Im confused about my plan change soon because of this

OK i spoke with an instore rep about making changes to my calling plan on Saturday and the rep told me if i were to make changes to my plan i would no longer have the connect plan (which is what i have currently), then i call Verizon yesterday over the phone because i have to terminate a line on my account, she told me i can still keep my plan and go down to a individual plan with the connect plan and i told her thats not the what the in store rep told me. So who is really telling the truth here? Because i was under the impression i wouldn't have the plan anymore and now im being told i am???

It could have been a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, if you choose to change your plan to an individual line you will have to change to a new plan. The connect plan is discontinued, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for the RAW files. I have DNG 8.7 but wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon Thanks for any advice

Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced in the latest version of LR 5.7 and ACR 8.7 on Novemder 18th 2014.
Further updates to LR 4 were stopped when LR 5 was released on June 9th 2013. No further updates for bug fixes and new camera support.
Nada, LR 4 will never support Nikon D750. The Nikon D750 was introduced into the market in September 2014 some 15 months after further development of LR 4 was discontinued.
You can use the Adobe DNG program (free download for the package) to convert the Nef (raw) files from your Nikon D750 to the Adobe DNG format which will permit you to import those into LR 4. This is the crutch provided by Adobe to allow for the processing of raw files with outdated versions of LR and ACR.
You can also update the ACR plugin for PS CS6 to version 8.7 which can also work with the raw files from the D750. For direct support in Lightroom you will need to upgrade (paid) to version 5.7.

  • Confused about conflicting disk guidelines

This is my first time on the forum and I am learning a tremendous amount - thanks everyone.  I am planning a machine with 3 disks and I'm a little confused about apparently conflicting guidellines issued by Harm.  In the "Storage rules for an editing rig", he states in Rule 4 that "If you have OS & programs on disk C:, set your pagefile on another disk".  However, in the "Guidelines  for disk disk storage", he says that, for 3 disks, that the OS, programs and pagefile should be on drive C:    Which is right?  Thanks

You may be somewhat confused, as it appears to be contradictory, but let me try to explain.
The basic rule for a fast disk system is to spread the load across as many disks as you have.
Every disk can access only one location at a time, and if a program requires access to a number of files, it would be great to have all those files on different disks, because then all these files can be accessed in parallel, making it much faster than in a serial way. There are however practical limitations to doing it that way. It does not make sense to organize the location of your clips in such a way that all these clips are on different disks, your potential gains would be far outweighed by the effort to move your clips to different disks. It does not even make sense to allocate a different disk for different tracks, although from a disk performance view it may make a lot of sense.
It has to make sense from a workflow view as well, so you have to compromise and try to follow a 'KISS' approach. As you can see from the Generic Guideline, the allocation of the pagefile can change, depending on the number of disks in the system. The reasoning behind it is to spread the load as much as possible but keep it as simple as possible from an organizational point of view.
Remember, it is only a guideline, not a strict rule. Consider for instance a situation where a lot of stock footage is used in nearly all projects. It makes sense to put all this stock footage on a different disk than your normal clips, if you also add a lot of music to your projects, it makes sense to use a separate disk for your music files, because you spread access load across different disks and still keep it relatively simple to organize. Now, if this does not happen often and only for very limited parts of the timeline, this may not be worth the effort or the dedicated disks. So, the guideline is exactly that and can be influenced by your specific workflow and material. Someone may want to have all his HDV captures on one disk and all his AVCHD imports on another disk and maybe from a third camera on a third disk, thereby improving multicam performance.
Hope this clears it up a bit.

  • VERIZON WIRELESS PLAN CHANGES, CONTRACTS, UPGRADES - Lack of Customer Service!

