Image Crop

Hi,
Can anybody help me to implement an image crop application.
Thank and Regards,

use masking or the bitmapdata class.  masking is easier.

  • Image cropping before uploading an image

    Hi all,
I am using webcenter spaces 11.1.1.8.6. I have a requirement where i need an option to crop a image before uploading it. For example before a logged in user uploads his image he should be able to crop only a certain part of the image and upload it. How do i achieve this

Well, I never tried it.But you can use some jquery plugin for this. There is no support out of the box,
    try using jcrop

  • Why is my raw image cropped when I reopen it?

why is my raw image cropped when I reopen it?

When you edit a RAW file, any changes you made are stored in a Sidecar file with the same file name, but with a .xmp extension.  If you find and delete that sidecar file, then the RAW file will open uncropped.  But, you only have to select the Crop tool in ACR, and the crop window with handles will appear, so you can change the crop.   Or having sellected the crop tool in ACR, the escape key wil cause your image to revert to full size.

  • Flash Component: Image - crop, resize, rotate zoom in/out

Hi, We've got a photo contest and we need an image
manipulation tool that will allow users to import image, crop,
move, resize, roate and zoom in/out to align their photo within a
frame for example. Any one know of a component like this? I would
appreciate and advice or links to other sites.
    Thanks in advance.
    Dan

Don't know what you want to do...
Resize the actual image file? If so, PSA SE can't really do that.
Just look at an image at different magnifications? Select image, F11 for full screen, then use CTRL/+ and CTRL/- to adjust.

  • Illustrator to Photoshop to DVDSP. Image cropped?

I have created graphics for a DVDSP menu in Illustrator. I think I need to export to Photoshop to divide into layers for different button states and then import into DVDSP. When I export a 720 x 480 image from Illustrator to Photoshop it is cropped, in some cases quite severely, down to almost the outside edges of the graphic elements in the image. Could anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong and if what I am doing is really necessary to get the file into DVDSP for use as a menu. I'm quite new to this and may be misunderstanding the manual
    TIA

    Michael:
I select the objects in Illustrator, Copy them and Paste in PSD canvas . . . nothing special! But you can learn something about graphic files dimensions and solve the issues. These instructions are straight from DVDSP User Manual Chapter 2 Square Pixels in Graphics:
    ==============================================
Graphics programs use square pixels. If you set the dimensions of a graphic to 720 x 480 pixels (the NTSC frame size), you will notice that the drawing area of the graphic in the graphics program is not a 4:3 aspect ratio (it is a bit short). If you set a graphic to PAL dimensions (720 x 576 pixels), the drawing area you see in your graphics program is taller than 4:3.
Anything you put in the graphic will be distorted (either vertically stretched or
compressed, depending on your video standard) when viewed on a video monitor. If you draw a square, it will look like a rectangle. In some cases, the distortion is not great enough to worry about, but in most cases you should build your graphics with the distortion in mind.
To compensate for pixel differences between graphics and video, you need to build the graphics at one size, and then rescale them to the appropriate video dimensions, ...
    ==============================================
Working in Illustrator or Photoshop, you must start with a rectangle size of 720x534 and do all your design work in such dimension. Finally resize your file to 720x480 and import that resized file into DVDSP. Your graphics will look fine !!
If you prefer make your design in Illustrator, start creating a rectangle of 720x534. Select it and go to menu Object > Crope Area > Make. Make your design inside that area and finally make Export > Photoshop 72 dpi.
Open that file in Photoshop and do the resize.
When you became confortable with all these programs you'll find out your best workflow.
    Hope it helps !

  • Why is the image cropped?

Perhaps I haven't noticed this before...
Because of emminent system failure, I purchased a new PC with Windows7 (upgrade (?) from Windows XP) and then upgraded Photoshop to CS5 from CS3.  However, I notice that when I rotate a "landscape image" and make it a "portrait", I find that the image appears to be cropped automatically, rather than retain the aspect ratio of the "lanscape image"; it appears that the former height in the landscape, becomes the new height in the portrait .  I think it has something to do with the aspect ratio, as manipulating this seems to alleviate the symptom somewhat. It also appears to be present in the other image viewers that are not Adobe.  Can anyone explain this and direct me to information on how to correct this problem?

