Idoc as external definition for occurance change - interface use

Hello,
never used this.
Found this blog from Michael
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/04/xi-idoc-bundling--the-trick-with-the-occurance-change
Question is...
When I import the Idoc as external definition then I need to add it into a message interface because it cannot be used
like original Idoc which is used as message interface?
Thank you in advance !
Best regards
Dirk

When I import the Idoc as external definition then I need to add it into a message interface because it cannot be used
like original Idoc which is used as message interface?
You dont have to use it in Message interface....the standard IDOC can be used in the Interface Mapping Directly....even Michal mentioned the same in the blog Step 6....in case you missed it.

Abhishek.

  • Possible? Using External Definitions for data type/message type definitions

    Hi all,
    i want to use external definitons in my own data type definitions. Is that possible? And if yes, how?
    I imported many definitions via a mass import. Now I also want to use these definitions for further interfaces (than the imported ones). The most convenient would be of course to just use them as a custom created type. Can I somehow "convert" an external definition to a data type/message type?
    KR
    Felix

    Hello Felix,
          The External defination which you has been imported that cant use in DT and MT but yeah you can use this in Service interface.
    you cant modify that External defination if you want to do that then 1st of all modify it and then reimport it as an another external defination.
    and creating service interface with this ED you can use it in your message mapping .
    i hope this will help to you to clear your doubt.

  • Container definition for Abstract Synchronus Interface

    I am trying the simple scenario where the bpm process consumes soap request message (opens S/A bridge). After it queries another web services and sends back synchronously soap response, closing S/A bridge.
    I've walked through different weblogs and forum posts but still not getting how the interface variables should be created in this case.
    All my abstract interfaces are synchronous, and container definition for category "Abstract type" is only for Asynchronous interfaces.
    Should I create two additional asynchronous interfaces with the same request/response message names to be able create interface variables?
    And if message names are different in both soap calls should I create 4?
    Thanks,
    Evgeni
    scenario is similar to the one described in the weblog https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1403 [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    but without call to the legacy system and instead of JDBC it is another webservice.

    Hi, thanks for replay,
    >So this Abstract interface is used in the Receive step of the BPM(opening of the Sync/Async Bridge).
    I've created Abs Sync interface and used it in the Receive step. My problem is I can not assign value to the Message Name in the step Properties.
    To assign value I need first create container. To create container I need provide Type, which can be selected from the list of the "Message interfaces". But the list displays only Async Abs interfaces not Sync. How I should create container for Sync Request message?
    Looking on the help link you provided. How I should create following:
    Container
       Request
         BpmPatternBridgeRequest
       Response
         BpmPatternBridgeResponse
    Kind regards,
    Evgeni.

  • Issue with external WSDL in own Outbound interface using SOAP UI

    Hello,
    this is the issue:
    a) Imported an external WSDL to PI as external definition
    b) Added external definition to a sync. Service interface
    c) Completed configuration and created a WSDL from the sender agreement in Directory (this is PI 7.1)
    d) imported the WSDL from c) to soap UI which we are using for testing interfaces
        (already successful with other sync interface where the WSDL from c) contains a message type created in PI
    e) testing this interface results in an error:

    Is there any restriction with external definitions to be used in PI which could be the reason for this strange behaviour?
    The implementation contained a message type created in PI earlier which was running successful!
    The problem came up with the external definition!
    Thank you for your help!
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hi,
    the problem is not the mapping as it is 1:1 with the same message on both sides.
    But when I replace the "com"s with "ns0" and "props" with "ns0:props" in the request in soap UI
    the payload will be accepted and mapping is successful!
    So the issue is about the modification soap UI is doing on the imported WSDL.
    a) Generated request in soap UI from imported WSDL:  FAILS in PI!!!!
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:com="http://test.ap.com/sys/common/">

             </com:Property>
          </props>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    b) Modified request in soap UI from imported WSDL: WILL BE PROCESSED IN PI
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns0="http://test.ap.com/sys/common/">
       <soapenv:Header/>
       <soapenv:Body>

             <ns0:Property>
                <!You may enter the following 2 items in any order>
                <ns0:PropertyName>B</ns0:PropertyName>
                <ns0:PropertyValue>5</ns0:PropertyValue>
             </ns0:Property>
          </ns0:props>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    But is there any possibility to avoid this effect in soap UI?

