IE11 partially crashes

I’m running an older website for Internet Explorer, using VBScript and an ActiveX object (RAPI, C++) developed by our team. Since IE11 does not support VBScript we use the emulate tag,
<add
name="X-UA-Compatible"
value="IE=EmulateIE9"
/>,
in the config file. We also use iFrames (not displaying cross domain web pages).
This setup works fine in IE 8, 9, 10 but not in IE11. The problem is that after our ActiveX component has displayed a modal dialogue IE crashes. It’s not closed down or restarted but it gets these symptoms:
Drop down lists doesn't expand. They are populated  and you can scroll all values using the arrow keys but it will not expand.
You cannot start Developer Tools after this point. (F12)
You cannot open internet settings.
View source is opened in notepad instead of the built in viewer.
You cannot leave the website by typing www microsoft com (or any other address) in the address field. You can still go to other pages in our own site but not leave our site.
After this crash it’s still possible to use our web site with full functionality, except for the drop down lists. The symptoms in the list above remains as long as the tab is open.
Anyone with similar experience?
Thanks
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
try
Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, check "Always record developer console messages",
uncheck "Disable script debugging other"
Save changes...
open a blank tab in IE (about:blank), then
f12>Debug tab, select "Break on all exceptions", then
go back to the blank tab and navigate to your intranet site.
dismiss any exceptions in the debug tab of f12, that are trivial and allow the site to load...
select the console tab to display any xss or blocked resource warnings.
select the emulation tab and check that your site has loaded with IE9 emulation... (it will tell you how the emulation was established, expected x-ua meta tag)
(possibly the workstation that you are testing on may have "display intranet sites in compatibility view" checked and the site first displays in IE7 emulation, or another mode if enterprise mode is deployed).
also check that it is mapped to the expected IE Security zone (File>Properties menu). expected intranet. Ensure that the Allow scripting of ActiveX controls is allowed in that zone.... (for a test you may like to turn on 'prompt' on the Security zone
options.)
mmm....(I'm not sure about this)... you should be able to locate vbscript block that calls your AX methods and place a break point on it.
back in the browser invoke the AX method call (by clicking a button?)
f12>Debug tab should break, at which stage you can step through the client script, up to the point of the method call.
BUT probably the best way to debug the issue is from Visual Studio.
(the client method above should display a message asking you if you want to debug any byte code errors using Visual studio)

  • My LR 5 is in a state of partial crash, many hundreds of photos I have recently processed having somehow been deleted. How can I talk with an actual live adobe expert person to find out if this is salvageable?

Suddenly today, in the process of going through a large backlog of images from the last month of wildlife photography, using Develop, and deleting large numbers along the way, I noticed that hundreds of images from the last week of my work have at some pointat some point in the last hour or two today, while I have been working on them,  simply disappeared from from the Catalog's "All Photographs" and from the individual day by day photo folders in the Catalog. I also noticed when trying to figure this out that simply clicking the black flag bar after selecting an image as a prelude to clicking "Delete Rejected Photos" or even just clicking  only the white flag, causes the selected image to disappear from all photographs and from the image folder for that day!! My last LR  backup was a weeklyJune 16, but in the last week I have done several solid days of work processing these images. (Whatever happened does not appear to have deleted the raw images from my hard drive, all of which are backed up when I finished work last night.) Is there any way I can talk directly with an adobe live expert person to see if there is any way to salvage the processed images that appear to have disappeared from the LR system?

You generally won't get staff here but you will get help from people with a vast knowledge of Lightroom inside and out.
If what you says happens when you use the flag filter, is it reproduceable  and does Ctrl/Cmd-z undo the removal.
Tell us your OS, Lightroom version and where the image files are stored.
You can always try the Help Chat but I think you will be better off here.

  • External Hard Drive "partial" crash?

