IE - Right Mouse - Export to MS Excel
If you right click on any HTML table on any webpage, IE shows an entry "Export to MS Excel".
Have you ever tried this out and do you know why it is usually not working?

According to your description, you find the wrap text property and fix column is not working after exporting into Excel. Right?
In Reporting Services, when exporting to excel file, it has limitation for textbox.
Text boxes are rendered within one Excel cell. Font size, font face, decoration, and font style are the only formatting that is supported on individual text within an Excel cell.
Excel adds a default padding of approximately 3.75 points to the left and right sides of cells. If a text box’s padding settings are less than 3.75 points and is just barely wide enough to accommodate the text, the text may wrap in Excel.
In this scenario, it supposed to be wrap text unless you merge cells. If cells are merged, word-wrap does not work correctly. If any merged cells exist on a row where a text box is rendered with the
AutoSize property, autosize will not work. For the Fix Data Property, it can't be working in Excel. These are features when exporting to Excel. We can't change it because it's by design.

Cannot Export PDF to Excel by Save as progress
Dear All,
I cannot export PDF file to Excel by Save as progress which save to Excel spreadsheet as Adobe software have teach us.
When I open the Excel file, there came out a error saying that
"This file cannot be opened because of errors, Errors are listed in: C:\Users|EDSAM TRADING SB\App Data\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO\86848C31.log.
Please help me solve this problem.
But I do can export PDF to excel by highlight PDF pages one by one and right click to save as Excel Spreadsheet.
Just wanner get a faster way to export, as I need export 100++ pages everytime.

Export data to excel and table column headers
I noticed that with LV 2012 when I call the method "Export Data to Excel" for a table, the table headers (= column names) are not exported to excel.
Am I right? I think that the column names should be exported too...
As a matter of fact when you call the method "Export to simplified image" the column names are included

Using a table, the method "Export data to excel" should export the "currently selected data", and data can be programmatically selected using ActiveCell property (as described here).
With ActiveCell I can select the column headers too (using negative numbers for row and/or column), and I do this.
And so I expect that when I select "Export data to Excel", the column headers should be exported too (because I selected them!).
I think that the actual behavior is a bug, rather that an expected behavior.

Excel export (webui crm -- excel) wrong format of house number
Hi,
in an excel export (webui crm ---> Excel) is displaying the wrong format.
If the house number contains a special character such as "/" then the house number displayed in the date format in Excel.
And if in the field house number is a number and a letter such as "9 a", then the house number is displayed in time format (9:00 am) instead the house number.
Does anybody know, how can I solve this problem?

There is no error from the CRM functionality. If you SAVE the excel,instead of opening it directly and then " open with "
word pad or notepad, you can see the phone no.s and fax no.s are properly transported to excel.There is a default format setting of
excel from the Microsoft, so you are getting the default format after opening the excel.
Steps:
1.Export to excel.
2.Choose the BP,PHONE and FAX columns holding the 'CTRL'key.
3.Right click on the chosen columns and choose "format cells".
4.Under the tab "number" choose 'number' and and reduce the decimal
place to '0' and click "OK".
5.Now you will be able to see the expected format.
If you are using IE then the excel file that is being generated should be an XML file which would help with the formating issue. But when there is a problem in the generation of the XML file a CSV file is created instead.
The kind of problems that can cause this could be :
- Wrong version of Excel (professional needed)
- Error in encoding (note 1560243 corrects this)
- Active X Settings on browser are not properly setup or disabled
- Other problems (some fixed in note 1457261)

When we right click on an HTML page, we see an option "Export to Microsoft Excel", is there a way in java whereby i can invoke that option.
For example i want a certain HTML page to be exported to an excel, i guess easiest option would be to have a button, and on its click i invoke that "Export to Microsoft Excel" option.
Is there a way to achieve this, or can anyone can suggest me a different way of exporting an HTML page to an xls?There's plenty of ways to do this. In java there's the POI library, and others, but they'll be server-side.
On the client side, if you can write to a local file from JavaScript (dont' know), then there is an XML(i.e. text) format the Excel understands, and if its written to a file with a .xls extension, Excel will load it as a normal .xls file.
So I'd look at writing files from JavaScript and look into the public Excel/XML format. -
Exporting to Microsoft Excel from a DataView Web Part consuming a Web Service with Parameters
In Sharepoint Designer, I've developed a page displaying a DataView Web Part which consumes an XML Web Service with three parameters. These parameters are passed in from a simple Form Web Part containing three input fields. I am able to provide default values for the web service so the dataview is initially populated, and when I enter in new parameters, the web service goes back, grabs the requested data and displays in the dataview nice and slick.
The problem I'm having is this: In Internet Explorer 7, when I right-click on the DataView Web Part and select Export to Microsoft Excel, Excel opens up, says "ExternalData_1: Getting Data..." and returns the data from the web service which applies to the default parameter values each and every time, regardless of whether I have changed the parameters on the web page, and contrary to what the DataView Web Part displays on the screen.
Has anyone else run into this, and is there a solution to the problem?