I have been 1 of your customers since August of 2006.
I even own a 2nd phone line that I have been using since approximately 2002
Most recently I had inquired with Verizon Customer service about upgrading my cell phone from a BlackBerry to a Droid Maxx (for one of my accounts)
My first inquiry was with a Verizon Rep on the Verizon Online Chat on February 16, 2014.  I told her that I wanted to upgrade my cell phone from a BlackBerry to a Droid Maxx, and I inquired about my Unlimited Data Plan. She said I would “not” lose my Unlimited Data Plan even if I upgraded to a Droid Maxx.  I also asked about a Hot Spot, and she said that would be “included in my Unlimited Data Plan” at no extra charge.
I called Verizon 611 later that same evening and talked live with a Verizon Rep, again asking and confirming the answers to the same questions.  I also asked about “throttling” if I went beyond a certain usage on my data plan, if I upgraded to a new cell phone.  He told me that I would not be limited to certain speeds and bandwidth, no matter how much I used my cell phone since Verizon does not throttle their customers’ data speeds (since Verizon had received so many complaints in the past for throttling,  so they do not do that anymore).  He also said there would “not be an issue with upgrading to a new cell phone and keeping my current data plan.
A few days later, as I looked further into upgrading my device, and trying to make a final decision, I again called Verizon 611 – Customer Service.  But this time the Verizon Rep that I talked to contradicted the other two Verizon Reps info because he told me that I would “lose my unlimited data plan” if I switched to a new cell phone.  He also said if I made any changes to my plan, I would lose my Unlimited Data.  He said there would also be an additional charge for a Hot Spot.  I asked about bringing on a 2nd person to my plan, and keeping Unlimited Data on one of the phones, while having a 2nd data plan package for the other phone for the additional person. He told me the Unlimited Data Plan would only apply to the Original phone on this account and the original phone number.  But if I added a 2nd person/phone to my account they would “not” have Unlimited Data since the new (2nd phone) was not grand-fathered in to this current plan that I had with Verizon.
Finally I decided to go in person to visit a Verizon Store.  When I went into the Verizon Store at Jantzen Beach, North Portland, Oregon, the Rep I talked to said she had been with Verizon for almost 8 years. She said all of the info that the other “3” Verizon Reps had given me was “not” accurate.  At this time, I learned that “ANY/ALL changes to my plans would immediately make me lose my Unlimited Data Plan.  And the ONLY way I could keep this plan, would be to buy my own cell phone (at full Retail cost) and have it added to my account.  And that if I tried to add a Hot Spot, it would cost additional money outside of my data plan.  Also if I tried to add a 2nd person/cell phone to my existing account that I would immediately lose the Unlimited Data Plan.  I was not allowed to change my cell phone#, add any additional user or cell phone, or upgrade my device without losing my Unlimited Data.  She also said maybe I was told something different by the 611 Customer Service Reps because they have authority to make changes or exceptions to plans, and that normal Verizon Store employees do not have authority to make the same changes.
My complaint and question to Verizon is…..WHY do all “4” Verizon Reps have different explanations, advice, rules, etc…when it comes to something as simple as upgrading to a new device and wanting to keep my current plan?  To me, the rules and explanations should not vary day to day, and depending upon who I talk to?
I was originally an AT&T Customer prior to 2006 and I switched to Verizon.  This is my first real experience with HORRIBLE customer service and deception from Verizon!
IF I had made any changes when I initially or immediately after I inquired via the Online Chat, I would have LOST my current data plan!  And then to tell me that I need to go out & buy my OWN phone at FULL Retail price If I want to keep a plan that I’ve had for years now!!!
How much money have I already paid to Verizon in Monthly usage charges since 2006 (for almost 8 years now)??? And you want to reward me for this loyalty and being a Long time customer by cheating me out of my current plan, or trying to deceive me with false promises that I won’t lose the plan?  And then when I finally do want to upgrade, you will take that plan from me? And even after being a customer for 8 years with one account and almost 12 years with my 2nd Verizon account (that I listed at the beginning of this letter), you won’t even offer to give me a free device or a discounted device for renewing my plan?  NOW I need to buy my own phone if I want to continue on with my current data plan?
None of this makes sense, and I have now been told “4” different versions of rules, exceptions and Plan change policies by 4 different Verizon Reps!  They ALL work for the same company --- Verizon Wireless --- so they should ALL have the same answers and rules, right?  I really feel nobody is being honest & upfront with me about this, and I am seriously considering moving back to AT&T Wireless.  As at this point, Verizon wants to do nothing to reward me for being a long-time customer.  I’m beginning to feel that the goal here is to deceive me and cheat me out of my Unlimited Data plan.
What can you do to make this right?  I know you must have record of the Online Chat and also you record 611 Customer Service calls too? How can you explain why all “4” of your Reps have different rules and explanations for Verizon phone plans?
If I do not receive an acceptable response to this letter, you can count on me moving back to AT &T Wireless.  I will also tell all of my Friends & Family that are currently with Verizon about this negative experience.  In the past I have encouraged others to move to Verizon Wireless, but now I no longer feel that is good advice for anyone.
My boyfriend who “almost considered” switching his service to Verizon, is now seriously considering the integrity of Verizon.  He works in Information Technology with large corporations and will also pass this story on to his business associates.
I look forward to your response and explanation.  I feel that after my long term loyalty as a Verizon Customer, I deserve much better treatment and honest answers from Verizon.

