If I had already loaded Windows 7 once prior, then repartioned, is it like completely starting over?
I had installed Windows 7 once in bootcamp, however, had made the split 50% to Windows and 50% to Mac, then decided that I only wanted to allocate 100 gb to Windows. So, I went back into bootcamp and did the process over and then reloaded Windows 7. These are my questions:
(1) I just wanted to make sure that when I re-did it, it completely erased what I did the first time, and that I have only two clean partitions?
(2) when I hold the option key down when I start up, when the screen comes up, I see three drives: Mac OSX, Recovery 10.8, and Windows. Does this look correct? And, what is "Recovery"?
1. After doing that, you made a clean install of Windows, so Windows is like new because you erased the Windows volume.

If you want to add space to the Windows volume, just use Paragon Camptune X > http://www.paragon-software.com/downloads/camptune.html This application allows you to give more storage to the Windows volume quickly, without deleting the volume.
If you want to create another volume, note that Boot Camp requires that the hard drive is partitioned into two partitions, the OS X and the Windows partitions, so you can't create more when you install Windows on the computer. There are workarounds, but I think that you should leave this as it is now -

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

I am struggling to Partition my MacBook Pro using Bootcamp 5, can someone help, please. I previously had successfully loaded Windows 7 running Bootcamp 4 on the same machine. When I upgraded to Windows 8 I started encountering problems. My trackpad would not work and it required me to load Bootcamp 5" as I was running 32 bit this is not supported by Bootcamp 5 I had to completely delete the previous partition, but now I can't repartition as it goes halfway and says an error has been encountered and Bootcamp cannot partition this drive.
I do not know how to defragment the drive in Apple as I can in windows nor can I clean it up to maybe get everything in neat clusters, maybe somebody can help me solve this problem.Sorry Bobthefisherman, this was not helpful. I had already gone through these pages before coming to you. What I have discovered however is that when Bootcamp Assistant deleted the partition, it did not create a single volume but created three partitions instead which maybe the reason why it cannot create the new part ion parameters I am asking it crate. So I took it to the geniuses at Apple who suggested that I reformat the drive and reload everything again! and this might solve the problem. We'll all know whether this is helpful once it finishes the formatting of the hard drive. This process is taking a very long time to complete so I am leaving it overnight for it to complete. I will keep you updated on progress. I am also told that Apple is struggling with Windows 8 drivers and I may not be able to use that, so I am going back to Windows 7 even though I was beginning to like windows 8 very much.

When I purchased my Intel IMac I was told it could run Windows. I didn't have a need at the time, but now I do. How do I load Windows. When I put it in my machine and start from the CD, it doesn't like the partition on my hard drive and wants to delete it. I am afraid I'll lose everything on the hard drive if I do this.
Can somebody give me simple instructions to this.I'm not sure what criteria you were using to search but as of late VirtualPC should be dwarfed by other software.
If your iMac is a PowerPC machine then VirtualPC is your only option. You can't install Windows directly on your iMac. You must install it on a "virtual PC".
If your iMac is an Intel machine then you can't use VirtualPC. You'll want to look at Apple's Boot Camp <http://www.apple.com/bootcamp>, Parallels <http://www.parallels.com> or CrossOver Mac <http://www.codeweavers.com>. Other options are available but these three are the most common.

Load Leopard on a New Hard Drive with Windows XP already loaded
How can I load a new, fresh Leopard operating system on a new hard drive, with Windows XP already loaded and working on it's own independent hard drive via bootcamp beta. I have been using Tiger on it's own drive and wish to discontinue Tiger and move to Leopard without reloading windows. Can I just put in a new drive, and load Leopard with the Windows drive in place?
Please, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for replying to my question! I am new to MAC and have Tiger and Windows XP on separate drives. I will be removing the drive with Tiger and putting in a new drive to load Leopard and I wondered how that would effect accessing Windows XP since the Windows drive will remain in the system. Is there anything I need to do with bootcamp, since Windows was loaded using the Beta version of bootcamp, and bootcamp icon currently shows in the Windows XP taskbar. Tiger was pre-loaded when the computer was purchased. In fact I had to backdate the beta bootcamp version in order to get it to work. I hope this is not asking too much, but I wondered if there would any problem with Windows after the Leopard load.

Question: I have just taken delivery of my LR5 disc. I had already downloaded the trial version. I just tried entering the serial number from my hard copy to authorise my downloaded trial version and it did not recognise the serial number. So, I loaded the hard copy, and the instructions said that it would just overwrite the downloaded version. And again it will not recognise my serial number! I am not wanting to uninstall the trial version as I have already got quite a lot of personal preferences entered etc. Help please. I am on a macbook pro with latest OS

I have a PC running Windows XP (yes an antique) with CS3 Photoshop and InDesign and lightroom 2 (yes all antiques). I have acquired a PC running Windows 7 with no programs. I also have a MacBook pro with full CS5 suite. The programs were already loaded with I got it as a gift. Question 1. If I find serial numbers used to download programs to the old PC, can those CS3 programs be put on the newer PC. Question 2. I really want to put CS5 suite on PC machines. Is that possible? Especially since my MacBook is showing some hard drive problems.
You should be able to get the CS3 programs installed and running on the new pc since CS3 is spec-ed for Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Downloading the programs does not require a serial number. You can find them here: Download CS3 products but you will need the serial number to activate the programs. You might be able to find that thru your Adobe account online.
You will not be able to install the CS5 Mac version on a PC and you won't be able to trade it to a PC version either due to it being an older version. Trades are allowed only for the latest version (CS6) -

How can i deauthorize a computer that once was authorized then I had to reinstall (windows 7) like 3 times and reload itunes reach time to get this authorization crap. I only have 3 computers actually authorized. This one is the 4th. This is ridicules.
If you've got 5 computers authorised for the account in question, and you need to free up authorizations, I'd do a "Deauthorize All" from one of the computers you have access to, and then reauthorize the computers you have access to.
