If she can't remember the ID/password, she will need to go to https://iforgot.apple.com to recover it/reset the password or she will have to call Apple and speak to someone in account security.

I think you're slightly misunderstanding something, so maybe I'll try to chime in, even though everyone has said it in various ways.
Before OSX 10.7 (aka Lion) came out, the upgrades to OSX belonged to the Mac and not the user. Probably there was a technical legality in the user agreement that you couldn't do that, but everyone did. I could sell a Mac with Snow Leopard (or anything before that) by just erasing the hard drive, and reinstalling OSX. Then ship it to the buyer. Now, I was pretty honest as a seller, and including not only the original installation discs but also any upgrade. I would only sell a Mac if I was replacing it, so I always was getting the brand new version.
With OSX 10.7, upgrading was done online, with no disks. So the upgrades were tied to an Apple ID rather than the machine. Recently, I sold a MacBook Pro (to upgrade to a 27" iMac), which came with Lion. I had promised the buyer that it would come with Mountain Lion, but I didn't know that the upgrade was tied to my Apple ID. I made good with the buyer by sending along a $20 Apple App Store card so that she could upgrade to Lion.
So what everyone is saying here is that you need the original Installation discs or Snow Leopard disk to reinstall and wipe out the Mountain Lion that is on your Mac. It doesn't belong to you, it belongs to the seller, and without his Apple ID and password, you cannot use it. Once you do a reinstall of Snow Leopard, then you can upgrade to Lion and then to Mountain Lion. I do not believe you can upgrade directly to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard, but I'm not sure.
If the seller claimed that you were getting Mountain Lion, then he was lying to you (or being more civil, maybe he just didn't know like I did). If you bought the used machine from Amazon Sellers or from eBay, then you have recourse through the feedback system or through PayPal. If you bought it any other way, you're on your own. -

If you do not remember your old id's password, go to iforgot.apple.com and see if you can remember or reinstate it. Without it you cannot reactivate your iPhone.

Your visa card is a credit card, not debit card? Do you meet the requirements as below, interpreted strictly?

When setting up me new iphone - it is asking me for an iCloud password for an email address that doesnt belong to me - it is asking this info in order to retreive previously purchased items on itunes, etc. Help?
These are a couple different issues
The purchase issue means they came from a different Apple ID
You will need that Apple ID and password for those purchases
The iCloud account can be an Find My iPhone issue.
That could be the same Apple ID as the purchased or yet another one.
Once again you will need that Apple ID and password. -

I am attempting to convert 8mm video cassettes to dvd using a video cassette player, elgato video capture with rca/usb connections to the mac then editing in imovie and burning dvd-r using idvd. The picture quality is awful. What can I do??????
At what point is the video quality bad? Is it bad on capture? I would recommend using an s-video 1394 firewire converter instead. They capture the video at a higher bit rate. If you have a lot of 8mm tapes to capture, invest in a stand alone DVD recorder. They capture and compress in one shot. If you need to rip it back from the DVD into iMovie again, I would recommend using DVDxDV.

I see that there is a place now on itunes but its wanting to synch with either outlook, google or yahoo and I just want to put my contacts from my phone into a back up. Can this be done or do I need to get the moblie me in order save them?You have not transferred photos from your iPhone to your computer for the past two years?
I guess these were not important photos, then. Because if they were, you would take proper precautions.

I want to do it from icloud and when I type in my apple id and password, then I agree to terms, Then it asks me to sign into tunes and gives me a random email (Iwatts30@yahoo) and asks me for the password... which obviously i dont have. The phone is asking for a password, or the backup is asking for a password?
If it's the backup, then it's whatever password was set up for that data backup.
If it's the phone passcode lock, then you need to restore the phone first. -

or how do i atleast find out what to type there?Check with your company or email provider for the server. If you use a webmail, the server is also hidden sometimes in the advanced options. Are you using Outlook Web Access or some other email service that you use with the outlook application?