    cheralin333 wrote:
I find this all very interesting that the 3 responses I got to this post are ALL defending Verizon jacking around a long time customer.  I would almost venture to guess that Verizon hires people (probably in India & Pakistan) to read their forums and defend whatever they do to their customers.  How do I become the bad person for wanting good customer service? How are they in the right for trying to be deceitful.  None of their Reps had the "same story or info."   NOW I have 3 responses from "supposed PEERS" or other customers in the Verizon Community.  But instead of rallying with me as a customer all 3 are posting comments like they "work for Verizon."   And even Ann's response contained info that I already had in my original post.  And this last post from pherson knocks me for not being loyal?? I have been loyal for over a decade but why would I kiss up to anyone that is trying to make me take it in the shorts???  I'm convinced you are all making minimum wage from Verizon to read their forums and defend their ridiculous practices.  Go find a real job.
No one is "defending" Verizon. We are telling you that
    A) No one from Verizon corporate will see you post
    B) Even if they did they are not going to change policy because 1 customer or a few or 1000 or 10,000 threaten to leave.
So there is no point to your rant. It was waste of time. The people you intended it for aren't going to see or care. Also the FCC, FTC, BBB, etc etc are also a waste of time. The only thing you can do that you have power over is to speak with your wallet and go elsewhere. That would be FAR more productive than what you've done here. I still don't get how people think that because they made a post on a messageboard they can change things. Like people haven't been complaining about this for literally the last 620 days. How's that worked out so far?
Oh and I SHOULD report your post that is full of insults. Next one I WILL. How is that for a threat?