Ive been using a 500 gb GDrive mini triple for about 6 months now to store all of my data for school and it has been great, until now. I dont kow exactly what happened, but now "most" of my files are corrupt (the important ones conveniently). I had partitioned the drive into two separate drives. One containing all of my iTunes data, and one containing all of my other data. The iTunes partition seems to be untouched and still works fine. The other partition ("school") had everything organized into about 4 file categories: School, Non-School, Baby(my wife's stuff), Portfolio, and one or two loose documents. All the data was stored in FAT32 format. After using my hard drive on a PC at school yesterday, all of the files on the "School" partition have gone "bad", with the exception of the "Baby" folder. That one and all of its contents are in perfect condition. I should mention that I use bootcamp and my windows partition at home regularly in conjunction with this hard drive as well, with no previous issues. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened here? Ive never heard of anything like this before, and its vitally important for me to be able to recover the data stored on that drive. Finals are in two weeks and everything is on there! any help is greatly appreciated.

This is how they appear in OSX Unfortunately there are many applications used to create different files. Most are .jpg or .psd images created in Photoshop, but there are also Word documents (.Mac), .pdf files, .wire files created in Autodesk Alias Studio, .avi videos, and maybe a couple of MP3s. I tried to run verify disk in disk utility but got the following error: "Disk Utility stopped verifying "SCHOOL" because the following error was encountered: Filesystem verify or repair failed." I then ran repair disk with the following result:
    Verify and Repair volume"SCHOOL"
    ock (5616244) not correct (7349253)
    fix? yes
    4676 files, 235176096 KiB free 7349253 clusters)
It looked like something happened but when I open the volume in finder the files look the same and cannot be opened.
Im going to attempt an error check from the windows partition, hopefully I will have better luck over there.
Quick question, if I try to perform a repair on this external disk from disk utility on Mac or a similar process in Windows, will it affect my data? (i.e. erase any data that isnt recovered?) Ive been searching for an answer to this question but I dont know how to ask i guess because my searches yield the answeres to the wrong questions. thanks again.

  • IE11 crashes after launch

I decided to pull my C655D-S5200 out of it's slumber a few days ago.  C-50 dual core 1.0Ghz APU, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD, Windows 7 64 Bit.  This system always seemed sluggish, even with an SSD.  I decided to do all of the updates and sign it up for Windows 10, to see if that would improve the performance.  Then I might not feel bad if I donated it to a charity or organization.
It had a handful of updates that it needed upon initial startup.  1 of which caused IE11 to crash as soon as you launch it.  I uninstalled IE11, and it reverted back to IE9, which works just fine.  I allowed it to update through 10 and onto 11, same issue.  I uninstalled again, then installed IE11 directly through microsoft.com... same issue.  I tried disabling IE11 through "turn windows features on or off", restarting, turning back on, restarting.... no luck.
I downloaded Chrome onto an SD card and installed it... and it works no problem.  Just stange that this system works absolutely fine with IE9, but crashes with IE11.  I would leave it "as-is", and just run it on Chrome, but the perfectionist in me wants IE to function properly.
Hopefully Windows 10 runs better on this system than 7... but if anyone has any suggestions for getting IE to run properly, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Thank you all for your responses!
C.B. , I usually use IE on most of my systems with no issues... but on this one, I definitely agree with you!  Honestly, whenever I have had this issue before, reinstalling or disabling/re-inabling has fixed it.  This system is just STUBBORN!
Chrisacady, I have tried the event viewer, but no results ever come up for IE.  As for APU's, I definitely agree.  I bought the 2 slowest C655D's I could find, trying to prove I could make them faster.  1 had the AMD C-50 dual core 1.0Ghz, and the other the AMD E-240 1.5Ghz  single core.  Both are slow, and the SSD only improves performance slightly.  Luckily, they are just spare systems that I have laying around that I was playing with.  The systems I use on a daily basis are MUCH faster :-)
Jerry, I have tried almost everything on that list.  Some of the items I cannot do, as IE crashes as soon as it launches, so I don't have time to make any changes (and the system is sluggish so it doesn't recognize me trying either).  I tried making those changes on IE9, but I am guessing that once IE10 or 11 is installed, it probably defaults back to the original settings.
Again, thank you all for taking the time to respond.  I know I am still going to mess around with this system a bit, to try to resolve the issue... but if nothing works, at least it has Chrome on it, which works fine.  I pulled out the E-240 system, and it did the recent updates with no issues.  I think this C-50 system just doesn't like me.  That's ok though... I'm not too fond of it either!

