Identify Firewalllog Connections via VPNlog Connections

Hello everybody,
after getting some other issues running, i'm stucking again.
I have to tables: FIREWALLLOG and VPNLOG
FIREWALLLOG Format:      Date, Time, Timestamp, SourceIP, DestIP
VPNLOG Format:               Date, Time, Timestamp, InternalIP, DestIP, OriginalClientIP, Username
I want to identify firewalllog entries over the vpnlog entries.
In some cases, the OriginalClientIP = DestIP from Firwalllog. So i want to add the username to the firewalllog entries, if OriginalClientIP = DestIP from Firewalllog.
I tried a join of both tables, and it worked, but i then got the same Firewall entrie many times, because there are maybe 20 entries in vpn with the OriginalClientIP = DestIP condition.
So it has something to do with distinct values. is it possible, to filter out all distinct OriginalClientIP of a User and then join them with the firewalllog?

Hi,
in order to identify clients I maintain a hash with references to
the clients. The clients register and unregister with special
remote methods of the server RMI object.
I didn't see an API in RMI to do this for me. And it was fairly easy to implement.
Have fun,

  • How to identify different connections/clients from RMIServer???

    Anyone knows how one can do to identify different connections or clients from the implementation/server-object in RMI?? Do I have to send a hostname from the client via method parameter?? If so, any recommendations on which unique name to use??
    Would really appreciate any answer to this!!! - thanx in advance!
    ps; tried currentThread.getName(), but it would return different names from same client (changing at each call).

  • Iphone Carrier Search Buggy?  Takes 20 minutes to identify and connect?

    I work, live, and travel in Europe. My iphone is from T-Mobile netherlands - and I have another that is a US iphone (travel a lot). The most annoying thing about the phone is landing in a new country (travel 4-5 countries a week) and have to wait 20 minutes or longer in some instances for the Iphone to identify and connect to a new carrier. Also - if mobile (meaning in a taxi) it doesn't work at all - I have found I must be stationary for 20 minutes in order for the phone to connect. This is very annoying as first thing you want to do when you land is call colleagues to alert them to your arrival - plan a meeting spot - and call a client to the let them know you are on the way - none of which you can do till 1/2 hour after arrival. Is this a known bug? Are there known ways to fix this?

    And I thought I was the only one... so it is an iPhone issue. In my case, sometimes even after returning to "home" network, I cannot get connection. The second last time this happened, I did not manage to get the signal till the morning so Vodafone Ireland happily replaced the SIM which appeared to fix the problem. I've just returned from the UK and it took the phone over 1 hour to find the network. Crazy!
    I've tried all the usual tricks.. Restarting phone, resetting network settings, changing network type, taking out SIM card... it appeared to respond immediately after I connected it to the USB port, HOWEVER this has nothing to do with iTunes Carrier update - my box is happily running Linux. So... may be completely unrelated.
    I found few other posts of people complaining about this particular problem...

  • Time Capsule Can't Identify Wireless Connection

    So, I have a brand new MacBook Pro and I have a Time Capsule that I am trying to set up. I attempted without the Ethernet cord to begin with, but the amber light continued to blink so I looked in the instructions to see that I should use and ethernet cord, but the AirPort doesn't recognize my apartments wireless connection with or without the cord. What can I do? I am a new Mac user and don't know if I did something wrong or not, Please help me!

    OK, let us start over. When you originally stated "my apartments wireless connection" I assumed wrongly that this was a wireless service provided by your apartment management. However it appears from your other posts that you have a wireless router which is creating this wireless network for yourself. That makes it easier.
    Disconnect and power off the Time Capsule.
    Is your Time Capsule going to be physically located near the wireless router or did you want it located elsewhere?
    If the Time Capsule is going to be physically located near the wireless router, connect the Time Capsule to the wireless router via Ethernet.
    Do a hard reset of the Time Capsule. You can refer to Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule FAQ.
    On your MacBook Pro, use AirPort Utility to wirelessly configure the Time Capsule:
    If the Time Capsule is not going to be physically located near the wireless router, you will configure the Time Capsule to wirelessly join the network provided by the wireless router.
    If the Time Capsule is going to be physically located near the wireless router, you will configure the Time Capsule to act as a bridge (not sharing an IP address).
    Please let me know if you have problems with any of those steps.

