Identifying source IP in sticky table on ACE
Hi,
A newbie question :-)
How can I see a real source IP address of a sticky table entry on ACE running 2.1.1 code?
If I do "show sticky database" I see a hash value, but not IP itself. In CSM the command shows the source IP, but not on ACE....
Thanks!
David
Well there is no command to get what you are looking for. Infact you can find a bug CSCsg58769 in this regard in bugtoolkit.
Previously it used to be IP in decimal format and was needed to be converted to IP dotted quad."I think" some change has been made to the code.
There are some other ways to workaround it
for example
If you want to see stciky database entries for a given client ip you can use
sh sticky database client
If you want to see stciky database entries for a given rserver you can use
sh sticky database rserver

Hi,
We are having trouble while importing one ledger 'GERMANY EUR GGAAP'. It works for Dec 2014 but while trying to import data for 2015 it gives an error.
Import error shows " RuntimeError: No periods were identified for loading data into table 'AIF_EBS_GL_BALANCES_STG'."
I tried all Knowledge docs from Oracle support but no luck. Please help us resolving this issue as its occurring in our Production system.
I also checked all period settings under Data Management> Setup> Integration Setup > Global Mapping and Source Mapping and they all look correct.
Also its only happening to one ledger rest all ledgers are working fine without any issues.
ThanksHi,
there are some Support documents related to this issue.
I would suggest you have a look to them.

Unique Identifier in MDM Profisee Stage table
Hi team,
I am new to MDM profisee tool and currently working for Addres verification project for my organization.
I wanted to clear my doubts here about Unique Identifer in Stage table and how it works.. Here what i understand till now:
Step 1) I created an Entity using MDM profisee UI and it generated a stage table in MDS database called stg.Address_leaf
Step 2) I have loaded data from external source to MDS stage table using ETL and passed Import type as 2 and Import status id as 0
Step 3) I have run store procudure system generated something stg.udp_Address_leaf to load the model and passed the version name as Version_1, Log flag as '1' and Batch tag as 'Address'
Now my below are my questions:
1) What is the field i can use in MDS stage table to populate my unique intifier value coming from source? (lets say Address_Id is my Unique value for all the records coming from source)
2) Where/how Unique Identifier is useful in this process? Will this be helpful in next time load from stage to Model?
3) If i truncate and load my MDS stage table in next run and few earlier records has been updated how it will update those records in Model? will this process (code present in SP) recognize by Unique Identier column present in MDS stage table?
I may have few more questions on this process but wanted to start from here.
Thanks,
AkashThanks David for your reply.
So instead of i use Auto generate to populate Code attribute, i can load Code Attribute during loading the stage table with my source unique values.
And then later on, when i will have new updated values coming in for a member record, Stored procedure will use that code attribute value and update the model accrodingly for the changed values for the member?
i need to use Import type as 2 in this case.
Example:
I have existing record in MDS staging table let's say
Code, City, Zip, Import type, Import status
0001, Chicago,61000,2,0
In next load run, i first truncate the data from MDS staging and now i have updated row for existing code ‘0001’ where Zip code values changed from previous 61000 to 61001:
Code, City, Zip, Import type, Import status
0001, Chicago,61001,2,0
In this case, when we execute the SP, it will update the Zip code in Model using Code as unique indentifier. and no duplicates will occur.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks,

Exploring CSS 11503 sticky table / sticky mask
Hi All
I am currently undergoing some testing with a client.
We have a VIP load balancing 8 instances. We are testing with the following configs
content test-test
add service a
add service b
add service c
add service d
add service e
add service f
add service g
add service h
vip address 10.10.10.1
flow-timeout-multiplier 225
sticky-mask 255.255.255.252
redundant-index 1000
port 443
protocol tcp
advanced-balance sticky-srcip-dstport
sticky-inact-timeout 360
balance leastconn
active
We have traffic been sourced from 32 IP addresses and want all 8 instances to be used/hit, but this is not happening in all instances.
(from the above config, 4 consecutive IPs will be stuck to the same instance based on the sticky mask -- yes?)
For instance I would expect the following: with the Test IP addresses used based on the sticky mask:
10.120.1.168
10.120.1.169
10.120.1.170
10.120.1.171
(to be stuck to maybe instance a)
10.120.1.176
10.120.1.177
10.120.1.178
10.120.1.179
(to be stuck to maybe instance b)
I have tried the following command during tests:
show sticky-table l4-sticky ipaddress 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.252 443
and get an empty table back.
L4 Sticky List on Slot 1, subslot 1:
Entries for page 1.
Entry Hash Rule Rule Srv Srv Time(Sec) Hit Col Elem Inact
Number Value Indx State Indx State Elapsed Cnt Cnt Type Cfg(Min)
Total number of entries found is 0.
L4 Sticky List on Slot 2, subslot 1:
Entries for page 1.
Entry Hash Rule Rule Srv Srv Time(Sec) Hit Col Elem Inact
Number Value Indx State Indx State Elapsed Cnt Cnt Type Cfg(Min)
Total number of entries found is 0.
I would like to ascertain what source IP address is been stuck to what load balanced instance at any one time.
I have tried looking at the flow table but, that clears out quite quicky so not really an accurate method.