  • TaxCut 2007 crashes on launch on iMac G5-Please help

I'm posting this plea for help in both the iMac and Panther forums. On my iMac G5, running OS 10.3.9, I have an app, TaxCut 2007, which always crashes on launch. As soon as I click the second of the two "I Accept" buttons, the iMac gives me the "unexpectedly quit" message and asks if I'd like to send the crash report to Apple. I've sent it a couple of times.
I've spent hours trying to get the app to launch. Here are the things I've tried:
    1. Re-installed the app several times, repairing permissions both before and after the install, and restarting the computer.
    2. Booted up from my external hard drive and used Disk Utility to run disk repair on the computer's hard drive. (I also ran Disk Warrior and TechTool Pro. No problems were reported.)
    3. Installed the app on my iBook G3 (OS 10.3.9). It runs perfectly there. But, the screen is so small that it's inconvenient to work with the program on the laptop. I'd like to get it on the iMac G5.
    4. Connected a firewire cable from the G5 to the iBook, and booted up the iBook in target disk mode. Then, on the iMac I navigated to the iBook's application folder and opened up the iBook's version of TaxCut. No luck. Still crashed on launch.
    5. Got a replacement CD from the store where I bought the app. Tried that on the G5. Still crashes on launch.
    6. Downloaded the software updater from the TaxCut web site. Ran it. Still no luck.
    7. Got into a live web chat with a TaxCut representative. They have no clue about what to do.
    8. Booted up in safe mode tried to open TaxCut. Still the same result.
So, apparently there is something about my iMac G5 that TaxCut does not like. I'm including below what I believe to be the relevant part of the crash report (based on a tutorial on how to read crash reports I found on MacFixIt). However, I am not experienced enough to make sense of this crash report. I've looked at all the crash reports since this started happening, and I can say that Thread 0, where the crash occurred, always has this same line that starts with "libxml2.2.dylib."
If anyone can interpret this crash report and help me get TaxCut to work, I'll be very grateful. I only bought it this year because TurboTax, the app I usually buy, requires me to upgrade to Tiger, which I do not want to do (Panther ain't broke).
Here is the (partial) crash report:

    Hi Steven Rice-
    Number 7 is the winner!
I am fairly certain that they released this product before it was ready for prime time. I tried to install it from a free disk that they sent and couldn't get past square one. I have read many complaints about the product as well.
    Luck-

  • Ie 11 crashes

IE 11 is just to buggy for me, any other browser with the same plugins works great. Hopefully Microsoft fixes this soon. FYIW: Recently went to friends to setup new machine. Before installing any programs we tried IE 11. Crashes on a lot of pages, even here.
Seems to me a programmer must have been daydreaming and screwed up the code somewhere.
    Hope this helps:

    The link worked great.
The dump file showed involvement of many Norton Internet Security modules with the symhtml.dll getting the blame for the crash.
There was also involvement of AMD modules,  atidxx32.dll and atiumdva.dll as well as involvement of Flash.ocx and also rndlbrowserrecordplugin.dll (RealDownloader) :

    Probably caused by : symhtml.dll ( symhtml+2a08a8 )
Because of the high involvement of Norton modules I would suggest to uninstall, at least temporarily, NIS and see if the errors resolve.
You could use Windows 8.1 built-in antivirus (Windows Defender) and firewall.
You may also want to uninstall Real Downloader.
Errors with the symhtml.dll have been reported before:

  • Define Custom Bank Messages... crashes Logic Pro X 10.0.5

    Hi all,
Having a devil of a time setting up patch names for my Proteus 2000 in Logic Pro X 10.0.5. The Proteus 2000 requires a custom bank message format to access all of its banks over MIDI, so in the MIDI Environment I select its multi-instrument and then Options -> Define Custom Bank Messages.... EVERY time I do this Logic crashes, the custom bank messages window never opens. (The same thing happens if I right-click the multi-instrument and select Define Custom Bank Messages... from the contextual menu.) (Partial crash log below.)
I have tried switching off my MIDI modules and disconnecting my MIDI interface, just to see if it's a hardware issue, but to no avail. I have got to this window before, in an earlier version of Logic Pro X, so I'm wondering if it's a bug with 10.0.5. Any more suggestions of things to try?
    (I'm running a 2012 Mac Mini with Mac OS X 10.8.5, Logic Pro X 10.0.5, and a Cakewalk UM-2G MIDI interface.)

