Ifweb60.exe takes all CPU on webserver-Forms Prod. mgmt

I have 3 tier setup. Database 81741 on windows2000 SP3. Webserver on windows2000 SP2 using forms6i patch 11(6.0.8.20.1). Clients using IE5.05/IE6 to access database. Sometimes, a user hangs the process and kills his session from his PC, even reboots client. The process is still there on webserver and goes on taking more CPU and more memory till it cloggs the webserver. It has taken almost 100%CPU. How can we eliminate this process without rebooting the webserver.
I tried killing the session from the database end, it is still there on webserver. The user says he waited for 2 mins to respond the application and then killed using ctrl-alt-del. Is there a way to kill the session on the webserver. When we try killing using Task Manager, it says 'access denied' and wouldn't let us kill. Even, tried with FORMS60_TIMEOUT. IN normal situation, this worked but in this case where a application hanged & user killed, FORMS60_TIMEOUT even didn't kill the process ifweb60.exe.
Someone has a idea how to prevent from rebooting webserver again and again...other than to check all 100 forms for any infinite loops and fix that.
Thanks a lot.

I believe this is a known bug.
As a work-around you could try to add FORMS60_CATCHTERM=0 to the registry.
This probably will cause Dr. Watson on the webserver box, but should kill the process.
Slava.

  • Webcached.exe uses all CPU on IAS server

Hi, I'm having trouble with a process called webcached.exe according to Windows task manager, this process takes all available CPU resources, so our IAS server hangs. Anyone why this is? Any help highly appriciated! I'm pretty new to Oracle Application server, and have not experienced this before...
Is there a way to "go around" web cache until this issue is resolved, i.e. not use cache for a while perhaps? Longer responses are better than complete hangups....
I've tried to just stop the webcache process, but this apparently is not the way to go...

Your post is a while ago... but you should upgrade Web Cache to 10.1.2.3, or install it in a separate location and configure it against your backend application. This is supported.
Webcache 9.0.4 is known to have some performance issues :)

  • Never allow processes to take all cpu/mem.

    Hello,
I run Arch on a semi-old laptio (T61), and from time to time have my system freeze between all the cpu or
memory is being used by some process (Mostly my own lousy code), and wondered if tere is some tool
to never allow a process to take all system resources, so that I never end up with a super slow system.
At the moment I use cpulimit for some processes that I know might eat up a lot of cpu, but
would like to just be able to do a config somewhere so that all processes are limited somehow.
I know you can give process priority with nice, but I don't know how to prioritze to avoid
    hangups.
    Thanks!

  • Ifweb60.EXE takes 99% of CPU

Sometimes, It seems randomly, one Form Server process becomes crazy and takes 99%
    of CPU.
    My configuration is:
    Windows 2000 Server
    9iAS
    What can I do?

This can happen not just when the user closes the browser without exiting the Form, but if they do it while the client is blocked.
Under normal circumstances, if the client is waiting on the user (i.e. the cursor is flashing and the user could type or do something) then closing the browser without exiting the form is fine.
However if the user does some action, the client is blocked until the server returns. For instance, if you exectue a query, the client is blocked until the server processes the query, and returns some data to be displayed on the client.
If you close the browser while the client is blocked, the Forms client applet doesn't get the notification that the browser window has been closed. This can lead to the Forms backend process being orphaned, and it can consume a lot of CPU.
You should educate your users to exit the Form gracefully.

  • Wbengine.exe taking all CPU

Im having issues with wbengine.exe I know its the block level backup for WSB however its killing my server (see below) we are running on 2 x 600gb R1 SAS 15k disks for where the os VM is stored and 3 x 1tb nearline 1tb disks 7.2k where the data for essentials
("server folders/folder redirection" is stored with another virtual server doing very little in the background there is plenty of memory and cpu for all vms (just the two)
we have a backup on the vm start at 8 and finishes around 10 and a host backup that starts at 11 and finishes around 1
backups locally from WSB dont show to of started however they did on the host with warnings  any ideas ?
    UPDATE:
After talking to some users the issue occurred on yesterday morning, it looks like WSB is causing issues backing up when on schedule, as looking at the CPU usage from 8 at night last night. Thats when it started maxing out and the backup began, a single
one off backup seems to work fine using the settings of the schedule but scheduling seems to kill it.
To note this is going through ISCSI

    Hi,
Glad to hear that you have solved this issue and thanks for sharing your solution in the forum. Your time and efforts are highly appreciated.
    Best regards,

  • User takes all CPU on MacBook

    Hi
After a while (only Finder running) the fan is turning on and
    the Book is heating up.
When I take a look at activities the User is useing 50 % of the CPU and this till
    i turn off the Book.
    What coul'd it be ?

