Illustrator path to Presets/Scripts including locale

Hi,
I've made a little jsx Illustrator script I'd like to pack as an extension.
Looked at MXI tech note Path Tokens appending and found the $presets token.
Unfortunately it does NOT include the locale in it's path.
For example, my path is /Applications/Adobe Creative Suite 5/Adobe Illustrator CS5/Presets.localized/en_GB/Scripts
For other locales that will be different and the $presets toke doesn't help, it's the sames as $illustrator/Presets.localized as far as I can tell.
How can can I set the path of my script to Illustrator's Scripts folder from my MXI ?

Hello Carl,
Thank you very much for taking your time for this.
It looks promising, but unfortunately this doesn't fully work as expected.
I've updated XManConfig.xml as advised and repackaged/installed my script
but it gets written into en_US instead of en_GB.
Not sure how the $LOCALE token works.
The 'workaround' I have in place at the moment works, but it's pretty messy/hacky:
I copy the script for EVERY locale illustrator has.
Even with this, I'm not sure if all the possible install locales are the ones that are listed
in the Illustrator Download page:
<!-- Illustrator Install Locales -->

I really hope you're solution can be tweaked to work as it would be cleaner to update XManConfig.xml along with the script than making loads of unneccesary copies.
Regarding the next release, yes, the localized presets token would be very helpful.

  • Has anyone run into the I/O error 52 when trying to load something from a relative path in extend script?

    I'm having issues when loading something in a relative path through a script, on my computer I have no issues, but on 2 other devices at work, it's not working. Even at home on a PC and mac I haven't run into problems, anyone have insight on this?
    Here's where it fails:
    #include common.jsx
    It's loading this in the same path another script is called from. Thoughts?

    I remembered we have weird permission issues at work. Somewhere between my Home Windows 8 machine(horrible permissions issues with network), my home mac, email and my work computer, some permission got out of whack. The workaround for this was copying the file to my desktop, back to the exact same spot on the network. This resolved all issues.

    How can I include local fonts in my finished edge reflow website?
    The website has to run without internet connection and the use of webfonts. I have already tried to to include fonts manually but this wasn't working.

    I would like this too, as it would save a lot of time using icons in the form of icon fonts.

  • Set file path in report scripts

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to set the file path to save the extracted data in report scripts, if so please let me know how to do it.
    We can choose the path when executing the script in script editor but how to set the file path in the script itself.
    Thanks in Advance

    You cannot set in in the report script itself.
    But rather you can set the output file and path where the output should be extracted.
    1. When you manually run from EASS console, you can specify the path and the file name
    2. When you use Maxl to run a report script, you can specify.
    Have a look at the Export Data
    Hope it helps

  • Is it possible to change the Presets Scripts Folder Location?

    Hi,
    I work with Photoshop on a daily basis for my job, but my company has the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets\Scripts folder admin-locked (due to it's location in the Program Files folder. I've already asked IT, but they told me that they are unfortunately unable to give me access to that folder because my user profile can't be given admin-rights (due to company policy). I'd really like to change the location of the scripts folder so that I can add some scripts of my own to be able to use in Photoshop.
    Is this possible or is there any sort of workaround?
    Thank you all in advance!

    You can always use browse to go to a different location - I know it's not ideal, but it does tend to remember that folder once you navigate to it.  I would push your IT people about getting you access to that folder.  I also work in for a company that severely limits access to program files, but I made my case that I need to have access to the Photoshop subfolders to do my job.  They should be able to grant you access to just that folder.

  • Does SQL Developer support a default Path to SQL scripts

    Just started using SQL Developer.
    In the past, I created shortcuts on my PC desktop to run SQLPLUS to the different
    instances as follows:
    1. Create a shortcut to PLUS80W.exe
    2. Set the property "Start in" to a directory where the SQL scripts are located.
    3. Add the login/password@instance to the end of the shortcut.
    In this way, ypu only needed to click on the shortcut to log into SQLPLUS and run your
    scripts via @script.sql etc.
    Can you setup a default path to SQL scripts SQL Developer so that it can locate
    the scripts on your PC ?

