Ignore member in FInacial Report

Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to select level 0 of my product dimension. Say I have 100 members at level 0. But I do not want 50 and 51 members to be displayed in the report. So that means I want only 98 members to display. I tried the option using conditional format like if member name equals 50/51 replace with 0/#missing. I have selceted the option suppress missing and Zeros. But I can still see the rows for 50 and 51 with the values 0/#missing. How can I ignore these members?? Any idea pls help.

Hi Stefano,
Use the advanced option to ignore the selected members . In "select members window",click on view-> Advanced and write like below-
level 0,product and
not member 50 and
not member 51

  • Finacial reporting installation

    Hi,
    I am installing Hyperion essbase and planning 11.1.1.0.0.
    I find that finacial reporting asemblies are there But i am not able to enable the Financial reporting check box.
    In the Installation Type i had used 'Choose components by tier'
    Can any one Help.

    Hi,
    first make sure you have coppied all assemblies into correct folder.
    is this your first installation? Because i also faced this before, but they were all subsequent installations. you can try uninstalling (and cleaning) everything and reinstalling.

  • How to Block Account member in input reporting for some users?

    Hi experts, i need to know if is possible to block input of values for some Users in the Account Dimension so that some users can input value in the report but other user cant do it.
    I try to do this from "member access profile" but this option only allow you to define access right for one specifict parent o member.
    I mean, is posible to asigned to Account Dimension a Propertie type "OWNER" like ENTITY?
    For example: one user must to input value for the Account member "CASH", but other user dont, however i have to show the same input reporting for both users.

    I would think you could do one of the following:
    Either set account as a secured dimension.  You would then define security profiles for all account groups and assign those to your users / teams as appropriate.  Would take a while to setup initially, but if your users don't change that much it shouldn't be too difficult to manage once it's done.
    Setup different input templates that only showed the accounts you wanted each group of users to see.  Put the templates in different site folders and assign access to those sites as required.  users would then only have access to open the template applicable to them.  Would require that you basically make duplicate copies or your current template, modify and save to different site folders which could become a pain if the template requires changes (since you would now have to make the same change multiple times).
    Setup a macro in the current template so that you need to enter a password to unlock the send commands for the respective accounts.  I don't know if it can be setup to support multiple passwords - assuming it can, password 1 would unlock all accounts, password 2 would only unlock CASH accounts, password 3 would only unlock LIABILITY accounts, etc.  You then distribute the passwords to the users as appropriate.

  • Alternative to Finacial Reporting

    Hi,
    We are first timers on Hyperion.
    Recently we developed some reports using Financial Reporting since all the reports are static in nature.
    However, now we want to add more dimensions to the Essbase and its affecting all the reports. This addition will happen in future also. Modifying all the reports everytime is not a good solution.
    Is there any alternative to develop reports which are static in nature and will not require modifications if dimensions are added to the Essbase?
    Will appreciate your help.

    You're asking for the impossible...if the data source changes it will always affect reports....however, I still think the reports would work even if a dimension is added, the problem may be that you need to select a specific member of that new dimension in order to find an dimension/member combination that produces numbers.

  • Unable to map to ignore member for Essbase

    I have an FDM application, created in 9.3.1, which has Essbase as the target. I am able to map to leaf members, but unable to map to 'Ignore'. I get the following:
    Error: Error updating record.
    Detail: An invalid value was entered for the dimension (Entity)
    The 'Ignore Map Item' in Application Settings is set to "Ignore."
    Does anyone have any idea why this does not work? I've used targets of HFM and Essbase in the past without issue.

    The best way to handle this is while in the Mapping Tables, Doubl-click the Target Account (or target dimension member) field, place your mouse over the little sideways triangle and click "Browse For Target Value". If you can locate the "Ignore" in the member list then select and click the Update Grid but if you do not see the value then the Essbase metadata will have to be updated to include it.

    I need to produce the report from Jan to Cur_Mth dynamically. I can include Cur_Mth by using a substitution variable.
    But how to include the months in between Jan and Cur_Mth?

  • Hyperion Finacial Reports Schedule Batch with Mutliple POV and Datasources

    I have a report Book that has a User POV. In the Book, the reports are set to Book POV. There are multiple reports in the book, with 3 different datasources. I have created a batch with this report books. I am trying to schedule the batch using "MULITPLE" members for the POV so that the batch creates mutliple books - one for each of the cost centers in my Multiple Batch POV. The issue is that I cannot seem to define the Multiple POV list for all three datasources - only the last one seems to count, the rest resort back to the User POV? Does this only work if the report has onl a single Datasource or is there something special that has to be done to override the User POV with the Batch POV for each of the three datasources?

    Try this,
    ->> Financials. -> Financial Report Templates in that follow this steps.
    1.Report. -> Choose (Profit and Loss)
    2.Template.-> Define New -> Give the name for template.
    3.And click the Generate Chart of account button in bottom right.
    4.put the Tick mark in Subtotal Check box
    5.now u can see Formula button (Click and Open the Formula Definition window and put the Formula)
    using this button create appropriate formula for your requirement(ask help your A/C department)
    6.Chose this template in P/L.