  • Ipod detected but not identified when connected - so won't work

    Every time I connect my ipod nano to my computer (power book g4) I get a response - "An ipod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the ipod then try again."
    I have tried this many times and keep getting the same response. The ipod has worked before on this computer no problem. I recently had my system reloaded at a 'genius bar' and I wonder if this might be part of the problem.
    I have tried rebooting both the ipod and the computer but the problem persists.
    Any suggestions gratefully received.

    I had this problem today, but I was connecting the iPod to a Windows laptop. I had to disconnect and reconnect it several times before it identified it "properly."

  • Identify Wireless Connection

    I did not know that I had a wireless connection in my office until I forgot to plug in the ethernet connection this morning. When I open Airport to view the list of network connections, there's a check mark next to something called "dlink" in addition to the usual listing of my neighbors' networks (which are all locked).
    How can I identify what "dlink" is and how my MBP found it and automatically connected. I don't want to use anyone else's connection and compromise my security.
    Thanks.

    The software iStumbler can give you a better live update as to the strength of the signal than the Airport menu.
    Moving your notebook around to different locations in the office, being careful not to drop it, you can map out where the signal is stronger. That will allow you to identify the router. If it is in your office, inform your IT manager the should add WPA security at bare minimum to it. An open connection like that is a security risk not only to you, but anyone else who uses the network in your office tied to that router.

  • Identifying OS connecting to exchange 2013

    Hi
    We would like to figure out a way to see all different kind of operating systems which are connecting to our Exchange 2013 server. Not only for ActiveSync devices, also for the Outlook Anywhere devices.
    In the past we used ExMon with Exchange 2007 but I haven't found any solution for Exchange 2013 so far.
    Any suggestions for a good tool or if possible by PowerShell, a Script to get all the Operating Systems?
    Thanx

    Hi Wayne,
    Base on my knowledge, I don't think there is a tool could get all the client Operating Systems, include ExMon.
    Using ExMon, administrators can view the following, but no client OS information:
    IP addresses used by clients
    Microsoft Office Outlook® versions and mode, such as Cached Exchange Mode and classic online mode
    Outlook client-side monitoring data
    Resource use, such as:
    CPU usage
    Server-side processor latency
    Total latency for network and processing with Outlook 2003 and later versions of MAPI
    Network bytes
    Do you mean that get all client outlook version ?Right?
    If it is right, I recommend you can use Log Parser to analyse the RPC Client Access logs on the Mailbox servers.
    The RPC Client Access logs are stored in the \Logging\RPC Client Access folder of the Exchange installation path, eg
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\RPC Client Access.
    The log files are in CSV format and therefore can be analysed using Log Parser. Two of the fields of interest are:
    client-software
    client-software-version

  • Identifying WiFi status via settings of iOS 7 SDK

    Hi,
    I wanna identify, via code,  if Wi-Fi is enabled/disabled on a device, irrespective of the connection status. My purpose is to solely identify if the device Wi-Fi is ON or OFF. It may or maynot be connected to an active network. I am aware that we can identify the reachability status using the Reachability class.

  • Identify if Approved via SRM inbox or by email

    Hi,
    Is there a way of identifying which Shopping Carts were 'Approved' from within the SRM inbox and which ones via email?
    Regards,
    John

    Basically if a SC approved via offline email, It should be proceed by WF-BATCH user ID (I mean the inbound email) and passed the decision to the workitem.. There should be some standard workflow table should be there to store this log..
    I will try to find you..
    Note: your concentration should be more on workflow standards tables only..
    Thanks!!

  • Identifying Synthetic Fields via Reflection

    Hi all,
    I was wondering what the proper way is for identifying synthetic fields using the Reflection API. I am running into a problem involving the infamous "this$0" field, similar to the problem described in http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=4&threadID=484024 .
    I need to traverse object graphs in a certain manner, and this$0 sends me into an endless loop unless I specifically exclude it. However, just going by the name "this$0" is not a safe way to indentify a synthetic field, as older compilers, or even the not-so-old Eclipse compiler, allow you to call any field "this$0". Therefore, a field named "this$0" may or may not be an actual synthetic field that links to the enclosing class instance.
    Eclipse JDT bindings have a method 'isSynthetic()' but something like that does not exist in the Reflection API (at least I couldn't find it).
    Does the Reflection API provide a safe way to check for the Synthetic attribute of a field?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mirko Raner
    Parasoft Corp.