    I did notice in version 13.43 that if you close SQL Developer with a SQL script open in the SQL Worksheet, when you startup SQL Developer the next time it automatically opens the file in the SQL Worksheet with no database connection. It also sets the default path for SQL scripts to be the directory where your open SQL file resides. If you right-click in the SQL Workshop and then click on "Open File" the directory defaults to the directory of the SQL file that is open.

  • Can Destination Folder be part of a Preset script?

    Is it possible, from within a Preset script, to select the option to "Move to another folder" and select the destination folder as part of the Preset script?
    In other words, when I select a Preset, there would be no need for me to then select "Move to another folder" and browse to the destination folder before hitting "Rename".
    This feature would not only save steps for the user, but would prevent mistakes as a result of failing to change the default Destination Folder option or browsing to the wrong folder.

    but as is often the case, Adobe's website crashed with the message "It's no longer possible to create a Photoshop.com account"
    While I agree with your statement that Adobe is quite capable of messing up their websites I don't understand this one.
    You don't need to create a new account, just sign in with your Adobe Account (top right of page, next to Adobe logo), the same you've already used for this Bridge forum and other Adobe sites.
    I just checked and had no problem at all signing in with my Adobe ID

    Hi
    can you say how to pass this mpath to n number of shell script??
    i need to update n number of script.ie. i need to pass $mpath variable to n number of script.
    example:
    profile_chk.sh contain only :
    sqlplus apps/<pass> @/u02/uatdb/.DBA-Scripts/profile_chk.sqlprofile_chk.sql contain:
    SELECT A.PROFILE_OPTION_ID,A.LEVEL_ID,A.LEVEL_VALUE,A.PROFILE_OPTION_VALUE,V.USER_PROFILE_OPTION_NAME
    FROM APPS.FND_PROFILE_OPTION_VALUES A, APPS.FND_PROFILE_OPTIONS_VL V
    WHERE A.PROFILE_OPTION_ID =V.PROFILE_OPTION_ID
    AND V.USER_PROFILE_OPTION_NAME like '%Debug Log%';
    select t.user_profile_option_name, profile_option_value
    from apps.fnd_profile_options o
    ,apps.fnd_profile_option_values v
    ,apps.fnd_profile_options_tl t
    where o.profile_option_id = v.profile_option_id
    and o.application_id = v.application_id
    and profile_option_value = 'Y'
    and start_date_active = SYSDATE
    and o.profile_option_name = t.profile_option_name
    and level_id=10001
    and (upper(t.user_profile_option_name) like '%PERSONALIZ%'
    and upper(t.user_profile_option_name) not like '%PERSONALIZ%WYSIWYG%'
    order by user_profile_option_name;
    select t.user_profile_option_name, profile_option_value, application_name
    from apps.fnd_profile_options o
    ,apps.fnd_profile_option_values v
    ,apps.fnd_profile_options_tl t
    ,apps.fnd_application_tl a
    where o.profile_option_id = v.profile_option_id
    and o.application_id = v.application_id
    and profile_option_value = 'Y'
    and start_date_active = SYSDATE
    and o.profile_option_name = t.profile_option_name
    and a.application_id = level_value
    and level_id=10002
    and t.language = a.language
    and upper(t.user_profile_option_name) like '%PERSONALIZ%'
    order by user_profile_option_name, application_name;now i need a script say install.sh
    which will update the location of profile_chk.sql in the profile_chk.sh.
    this install.sh will contain n numbers of
    install -c profile_chk.sh /usr/bin so that all user can access this shell script as a command.
    whenever the testing goes one server contains two instance so each everytime i need to monitor locks and invalid objects and etc so i need to use this scripts as a commands.for that reason i need this install -c for each scripts.and i need to visit different places also.so ineed this install.sh.my idea is basically work properly once and enjoy times lazily :-) so whenever i move to new place i shall only run this install.sh once and use those scripts lazily.