Can I see how long the longest entry has been in the sticky table ?
Hi,
I have a customer who has a possible issue with the sticky inactivity timeout on the CSS. At the moment we are using no timeout, just relying on the CSS to purge the entries.
However, is it possible to see how long the longest entry has been in the sticky table. I can see the 'elapsed time' with the 'show sticky' command but this only shows 100 entries per time and not in time order ?
Thanks in advance for any helpMichael,
You can use the command "show sticky-table" with L3 or L4 options, depending on what you have configured, then add ip addressing to the command, to focus down to where the oldest sticky entries are likely to be, but theres no other way. If your problem is having too many entries, configure a sticky timeout, as the default of 0 will keep then forever, or until overwritten due to the table being full. If the problem is sticky entries timing out too early, you can use the timeout parameter to increase their life, but the sticky table is limited to 32k entries.

Creation of a generic extractor and data source for the FAGLFLEXA table
Hi All,
Need to create a generic extractor and data source for the FAGLFLEXA table to support AR reporting. This table contains the necessary profit center information to perform LOB reporting against the AR data.
Please advice on how to do this.
Regards, VishalHi Vishal,
Its seems a simple a work out.
1.Go to RSO2 & choose the relevant option ie. whether you want to create Transactional DS, Master Data DS or Text DS.
2. Name it accordingly & then create.
3. Give description to it & then give table name FAGLFLEXA.
4. Save it & activate. If you need it to be delta enabled then click over Delta & you can choose accordingly.
If you still face some problem then do mail me at [email protected]
Assign points if helpful

Identifying duplicate records in a table
I am trying to identify duplicate records in a table - well they are broadly duplicated but some of the fields are changed on each insert whilst others are always the same.
I can't work out the logic and it is driving me #$%$#^@ crazy !Here are a couple of other examples:
Method 1: -- Makes use of the uniqueness of Oracle ROWIDs to identify duplicates.
=========
To check for single column duplicates:
select rowid, deptno
from dept outer
where
outer.rowid >
(select min(rowid) from dept inner
where inner.deptno=outer.deptno)
order by deptno;
To check for multi-column (key) duplicates:
select rowid, deptno, dname
from dept outer
where
outer.rowid >
(select min(rowid) from dept inner
where inner.deptno| |inner.dname=outer.deptno| |outer.deptno)
order by deptno;
Method 2: -- Makes use of resultset groups to identify uniqueness
=========
To check for single column duplicates:
select rowid, deptno
from dept
where
deptno in
(select deptno from dept group by deptno having count(*) > 1)
order by deptno;
To check for multi-column (key) duplicates:
select rowid, deptno, dname
from dept
where
deptno| |dname in
(select deptno| |dname from dept group by deptno| |dname having count(*) > 1)
order by deptno;

How to identify migrated rows on a table
Hi, folks,
I'm wondering how to identify migrated rows on a table.
I understand that ANALYZE generates data into CHAINED_ROWS. The Oracle document implies that this table has both CHAINED ROWS and MIGRATED ROWS. FYI:
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/general.htm#sthref1881
But how can I tell migrated rows from chained rows.
Thanks!

Question about the CSS behavior when using layer 3 sticky and sticky table
Hi everyone,
I have a question about the CSS behavior when using layer 3 sticky and sticky table is full.
If I configure layer 3 sticky and specify the inactivity timeout as below, how does the CSS
handle subsequent needed sticky requests ?
advanced-balance sticky-srcip
sticky-inact-timeout 30
CSS document says that
Note:
If you use the sticky-inact-timeout command to specify the inactivity timeout
period on a sticky connection, when the sticky table becomes full and none of
the entries have expired from the sticky table, the CSS rejects subsequent
needed sticky requests.
My question is what is the next reaction by doing the CSS if the CSS is in the
following condition:
when the sticky table becomes full and none of the entries have expired from
the sticky table, the CSS rejects subsequent needed sticky requests
Does CSS just rejects/drops subsequent needed sticky requests ?
or
Does CSS does not stick subsequence requests to particular service but CSS forward
subsequence requests with round-robin basis ? which means if the sticky table is full,
the CSS just works round-robin load balancing fashion for subsequence requests ?
Your information would be appreciated.
Best regards,Hello,
There is a good document explaining this on Cisco web site
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/contnetw/ps789/products_tech_note09186a0080094b4b.shtml
It depends if the sticky-inact-timeout is used or not. If not, it's FIFO (the oldest entry in the sticky table is removed). If yes, the CSS will reject the next sticky request.

Gaetan