If you go to Activity Monitor and select "All Processes" at the top. Then, click on the "% CPU" field label to sort by the % of the CPU each process uses (you may have to click twice to get the right sort order - you want the highest at the top). Once you do this does anything stand out at the top using a big chunk of your CPU?

  • SVCHost.exe takes 100% cpu on random occasions

Ok so I have had a rather interesting problem and I don't know for sure if it is related to the sound blaster card in my computer or not.
I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS. Once in a while, usually later at night an svchost.exe process starts taking up 00% of my cpu. If I kill it and run any programs after killing it that use sound, I get no sound until I restart my PC. Programs that are running while that process takes 00% of my cpu keep their sound even after I kill the process until I close and reopen those programs. These programs consist of things like World of Warcraft, Windows Media Player, VLC Media Player and the like.
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or knows what it might be, and possibly a solution.
    Thanks
::edit:: renamed svchost.dll to correct name of svchost.exe. Was confused my bad!Message Edited by jziah86 on 05-4-200702:43 PM

Aware that svchost is not a driver. Aware that it manages the functions of any program that opens and is running on your system. Aware that Creative driver is loaded and problem with an instance of svc.host begins to display and that 00% of system resources are in use. Aware that when that instance of svc.host is ended that the problem is resolved and that the sound card will no longer function. Visitng other forums lead me to the investigate the Creative issue further. It is clear that there is a relationship between the loading of the Audigy sound card driver and the malfunction in the management of memory and system resources at a root level. The claim being made at present is that there is a conflict between the driver and something in a recent XP update from our friends and family at Microsoft. Since this is on one of my home systems, this weekend I will try to rollback to an older driver to see if it makes any difference. I will then try a different sound card to see if the problem persists. If so, I'll simply dump my Audigy card(s) and move onto something else. Hate to do it, but I don't have the time to fix their problem. Any other suggestions - especially from the Creative people who have advised that my card is beyond warranty and I can pay them to try to find a solution. Well, I'll pay for another sound card first! Don't expect them to fix my problems, but to fix their own. Like many buyers I do a lot of research BEFORE I purchase new components. Reviews and user comments mean a lot.

  • Oracle 9i AS Forms Service - ifWeb60.exe

    Hi,
I have an issue while running Oracle Forms 6i applications on Oracle 9iAS. For each access to the application the application server instantiates a new ifweb60.exe process which consumes on an average of 15-30 MB of Memory. As the number of users increase on the application server, the number of instances of ifweb60.exe is so high that the forms service goes down unable to withstand the load. Kindly help me out on this situation.
    Thanks in advance.
    Venkatesh

This is infact correct. Each user will start up a process; however because each user is running the same application, Forms will share the common information (e.g. Form layout, trigger code)..So the more users you have the more sharing that goes on.
Be also aware that reading the memory for a single user and applying that to a higher number of users is seriously flawed. When there is no contention for memory (which will be the case for a single user) the OS may allocate much more memory than is needed...
There are papers on otn.oracle.com/products/forms that show how you should correctly size an application.

You can disable the plug-in container for one or two plug-ins, or for all the plug-ins it works for. <br />

  • I have The latest Firefox installed on an older Dell, and the CA security suite thru my ISP, which takes all my CPU and causes everything to freeze when I try to access it's features. I need a free internet security program that does tax my system so much

Have older Dell Dimension 32/bit with Win XP Prof 2002. I have installed CA security suite from my ISP, which is a huge program and uses 100% of CPU on start-up & shut down, slowing everthing to a snails pace. I have removed evrything I don't need using 30 day free Revo Unistaller Pro, but when I try to access CA's Firewall to add programs to the exception rule, it will open, then freezes along with Firefox tabs and anything else. Can't even shut down from start menu. I want to get rid of CA(although it is a good program, it's too big), and go back to using my Win Firewall(or another better free firewall that's good for more than 30 days trial) and some other free internet security program that is easy, runs in the background and doesn't take all my resources and isn't just a 30 day free trial till you buy the program. I am also trying to install a wireless adapter so I can drop my ISP and use the free city/county signal as no work for 20 months!
    == This happened ==
    A few times a week
== Trying to access CA security Suite Firewall