I checked in the Indian and US DB could not able to locate the migrate and the export to excel options on the screen i think seams like a bug. When you right click on the grid you can copy the table and paste on excel option is available..

Thank you for your helpSorry that my suggestion did not work. I have experimented with excel and could not get it to retain the precision on very large numbers for any numeric formatted fields. The idea I have for you is to create a table with your big number column defined as varchar2. Copy the data from the original table into the new table "insert into bignumber_varchar_table varchar_column select bignumber_table from bignumber;". Then do the export from the new table. This will keep the data as text and then excel retains the precision. Because it is text it will be displayed left justified. Right click and choose format cell, click on alignment, and set horizontal to right if you want it to look like a number in the spread sheet. Unfortunately, if you try to do calculations with it, the calculation appears to loose the precision.

Delivery - Exporting Layout to Excel

I would like to export the delivery layout to an excel document. I can do it to pdf and to word documents, but in this specific case of the delivery layout, i really need to export it to excel but i haven't got any template.
Anybody knows how to solve this? Or where to get the right template? The Docmnhl1 works fine with the word documents.

Issue while exporting report in Excel Format

I am facing problem while exporting the report in Excel Format. After analysis, I think that it could be due to two reasons, either we are using wrong versions of Jars, or we are using wrong API. Here is the code, approaches and problems we are facing. Please help.
First approach we are using is:

Problem Faced: Specified Excel format is not supported.
Second Approach: We come to know that excel format is supported with new releases and with occa package.
Then we tried with import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportClientDocument; It ask to set the ReportServer. When we are trying to set the server as
reportClientDoc.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
Application is unable to find 'ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString' property. It seems like we are using some old jars. However we have downloaded the latest released jars for eclipse 2.
Please help for it. Issue is to export the report in excel format, which is currently working fine for PDF. If this problem is related to Jars, please suggest the path to download the latest jars. We also looking for the latest jars like rasapp and rascore etc. But these are not available with Crystal Report for Eclipse 2 release.

Missing "Bookmark All Tabs…" feature which was in previous versions of FireFox 3.x. If you right-mouse click on a neutral part of the Browser window, there would be choice of "Bookmark this page" or "Bookmark All Tabs…". I have been unable to find it either in the sub-menu or the BOOKMARK selection from the Menu Bar.
What do you mean by Tabs sub-menu is it right-clicking on a tab ?
I know that "ctrl-shift-D" still work.
I know that a right-click on a tab gives the "Bookmark all Tabs" function.
But I would like to see it back in the Bookmarks menu. (which is its logical place)
Because today the choice only disappeared from the menu as it is still reachable through keyboard shortcut or through mouse right-click on a tab
but tomorrow it will totally disappear and personally I don't want that as this is one of my favorite functionality.

I do presentations in PP10. I am new to macair, and used to Windows. HOW DO I DISABLE THE "OPEN DIALOG BOX ON RIGHT CLICK"? I would like to use L mouse to advance slide, and R mouse to go back. The default is to use R mouse to open dialog box. I can disable this by unchecking the box in "advanced" on the PC. How do I do it with the Mac????

As originally stated in my opening post, the SWF is to be inserted into an Articulate '13 slide (what I called an aggregator originally - I tried not to bring them up since I don't want the chatter about "There's your problem - using Articulate"! ).
Recall that posting this published file to our LMS did not allow right-mouse click functionality as the flash player menu just gets in the way.
If I insert the captivate 6 files into Articulate as a Web Object (referencing the entire folder with html, htm and assets, and then posted to our LMS, and it DOES allow RM click operations in both IE and FF (although no sound on the Captivate slide in FF). But this is not what we want to do as this introduces 2 navigation controls (the Captivate one and the Articulate Player).
Why must anything be posted to a web server for this functionality to work?
I am able to go into the Captivate 6's published folder, and launch the Captivate demonstration by simply double clicking on the index.html file and this works great in both FF and IE after changing the security settings for flash.
Again - I can not believe I am the only one out there trying to use the right-mouse click feature to do a software simulation by embedding the Captivate SWF into an Articulate '13 project.