  • Local member missing in report editor

    I have an input schedule (not developed by myself) where there are some local members. They carry formatting and formulas but are not visible in report editor.
    I'd appreciate any ideas where to start looking for them.

    Hi Madis,
    Mark the report area and click on the "show report area" on the EPM Pane. If the "Local members" are within the report area you should find them under Edit Report/Local Members. If you don't find them in there I would say that they are not local members but normal excel formulas not connected to the report itself.

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where the user will be prompted to select a a product member where it should display all the children including member. I have used @children of Current Point and I am getting the desired results.
    Is there any way where I can highlight the Parent member to bold.
    Currently the Parent member displays at the last row and I want entire row (which is the Parent) to be highlighted.

    You can do a conditional formatting with Position within (select bottom row, which will be the parent in your case).

    Hi all group members, I am working on BOXI R2. I have to ask that, How to exclude one or more than one member from the report. I know there is function of filter, through which we can see our desired members and other remaining will be excluded, but that's filter. In some of tools i have seen just do right click on a specific member and click on "Exclude" option to exclude the member. Suppose i have placed a Time dimension on the report and standing on "Month Level" which has data from 1, 2, ... 7,8, ... 11, 12 Now i just have to exclude member 7 from the report.     If you run the report in "modify" mode, then you have two options
    1) You can click on the "Show/Hide Filter Pane" button which opens up the "apply filter" pane.  From there you go to your Data panel and grab, drag, and drop an item from the Data panel into the apply filter pane and provide a constant or select a value to filter in or out from your report.
    2) You can highlight the column of data that you want to filter on, then click on the "Add Quick Filter" button.  Using the List of Values menu you either select one or multiple items that you want to include in the report.

    I am new to SSAS and cube world so my problem might not be big of a challenge for you but it is for me.
    Here is my challenge :
    My simplified datamart relation star schema model looks like this (2 dimensions and one fact):
    DATE dimension - Date_Id, Date, Fiscal_Year, Fiscal_Quearter, Fiscal_Month, Calendar_Month, etc
     CLIENT dimension – Cient_SK, Client_Id, and two  SCD2 type fields : Status,and Class and, of course, Start_Date, End_Date to keep track of SCD2 along with a Current_Flag . I can have several records for the same Client_Id
    over a given reporting  period.
    FACT – Date_ID, Client_SK, Client_Id
    Fact table is daily snapshot that loads one record per client only if a client was active on that day.
    Requirement: 
    Count number of currently active clients group by  “Status” or “Class” with option to roll-up to the total count of clients
    Count total number of clients who were active in the specific reporting period (period can be fiscal year or fiscal quarter or a month) grouped by the most recent “Label” or most recent “Status” or most recent “Class” in that reporting period.
    I created a cube and created a measure “Distinct_Count” that does just that - distinct count on Client_Id. It works just fine for current date as well as for any given reporting period and I have nice rolling-up/down thru Fiscal_Year-Fiscal_Quarter- Month.
    But I am having problem grouping by any of 3 attributes with SCD2 type in CLIENT dimension. I do not know how to get the latest active value (member) in the reporting period

    For example:
    If selected reporting period is  Fiscal_Quarter is Q2 that covers period Aug-Sep-Oct (Client_SK: 89, 95, 97) and if my client was active in that period, when I group active client’s count by “Status”
     attribute I need to count this client in the group “Good” since that was the most recent value for this client in this period (Q2) for this attribute (Status).
    I do not know if this is important but just in case: user interface  could be Excel application or any MDX enabled Microsoft or third party visualisation tool.

    Would you mind trying this and tell me your results :
    Make a simple report :TIME in column, ENTITY in page and COSTCENTER in row.
    Then click on COSTCENTER, it opened the "EPM - Member Selector"
    The dimension COSTCENTER has a property called ENTITY, so I select "ENTITY", operator is "=", Values is "<CONTEXT>" and the High Values/Dimensions is "ENTITY"
    And after this selction I have nothing !
    (I insist on that point to be clear : There are 2 different ENTITY, the first is the property of the dimension COSTCENTER and the second is a dimension)

  • Use Excel filter in protected report

    we're using BPC 10 (SP 18) for MS. I have a protected worksheet with one report. There is a local member in that report, with the values 0 or 1. I want to enable my users to filter the rows with 1, and this should be done with a button triggering some vba. My code is
    Columns("G:G").Select
    ActiveSheet.Range("G:G").AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:="1", Operator:=xlFilterValues
    The problem is, that when I hit the button, I get the error message that I have to unprotect the sheet first. Alas, the checkbox allowing auto filter in Sheet Options -> Protection is checked, so this SHOULD be allowed, as far as I understood. When I enable the auto filter manually in Excel before protecting the sheet I can use the normal filter, but not the filter via my makro.
    Does anybody have an idea how I can possibly handle this?

    I have experienced the same problem. The final solution was to protect the epm sheet with the following macro (not manually, via the Ribbon Interface):