  • Problems with Plan Change - Needs Immediate Result

    Hello,
I have been a long time Verizon Wireless customer.  I have two lines, one of which was assigned to a tablet with a 1gb plan.  I maintained this line for the upgrade since my other line has unlimited data.  I recently upgraded to the Note 3, and in the process was told that I'd have to establish a new line to accomplish the upgrade.  The representative, from Costco, let me know that it shouldn't be a problem transferring the same plan to the newly established line and not to worry about anything going wrong.  That night I called Verizon for the first time and worked with a customer service representative who ended up making the problem worse by canceling the tablet line before transferringthe device to the new line.  This caused a problem with my sim card, and I have to request a new one because my old was was constantly showing an "aging" status.  Even a few days later.  The first night consisted of two phone calls to Verizon because the rep mentioned above ended up disconnecting me trying to get over to tech support.  The second rep was much more helpful, but wasn't able to do anything and let me know I'd have to work with tech support, but should wait until the next day to allow the sim to "age."
The next day was the 4th of July, so I called back the next day and went through a similar process, spent about 30 minutes with one rep, only to be told my sim was still "ageing" and to talk to tech support.  Every time I was connected with tech support it was a minimum 30 minute wait, just to be told that there was nothing they could do, again, and they sent me a new sim card.  When i received that sim, at which point it was the following week, I called back and activated my tablet successfully.  Hung the phone up and thought all was well, until I saw my balance due the next day.  It was nearly double what I usually pay.  The representative never informed me that it would default to a prorated amount based on that payment, of 4gb.  None of which I need.  I called back, again, and was told that I wasn't able to use the old plan I had since it didn't exist anymore.  This time the representative was very pleasant, and let me know she'd put a request in to see if the old plan would be possible, given my situation.  I was alright with that, and this was the first time I wasn't frustrated after hanging up the phone.
She called me back yesterday letting me know that Verizon isn't willing to allow me to use my old plan, and that there is a new plan options, that is 10 dollars a month.  Honestly that was all right, so I called in today to change it to that plan and have it backdated to the date of upgrade to fix my billing issue.  During the process of looking up my information, the representative I spoke with today disconnected me.  Over the last week and a half I have spent nearly 3-4 hours on the phone with Verizon just trying to fix this issue that was not anything I could have controlled.
The rep at Costco told me I'd have no issues transferring my lien to the new line we opened that day, and the first individual I spoke with on the phone canceled the line too early and further delayed the process by requiring me to request a new SIM card for the tablet.  After being disconnected this time, I'm extremely frustrated with the entire situation and Verizon in general.  I've been a customer of Verizon for nearly ten years, and for the fist time I am considering moving to another carrier seeing.  In that ten year period, I have probably called into customer service less than 5 times.  And in the last week and a half I have made more calls, and spent far more time on the phone than every before.
The bottom line is, I need to have the plan changed on my tablet line to something comparable to what I had previously, which was a 20 dollar, 1gb plan with the 10 dollar tablet fee.  I need this taken care of ASAP and I need to know it's being done correctly.  If Verizon is going to partner with companies like Costco to provide phones to members, and increase their customer base, than these reps need to be better equipped to handle the upgrade process.  And it seems that the call centers I have spoken with are a 50/50 shot in terms of reaching someone who is able to do their job effectively and in a timely fashion.
I hope to be contacted with a resolution by today or I will be returning the phone, and looking elsewhere for my wireless needs.
    Thank you.
    Josh

There is an "undocumented" parameter you need to include in your
page. It MUST be a hidden field value called "p_action". The
form hidden value is either "OK" or "CANCEL" (case sensitive).
Thus, when the form is submitted, this parameter states to
commit the changes. Useful if you have a "Save" button and
    a "Cancel" button.

  • Getting iphone, Questions about Family Plan. NEED HELP!

So right  now I am on a family plan with my Dad and mother and we all have old phones that are basic basic. Our family plan has no Data plan at all, and in fact the plan is so old that it does not exist anymore. However I am moving away soon and I want to upgrade to an iphone. My question is this, If I upgrade, will I have to get my own plan? Or will I be able to just upgrade my phone and add the data charges just to my phone without making my parents upgrade their phones as well?
Any help will be awesome. I don't want to go into the store and talk to a sales person because they are motivated by commission so it would be in their best interest to upgrade all or them. So if I can go in there educated about the specifics of upgrading it would help.
    Thanks!!

Thanks to our forum member for the great information!
In addition, please note that you will most likely be able to keep your current calling plan when you upgrade your line to an iPhone 4; however, if the iPhone 4 is not compatible with your current calling plan you will be notified when you process your order online if you login to your My Verizon account and you will be presented with your new calling plan options.
If your calling plan is compatible with the iPhone 4, you will be able to simple upgrade to the iPhone 4 device and add the data plan to your line. This does not affect your parents calling plan in any way. You can also separate your line from the family calling plan and have an individual calling plan for your line and have your parents lines stay with their family share plan.
If you do not feel comfortable ordering your upgrade phone online or at a store, you can also order your upgrade from the comfort of your home if you dial 1-800-922-0204 to contact our customer service department.

