IIOP Connection with Session Shell
Hi there,
I am trying to test the Orcale 8.1.6.0 for EJB deployment. when I use the following command, it works fine for SYS account, but not for any other schema owners, example scott/tiger.
sess_sh -u username/password -s sess_iiop://localhost:2881:orcl
I am pretty sure that I need to assign some roles to other users ( SCOTT ) if they need to excecute the above, but i am not sure what are those.
I would cetainly appreciate if somebody can help me out on this issue.
Thanks

I just found out the answer: the user should have JAVA_ADMIN role assigned to it.

HELP!error with 8i IIOP connection
Using Jdev. 3.1 I get the following error while in the connection manager:
"An error occurred while connecting to the database:
org.omg.CORBA.CORBA_OBJECT_NOT_EXIST[completed=NO]"
The database is Oracle 8i 8.1.6
What does this mean and what do I need to do to resolve this.
Thanks...

nullIf you can't connect with session shell, drop me a line and I'll send you a white paper that discusses setting up IIOP with Oracle 8i

IIOP Connection Problem to 8i on Linux
Hi,
I have installed Oracle 8.1.5 on Linux (Red Hat 6.1 -Kernel 2.2.12) Listener is configured for IIOP connection. When I issue the command
sess_sh -u scott/tiger -s sess_iiop://192.168.6.121:2481:eswap
from the linux box it connects to the orb shell.
When I try the same command from another machine in the network I get the error
Cannot connect to service: sess_iiop://192.168.6.121:2481:eswap
I am able to connect to the database from this machine using sqlplus.
What is that I am missing here? Do I need to add this port (2481) in the /etc/services file. My listener is named as lsnreswap, and the only entry that I have made in
/etc/services is
lsnreswap 1521/tcp
Or is there any other reason for this?
I need to get this functional urgently to try deployment of ejb from JDeveloper
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanx
Gopal
nullHi,
Thanx for the tip. Listener.log shows all the
iiop connections as establish. There are no firewall between the client and server. And the listener name is back to the default one.
Still the problem remains same.
But I found out some interesting thing. Earlier my db was running with only the iiop in mts mode. (ie
mts_dispatchers="(PROTOCOL=tcp)(PRE=oracle.aurora.server.SGiopServer)" only was there in init.ora) I put this to init.ora
mts_dispatchers="(protocol=tcp)(DISP=2)(MUL=off)(pool=off)" to make net 8 connections also in mts mode.
After this when I try to connect from a client machine using sqlplus I'm getting this error
ORA-12545 - Connect failed because targer host or object does not exist.
I'm able to do a tnsping. Listener log shows the connection as establish. But I'm able to get the connection only through dedicated mode. So I have a feeling that this has something to do with the mts and not with the listener.
However I am able to connect from within my linux box using sqlplus as well as sess_sh, using iiop. v$session table shows the connection as 'shared' too.
Any idea what could be the reason?
Thanx,
Gopal

IIOP Connection Hangs: Deploying Hotel EJB from Technet
Hi,
I was trying to deploy the EJB from the sample hotel application
available at TECHNET. The System is using the standard ORacle 8i
port for ORB.
Please help identify the connection failure for IIOP connection.

nullCan you connect via the session shell to the orb namespace (with
the same service URL you are trying to deploy to) from the same
machine? This will validate the IIOP communiactions is working.
If the connection isn't working it may take quite some time to
actually error out.

Hi,
I can`t establish IIOP Connection from JDeveloper 3.0 to Oracle 8.1.5 Enterprise DB Server.
Let me describe my situation:
One PC running Oracle 8.1.5 DB Server under NT Workstation 4.0 (host: leobeln)
Another PC running JDeveloper 3.0 under NT Workstation 4.0 too.
At server side, I used Net8 Assistant to configure a listener as follow:
Name: listener_iiop
Protocol: TCP/IP
Port: 2481
Host:leobeln, and checked the option: "Dedicate this endpoint for IIOP Connections"
I set de Database Service tab as follow:
Global DB Name: Test
SID: Test (both name and SID are correct)
Finally I saved this configuration and sarted the listener using LSNRCTL utility.
When try to test connection from JDev, I receive the following error message:
Can`t find resource for bundle oracle.aurora.jndi.sess_iiop.Message, key UNKNOWN_SERVICE:default.
The connection properties are:
UserName: scott
Connection Type: IIOP
URL: sess_iiop://leobeln:2481:Test
The final objective is to deploy an App Module (BC4J) on Oracle 8i platform as EJB Session Bean
somebody may help me ?
Thanks
PPTry connecting with the command line sess_sh tool that comes with your database. If that fails as well, then post a message to the Oracle JVM forum here for assistance.
Take Care,
Rob