  • Fireworks CS6 export all pages as PDF crash

I cannot for the life of me Export all pages as pdf from FW CS6 on my Mac. All software is fully up-to-date. I have many times Exported scucessfully before, but now the same file is no longer exportable. I'm going crazy. The source PNG file is a 15 MB file of 68 pages, it is filled with hotspots that should export an interactive PDF. (I deleted all of the "unused library symbols" (even though that deletes symbols that are actually in use)). My Mac is a PowerMac 8GB RAM... I can't remeber the processor setup... I can tell you later when I'm at work...
I have been using FW since late 90s. FW crashes a dozen or more times a day these days. I'm tired of fighting it. Adobe has frankly been woeful in updating FW (on the Mac at least). It is an excellent product... but at best an unfinished product. I've sent bug reports through official channels for years and every year Adobe fails to fix them. It is quite shocking really.
I hope I can get a quick answer, or else my job will become much more difficult.

Here's a partial Crash output, let me know if more would help:

  • FCP 7 Crashes Every Time On Log And Capture

    Hi,
I have a Sony TRV950E connected to my new i5 iMac (10.6.4) via Firewire. I've selected Firewire PAL profile. Every time I hit 'Log and capture' FCP 7.0.3 crashes (I've included edited crash log highlights below). If I had any hair I'd have pulled it out long ago over this!
Here's what I've tried so far:
    Trashed FCP Prefs
Reinstalled FCP (using FCP remover tool) and patched up to latest version (7.0.3)
Reinstalled Quicktime X from system disc
Ran Disk Utility Repair Permissions several times
    Reset PRAM
System profiler lists camera correctly under firewire settings
Tried Firewire PAL Basic profile in FCP
    New firewire cable
Noticed Quicktime 7 wasn't installed, so installed from Snow Leopard system disc.
Captures perfectly in iMovie using DV VCR (which proves camera/firewire/cable are working).
As I understand it, quicktime handles the capturing in FCP and I assumed reinstalling Quicktime X would fix it - no dice.
If anybody could shed any light on what else I can try I'd be eternally grateful.
    Thanks.

I removed the USB soundcard and it's fixed! All capturing perfectly. Thanks very much Jon.
I have a supplementary question if I may. Ideally when I'm editing I'd like to run the sound through my Mackie MR5's connected via my Numark USB soundcard (the setup I use the rest of the time on this Mac) rather than use the internal iMac speaker.
If I choose 'Numark USB Audio Device' or 'Default' under 'View-Audio Playbak' I only get audio on the viewer window not the canvas? If I change audio output to 'Built In' all audio plays fine on both viewer/canvas. I've tried rendering everything to no avail.
Just seems odd the audio works in the viewer with the soundcard but not the canvas?

  • Why dose Premier (CS6) Crash when I change the Audio Hardware to System Default?

I am running a brand new Imac, i7 3.4ghz, 32gb ram and updated.  Full Adobe Production suite installed and updated.  My Audio interface is the Akai EIE Pro with the latest 2.8.18 drivers installed.
If a launch Audition, After effects, Logic, they all see the audio interface and work seemlessly.  When I launch Premier it does not see the EIE Pro interface and when I change the Default Audio interface to System Default Input/output Premier crashes immediately.  I have tried an earlier version of the EIE Pro drivers with the same results.  It doesn't make sense to me that it would work fine in After Effects but not Premier.
Here is the following crash report.    Anybody else have this issue or have any ideas on what to do?

Steve, the partial crash log is an unofficial unwritten rule around here.  The cause of the crash is usually near the top of the log anyway.  The hardware profile is at the bottom.  That can be helpful some times.
But, most of the contents only make sense to software engineers.
Search for the .plist without ".plist" in the search criteria.
    Or, look in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons
    Best of luck,
    Jim
Look, I just edited my post after you replied to it, John.

