400 with 1010 AP's wireless set-up.
    Everything is working fine but unfortunately , I am coming across with one issue that, clients are not getting authenticated.
    If I see the status of respective client  in WLC :
    status : Associated
    Auth : No
    Policy manager : 802.1X REQD
    I read about PEM ( Policy enforcement Module ) , as it is going through same procedure but policy manager should in " RUN " condition , Unfortunately it is not.
    how do i resolve this issue ?

    Hi Vinod,
    The 802.1X_REQD state would suggest that the client cannot complete L2 authentication.
    If possible, it would be helpful to collect the following debugs from the WLC while trying to connect the client:
    debug client
    debug aaa event enable
    Also, please attach the full text output of the command "show run-config" and let us know the WLAN through which the client should be connecting.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 site server client installation error: The client version 5.00.7958.1000 does not match the MP version 5.00.7804.1000.

    Hello,
    When I try to install the client on the site server itself it gives me this error message and fails the ccmsetup. I only have this on the site server. Clients to other servers and computers are pushed fine. If I check the version of the MP it says 5.00.7958.1000
    in ADSI. I removed the MP object in CN=System, CN=System Management. Waited for it to be regenerated automatically by SCCM but the installation doesn't work still.
    I tried to install with several methods including directly from ccmsetup.exe in ccmsetup folder, pushing by sccm itself, running from commandline, ...
    I run SCCM 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and the database on SQL 2008 on Server 2008 R2

    I agree with Idan. You can easily remove the Management Point Site System role and add it again with no adverse effect. This should solve your problem.

  • SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service - Unable to activate worker process proxy object within the worker process

    Issue:
    On a vanilla installation, the sandboxed code service (e.g. SPUCHostService.exe) is started; however, SPUCWorkerProcessProxy.exe and subsequently SPUCWorkerProcess.exe fails to start.
    Resolution/Workarounds attempted:
    Attempted 2 different Load balancing settings – local and remote (i.e. affinity)
    Ensured local computer policy on server for ‘RPC Endpoint Mapper Client Authentication’ and ‘Restrictions for Unauthenticated RPC clients’ is disabled.
    Ensured following key in registry is set properly - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\RPC
    Attempted to bypass SharePoint’s check for certificate revocations at crl.microsoft.com
    Ensured the service account is added to the respective groups (e.g. Performance Log Users, Performance Monitor Users, IIS_IUSRS, WSS_ADMIN_WPG, WSS_WPG)
    Increased limit of ‘AbnormalProcessTerminationCount’ of SPUserCodeService via Powershell
    We have tried all possible workarounds from the following MSDN reference:

    Any other insights on how I can troubleshoot the issue described?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi ,
    For resolving your issue , you can do as the followings:
    1. Logged into the Web Server with the Timer Service Account.
    2. Ran the powershell command to check the SID of the account running the spucworkerprocessproxy.exe:
    $(Get-SPManagedAccount -Identity "THE SERVICE ACCOUNT").Sid.Value
    3. Checked the registry :
    HKEY_USERS\[SID OF THE SERVICE ACCOUNT]\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing\State
    4. Changed the value 0x00023c00 to 0x00023e00

  • Async tcp client and server. How can I determine that the client or the server is no longer available?

    Hello. I would like to write async tcp client and server. I wrote this code but a have a problem, when I call the disconnect method on client or stop method on server. I can't identify that the client or the server is no longer connected.
    I thought I will get an exception if the client or the server is not available but this is not happening.
    private async void Process()
    try
    while (true)
    var data = await this.Receive();
    this.NewMessage.SafeInvoke(Encoding.ASCII.GetString(data));

    Hi,
    Have you debug these two applications? Does it go into the catch exception block when you close the client or the server?
    According to my test, it will throw an exception when the client or the server is closed, just log the exception message in the catch block and then you'll get it:
    private async void Process()
    try
    while (true)
    var data = await this.Receive();
    this.NewMessage.Invoke(Encoding.ASCII.GetString(data));
    catch (Exception exception)
    Console.WriteLine(exception.Message);
    Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing   connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
    By the way, I don't know what the SafeInvoke method is, it may be an extension method, right? I used Invoke instead to test it.

  • Accessing print services in the client machine(browser)

    Query: We had migrated a forms-3 form to forms-6i. The forms-3 form used a userexit to call a related Pro*C functionality that helped finally to print the report file generated during the process into the client machine's printer.
    How do we take care of this functionality in forms-6i? That is, the user should be able to do the printing from the forms screen in the browser..
    Please help..

    Thank you for replying..
    We have earlier tried the web.show_document procedure to call the .html or .txt file....But in forms-3(back-end on a UNIX server with the Pro*Cs), an ascii file was created at the server side in the client's home directory, and this file was accessed and used from the front-end machine(a UNIX terminal or a QVTTerm like application on Windows), to be printed out onto the printer device configured on the client machine...As in your reply, through web.show_document also the printing can be finally done..But the user has to wait for the new browser window to get opened and show the content and then print it...These steps were not needed in forms-3, that is, on a click of the print-related-button, it did the job...So, in the same way, can something be done on the forms-6i form(use a printer-javabean or something else), to get the functionality???
    Please help..

    Hi Kal,
    since we're currently evaluating the software and haven't acquired a license, we cannot contact support.
    I only need to know if this is a solved bug or not. Does it have to do with the classloading process (I cannot think of anything else)?
    Thank you again very very much!
    Cheers,