  • Copy Illustrator contents to Indesign (Scripting) - Urgent

    Hi,
    I need to copy the contents of illustrator to indesign using scripting. Can any of you please help me to copy the contents from illustrator to indesign.
    Thnaks for help in advance

    ... Erm. What was the difference, then?
    BridgeTalk is a way to comunicate between Adobe applications -- for example, you can use it to trigger an InDesign script from Bridge to process selected indd-files (thumbnails) in Bridge. And vice versa, you can run a Bridge script from InDesign -- e.g. to get some metadata that you can't get directly from InDesign.

    Hi Matthias,
    Sorry, if this reply seems like a products plug (which it is), but this is really how we solve this software engineering challenge at JKI...
    At JKI, we create VI Packages (which are basically installers for LabVIEW instrument drivers and toolkits) of our reusable code (using the package building capabilities of VIPM Professional).  We keep a VI Package Configuration file (that includes a copy of the actual packages) in each of our project folders (and check it into source code control just as we do for all our project files).  We also use VIPM Enterprise to distribute new VI Packages over the network.
    Also, as others have mentioned, we use the JKI TortoiseSVN Tool to make it easy to use TortoiseSVN directly from LabVIEW.
    Please feel free to contact JKI if you have any specific questions about these products.
    Thanks,
    -Jim

  • If script executing locally- do this, if remote-do that

    hello everyone,
      need some advice on the best way to do this, not sure if some logic like this is even needed, i may be over thinking it.
    First a little background:
    I have a clipbucket 2.6 site.  works great on remote.  when i install with xampp on my personal computer errors being thrown of
    Call to undefined method ADODB_mysql::select()
    now i found a fix for this on their site, it is to change a line in their code:
    require 'adodb/adodb.inc.php';
    to something that will reference the file correctly in a local environment.  some people suggest
    require '/FULL PATH TO/adodb/adodb.inc.php';
    but that does not work for me, i get errors of not being able to find file, turns out it only works on wamp or lampp, i use xampp
    THIS is what works on my local xampp test server:
    require 'C:\xampp\htdocs\videoz\includes\adodb\adodb.inc.php';
    NOW MY QUESTION:
    require 'C:\xampp\htdocs\videoz\includes\adodb\adodb.inc.php';
    will not work on remote to reference the file correctly.
    How can i make some logic to decide if a script is being executed on local or remote and include a filepath accordingly?
    if file exists?
    server root?
    suggestions?'
    ideas?
    is this even the right way to go about this?  I cant figure out a way to scructure the include to work with both, i have it disabled to use variables in include statements (whatever its called), ha
    any suggestions on how to do this effectively and most importantly safely??
    thanks a ton for your attention!

    as i tried to explain in my first post, (maybe not all that well but i tried) the path to the file is different on the remote and localhost.  Normally a file refrence can be structured to not make this a big deal.  But in this particular situation xampp does not recognize the short path or the FULL PATH TO way of doing things.  I agree it sucks, but it is what it is.  as long as the if else is structured effeciently and securely, it would make a cross platform solution.  Plus some poeple only use the clipbucket cms locally, kindof like a picture album, this way they can use it too.
    Thanks Rob, thats kindof what I was leaning towards, just wasnt sure if there was a better way of doing it.  This topic i found a few places on the clip bucket forum and neither of them had a solid cross platform solution.  Just thought id check with the adobe crowd before i posted a solution.
    My final code if anyone is curious:
    if($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] !== 'C:/xampp/htdocs')
    //works for remote
    require 'adodb/adodb.inc.php';
    }else{
    //works for localhost
    require 'C:\xampp\htdocs\videoz\includes\adodb\adodb.inc.php';
    Thanks a lot everyone!