    I tried that, in the hope the flag would also be present in pre-1.5 VMs, but unfortunately that's not the case. Up to JDK 1.4, synthetic fields were actually marked as an attribute, not as a flag. The actual flag that distinguishes synthetic fields was not introduced until JDK 1.5.
    Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. It looks like my problem can only be solved with a hack (i.e., always assume "this$0" is synthetic) in pre-1.5 environments.

  • Identify new account via recon?

    I have a simple requirement to send an email notification when encountering a new account on a resource that was not provisioned through IDM.
    I have attempted to use a "perAccountWorkflow" during recon to try and determine if the account is new, but am having difficulties. I have tried several different approaches:
    1. In my perAccountWorkflow I check to make sure the recon that is running is "incremental". This was done assuming that only "new" accounts would be acted upon during this type of reconciliation. Unfortunately, accounts that have been added,deleted,disabled,enabled are all included in the incremental recon process.
    2. In my perAccountWorkflow, I check the initialSituation of the account for a status of "Found". This works perfectly for DB Table Resources, but does not work for Windows Active Directory resources. I am getting an initialSituation of "Unmatched".
    Has anyone done something similar, and got this to work properly?
    Thanks!

    Hi
    U may need to add a rule to recon to check for the status of each account to check if it is disabled, created or new. it may require to add additional schema attributes based on ur requirment.
    Thanks

  • Identifying connection/datasource by application name, machine and user

    Hi,
    I am implementing a Java app to gather few connection related statistics. As part of this, in the JDBC layer, I want to identify the connection by app name, os/app user and client's machine name. I searched for all the ways an oracle app would set these attributes. I have some queries around them, will be grateful if somone can respond and clarify them. Here are my findings/observations
    *1. DataSource.setConnectionProperties() with v$session param and values for program, osuser, machine*
    It appears setting the v$session.program, v$session.osuser and v$session.machine on datasource is a preferred way to set the client information for v10.2 and higher. Is my assumption that this is the predominant/preferred way oracle apps would set the client information valid ?
         Properties props = new Properties();
         props.put("v$session.program", "OracleApp");
         props.put("v$session.osuser", "human");
         props.put("v$session.machine", "dale");
         ds.setConnectionProperties(props);*2. OracleConnection.setClientData() with key-value*
    There is a method setClientData but available only with OracleConnection as class referrence (needs cast). It seems to be a deprecated in 10g. Does anyone know why is this deprecated and replaced by what ? Hope it is not deprecated due to JDBC 4.0 spec, which is not supported by Oracle
         OracleConnection conn_ = (OracleConnection) con;
         conn_.setClientData("ApplicationName", "OracleApp");
         conn_.setClientData("ClientHostname", "dale");
         conn_.setClientData("ClientUser", "human");*3. Connection.setClientInfo() with ApplicationName, ClientHostname, ClientUser*
    Apparently, JDBC 4.0 has exposed api-s to set/get clientInfo values that I am looking for. But surprisingly, oracle doesn't seem to have correctly implemented these methods. I get SQLClientInfoException for the above values and when I do DatabaseMetaData.getClientInfoProperties I get empty Properties object. Does this indicate 0 keys are supported ? Or is there any special setting/configuration I have to executed to allow setting of keys?
         ResultSet clientInfoProperties = con.getMetaData().getClientInfoProperties();
         while (clientInfoProperties.next()) { // next() returns false
              System.out.println(clientInfoProperties.getString(1));
         Properties properties = new Properties();
         properties.put("ApplicationName", "OracleApp");
         properties.put("ClientHostname", "dale");
         properties.put("ClientUser", "human");
         con.setClientInfo(properties);
         // throws java.sql.SQLClientInfoException and e.getFailedProperties() returns
         // {ClientUser=REASON_UNKNOWN, ApplicationName=REASON_UNKNOWN, ClientHostname=REASON_UNKNOWN}
         // and e.getMessage() returns Invalid or unsupported name for clientInfo.*4. Other ways to set/get client info using connection or datasource ?*
    Apart from the above, are there other ways to set/get client info on connection or datasource objects ? how do oracle apps in general handle this kind of need.
    If someone has some insight on my queries, will appreciate if you can spare some time replying to this thread.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    bumping it up. Can anyone help ?
