What is the idoc code for performing a http redirect?
And in idoc, how do I control the response code when redirecting? E.g. setting it to "301 Moved Permanently".

I have tried, without success, to use the setHttpHeader function to perform a redirect.
I can set the "Location" header, but that does not change the response code. Therefore the "redirect" does not work.

I have try to use PHP like syntax to set the response code appropriately, without any luck:




Could anyone please help me out with a code example of a redirect?

Are you offloading SSL on CSS and sending clear traffic to servers and servers and sending back redirects using http? If thats the issue and you want clients to get redirects with https Use urlrewrite feature on CSS

Hello all
Please stay with me. I will try to explain
A client has been using a domain name in France for over a year now. Something like
www.thedentist.com
I was not aware that dentistes in France hade to mention their profession in the url.
so I created a new one
something like
www.dentalclinic.com. That has been approved
Is there any way i could get all existing clients that have been using the old URL to be redirected to the new one?
So when they go to www.thedentist.com they end up to www.dentalclinic.com

Your question is probably better to ask in a web design forum since there may be ways having a server do the redirect. Try the Dreamweaver forum...

To do it thru the site deisgn you need to use redirect linking, which is probably not looked upon with favor when it comes to SEO

SharePoint public facing site does not open in sharepoint designer after giving http redirect in IIS

I have a public facing sharepoint site
We gave http redirect in IIS due to which I am unable to open the site in SharePoint Designer and gives error message site not found in webserver.
If i revert back the settings (remove the http redirect link) i m able to open the site in designer.Please let me know how can I resolve the issue in opening site in SharePoint designer after http redirect setting done in IIS

Looks like an AAM issue. What URL of the site you are trying to open with designer and what are your AAM settings?

I get redirected to a different site based either on my locale, keyboard language or product language. How can I prevent this from happening

There are several sites that I access where I type in www.xxxxx.com or support.mozilla.com expecting to get the American site but due either to my "locale" which is set to Germany or my "Keyboard Language" which is set to German, I get automatically redirected to the German site. As all my software is in English but I have a German Laptop, I wish to go to the English sites. Conversely there are sites where I type in www.xxxx.de wishing to go to the German site, but get re-directed to the UK Site because my software is in English. Many of these sites then allow you to chose the country you want thereby correcting this behaviour, but unfortunately there are a host of sites whose programmers have not foreseen the need for this and the sites are thus unreachable. An example of this is www.proidee.de which automatically redirects me to the UK Site.
What I am looking for is some way to prevent these sites from imposing their will over my decisions. I see this as a direct infringement of my rights.

Try running several malware scanners. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:

How to create HTTP 301 redirect from UCM 7.5.2

Is it possible to send a HTTP response with a permanent redirect from a UCM/Stellent website? We're using version 7.5.2 with iDoc script.
We can use the iDoc function setHttpHeader() to send the Location HTTP header, but how to send the HTTP response code 301, to signal the permanent redirect to the browser?

If you are using IIS there is a config variable that allows you do this. First create a virtual directory in IIS point to <install dir>\Inetpub\wwwroot directory.
and then do the below steps
a.     Login to Content Server
b.     Click on Administration Admin Server
c.     Click on Content Server instance name(button)
d.     Click on General Configuration
e.     Update SSWebFilterIgnoreList configuration variable
f.     SSWebFilterIgnoreList=virtualDirectory There should not be any spaces
g.     Click on save
h.     Restart Content Server

Redirecting from http to https

Hi,
we just installed podcast server and also installed the certificates. Browsing, https://podcast.localhost works fine.
What I want is if someone tries to open, http://podcast.localhost, i want all this traffic to be redirected to https://podcast.localhost
How do i do this at the server level by manipulating apache or whatever files ??

I'm trying to redirect from http to https. I have the sites set up, one on port 443 and the other on port 80. I added a redirect on the port 80 site as follows:
Redirect / https://podcasttest.ucmo.edu
This works for http://podcasttest.ucmo.edu, but not for any sub domains, like http://podcasttest.ucmo.edu/groups (this does not get redirected to https).
I also tried:
Redirect .* https://podcasttest.ucmo.edu (nothing redirected)
and
Redirect ^(.*) https://podcasttest.ucmo.edu (nothing redirected)
and
Redirect ^(.*)$ https://podcasttest.ucmo.edu (nothing redirected)

How do I set up a redirect from a subdomain to a specific path in my site?