I am the original poster, and I got rid of CA Security Suite & and loaded the Avast! which has some great features even on the freeware. No more crashes or freezing & yes I think there is a problem with CA & Firefox, but am not sure what it is. CA was a big time hog. I also got rid of my ISP and installed a Intellinet Wireless G PCI Card & now am completely wireless on my PC. Faster by far than what I was paying $50/month for & I use my Windows Firewall.

  • Plugin-container.exe is EATING cpu clock cycles and slowing down my computer big-time. Is there a fix to prevent this, or do I just have to disable this subsidiary program and take the consequences?

Whenever I have an audiovisual display running in a Firefox (5.0) tab, the program "plugin-container.exe" swamps my CPU, jumping up to 95% of processing clock cycles. This makes all online video displays hang and jump, and it's a pain in the neck. Is there any way to mitigate this?

That's supposed to indicate it's your plug-ins like Flash that is the problem.
You might try changing hardware acceleration, a setting within Flash either turn if off or on.

  • CPU goes to 100% state svchost takes all resources on Qosmio F10

CPU goes to 100% state svchost takes all resources. Norton does not find any illegal software. Have tried to list the processes (run... etc.). I get a long list, don't know what to do about it. Does anybody out there have some help?

    Hello,
if you have your note for a year or more and did not take it for an internal heatsink clean and essentials parts, yet.
One possible problem here is: Heatsink blocked with dust (CPU goes to 100% state svchost takes all resources)
90% of the high temperatures problems, unexpected shutdowns, 100%CPU all the time without running background processes, very hot keyboard area, freezing programs, are caused by the heatsink blocked with dust.
The normal temperature for the processor is between 55C and 79C. For the motherboard is around 55C~60C. When the heatsink is blocked those temperatures can reach 99C (processor) and around 80C (motherboard). Measure in Celsius degrees.
You can check it out how "hot" your Qosmio is.
Download the Everest ultimate 2006 edition V 3.50.761, look for it with Google search.
Run it and see the temperatures for CPU, Processor and motherboard on your Qosmio:
    See:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/qosmioeverest.jpg
Run the System stability test (find it under tools menu) for 10 minutes aprox.
Watch the temperatures at taskar. If it reachs more than 92C for the processor on stress mode, its time to clean the heatsink and all essential parts of your Qosmio. Attempt to the processor fan RPM, too, if they run fast and noisy, you really must perform a clean.
But it depends on the ambient environment, for a 30C summer day the processor temperature almost get the 90C. this is normal in stress mode. And the fans run without noise. Slow RPM mode.
All measured in Celsius degrees, for Farenheith please convert it.

  • Firefox uses all CPU resources when loading pages with lots of images.

I just installed XP, and when I load pages with a ton of images, say, tumblr, Firefox uses ALL CPU time until it finishes loading.
But because of the slowdown, it takes forever to download all the images.
It's not related to my connection, I've got 15mbit downstream.
I have Win7 on a different partition, and I have never had this problem.
As far as I know, all my drivers and XP are up to date.
I could have an old driver lurking, should I be looking at something specific?
I've tried to find something on Google, but I've not found anything really helpful...

I haven't gotten around to installing antivirus (or anything else, for that matter).
If I watch in Task Manager, Firefox.exe goes to 100% as soon as I load the page.
And no, that guide didn't help much. I don't have any addons or plugins yet, this is a new install.
I got a huge slowdown a bit ago, it's because it was using almost 1.5GB of RAM o_o

ifweb60 is Oracle Forms60 Server, you can find it in the
registery. If you don't need it, you can turn the server off
from services( set it to manual), then it would not startup every
time you reboot the box. If you need to keep it on, please refer
    to the forms documentations.

    Hi,
I have tried and confimed that you can download the previous version from some web-site about the version 10.5.1.42.
Remove/un-install 10.5.2.11 and restart your computer.
    Install the old version 10.5.1.42
and then you can find the "Devices" on the left column and showing synchronizing when you connect the cable.
    Good luck