  • I'm new and confused about "connection" things

I'm new to BlackBerry--I have an 8320 Curve, I'm a small business owner and I'm not connected to a BES. I use the BB Desktop Manager to synchronize with Outlook and to back up my BB and I've done pretty well on most things, but I still have a few things I'm confused about. In this forum, I'll ask my "confusion questions" concerning data options.
I have a "pay as you go" data plan with AT&T, my provider, because there is virtually no cell reception at my home where I also work. (I'm not using my BB for email since I'm in front of my computer most of the time). I have a home network set up and I've incorporated a router that supports wireless. I've connected a netbook to the wireless network and used it to surf the Internet, so, I know my wireless connection works. I've also managed to create a wireless connection on my BB to this network and on the Home screen, it will display my wireless network's name when I'm here at home, so, I know the device is connected to my network.
BUT, I don't think I'm actually using my home wireless network...I tried the other day by browsing the Internet and then AT&T told me I incurred data charges--which I thought I shouldn't have if I wasn't using their network. Either I'm wrong about assuming they won't charge me if I use my network or I have something set up incorrectly on my BB...can anyone provide some guidance?
Next, I don't truly understand what BIS is...I searched through the KB and couldn't find anything that actually defines BIS...could somebody please explain what BIS is?
Finally, can somebody please explain the difference between "mobile network" and "wi-fi"? It seems, if I turn off "mobile network" I have no connection at all, including wi-fi. Is that the way things should be? But, I can turn off wi-fi and still get a connection (if I go outside as far from my house as possible and face south <g>).
Thanks...and now I'm off to the BB Desktop Manager forum to ask a few questions there!
    Solved!

Hi and Welcome to the forums!
I can help you with one or two of your questions:

BIS is Blackberry Internet Service...a service, hosted by your carrier, that provides a conduit between internet facing email systems (e.g., Yahoo, GMail, etc.) and your BB. Inside of BIS, you create conduits for each of your email providers that you desire to receive OTA email for on your BB. BIS will check your provider on a periodic basis (documented to be every 15 minutes) and only when there is something that needs to come to your BB does it generate any traffic over the carrier network with your BB. BIS is an add-service, only available to those who, from their carrier, contract for The Blackberry Data Plan (as it is usually called) -- a generic data plan is not usually adequate to have access to BIS.

Mobile Network is your carriers network...data and/or voice services provided OTA for your BB. WiFi is wireless networking (802.11a/b/g/n) through your home WAP, hotspots, etc. I don't know if turning off Mobile Networ should or should not affect your ability to continue to use WiFi...I would think they are separate, but I don't have a BB model with WiFi.
I know nothing about the pay-as-you-go programs, but from all you describe, it seems that you may well be using your carrier network at times. You will need to find out (and there are others here who know) how to shut off your carrier network yet leave WiFi running so that you don't incurr the costs of surfing via the carrier network.
    Hope that helps a little!

    Hello,
Niranjan here from Mumbai. i am currently working as Lead member, Business development in engineering company for past 4+ years. Prior i have completed my BE from Mumbai university & MBA in supply change management.
Now i am planning to have a shift to SAP. But confused about any specific module.
On doing some ground work, found SD module of my use, but not sure about it.
Also found CRM of my use on discussion with some of those working on field.
    Totally confused. ...
    Plz pour in your suggestions.
    thanks in advance.
    Niranjan Watve

    Hi Niranjan,
As for my opinion, SAP CRM Sales exactly suits to you.  However, you have done Supply Chain Management you can also opt for SAP SD as well.
But give a preference to SAP CRM Sales Instead of SAP SD.

The reason for tossing so much money into this machine is no im not rich we or shall I say I am avrage I have a good job and still live with my parants so I have no utility bills to pay except insurance for my car every month but other then that I can save up quickley if I manage my money the right way hehe. anyways the scredriver sliped and broke off a micro transister and I was like oh crap and could had cryed for damaging my babie but I belive it was time to move on and that is why it hapened when it did hehe..
but I called tigerdirect to get back on to the subject and told them what I was confused about and magell was his name I believe and he said yes it was a 3.00Ghz and the HT was what made it clock like a 3.06Ghz processor. • Confused about the 'cpu fsb clock frequency' setting, etc., in cell in bios