  • MSI X79A GD-45 - Random Locking / Rebooting Issues

    Hi,
    I recently upgraded my old P45 chipset Q6600 16GB Hyper-V home lab server, with a nice X79A GD-45 Board, with an i3820 & 64GB of Ram.
I've installed the system with Windows 2012, however I can't seem to get it stable.
I have a basic AMD 4550 graphics card in the server, and Dual Port HP360T nic, 2 x LSI Raid Controllers, I have tried removing all of this, but still get the same issues.
I have the latest BIOS updates from the MSI website.
I found that switching the ACPI power settings to C6 in the BIOS improved the stability but it hasn't resolved the problem completely.
I have my memory running @ 1333Mhz, as I've seen some people mention that trying to run 8x8GB @ 1600Mhz can cause problems, but that makes no difference.
I've tried running with 32GB of Ram rather than 64GB but same issues.
The strange thing is the PC doesn't blue screen, it sort of hangs, i.e. Windows 2012 goes un responsive, however I can still move the mouse cursor around, just nothing works, other times it just reboot's itself, and I get unexpected shutdown messages in the event logs.
Do I have a dogdy m/board, or is there some other secret to getting the X79 boards stable, my old Q6600 on intel P45 chipset was like a rock, longest uptime was over 250 days without a reboot..
    Thanks,
    Andy.

    Hi,
Just to let you all know that i think I had two issues in the end, the MSI commander software causing random reboots of Windows 2012, and also an old casecom 500w PSU that was causing the strange partial hangs.
Removing MSI commander software and setting FAN control directly in BIOS stopped the random reboots, however I was still getting problems with partial crashes for example Hyper-V VM's still running but windows desktop would go unresponsive etc.. and also issues with occasional HD corruption.
Since replacing the PSU the partial lockups / crashing have gone away, and I've had no more instances of corruption, server stable now for 80hrs+ without a reboot or weird partial hang :-)
In addition moving to a new 80+ platinum PSU has seen the power draw to run the system drop from 38-40% of the capacity of my UPS down to 17-18% so I've halved the amount of electricity that my server uses when on 24/7, from about 200-250w down to less than 100w, just the saving of approx 2.4Kwh a day (equates to about £0.30 a day) so across the year the PSU will have paid for itself !

  • Windows 8.1 Copyprofile Issue (SCCM 2012R2 MDT 2013)

    Hi,
We're experiencing several issues during creation of our base Windows 8.1 image.
Running SCCM 2012 R2 with MDT 2013 Integration.
Admin user customizations (a couple of simple UI settings and a wallpaper) are done to the Windows 8.1 image in audit mode. The OS is then sysprepped and captured via SCCM capture media.
We are using a standard MDT integrated task sequence for a zero touch deployment.
We are adding copyprofile to unattend.xml in the relevant MDT settings package.
Sequence completes without error and customizations appear in the image.
However, desktop IE11 immediately crashes unless it's run as administrator. This can be fixed by disabling protected mode (not ideal)
All Metro/Modern apps (including IE) are also initially broken. They immediately crash and drop you back to the desktop when you run them.
After a reboot the modern/metro apps (apart from IE) seem to reinstall and function correctly.
Has anyone else got copyprofile working correctly for 8.1 in a SCCM/MDT task sequence?
    thanks
    James

    Hi James,
We were able to work around this issue in the following way using SCCM 2012 R2. I know this is not how the process is documented or has worked previously but it is what worked for us.
    1. Create an unattend.xml with the copy profile setting (and whatever other settings) enabled.
    2. On the image which will be captured run all of our regular steps to customize on the administrator profile (I always set administrator pw at this point to have blank pw, don't know if still required), copy that unattend.xml locally.
    3. Do not run a standard capture using SCCM capture ISO, instead manually run sysprep specifying the unattend.xml. I.e. sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:C:\Unattend.xml .
    4. Boot to either the SCCM PXE or some other environment on that computer that has network access, and access to imagex.
    5. Run an imagex capture to a network location (in our case the C: was all that was needed).
    6. Import that WIM into SCCM as part of task sequence. Also added same unattend.xml used for sysprep into the task sequence to apply settings during first boot after image.
    7. Validated our start menu icons and layout are there on the image.
Until the behaviour changes in Windows 8.1 or SCCM, then this should get you by. Little bit of extra work in the capture but we had positive, consistent results using this method.
Thank you! This was driving me crazy! Now it works on the first try.
Just a side note: You should not use ImageX with Windows 8.1. Create a new WinPE Bootmedia and use DISM! ImageX is outdated.