How are you doing this, exactly?
You need to rotate your entire image document.
Try this:  Choose Image - Image Rotation - 90 Degrees Counterclockwise (or the appropriate choice).  What do you see?

  • Mirror and Extended Desktop - Panasonic 42" 720 image cropped

I have my 15.4 macbook pro connected to a Panasonic 42" 720 HDTV via the mini displayport. In both mirror and extended desktop mode, the Panasonic image is cropped off on all four sides. I fooled around with all the resolution settings and nothing changes.
No matter what I do, the menu bar and dock get cropped off by a few pixels. How can I fix this?
    thanks

Right, your TV is overscanning. That's very common. Overscan has been part of what TVs have done for decades.
If your TV is meant to be compatible with computer output, there should be a way to set the screen size using the TV's remote and/or menu system so that computer output just fills the screen. So check you TV's user manual about making a connection to a PC for information about how to get rid of overscan on the TV.

  • What is the BUG FIX for automatic image crop done to all imported Raw files on the 5DIII? I need to be able to get back to the original size image without doing it manually thousands of times using the plug in, that's a huge waste of time.

all you can recommend is an unsupported plug in that forces me to reset each image manually? Can't images be altered in a batched way, or all at once, back to original without having to do them manually one at a time?!!! Time to change software? What is the official line on this problem please?

    Images unexpectedly cropped
Yes, this is the official line and it is old news.  It is either that or BREAK everyone else's images who shot a Canon 5D-MKIII and didn't crop in-camera.

  • Why is image crop width limited to 200?

    Hi,
    I imported an image into Motion 5 - it's a logo (301x65).
I want to crop the entire image except the graphic in the left-hand corner, so I can animate it.
But the width crop stops at 200 & won't go any further. So it's not possible.
Why wouldn't the crop simply extend to 100%, so this would never happen?
This seems like a pointless limitation, which leads me to think I've done something wrong.

You can use the numeric value to the right of the slider to go to any value above 200.  Click and drag the numeric value  or  click it to type in some thing exact. There are many(but not all)  parameters in Motion that work this way, they slider has one set of values, but you can go beyond these by using the numeric value to adjust.

  • Problem in diaporama (images cropped)

    Hi,
I have a problem when I am looking at pictures in the Photos app.
I have a folder full of images that are about 600x850 (ranging from 600x848 to 600x863).
The problem is that the images that have a height of 850 and below fit the screen and have a black stripe above and under the image (which is good), but the images that have a height over 850 are cropped on the right and left sides to fit the screen completely (so there is no black stripe under and above).
In other words, the image with a height of 850 and below fit the screen with their width, and the other images fit the screen with their height.
If you are familiar with windows wallpaper, it is like if for the first category of image the option "Fit" was active and for the second category the option "Fill" was active.
Is their an option to have all images behave like the first category (850 and under).
    Thank you

Where is the scaling done? In the ListCellRenderer? Regardless of where that is being done, I assume you are caching the scaled images after you scale them, right? If not, consider adding some sort of caching.
    This should do the trick...
Rework your ListCellRenderer to check to see if a scaled version of the image is available. If not, start a thread to do the scaling and create an ImageIcon. In the meantime, while that thread is running, have the renderer return some sort of stock icon, like a little generic image icon. When the scaling thread completes, make a call to repaint() on the JList so the cell renderer gets re-asked for the icons. This time around, the renderer should notice that a scaled version (the ImageIcon) is available. Return that. So, this method doesn't guarantee that the images will be produced in order, 1...2...3..., but it will return images as they become available, and the overall JList rendering won't wait until all 100 are ready. If you want them returned in order, just do all of the scaling in a single thread and queue up the images to be scaled, in order.
I hoped this helps. (If it does, please throw me some Duke Dollars.)

  • Why is the image cropped in landscape mode

Hi - I made video from a collation of youtube clips and transcoded it to iPad default settings in FCPX but when I view it on iPad the image along with the subtitles are cropped in landscape mode, why is that when the transcode settings list iPad 3 as included. How, or what do I need to do to fix this problem please.