  • Pkgman - a bash script for local package and PKGBUILD management

    hi all,
    here is a script which manages a local repository and lets you edit
    PKGBUILDs and other related files, automatically generates checksums,
    build packages, add them to your local repo and so on.
    it also has AUR support for submitting tarballs, leaving comments, etc.
    get it from here:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/pkgman/
    and AUR package:
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=17100
    you need abs, curl and pacman and optionally namcap and desktop-file-utils.
    RTFM online:
    http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/p … n_man_page
    first of all copy the pkgman.conf and AUR.conf files from /usr/share/pkgman to ~/.config/pkgman/  or ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/pkgman - if ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME} is set,
    edit these two files and then run
    pkgman --runmefirst
    pkgman doesn´t install anything. if you want it just builds the package and moves it to your local repository. install it then with pacman.
    it also has no dependency handling. there are many other tools which provide this.
    the main intention was to keep track of package versions, different PKGBUILD versions and own AUR submitted tarballs; also to keep a clean local repository and clean build directories.
    pkgman is stable now. i´m using it for months without any issues.
    however, if there are problems or feedback please post them here.
    vlad
    changelog:
    version 2.4:
           *pkgman now respects the PKGDEST and SRCDEST variables from makepkg.conf. (though it still moves the src.tar.gz and .pkg.tar.gz to package backup directory).
    version 2.5:
           *pkgman uses PKGDEST if SRCDEST not set in makepkg.conf.
    version 2.6 -> r26:
           *changed version system: version 2.6 is now r26!
           *minor changes: > pkgman uses now the $SHELL variable.
                                    > new and more comprehensible manpage description (thanks to bender02)
    version r27:
           *changed SRCDEST since it's only a cache dir. all files (pkg.tar.gz and src.tar.gz) go to PKGDEST.
    version r28:
           *added new variable ShellCommand to pkgman.conf. Default is $SHELL.
           *One might use an external application (like screen or xterm) to switch to build directory and edit files simultaneously.
    version r30:
           *minor changes. nothing crucial
    r32: *OverwriteExistingPackage isn't used anymore. one can delete it from ~/.config/pkgman/pkgman.conf.
           *minor changes
    version r33:
           *"-l|--list" also shows installed package version and available ABS/AUR PKGBUILD version for given package.
           *"-a|--abs" can now also be used with other options (like "-e")
    r39: * when backing up src.tarballs it asks whether to backup the source file or not
           * more detailed "--list" option - also shows if package is installed or not and available ABS/AUR version
           * added prompt to clean up directory after makepkg
           * when checking pkg.tar.gz also possibility to check for conflicts with files of already installed packages
           * use $PAGER instead of less
           * --help directly shows the manpage
           * --shorthelp shows a brief usage overview
           * added a custom prompt, but only when using bash (is somehow experimental - works fine here for me)
           * minor internal changes
           * pkgman also reads ~/.aurvote file for getting aur name and password. if one already uses aurvote then there is no need for the
             ~/.config/pkgman/AUR.conf file.
    r40: * new manual page & rewrite of usage function
           * both option "--flush" and "--flushall" were omitted in favor of the more versatile "--cleanup" option
           * pkgman <packagename> checks now if <packagename> is owned by user
           * backup option after each editing
           * added license
           * minor internal changes
    r41: * just small bug fixes, nothing crucial.
    r42: * more bugs fixed.
    r45: * new options added:
              >   --listversions: list local and available versions of installed packages from LocalPackages directory
              >  --getownpackages: synchronize local own packages with AUR
           * added new variable in pkgman.conf:
              > ListOutputInPager: output of, for example, "--list" or "--own" is piped into $PAGER
           * added a new optional dependency "desktop-file-utils" for validating desktop entry files
           * also supports now auto-generation of sha sums not only md5
           * internal fixes due to AUR interface changes:
