If you travel e.g to Japan and I take with me my AppleTV MacBook Air and iPhone 4

I Visit a friend in Japan who has Wi-Fi on this home PC. I then hook up to his Wi-Fi and HDMI TV with my Apple TV. Can I then view and listen to all my content on iCloud and iTunes account plus buy and rent and watch Media?( I will have all the cords that is needed with me to enble the Apple TV and other hardward).

>Can I then view and listen to all my content on iCloud and iTunes account plus buy and rent and watch Media?
Watching should work.  Purchasing might be a problem since you would be in another country and might have to use the Japese store which might mean you would not have access to the contnet when you came back to the US.
>I will have all the cords
I thought you said you were going to use WiFi?

I'm an applications developer and also run a part-time videography business. As such, I require more than 3.12GB of RAM. That is the physical limitation of a 32bit system. Pointless to stay on 32bit if you plan on having more than that much RAM.
I'm also not about to pay someone to fix my PC when I can do it myself. I was originally hoping for someone who had experienced the problem before to point me in the right direction so I didn't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the issue was for myself.
Basically, in the end the problem was caused because right at the point in time when I chose to uninstall, and reinstall; Apple released a new version of iTunes. This version in turn had a requirement of iOS 4.2 to sync with the iPhone. This is a pretty embarrassing for Apple that they would release software reliant on other software before said software was released.
Had I realised I was downloading a newer version at the initial point of installation, this wouldn't have been an issue. I could've easily have rolled back iTunes to the previous version and gotten on with my life.
Another issue is that iTunes is not actually a 64 bit application. It masquerades as one to allow installation on the 64 bit platform.

  • Can you share iTunes libraries between iPad and iPhone?

I know how to share libraries between my MacBook or iMac and my iPad and/or my iPhone. My question is, can you share your iTunes libraries between your iPad and iPhone only, without using a computer?  I wanted to share movies between my iPhone and iPad in Europe over wi fi so I could take more on two devices.  Does iCloud support videos?

There are no iTunes libraries on the iPad or iPhone. You have iTunes content on the devices but not libraries. The content is stored in the respective apps as you well know. AFAIK there is no way to share the content from one device to the other using any iOS feature in the current sysetm.
This something that may appeal to you. The GoFlex Satellite Wireless Hard Drvie.

You don't need a computer (other than to set this hard drive and and transfer the content), but it is one more device that you have to lug around with you.

  • How do you remove songs from your iPad and iPhone?

My iPad's plugged into my Mac, and I want to remove some songs but can't find a delete button on either my iTunes or iPad.
    What's the secret?

Very helpful. Be aware that the confusion here was what to click in iTunes once your device was plugged in the USB of your computer. If you open the device pulldown in the left column you'll see Music, Movies, etc. I was selecting Music, which seemed logical, but was not able to uncheck the songs I wanted off my iPad. But if you click/select the listed device, and then click Music in the tabs at the top of your iTunes page, you'll see all your music in your Music library from which you can check to port to your device, or if already on your device, uncheck if you want them off it.
NOTE: be sure after you click Music to click Sync Music, but then BE SURE to click the radio button for "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres." Doing so then displays all your songs in our iTunes Music Library with checkboxes by each one.

  • Video on skype not workin only in facetime and photo booth appears to be a common problem amongst user with a recently bought macbook air

Video on skype not working. Only functioning in facetime and photo booth. Seems to be a common problem amongst users having bought a new macbook air recently. When you go to Preference and click on audio/video item video works but when clicking on another menue and returning to audio/videio picture is gone. Understand has something to do with a recent update von Apple (10.8.5... missing file for 32 bit version).
Anybody there to give me an advice?
    Thanks.

Wait until a fix is available from Apple or Skype.
    Best.