  • I7 MacBook Pro Seizing

In the last couple of days, my MacBook Pro has begun to stop dead in the middle of things. It may be graphics related but I cannot say if any specific application is the cause. There is no spinning cursor like users report in other threads, there are no sounds; but while working the cursor will stop moving and there is no keyboard input possible either. Although I have waited a few minutes, there is no change and I am unable to do anything more than restart using the power button.
The last time this happened, I was using Front Row, with some photographs: the slide show stopped and the background music looped (about a second of sound or less).
I have run maintenance utilities with no reports of any problems. I did copy part of the last crash report before it was sent off to Apple. I wonder if anyone might have any suggestions or could identify something from any clues in this:

Stress testing, eh? A difference between yours and mine is that no backing up is involved, but that could be nothing to do with the problem. Did you have Cody Kreiger's utility for showing when the NVidia card was operating? I wonder if the card, or the switching may be involved (need someone to read that partial crash log).
I have just dumped a couple of applications that were graphics heavy (and which I had been testing) and a plugin for Aperture. Who knows?

  • Selecting "Audiobooks" closes the iPod application since upgrading to 2.1

Since I upgraded to the 2.1 version of software for my iPhone 3G, I have been unable to use it to listen to Audiobooks. Each time I select "Audiobooks" in the iPod menu it freezes for a couple of seconds and then pops me back out into the home screen. (See partial crash log below)
I have tried restoring the phone, but that didn't fix the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and have a suggested fix or workaround.

After a couple hours of testing last night, syncing and re-syncing, and crashing and crashing and crashing, I can add some specific facts, and provide details for a couple work-arounds (at the end).
    1. The problem occurs when you try to click to the Audiobooks tab/panel of the iPod application. If I quit the iPod application while on (say) podcasts, I can re-launch the iPod application, and do anything but go to the Audiobooks tab, without causing a crash. (This makes an audiobooks playlist workaround a reasonable strategy while waiting for Apple to fix this defect.)
    2. If I quit the iPod application while in the Audiobooks section, and then sync over audiobooks that trigger the problem, then the entire iPod application becomes inaccessible. That is, you can try to launch it, but it hangs, and then goes back to the desktop. The only way to get your iPod back is to re-sync and reduce the number of non-Audible tracks. If you're not at your computer, you're screwed.
    3. Only non-Audible books seem to trigger the problem. I am able to sync 50+ audiobooks from Audible.com (all Type 4) and it seems to cause no problems. No specific or quantity of Audible.com Type 4 audiobooks seem to trigger crashes. (I imagine that this is somehow related to the Audible titles being relegated to the Audible ghetto, below the regular audiobooks list, instead of mixed in with the rest of my audiobooks. Which seems to me to be a dumb UI decision; why would I care where they were from? I just want my audiobooks in one place. But that's another rant.)
    4. I currently have 18 non-Audible audiobook titles, consisting of 23 separate tracks (a couple books are multiple tracks, but only show up as one entry in the Audiobooks list on the iPhone), synced to my iPod, and I can use it normally. Adding one more track, and the Audiobooks section starts crashing. With another combination of audiobooks, I got it to 18 non-Audible entries in the list, but only 20 tracks. So it appears that the defect is triggered by having more than 18 entries in the Audiobooks list.
    5. It doesn't matter what title I add, only that I hit the limit. I must have crashed the iPod application 100 times last night, testing my way through a playlist of 105 items...
    6. All but one of the non-Audible tracks are AAC files (.m4a) that I have switched the file extension on, to .m4b, so they would show up in the Audiobooks section of iTunes and my iPhone (prior to iTunes 8, the .m4b extension was the only way to achieve that). The other track is a plain AAC (.m4a).
I hope this is useful in devising work-arounds. In particular, two possibilities seem like reasonable ways to cope while we wait for Apple to track the defect down:
    1. Limit the number of (non-Audible) audiobooks synced to your iPhone / iPod Touch. You might find the following article helpful in that regard: Managing audiobooks on a small-capacity iPod -- http://aldoblog.com/audiobooks/itunes/managing-audiobooks-on-a-small-capacity-ip od/
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.
    <Edited by Moderator>
In particular, the tips about creating smart playlists that you sync to the device, with filtering based on type and limits based on number of tracks, would seem to be strategies that will make it simpler to deal with this problem.
    2. Create a single big playlist with all your audiobooks (maybe a smart playlist based on Genre starts with "Audiobook"), and use that to get to your audiobooks, rather than the Audiobooks application.
