If my iPod is stolen and I have a warranty on it, am I able to get a new one for free?

I got an iPod touch (4th Generation) for Christmas. I brought it to school yesterday and someone stole it. I have a warranty on it but I am not sure if the warranty covers it for being stolen. I just wanted to know that since my iPod is stolen and I have a warranty on it, can I still get a new iPod for free or just get a new iPod period?

Apple will do nothings.  See this Apple artivle.

You may ask Apple to remove Warranty from the stolen device.  I am thinking for the first time to this.
If it is not (jet) ruled I would put a request to apple to do that.
Of course no advatage for you, just the pleasure to remove the warranty from the hands of the  new gentleman owner of your device.
