It will work in the UK, though you will need a plug adapter for the charger (you don't need a convertor for the charger).
If you get a 3G version then get the AT&T version as they use micro-sim cards, so you can swap in a UK micro-sim card. The Verizon iPad is CDMA based and doesn't use micro-sim cards, so from a built-in 3G point of view isn't much use in the UK (I'm not aware of any CDMA carriers in Europe).

    BobTheFisherman, thank you
I'm grateful that you helped me with understanding it. Now I get it.
    Dah•veed, with all due respect,
What I asked about is the same thing ahmedsamiul707 asked about. I just wanted to know something more about the same thing. When you read the forum, you can see many threads which are exactly the same. Why add another thread if you have the same question? Only wanted an explanation. Was that so hard?
So to make it clear - as BobTheFisherman provided - all iPads are unlocked.

  • If i buy an iphone 5c in usa will it work in in Italy?

If i buy an iphone 5c in USA, will it work in Italy ?

Before you buy, remember, that the warranty is only valid in the country where the phone was bought. In case your phone might need to be serviced, you'll have to send it back to the USA.
If this fact does not matter to you, make sure to buy a SIM-free phone.
    More details here:

If you buy iPhone for T-Mobile, it will arrive with a nano-SIM card already installed that you can activate by visiting an Apple Retail Store or a T-Mobile store or by calling T-Mobile. If you buy a SIM-free iPhone, you will need to purchase a GSM-compatible nano-SIM card separately. In the United States, you can purchase such a SIM from AT&T or T-Mobile. When you travel internationally, you can use a nano-SIM card for iPhone 5c from a local GSM carrier. The unlocked iPhone 5c model is A1532 (GSM). Was thinking of buying an Ipad whilst in newyork in january, will it work in the uk

The device may need to be unlocked for use on a carrier to one other than to which it is branded. EVEN if the device appears unbranded on the surface, it very well is branded internally to one carrier.

IF the device has been used, make sure the device PIN is still not associated with a prior account. If it is , it will need to be "released" from the previous carrier account.
These two items (Unlocked device and PIN release) are not related to each other and are separate items to check.
To answer your direct question.. Yes, it should be no problem using the Duty Free purchased BlackBerry in the UK.

  • If i buy an iphone 5s from usa, will it work in turkey?

Hi everyone,i want to buy an iphone 5s from usa but i am having doubts. If i buy it from an apple store, will it work in turkey?

You will get 3G coveragae but LTE will most likely NOT work. Also, the warranty will not be valid in Turkey. Should the phone develop any issues you will have to take the phone back to the US for service.

  • If i buy unlocked iphone 5 in usa, will it work in india....?

if i buy iphone5 in usa ,will it work in india??

No, because there are no officially unlocked iPhone 5's for sale in the US at present. They are all carrier locked. Check back in 4 ~ 6 weeks.

  • If I buy an unlocked iPhone in Canada will it work in the UK?

    Hello,
I'm going to Canada for a week in October. I was planning on buying an iPhone 5 for my daughter for christmas and noticed it was a lot cheaper in Canada so I was wondering if I bought an unlocked iPhone 5 in Canada could I put a o2 sim in it? And will it work in the UK?
    Thanks

I am talking A1429 GSM which has bands 1,3,5
I assume this is not available in North America .( it is not )
Just found chart which identifies the models by geography
Another very good reason for not cross bordering
    Thanks for the pointers

  • If I buy an Iphone 5 from america will it work in the UK?

Hi guys I was just wondering if anyone knows that If i purchase an Iphone 5 from America, Pittsburgh will it work in the UK?

LTE will not work at all in Europe ,wrong bands with any European carriers
Warranty is not international ....valid in USA only
Current prices are for a subsidised 24 month contract ,no unlocked iPhone 5 available yet in USA .
UK prices are unlocked tax inc US prices are before sales Tax
You may get caught at customs ...VAT + duty as iPhone is over personal Allowance
    Generally not a good idea
The UK version is A1429 GSM not available in US

  • If I buy an iPad 2 in the USA will it work in the UK?