just got a new k8n neo2-f nforce3 board with an a64 3500+ venice chip.  It is properly recognized in the bios and windows as an a64 3500+ at 2.2ghz, but I'm confused about the cell menu settings in the bios. I see a 'cpu fsb clock frequency' which was automatically set at 200mhz, but the fsb runs at 1Ghz (1000mhz), so what is the 'fsb clock frequency' if not equal to the cpu fsb?  Is 200 the correct setting for that?  Should I need to change any of the other settings in here?  I wonder, because my 3dmark03 score only went up 200 points from the same system with a AthlonXP 2500+ chip and kt4avl mobo, which seems like a low increase to me.....

I would set that to Manual in BIOS, so that you can incremently increase the CPU speed without causing a sudden crash. Each system is different and operates within the specs of not only the CPU, but system memory and PCI-E add-ins as well. Your video card is the primary driver behgind your 3DMark scores...but you haven't listed that?!

  • Confused about calling an American mobile that is ...

My son is currently in Korea and he has Skpe on his mobile phone so he can call us. I would like to call him but I am confused about how to go about this without getting huge international fees. Do i need to have a plan or do I call the number that comes through on my phone using the Skype app? If I need a plan which one do I get? His phone is an American mobile but is physically in another country, does this matter at all? Obviously I have no idea how this works so any input anyone has would be wonderful! Thanks!!!

  • I am confused about something.  How do I read a book on my MacBook Pro?  I can't find the iBook app anywhere, which is what I use on my iPad.  The book I want to read is in my iTunes but I can't click on it.  My iBook library does not show up in iTunes.

I am confused about something.  How do I read a book on my MacBook Pro?  I can't find the iBook app anywhere, which is what I use on my iPad.  The book I want to read is in my iTunes but I can't click on it.  Some of my iBooks show up in my iTunes but they are "grayed" out.  The only books that respond in iTunes are audiobooks and that's not what I'm looking for.  Is this a stupid question?

Nevermind - I answered my own question, which is I CAN"T READ ANY BOOKS I purchased in iBooks on my MacBook Pro.  If I want to read on my mac I have to use Kindle or Nook.  Which means any book I've already purchased through iBooks has to be read on my iPad.  Kind of a drag because there are times when it's more convenient for me to read while I'm sitting with my Mac.

  • Confused about transaction, checkpoint, normal recovery.

After reading the documentation pdf, I start getting confused about it's description.
Rephrased from the paragraph on the transaction pdf:
"When database records are created, modified, or deleted, the modifications are represented in the BTree's leaf nodes. Beyond leaf node changes, database record modifications can also cause changes to other BTree nodes and structures"
"if your writes are transaction-protected, then every time a transaction is committed the leaf nodes(and only leaf nodes) modified by that transaction are written to JE logfiles on disk."
"Normal recovery, then is the process of recreating the entire BTree from the information available in the leaf nodes."
According to the above description, I have following concerns:
    1. if I open a new environment and db, insert/modify/delete several million records, and without reopen the environment, then normal recovery is not run. That means, so far, the BTree is not complete? Will that affact the query efficiency? Or even worse, will that output incorrect results?
    2. if my above thinking is correct, then every time I finish commiting transactions, I need to let the checkpoint to run in order to recreate the whole BTree. If my above thinking is not correct, then, that means that, I don't need to care about anything, just call transaction.commit(), or db.sync(), and let je to care about all the details.(I hope this is true :>)
    michael.

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/TransactionGettingStarted/chkpoint.html
Checkpoints are normally performed by the checkpointer background thread, which is always running. Like all background threads, it is managed using the je.properties file. Currently, the only checkpointer property that you may want to manage is je.checkpointer.bytesInterval. This property identifies how much JE's log files can grow before a checkpoint is run. Its value is specified in bytes. Decreasing this value causes the checkpointer thread to run checkpoints more frequently. This will improve the time that it takes to run recovery, but it also increases the system resources (notably, I/O) required by JE.