Any suggestions on what I can ask my IT department to change on the server so I can connect would be greatly appreciated.Hi Jeremy,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
From the error and other description it seems that there is some misconfiguration with setup. You need to provide the FQDN name of the server as might server name is not resolving its name properly and so facing issue. As seems from below details:
[2014-Nov-26 15:52:20] RDP (0): Final rdp configuration used:gatewayhostname:s:gato.gibbscam.com
screen mode id:i:0
use multimon:i:1
session bpp:i:24
full address:s:dev-JeremyS2.gibbs.local
Configuration used and full address name both appears different so please verify configuration accordingly.
Please check the DNS record, check certificate whether it match FQDN name of the server with certificate name, also try to check to connect with IP address and see what result you can find.
You can follow below guide to configure RD Gateway and after that verify the result.
1. Deploying Remote Desktop Gateway RDS 2012
2. How To Work with RD Gateway in Windows Server 2012
Hope it helps!
Thanks.

IIOP connection from JDeveloper does not work
I'm trying to run some sample EJB programs but cannot connect to the IIOP port from JDeveloper. I have installed Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise on my machine, and it includes a listening location for IIOP on port 2481 under the listener. I can connect to JServer on this database from DBA Studio using various user/passwords, so the IIOP connection seems to work in principle.
But when I try to set up an IIOP connection from JDeveloper (v.3.1.1.2), the "Test" button fails to connect, but does not give any details on the reason for the error.
I have tried using the command line utility sess_sh, but this fails telling me the URL is invalid, even though it is exactly the same as the URL I connected to in DBA Studio.
Why can I connect from DBA Studio but not from JDeveloper, and can anyone tell me how to get this connection to work?
(It shouldn't be this hard to get a simple "Hello world" EJB to work!)
Thanks,
ChrisYou must use Jdev 3.2.x to communicate with RDBMS 8.1.7.
Jdev 3.1.x.x is for RDBMS 8.1.6. -

You can clearly see that the system object 'sapdev' is not configured correctly/at all - you are trying to launch transaction iView
(WEBGUI) and in order to do so you should configure the 'internet transaction server' category of the system object
with the hostname of the ITS server.
Generally the template is
<System.Access.ITS.protocol>://<System.Access.ITS.hostname>/sap<ESID>/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?\....
So that's why you got

Cannot connect to local network while connected with EasyVPN
Hi All,
I'm looking on many forums for an answer, but I cannot get it working.
I have configured EasyVPN with CCP and also with CLI. I had it both working perfect, except the most important thing.
I can connect with the Cisco VPN client to the router, but i'm not able to connect or even ping a system inside the remote network. My laptop gets an IP address from the address pool of the router.
I really hope someone can help me before my manager is losing his patience :-)
Here is my config. (before someone is mentioning it, i have to clean up my config a bit...I mean, look at the acl's )

Solved. Travel router WTR54GS sharing one wireless hotspot connection with multiple devices
Hi, Passing on info I've learned.
The manual for the WTR54GS mentions being able to "...use multiple devices on a single hotspot account in a coffee shop or airport lounge...". See my original posting, "How to set up a wireless private bubble at paid hotspot? WTR54GS?", which ended in a dead end. I subsequently had a Linksys live chat session and the representative provided the solution. Perhaps worthy to be included in the Wireless FAQ?
Situation: you have access to a paid hotspot (hotel room, meeting room, etc.) and you want to share the connection with several devices, also wirelessly.
Solution: the WTR54GS can accept an incoming Internet connection wirelessely and re-broadcast that connection to form your own private bubble or network. (Note the WTR54GS can also accept an incoming Internet connection via Ethernet cable).
Linksys Live Chat pointed me to these web pages.
Go to the Linksys Easy Answers page: For a schematic of the concept of "associating the travel router to a hotspot (wirelessly)" search for Easy Answer ID# 4831
URL for above is http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4831&p_created=1167963305&p_sid=GmLnq3Zi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NjImcF9wcm9kcz0wJnBfY2F0cz0xNzIxLDE3MjMmcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0yLjE3MjMmcF9zY2ZfbGFuZz0xJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9V1RSNTRHUw**&p_li=&p_topview=1
There is a "configuration simulator" that shows the options for selecting a wired or wireless incoming Internet Type.
http://linksys.com/ui/files/WTR54GS/1.0_15/Setup-Wireless.htm
The hotspot has to be "open", that is transmitting an SSID and with no WEP or WPA key. It may have a log-in page accessible via a web browser, this is okay as this will be passed onto the connected device.
My personal application is to be able to connect a PDA that has a 801.2b wifi to a 801.2g wireless network. I haven't tried it but if this works, it will extend the useful life of my PDA in a "g" environment. Will report back once I find a "g" only environment. Comments?

