  • I'm working mostly with CS6 Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro X. Can I update from 10.6.8 to Mavericks without any problems?

Can I update to Mavericks without any problems for CS6 Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro X?

I can't guarantee it, but I think it's very likely you'll have no problems. Mavericks is now up to 10.9.3, and it's extremely stable.

  • Can not create hi res pdf in Acrobat Pro v9 - distiller

I am having problems creating a high res PDF in Acrobat Pro 9.0, it looks like distiller will not remember or accept that I am selecting hi res definitions before I print from Quark v6.0.

You're better off asking in the SDK forum:

  • Can't print from CS4 (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)

    Here is the issue...
When I try to print from any of the CS4 programs (illustrator, photoshop, or acrobat) most times I get the
spinning color wheel and eventually the application quits.  Sometimes I do get to the print dialog box but that's as far as
I get.  The color wheel will start spinnng again.
Both CS4 and CS2 are installed on my computer.  It is a Mac mini.
However, when I log on under a different profile (administrator) it prints fine.
I had an issue with CS2 and had to create a new profile.  Then I got CS4, still using the newly created profile.
    Thoughts?

We followed your instructions, deleting the Settings folder and then
    removing
the main printer (Konika Minolta Bizhb 450 (Fiery X3eTY)).  We then
    put the
    printer's IP address back in.
After this, we test printed a file in Illustrator to a Dell (which we
    did not
    uninstall).  It printed without issue.
After reinstalling a driver from Minolta's site (Fiery X3eTY 35C-KM
    PS v2.0
eu), all of the presets (including the user login information) were
    back.  We
then attempted to print from Illustrator.  The print dialog box
    popped up
without any problems.  When we selected "Printer," the color wheel began
spinning.  After a few minutes, the Force Quit option said that
    Illustrator
    was not responding.
This is what we are running on specifically:
    Mac mini
    Mac OS X 10.4.11
Process 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo
    Memory 1.25 GB 667 Mz DDR2 SDRAM
The memory info reads as follows
Memory Slot         Size    Type            Speed       Status
    Bank 0/DIMM0        1 GB    DDR2 SDRAM      667 MHz     OK
    Bank 1/DIMM1        256 MB  DDR2 SDRAM      667 MHZ     OK

  • Reinstalling Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, Lightroom on new MBPro

  • Acrobat Pro 10.1.10 always freezes in OS X Mavericks 10.9.4

Double-clicking a PDF in the Finder launches Acrobat Pro, but functionality is limited. Turning a page freezes it. Performing a Find freezes. Performing a Force Quit shows it is Not Responding. I can re-launch it, but not open a PDF.
This is part of the CS 5.5 package. (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro).

Since I couldn't find an answer in the Adobe forums, I examined my installation.
First, I used the Acrobat Uninstaller and took the plunge.
Then I used the uninstaller in MacKeeper. To be safe, I restarted my MacBookPro.
I opened the diskimage file DesignStandard_CS5_5_LS1.dmg and discovered in the {aylods folder a file called Adobe Acrobat X Installer.pkg. I tried installing from there and it seemed to work OK. That is, I could open a single-page PDF from the Finder, and print it. Then Acrobat would quit. The "Find Updates" command in the Help menu returned an error message.
So I opened (without uninstalling the program) the Install application, and to my delight, found a way to select Acrobat Pro to install, without the other applications. Further, my authorization number was automagically filled in!
Within 2-3 minutes I had a functioning Acrobat Pro 10.0.0 - it opened multipage document, I could turn the page, search, etc. I did "Check for Updates" and found 10.1.10 available. It downloaded quickly, installed correctly.
I can now call this issue resolved. I just wish it had been easy to find instructions about how to reinstall Acrobat Pro from the downloaded disk image file. Yay! Got my application back.

  • Compress tagged PDF from commandline w/ Acrobat Pro X or Distiller

    Hi,
I'd like to use acrobat pro or distiller from the commandline to open a tagged pdf, optimize/compress it, and then close it. It would be helpful to run the accessibility reports this way too, but is not essential. I've read through the distiller API and javascript API and can't find information on how to do this.
    Any help would be appreciated—thanks,
    Jack

I'm using a 15" Macbook Pro running OSX6.8 and cannot upgrade. I have a subscription to Adobe CC but none of these work on this so I was on with Adobe for 5 hours trying to install and launch Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Muse, and Acrobat Pro from CS6. Well, InDesign is the only one that works and I have a ton of work due! I don't have a serial number for Photoshop or Illustrator except for CS3, and they don't work. InDesign gave me no problems. Illustrator says it can't work on this machine. Photoshop needs a serial number. I'm stumped and getting anxious and freaked out. Can anyone help? Adobe Chat is down right now.

if you have a cc subscription, close ps > sign out and then back in to your cc desktop > open ps.

  • How come the Adobe Wiki says Photoshop CS5 inclues Acrobat Pro 9.3 but mine doesn't include it?

I was reviewing what is supposed to be included with Photoshop CS5 and it says it includes Acrobat Pro 9.3 but mine only contains Photoshop.  Mine is an upgrade from CS3 but should that matter?  The CS5 matrix shows CS5 contains 9.3 but mine doesnt?

CS really has only one meaning. Creative Suite. Unfortunately, it's the name of not two but many, many things, but all for the same reason.
Creative Suite is a suite, which is easy enough. CS5 is the fifth major version of Creative Suite.
Where it can get confusing is that the apps in the suite are also known by the suite name
Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5, InDesign CS5 for instance.  And you can buy them separately.
So if you buy Creative Suite 5 you get all three and more (depending on the suite you buy). But if you buy, say, Illustrator CS5 that's just Illustrator.
Where it gets really confusing is that the Acrobat team never joined the club. So while some Creative Suites include some Acrobats the versions never match up. You have to use a reliable source. You may not be aware that ANYONE CAN EDIT Wikipedia, so while it is interesting, and often accurate, you can never use it to settle an argument...

  • Can I make a PDF form that can be filled/saved in Illustrator/InDesign without Acrobat Pro?

Can I make a PDF form that can be filled out and (more importantly saved) in Illustrator or InDesign without having to use Adobe Acrobat Pro?
I only have Adobe Reader XI. Do I need to purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro in order to make a PDF form that can be filled out and saved by others? or is it possible to do this solely through Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Adobe Reader?

InDesign can export to a filable form, assuming you add the fields in InDesign (6/CC) and export as an interactive PDF. You can't create a form with Reader or Illustrator. You also can't Reader-enable with anything other than Acrobat, so Reader users will have to use version 11 in order to save a filled-in form.