              > use of json interface
              > correct parsing of package category
           * added 2 proto files (located under /usr/share/pacman):
              >  proto.desktop: a template for *.desktop files
              > PKGBUILD-lib32.proto: a template for lib32 packages for x86_64
           * some code changes and fixes
    r46: * added new option to pkgman.conf (AutoGenerateSums).
             > if AutoGenerateSums=no then pkgman asks whether to generate checksums or not.
             > if set to yes it behaves like in former versions.
    r52: * "--getownpackages" with more than 100 packages works again
           * added new option "--cachecopy":
              For each package in CacheCopyList (new variable in pkgman.conf) get existing package from pacman's cache directory - if
              CopyPkgFromCache (new variable in pkgman.conf) is set to yes - and/or create a source tarball of PKGBUILD and related files from ABS -
              if CopySrcFromABS (new variable in pkgman.conf) is set to yes - and copy them to package backup directory.
           * added new variables to pkgman.conf:
               > "CacheCopyList=file" - batch backup file, one package per line - default location is "$HOME/.config/pkgman/package.list".
               > "CopySrcFromABS=[yes|no]"
               > "CopyPkgFromCache=[yes|no]"
           * some bugfixes
           * docs completed
           * CacheCopyList should look like
    package1
    package2
    #this is a comment
    ! this too
    package3
    !package4
    r54: * renamed "--listversions" option to "--diffversions". makes more sense!
              from the man page:
                  pkgman --diffversions
                  Show differing ABS/AUR versions of installed packages from LocalPackages.
    r55: * minor changes.
    r57: * testing release
           * added a new option "--rollback":
               "pkgman <packagename> --rollback" - checks  http://arm.kh.nu for available package versions,
                                                          lets you choose one, fetches the package and
                                                          moves it to the <packagename> backup directory (if "--repoadd" is used).
    r59: * stable release
           * new option "--rollback" (see r57):
                   it checks http://arm.kh.nu (Arch Rollback Machine) for available package versions,
                   downloads chosen file and moves it to local repository (if "-r|--repoadd"  is used).
            * posting files/comments/etc to AUR should work now again.
    r65: *stable release
           * new option "-M,--meta" to create metapackages and add them and their dependencies to local repository.
              it searches for deps inside the backup directories, pacman's cache and if the packages are not available, it tries to fetch the missing
              dependencies from the Arch Rollback Machine site (http://arm.kh.nu).
    r66: * minor fixes
    r68: * some bugfixes
           * "--repoadd" and "--Reporemove" now accurately removes old packages from LocalRepository
    r69: * small bugfixes when listing packages with similar names
           * curl retries now 5 times if connection is not established
    r75: * "--cachecopy" does not try to dl sourcefiles when backing up ABS PKGBUILDs
           * some work on package splitting
           * further internal changes
    r76: * minor mistakes with "ln" purged
    r79: * mostly small changes
           * "--cleanup" now also removes uninstalled packages from LocalRepository
    r81 & r80: * added AUR v1.6.0 support (use more json)
                    * small ARM changes ("--rollback")
    r85:
          * pkgman supports pkg.tar.xz packages
          * some code rewrite, bugs purged (hopefully)
    r113:
          * pkgman now supports building split packages through makepkg.
             If you already use pkgman you need to rerun "pkgman --runmefirst" after updating.
          * new  "-t,--template" option ("pkgman <packagename> --template <alt. packagename> [--pkgbuildversion <version>] [options]").
             Useful to create a new PKGBUILD and use an existing one as a template.
          * new option: "--conf /path/to/alternate/conf/file" - Specify another configuration file.
          * pkgman now uses ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/pkgman or $HOME/.config/pkgman - if first not set - as the default location for its conf files.
    r116:
          * check inet conection when submitting src tarballs to AUR
          * some bugs
          * updated manpage on sf
    For further details please read the manual page.

    I'm having some troubles with it (perhaps missing dependencies, and forgotten hardcoded dirs?):