Dang, the long URL is making for a really wide message. Is there a fix?

Message Edited by tony_vancouver on 02-28-2008 02:12 PMThere are two conditions which must be met in order to use your WTR54GS to "extend" an incoming, wireless internet connection:
The incoming connection must be unsecured. You have already covered this point;
The security settings on your WTR54GS can only be set to "WEP," or to "Disabled." If you choose "WEP," then you can use either a 40/64-bit, or a 128-bit key.
If those two conditions have been met, then it works fine -- says the guy who is sharing one paid internet conneciton in his hotel amongst three devices, and with co-workers in nearby rooms. -
How to send two request in the same connection with HttpURLConnection?
As the title, I want to send two or more requests in the same connection with HttpsURLConnection..I wish all requests are in the same session.
My code is as following:
package test1;
//import javax.net.ssl.*;
import java.net.*;
import java.io.*;
public class httptest {
public httptest() {
public void test() {
HttpURLConnection uc = null;
String urlStr="";
urlStr="http://172.16.245.151/test/page1.jsp";
try {
URL u = new URL(urlStr);
uc = (HttpURLConnection) u.openConnection();
uc.setRequestMethod("GET");
uc.setDoOutput(true);
// uc.connect();
OutputStream out = uc.getOutputStream();
out.flush();
out.close();
catch (Exception ex) {
System.out.println(ex.getMessage());
public static void main(String[] args) {
httptest tt = new httptest();
tt.test();
The sample class just can send a request..Now we think of the sentence :uc = (HttpURLConnection) u.openConnection();
Obviousely, a HttpURLConnection can just have a Object of the Class URL, and the Class URL have no setURL mothed. So I can't use a HttpURLConnection to send two request.
I just want the HttpURLConnect is the same to IE...Do you understand what I mean?
Any helps will be appreciated...As the title, I want to send two or more requests in the same connection with HttpsURLConnection..I wish all requests are in the same session.

Filter recordset with session variable
This has never happened to me before, but for some reason, my
recordset that drives a dynamic table won't filter results based on
a session variable. I know session variables are working because I
have the session variable echo on the page (dragged-n-dropped my
session variable from the Bindings panel to my page), and that
works fine. So why can't I filter my recordset with the same
session variable??? What's going on?
PS: I've attached my result page's code to this
message.Gabe the Animator wrote:

The issue is that PHP doesn't "work" with session values
until the session has started, and that must be done on each page,
and must be done in the code *above* any reference to a session
variable. The code you posted has the session_start() after it
tries to use the session value ito filter the recordset. So move
this last line of code ( session_start(); ) above $colnam_rsSales =
"-1". Better yet, use:
if(!session_id()){
session_start();
To prevent some versions of PHP from generating a
warning/notice if you've called session_start() on the page already
and you call it again.

Does OC4J support RMI/IIOP connections ?
Hi,
I have only one question :
Does OC4J support IIOP connections ?
I'd like to connect as EJB client to OLAPService on Oracle9i server (CORBA object), but I can't.
Thanks in advanceThanks for your timely post Debu.
I would like to state that I read and followed the guides (same files as those ponted by the links you just provided) and tried this:
1. Sample J2EE Application using ORMI in OC4J Standalone (this works ok)
2. Same but now using ORMIS (this also works fine)
3. Tried same J2EE App using IIOP; took these steps:
3.1 commented out the rmi.xml security lines,
3.2 enabled ports in internal-settings.xml,
3.3 changed the jndi.properties - now using corbaname URL,
3.4 enabled the IIOP stub generation in the JVM settings at oc4j startup, and finally
3.5 deployed the EAR using the generateIIOP flag.
The result: the exception I posted above
4. Tried with IIOP/SSL, did these steps:
4.1 configured the keystore settings in both internal-settings.xml and ejb_sec.properties
4.2 and added <ior-security-config> config elements to orion-ejb-jar.xml.
The exception here is a little bit different:

How to verify the Source systems connectivity with BWQ System.
Hi All,
I have diff source systems. And my requirement is to check the source systems connectivity with BWQ (BW Quality sys). please any body tell me the steps how to check the source system connectivity ?
Thanks & Regards,
ManjuHi Manjula,
If you encounter problems when establishing a connection to your target server, check the following:
A message box appears while performing one of the following actions:
Setting connection by choosing Apply to local session.
Testing connection settings by choosing Test settings.
Creating SAP TSQL objects
If errors occurred, they are displayed in the respective message box.
Check developer trace files in ST11.
Test connection:
For RFC related errors, check the RFC connection via SM59
For database multi-connect errors, check if you can connect to the target SQL Server with the SQL Server Query Analyzer. Also check if the DBCON entries are correct.
Regards,
RK
