If I turn on "Do Not Disturb", will my phone make noise if a "Government Alert" is issued (iOS7)?

If I turn on "Do Not Disturb", will my phone make noise if a "Government Alert" is issued (iOS7)?

I won't pretend to think of every possible action that might cause a sound to occur on your iPhone.
To prevent sounds from government alerts, go to Settings > Notification Center and turn off all the government alerts (at the bottom).
To turn off other alerts, go to Settings > Notification Center and review each one of them.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

I turn the do not disturb button on and I am not given any options for setting or calls allowed. Does anyon have a fix for this?

    Do Not Disturb and Notifications
Push notifications appear in Notification Center and alert you to new information, even when the
associated app isn’t running. Notifications vary by app, but may include text or sound alerts, and
a numbered badge on the app icon on the Home screen.
Turn off all notifications: Go to Settings and turn on Do Not Disturb. When it’s turned on and
iPhone is locked, all notifications and calls are silenced, but alarms will still sound. You can set the
following options in Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb:
    • Automatically turn on Do Not Disturb: Set the starting and ending hours for when you don’t
want to be disturbed. iPhone turns on Do Not Disturb during these hours each day.
    • Allow some phone calls during Do Not Disturb: When Do Not Disturb is on, calls are silently sent
to voice mail. To allow some callers to ring through, tap Allow Calls From. You can allow calls
from your Favorites list or other Contacts groups you define. For information about Favorites,
see Chapter 25, Contacts, on page 100.
    • Allow persistant callers to ring through: Turn on Repeated Calls. If the same caller (based on
their Caller ID) calls you twice within three minutes, iPhone will ring.
Turn an app’s notifications on or off: Go to Settings > Notifications. Tap an item in the list, then
turn notifications on or off for that item. Apps that have notifications turned off appear in the Not in Notification centre

  • HT5463 Using Do Not Disturb, will my alarm sound, but silence calls, texts and notifications?

If I use Do Not Disturb, will my alarm sound, but silence text, and calls?

Actually Alarm will NOT sound. Tested today, by being late to work because of this. As far as I understand, the best workaround is to schedule the DND function to turn off right before the alarm.
Then there is something wrong with your device. I've done repeated tests on a variety of devices. The alarm sounds. You have to be using the built in Clock app.
Have you tried resetting your device? Force closing the Clock app? Have you made sure that the volume was turned up?
    Best of luck.

  • How can I turn off do not disturb

    Hello,
Is there a easy way to turn off do not disturb?
I activated it last week and it seems that from that day my Iphone is not ringing anymore.
The only thing he is doing is trilling.
    Kind regards,

Hello wjosten, that's just the case , the moon is not in the top richt. When i go in the option: do not disturb at the end there isthe option: silence, there you have 2 options: 1) always or 2) when the Iphone is locked. The problem is that i have to use one of the 2 options. Is there no possibility to take none of the 2. Kind regards

  • HT5463 If using Do Not Disturb feature, will the alarm clock still notify me if set to do so?

If I turn on Do Not Disturb, will my alarm clock on my phone still sound to wake me?

Remember, if you do try and test it as randers4 says, you will need to make sure you put the phone in sleep mode for DND to work. If you set an alarm, turn on DND and the phone is still awake, it would work since DND does not work with the phone awake. So, set the alarm, turn on DND, put the phone to sleep and see if the alarm goes off.

  • Does do not disturb turn off my app notifications?

I am a volunteer firefighter and get my calls dispatched through an app in iTunes Store called Active911. Do not disturb comes in handy when I'm sleeping as that way only my family and firefighters can call me in case of an emergency.  I need the active 911 app to ring and notify me if I have been dispatched to a call. If I turn on do not disturb will I still get my notification from my active911 app so it can wake me up if I'm sleeping? Basically what happens is the active 911 app rings really loud if I get dispatched.

You can use the Do Not Disturb setting while your iOS device is locked to silence calls, alerts, and notifications.

  • HT5463 I have an iPhone5,iPad 3 & my daughter an iPod Touch 4th generation. We use Do Not Disturb. It turns by itself at 9:30pm & off at 7:00am. This morning, none of them turned off automatically. I manually backed them up to iTunes yesterday. Any though

I have an iPhone5, and an iPad3 and my daughter has an iPod touch 4th generation and her and I have separate accounts. I backed them up to my PC to iTunes last evening as I do every few weeks. We both use the Do Not Disturb option. Quiet hours are from 9:30pm to 7:00am. The 3 devices always turned the Do Not Disturb on and off according to the schedule on their own. As of this morning, the Do Not Disturb did not turn off on any of the devices. I sync them with iCloud either manually or when charging them. The moon icon stayed on all day today and did not follow the schedule. I had to shut it off manually on my phone. Any thoughts. My daughter initially had used her iPod Touch under an Apple account I made with my information. When I got my iPad and then iPhone5 I created a different account for her. Some items of mine went on her iPod Touch yesterday when I backed them up on iTunes on my PC. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

It seems to be a glitch or bug. Its been officially acknowledged and addressed by Apple. There is no resolution other than waiting for a few days.   The Kb article by Apple states it will fix itself on January 7.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4510
    Symptoms
After January 1st, 2013, Do Not Disturb mode stays on past its scheduled end time.
    Resolution
Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
To turn off the scheduling feature, tap Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and switch Scheduled to Off.

  • HT4623 the "Do not Disturb" option started to show the moon always regardless the change of time since 1-1-2013 the only way to avoid this is to turn this option OFF

I am used to scheduale the "Do not disturb" option since i updated to IOS 6.0.1 but in the first day of 2013 i notice =d the moon since is continuing to show on the screen i tried to change the time ans well as the scheduale but still the moon sign showing. turning off this option is the only way to get rid of the moon sign off and to be able to receive call.
any idea why this happening and if anybody else have noticed and if there is a way to get this feature working properly?