  • AirDrop connection between MacBook Air and iPhone 5 / AirDrop połączenie pomiędzy MacBook Air i iPhone 5

Is it possible to send files from a MacBook Air 2013 11" OS Maverick to iPhone 5 iOS 7 via AirDrop and vice versa? If not, when such option will be available?
"What is AirDrop for if it can’t be used together with the most popular devices?"
    Please, answer asap.
    English/Polish version,
    ogien88

AirDrop for OS X works over Wi-Fi, and AirDrop for iOS works over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so they use different systems.
This means that you cannot use AirDrop to transfer files between an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and a Mac. Instead, you can only use AirDrop on your iPhone to transfer files to other iPhones, iPads and iPods touch, and AirDrop on your Mac to transfer files to other Macs

  • What package do you recommend with buying a new macbook air?

I am looking to buy a MacBook Air.  I'd like a much storage as possible, speed as posible and to edit photos, etc (but don't want to pay for more than I need).  Thanks.  I am hoping to use my new MacBook Air seamlessly with my iPad2 for pages documents (sinced to the cloud).

    1. Opt for the 8 GB memory upgrade. For $100, it will absolutley give the biggest "bang for buck", in terms of performance upgrades. Since you can never upgrade the memory later, it is a necessity to include the option with your purchase.
    2. 256 GB is a reasonable amount of SSD, provided that your iTunes library is under around 32 GB, and you don't plan on storing too much in the way of movies or other space intensive files. It is also enough if you possibly plan to run a simple Windows installation with a VM product like Fusion or Parallels. Consider the larger 500 GB selection if you think you will be storing large amounts of data. Only yop will know what you will need. I say estimate your need, then double it. I have about 175 GB on my system right now, and use Windows and have a modest iTunes libary, with a few movies. I opted for the 500 GB SSD, so I have some room.
    3. Upgrade the processor only if you will be needing the device for light gaming, video editing, or any other processor or graphics intensive work. The base processor is pretty good, and the upgrade is only a modest increase in performace, so this will be the least likely upgrade to consider if money is tight.

  • Do you think a magnetic cover or a car smart key could affect the Macbook Air?

I just bought a Macbook Air 11inch and I noticed that after two days the wifi is randomly disconnecting and after three days even the display was problematic, It display in only 25% of the page. Now, I get a new one but I am wondering if the problem is not the magnetic cover or my car smart key when I put the key and the Mac in my bag.

No, the neodymium gauss rating on such ceramic permanent magnets is not high.
Even a huge N50 gauss Neodymium would need direct contact to cause damage to the Macbook Air.

  • Problems with WiFi between my Macbook Air and Iphone 6

I have a Macbook Air (I purchased it around Dec. 2013)
My problem has been happening lately the past few months.
If my iphone 6 is connected to my Wifi here at home and it is plugged into my Macbook Air, the internet on my Macbook stops working.
I have to turn the Wifi off on my phone, for my macbook to regain it's connectivity and begin to work.
My hotspot is not turned on on my phone, or anything like that to prevent my Wifi from connecting on my Mac, but this problem happens EVERY TIME my phone is connected to my macbook.
Is this happening with anyone else? Is there something I'm probably overlooking?
    Please help.
    MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013)
    1.3 GHz Intel Core i5
    4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    OS X ver. 10.10.2
    iPhone 6, 64GB, Gold (Verizon)

    Update:
So just that quick! I updated to iOS 8.2 and It seems like the problem has went away.

  • Could you please help me connect my Telstra usb internet stick to my new Macbook Air? This is my first Mac and I am really struggling!

    Hi,
I just brought my first Mac at Christmas and I am trying to connect my Telstra usb internet stick to it.
The Mac recognises the internet stick and the widget pops up for the stcik but then asks me to register the internet stick with this computer. I am provided with a a description on how to do this (go to Open Network Preferences > a new pop up will say New System/internet found etc), but the "new system/internet pop up never appears, so I can click on the "directIP" showing on the left hand sinde of the Open Network Preferences windon, but then I dont know where to go from there.
Could anyone help me with a step by step (aka lamens description) of how to fix this?
    Thank you very much!