Running OS X Tiger Server 10.4.11 (all latest updates).
For our online Web site we want to be able to allow users to type in a simple URL to get to our sign-in page which has a terribly long URL.
User types http://signin.ourdomain.com ---> goes to ---> http://www.ourdomain.com/cj/priv/auth/signin.php
Here is what I have tried so far:
1) Set up an "A" record with host name "signin" pointing to the IP address of this Web server in our DNS.
2) Set up 2 redirects (just in case) in Server Admin that look like this:
Redirect http://signin.ourdomain.com http://www.ourdomain.com/cj/priv/auth/signin.php
Redirect signin.ourdomain.com http://www.ourdomain.com/cj/priv/auth/signin.php
This seems to be right, but I cannot get it to work. Im missing something here. Typing http://signin.ourdomain.com simply takes me to http://www.ourdomain.com and not to the full path set up in the redirect.
I seem to be missing something here??? I've restarted Apache to ensure the changes take effect (restart graceful) but I still am not taken to the URL I want in the redirect.

I had the same idea last night (late) while I was stressing about getting this working. I tried the exact setup you mentioned and it still does not work. I am baffled!
Here is what I have:
1) An "A" record in my DNS with host = "signin" and IP address the same as my www.mydomain.com address
2) In Server Admin, created a new Web site called "signin.mydomain.com" with the Domain Name=signin.mydomain.com, same IP address as the www site, port 80.
3) set its document root to "/Library/WebServer/Documents/signin" which is just a subdirectory in my doc root. I even have an index.html file there that also does a redirect!
4) Added a redirect under the "Aliases" tab with the following: Style=Redirect, Pattern= / , Path=http://www.mydomain.com/cj/priv/auth/signin.com .
What baffles me to no end is that I even set up an index.html file in the new docroot for signin.mydomain.com that does an HTTP redirect to the signin page and it doesn't work either. It is like all my settings are being ignored by the server??? I made sure there was an entry in the /sites/ directory via terminal to ensure that Server Admin wasn't being flaky, it looks okay.
If I manually type the URL http://www.mydomain.com/signin/ it does the redirect just fine. The "signin" subdomain is active, since it at least takes me to www.mydomain.com, whereas if I entered one that was invalid like monkey.mydomain.com I would get a "failed to open page" error.
This can't be this hard? I must be missing something incredibly simple and stupid in my setup, but for the life of me, It all looks okay to me.

Yahoo mail redirects my email page to another trap page that asks me to upgrade. Is there an extension I can use to redirect from that site?

I would like to know if there's an extension, or if I need to write a script so that Firefox will stop a redirect to a trap yahoo page, that yahoo causes when I try to access my yahoo mail account. Yahoo redirects from my email page every time I try to access it. I can force my way back to email if I highlight the following from the address bar and delete it: /neo/trap?dm=cl&ncrumb=IvdoOqzobdy&.rand=1254591153

SolMan 7.1 SPS 11 - deactivate redirect from HTTP to HTTPS

Hi Gurus,
I am currently experiencing the case, that I can't call HTTP pages anymore.
Before I made the check described under SOLMAN_SETUP -> System Preparation -> 2. Check Installation -> Manual Activities -> Check Secure Web Browser Comm. (HTTPS) I was able to call SOLMAN_SETUP with HTTP and SSO worked (starting the Browser by calling transaction SOLMAN_SETUP in GUI).
After I have executed the check, I have changed nothing but to execute the check and make sure there is a working HTTPS service.
Now I am experiencing the case that if I start transaction SOLMAN_SETUP I get a browser call HTTPS. If I change the protocol and the port to HTTP it jumps directly to HTTPS. This behavior makes me think that some configurations steps have activated a force redirect from HTTP to HTTPS.
This specially gives me some headache because all other (satellite)-systems are not configured to use secured communication and the certificates are not rolled out.
Currently I can't afford the need to roll out certificates all over the landscape.
To buy me some more time:
How can I check if my feeling about the redirect is correct?
If there is a redirect, how can I disable this so that I can work with HTTP-URLs?

Perhaps this note can give You a little hint how to reverse to the HTTP setting again:
1716999 - Enable HTTPS for Solution Manager web service communications
Also check and adjust if necessary the setting for the webservice “wd_sise_main_app”: Change the setting to “Switch to HTTP”.
In addtion to that You also might look into:
- the ACL file; if any block against HTTP has been setup

App Store displays "too many HTTP redirects" after I click a link of the app from a browser. Help.

when i click a link to the app on the app store the browser closes and opens up the app store. after 3-5 seconds, a message pops up saying "too many HTTP redirects"
i tried to reset all settings, still the same error
i tried changing DNS servers, still the same error
i tried changing security encryption on the wifi router, still the same error
i tried to free up available space to 3GB, still the same error
i restarted, still the same error
This error occured 2 days after i updated the device to 6.1
the app store alone works fine, but when i clicked a link of the app from a browser, the app store displays this.
I'm using iPad Mini 16GB wifi

They would not be able to scan anything except themselves, which would be singularly unuseful. Thus, there are not actually any true anti-virus apps in the App Store. There are a couple that can scan your e-mail for you, but that is achieved through connecting to the IMAP server where your e-mail is stored. They cannot scan the phone.