  • File to IDOC, with External Definition to hold multiple IDocs

    Hello Experts,
    I am configuring a sample File to IDOC scenario. Here are the steps I am following, can you please guide me what I am missing here.
    I am having a flat file with 10 records to be transferred to my ECC system through IDOC adapter to create 10 different IDocs.
    1. I am picking up my flat file using a 3rd party Business System with File Content Conversion
    2. I uploaded CREMAS Idoc and exported as XSD file and modified Occurences paramter to unbounded and uploaded back as an External file definition into IR
    3. I defined an SAP WEBAS ABAP type Business System with LS (representing my ECC system) and configured with IDOC Rcvr channel.
    4. In the IDOC recvr Channel, I specified RFC destination pointing to my ECC system & Port, Release...etc
    5. On the ECC side, I configurated a PARTNER PROFILE with the above mentioned LS(used in step 3) and added an Inbound Idoc paramter CREMAS with process code CRE1. Selected the option Trigger Immediately.
    Testing:
    1. When I checked my CC monitoring in RWB, my file on the sourced is getting picked up successfull with respect to the specified polling intervals.
    2. I don;t see any messages in my SXMB_MONI. I verified SXMB_ADM configuration it looks fine to me
    3. I used TCode:WE02 on ECC side, nothing is there
    4. I used Tcode SM58 on ECC side, nothign is there
    I have no idea what is happening after successfully picking up the file on the source side.
    Is there a way to trace where exactly the error is or what is wrong with my scenario?
    Just an observation, We don;t need to specifiy any LS on the Sender Business Sytem(3rd party in my case) which picks up my file on the source side. Rather I am specifiying LS on the Target Business Sytem(type WEBAS ABAP in my case) to send my IDOC to ECC system. I am using the same LS to define PP on ECC system.
    Edited by: Chris Rock on Oct 21, 2008 5:03 PM

    Aamir,
    I tried full cache refresh, also cleared SLD Cache for both IR & ID. No luck.
    I think either some thing wrong in connection parameters, but atleast if I see some error in Moni or RWB, it helps, but in my situation, nothing is showing up there.
    Connections:
    I specified PORT & RFC Dest in IDOC RCVR Adapter along with WEBAS Release version. These PORT & RFCs are created in XI using SM59 & IDX1 and both passed the connection test.
    On the ECC side, I created a PP with inbound Idoc CREMAS and process code as CRE1. This PP uses the LS that was used in RCVR BS specified in XI side.
    I also loaded Idoc meta data into XI with Tcode: IDX2
    Please help me, any body. I will sincerely award the points.

  • How to format an external drive for mac AND pc use

    i want to format my external drive so i can use it on my mac and on pc's as well. i've gathered that the MS-DOS format is the way to go. my question is this: would this create any problems for my mac then?
    can i partion one part for ms-dos and part for macos extended?
    cheers
    -j-

    MS-DOS format (or FAT32) will be fine for both Mac and PC. However there is a 4GB file size limit with FAT32.
    You could use a dual partition, however the HFS+ partition would not be readable by the PC unless you installed the third party MacDrive.
    Look at this page for more information on a dual partition drive for Mac and Windows.

    There are a couple of disadvantages with formatting a
    disk as FAT32. Firstly, there is a limit on the file
    size for FAT32. I think it like 2 GB so if you
    capturing video the results will probably not fit
    into this file limit. Secondly FAT32 will not be
    bootable. I alway clone my system to a backup disk as
    bootable. That way if anything goes wrong with my
    system, I can just boot from my backup disk and fix
    it.
    The problem with doing this though is that the drive will not be usable with Windows (which was in the original posting) unless you use the third party MacDrive software on the PC.

  • Idoc - External Definitions Error

    Hi,
    I had to change the occurences of an exisiting idoc.  I had imported the xsd,changed the occurrences and reloaded it using WSDL structure.
    When i load the external definition in the mapping structure, it is giving me the following error.
    Object External Message Z_INVOICE02_MULTI |  INVOIC.INVOIC02.ZINVOIC02 | urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages not found
    Please note that when i had imported the xsd, i had removed the target namespace.

    Hi Sai,
    i need to add an additional field to the existing IDOC structure
    Is there any specific reason for usign IDOC as external definition (are you changing the occurance of IDOC)?
    what is your sender and receiver system?
    Are you expecting the value for this addition field to be populated by sap along with the rest of IDOC data? if yes then ,get a custom IDOC created in SAP with the required field.
    Or if you want to populate this additional field in PI usign any logic (assuming you are sending to any non sap system), then you can create a new ED for the targert , just export
    the ED to desktop , open with any xml editor (xml spy or microsoft  visual studio 2005) and navigate to the portion of xsd which you want to edit add the field -> reimport in PI and  use it as your target strucuture.You cannot edit ED directly in ESR.

  • Scenario proxy to soap synchronous with external definitions

    Hi all,
    I have a problem with my scenario.
    In development environment all is working fine, but when I have transported to preproduction environment and we have executed my scenario I have the following error:
    <SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: http://geisiedes.endesa.es/WSRespuesta/WsRespuestaSIE.asmx/EnviarRespuestaNocturnaWF.</SAP:AdditionalText>
    <SAP:Stack />
    I attach the receiver communication channel configuration.(cc_config.jpg)
    I changed the target URL in the receiver channel, with the preproduction machine, but I didn't change the sopa action because is define in the wsdl ( soap_action.jpg).
    I have othe external definitions for preproduction environmet but its contect is different to external definitions in development change the reference to machine where geisiepre instead geiseides.
    Whe I import this external definitions I lose the configuration in messages mappings.
    How can I solve this problem? Is mandatory to have the same external definitions in the three environments??
    Thanks and best regards
    Mónica

    Hi Monica,
    I normally use the all the tag content in the SOAPAction tag, but you can try with EnviarRespuestaNocturnaPC in the SOAP receiver communication channel.
    Have you tried to test your wsdl endpoint with SOAPui?, you can get sometimes valuable information about how design/configure in PI and if the request is identical in PI and in SOAPui.
    Regards.