Hey there, my experience with the Telstra USB internet dongles is a little different, don't think you need to fuss with settings and all that, it's basically designed to plug and play almost.
When you plug it in, it should prompt you to install the Telstra utility. Have you done this? You will know because in your 'Applications' you will see a Telstra icon. You need to use this utility to connecto the internet.
So, if you have this, simply double click it and when the utility opens, click 'Connect' and as long as the dongle can detect the network it will connect. There should not be any other configuration required.
If that utility is not there, then install it. When you plug in the dongle, you will see it appear as a drive, should be able to just double click it and then go through the installation process.
Failing all that, head into a telstra store and the guys there will sort it out for you quite quickly.

  • Where is Paris can you get a replacement screen for and iPhone 5

where in Paris can you get a replacement screen for an iPhone 5?

I don't believe Apple stores in Europe replace iPhone screens. I believe they replace the whole phone.

  • Something's gone horribly wrong between 4 apple devices in my house and I am desperate for some help! I have a MacBook Air, my iPhone and my mums iPhone. And I'm having massive syncing issues! PLEASE HELP!

Ok so long story short I have a mac, a MacBook Pro and two iPhones in the house, one is mine one is my mums.
I only recently bought the MacBook Pro, I turned iCloud on on it and used my iCloud account to sync with my phone and now it has:
    A) deleted all my contacts from my phone and MacBook
    B) replaced them with the contacts from my mums phone
    C) deleted iCal from the main Mac
The problem is none of these are supposed to be linked, mum and I don't share the same apple id or log in details, so I don't know why/how this is happening.
Also I went I onto the main mac to try and see if it was an iCloud issue and there doesn't seem to be iCloud installed on the system at all, it just gives and option for "mobile me" and then asks me to install it/activate it.
Can anyone give me any clues as to why this night be happening? And how I can get my contacts back and keep the two phones and computers completely separate?
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thank you :)

Need to Resume download to complete the ongoing Process.
Last Resort, put the iPhone in DFU mode (Google How to do that). Connect in iTunes. Follow on-screen prompts to Restore. All Data would be lost, if not backed up earlier.
To save the photographs you may have to use third party software. Google is your friend.

  • Ipod classic (photo) and windows version not recognized by itunes on my macbook air. Iphone works fine and previously it also worked out with the Ipod. If someone has an answer that would be great. thanks

itunes on my mac does not any longer show my ipod classic (photo, window formated). It worked before and itunes with iphone just works fine. Any clue? Thanks.

Sorry to jump the gun, but did you connect the iPod via USB Hub on the MB Air?
If plug it into the wrong USB port, which is shared like using a USB Hub, I would suggest connecting the iPod directly to the MB Air and not via USB Hub.
But if you connect directly, have the iPod ever connect to iTunes, without problems, on this MB Air?
You got an old 4G iPod photo, based on iPod Software version 1.2.1
I mean downgrade to the iTunes version, that was working, with your iPod, but try the right USB port first before downgrading iTunes, with earlier version download here.

  • I have a Macbook Air purchased in 2011 in the US.  I am traveling in South Africa and am unsure if I need a step down voltage converter before I plug my laptop into the wall to charge it (using an outlet adapter).  Am I ok to just plug in?

So standard electrical output from wall outlets in the US is 110V - 120V, and standard output from wall outlets in South Africa is 220V - 240V.  In SA I know I can plug in an iPhone using the iPhone charging cable and it will automatically step down the voltage, thus preventing my phone from overheating.  I cannot plug in a hairdryer or flat iron without step down voltage converter in SA.  Can I use the charger that came with my US 2011 Macbook Air and plug into a wall outlet in South Africa or do I need to purchase a step down voltage converter in order to charge my laptop while in SA?

You only need a plug adaptor as long as the voltage is between 100 and 240 volts.