I am heading to Chicago next week and thought I might pick up an iPad 2 while I am there. Seems I can get more for my money. I wanted to check that if I buy an iPad 2 from the USA that it'll work properly when I get back to the UK.
    Is the keyboard is universal?
Can I use my existing iTunes account?
Will it Sunc with my UK MacBook?
Can I use a UK microsim with it?
Other than the plug are the USA and UK iPad 2's exactly the same?
    Thanks.

I bought an IPad2 in Boston couple of weeks back and it works fine here in the UK.
Specifically in answer to your questions,
the keypad is universal - just set it UK English in 'Settings'
my UK iTunes account works without any trouble - the Apple shop are keen to set everything up before you leave the store, so I let them do it.
    it synchs with my iMac
I only the wi-fi version, so I'm not too sure about the micro sim
There's no difference between the US and UK versions.
    A few other things,
I saved £70.00 on the 32 Gb wi-fi version.  That included paying State tax, which varies - you may not have to pay tax in Chicago or it may be a different rate, worth checking and how much.
They might tell you'll have to buy a UK charger but all I've done is swap the UK plug attachment I already had from my MacBook onto the charger unit that comes with the iPad and that works fine.  It will also charge from my iMac if I connect it (the Apple guy in Boston told me it wouldn't)
Remember the UK customs duty allowances.........

  • If I buy an unlocked iPhone5 in USA will it work in UK?

I'm away to the States on business in October. Considering the exchange rate it would be considerably cheaper for me to buy an unlocked iPhone5 over there.
However, I'm unsure whether it will work properly in the rest of the world? Does anyone know if the US spec will function properly in UK/Europe?
Of course, there may not be an unlocked version available by then but if there was.....?
    Thanks
    Chris

It will work in the UK, though you will need a plug adapter for the charger (you don't need a convertor for the charger).
If you get a 3G version then get the AT&T version as they use micro-sim cards, so you can swap in a UK micro-sim card. The Verizon iPad is CDMA based and doesn't use micro-sim cards, so from a built-in 3G point of view isn't much use in the UK (I'm not aware of any CDMA carriers in Europe).

  • My iPad 2 touch screen will not work. The screen is currently locked. The sliders work, but the number pad doesn't! My screen was shattered months ago, and worked fine until recently. I need to delete confidential info before replacing the glass. HELP!

Again, everything worked perfectly until about two days ago. Out of nowhere, the numbers on the unlock screen stopped working. The sliders still work, the photo button still works. I've tried reseting it multiple times, and powering it off multiple times as well! Any help would be very helpful. It needs to be fixed as soon as possible for a private buyer. Thank you!!

Have a read at all this, including the links. I personally would then proceed in this order.
Open iTunes on your computer. Connect your device (iPad or whatever) to the computer.  Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release the power button, keep holding home button until your device recognises it is in Recovery Mode. (Perhaps 10-20 seconds.) If the device screen is black (blank) then it is in DFU Mode.
See this link and note the sentence commencing, 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page.

  • If I buy an iphone 5 in America, will it work in the UK?

I am looking to travel to America at the end of October and was wondering if I buy an Iphone 5 out there, if I bring it back, will it work here in the UK?
I've heard that they do work if you unlock the Iphone, not sure if that's true or not?

Apple are not selling unlocked iPhone 5 yet with no indication of when
Apple will when they start selling unlocked be the only source of unlocked iPhone 5
in US  all other sources will be locked to a carrier and will only work with that carrier
The US prices currently showing are subsidised 24 month contract and no taxes
    Uk prices all inc tax
The warranty is NOT international and the US iPhone 5 will NOT work ever on
    4G in the UK
A locked iPhone can ONLY be unlocked by the carrier

  • I bought my iPhone in the USA; will facetime work in the UAE?

I bought my iPhone in Oklahoma, USA. Will facetime work on it when I'm in the UAE?

Carriers lock phones.  Only Carriers can unlock them.  Contact the carrier to whom your phone is locked.  See if they allow unlocking, and if they do, what the qualifications are.