  • Use of  External Definition

    Hi all,
       could you please explain me the use of External Definition?
       why it is used and where it is used? how to use?
       please expecting the answer............
    Regards
    sasi

    Hi Sasi,
    Personally, I am using the External Defenitions as a basis for my Message Interfaces from the MDM syndicator. I am importing the XSD files based on the XML files from the MDM syndicator. In this way I have the complete structure for input/output to the MDM server.
    Of course it can be used to import other predefined structures.
    In other words, it saves you a lot of time
    Please award points if the answer was helpful to you.
    Cheers,

  • External definition import WSDL complex type problem

    Hi,
    i have created a webservice using apache axis and created an external definition for the service. You can see the respective WSDL recognized by XI below. The service takes an array of adresses. • Can External Definition be used or Receiver File content conversion (CSV)?

    Hi Experts,
    I'm a newbie to SAP PI and I started working on file to File(FCC) scenario in which I am provided with the receiver structure as an External definition. The structure is like
    Name
    Place
    Designation
    Salary
    hike
    Can I use the same structure (External Definition) for the receiver file content conversion or do I need to create another specific structure?
    Can I convert the target CSV file to UTF-8 encoding?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Taro

    Hi,
    Can the above specified structure be used for receiver FCC? Does this work? Can this be converted to UTF-8?
    If it can be used, how do we specify the parameters for FCC then as there's no root element?

  • External definitions import into Message mapping

    Hi,
    I have a DTD message in external definitions to be imported into the message mapping. But I am not able to choose the object in the mapping editor. It does not allow even if the message is a valid WSDL. The only time it allows to import into the message editor is when its an XSD.I am not sure why the external definitions in DTD or WSDL formats are not able to be imported or am I missing something??
    -Ken

    Hi,
      A conversion of the downloaded cXML DTD into XSD by using XMLSPY yields 3 XSD files. Using the initial XSD(which has the major fields) yields the same error(i.e cannot create messages or valid WSDL) in external definitions.
    I also tried using one of the standard xml's from the cXML site and the funny part was XMLSPY validated them without errors and while importing them directly into the mapping editor, XI throws an error "XML NOT WELL FORMED". Its so weird.
      Also is there a possibility to write a script to manipulate the payload message after passing through the adapters? For eg : Creating a script which will delete a valid tag in payload before it reaches the 3rd party. ...By adding the DOCTYPE in the prolog, the message would look like this :
    "<?xml...utf-8>
    <!DOCTYPE......'Cxml.org'>
    <?xml.....utf-8>
    <start tag></start tag>”
    Therefore some kind of a script that would remove the second <?xml tag on line 3>..
    This is just a round about thinking…
    Any ideas..

  • Where to find the XSLT used for the standard interface in SAP ME 5.2 SP05?

    Hallo!
    Starting with SAP ME 5.2 SP05 there is a new logic for the standard interface used in SAPMEINT.
    I wonder where to find the XSLT's that are used for transforming the XML messages?
    I can see from the SAP NW log:
    [Transaction: -1] starting execution of Visiprise/ERPShopFloorIntegration/frame/workflow/XSLTDelegate.trx
    Loading file Visiprise/WEB/XSLT/Outbound/EquipmentStatusChangeUnSchDown/EquipmentStatusChangeUnSchDownRequest.xslt
    select: path Visiprise/WEB/XSLT/Outbound/EquipmentStatusChangeUnSchDown
    select: name EquipmentStatusChangeUnSchDownRequest.xslt
    The definition for this XSLT is as follows:
    WEB://Visiprise/XSLT/Outbound/EquipmentStatusChangeUnSchDown/EquipmentStatusChangeUnSchDownRequest.xslt
    How is this resolved???
    From the (pre SP05) SAPMEINT I know two variants:
    1. High performance interface
    The XSLT files come from the MII shared memory entries for project SAPMEINT
    2. Standard interface
    The XSLT files come from SAP ME (table XSLT and XLST_ASSIGBNMENT) via calling a HTTP URL like
    http://<hostname>:<port>/manufacturing/vm/xslt?id=RouterFeed
    Kr,
           Erich Lind

    Hello!
    I found the answer myself now.
    The XLST files are part of the static web content of the MI project Visiprise.
    In the SAP MII workbench go to the project Visiprise
    Then under the tab Web the static contecnt can be found under the folder WEB/XSLT/..

  • Save for Web darker interface

    I have for a long time been an advocate for the darker interface, using it mainly in After Effects. So it's great that the CS6 apps have taken this to other apps in the Suite. However Save for Web has been missed out it seems. Anyone else think this should be able to be darkened like the rest of the PS interface?

    Yup, along with ACR and others - would be nice to have a consistent UI throughout the product, The main UI and Lightroom compliment each other very well, but then you get the sudden bright flash as a non-conformer pops into view.......
    I heard from Nik they are looking to match their Selective Tool to match the new Photoshop UI.....