The iPad display is 2048x1536 pixels which is 4x3 aspect ratio. When you display a 1280x720 video which is 16x9 aspect ratio you will get bars at top and bottom of the iPad screen. Any attempt to fill the screen by scaling etc will cause you to lose part of the frame edges. You have not stated what your project properties were in FCP. If they were 1920x1080 or 1280x720 then you might try an SD project ie 4x3 and see what sharing does for that. I haven't tried it but I suspect it will be 4x3 and fill your iPad screen. The issue may be the aspect ratio of your youtube clips. If they are wide screen which I suspect then you would see the bars in FCP storyline and your are back to the same issue when you export. You could in this case use the transform tools etc in FCP to fill the screen and pan the clips to not lose subtitles. It's a fiddling process. Hope this clarifies a bit.

  • Still image crop and resolution

    Dear All,
I'm creating an H264 1280 x 720 video for Google Maps that incorporates still images and 1280x720 HD video.  I've always used 96 dpi for image resolution in the past when I cropped images for standard 720 x 640 video and they looked good.  If I crop my still images in Photoshop to 1260 x 720 at 96 dpi, jpeg, will that give me a good still image in the final product?  I know that the dpi really doesn't matter unless we're talking about print, but I want to start with a good image resolution.  There are many things to learn about all of the new formats!  Thanks.
    Small Town Gal

    Hi SMG,
As Ann said, forget DPI for video, has absolutely no bearing on things. For a 1280x720 video, optimum still size is 1280x720 pixels. If you want to do any zooming/panning to animate the still, then of course a higher resolution will be beneficial.
    Thanks

  • Slideshow Image Crop Problem

Problem creating a slideshow in iDVD 6.0.
I added a white border to each of the image files that I wish to use in my slideshow. However, when I try to preview the slideshow, some of the images do not show the full border, very often cropping the bottom border completely. I've tried reducing the size of the images, but this doesn't solve the problem. I've also selected and deselected the "Always Scale Slides to TV Safe Area" but the problem remains. Very often, images with identical aspect ratios will show/not show the border correctly. Any input or solutions would be appreciated.
    Thanks...
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

To expect every photo to conform to a ratio of 4:3 would be unrealistic.
Sorry, but that is the way iDVD works!
'Standard' TV (and iDVD is designed to produce TV content) uses a 4:3 aspect ratio. (With iDVD 6, you may also create a 16:9 project.)

  • Illustrator, Really? Fast Image Crop

    Hi guys,
I decided to start this post with "Really?" like a SNL sketch...hehe. I have been using Illustrator for quite a while but i am not expert with it. One feature that really bothers me is that i can't really fast crop an image unless i draw a rectangle on top and then apply a crop mask. Why so many steps? Some might say illustrator is for vector and if you want image and text editing go to Photoshop or InDesign. I don't agree with that. I use it for a fast presentation and friends that just started to use it last week tell me "Why i cannot crop an image fast?"
So is there any way to fast cropping an image in the CS5 Illustrator that i might not be aware? I might consider an external plugin or script...but again paying for bottle water is always a rip off. That should be a internal feature long time ago, even Corel Draw has it.
    Thanks and cheers,
    S.-

we're all regular users here and we're trying to help...maybe if your choice of words would have been "is there a way to make a clipping mask in Illustrator faster than the way Indesing does it?" then the answer would have been "no", end of story...
I don't understand your quest for speed, usually working with illustrator is not associated with churning out the most artwork per minute as humanly possible, but who knows, you might have a legitimate reason for shaving off micro seconds of an operation, otherwise you wouldn't be asking.
but now that we know what you need, being, a quick way to apply a clipping mask and a quick way to modify such clipping mask, I think this is the best Illustrator can offer, based on what others have said above
    - right after placing your image, hit Ctrl+7, no need to draw a rectangle, or if it is already placed, select it and hit Ctrl+7 or as Monika said push the "Mask" button on the Control Panel.
    - to modify the mask A La Indesign, with your masked image unselected, grab the Direct Selection Tool (A), click on the Mask (not on the image), and grab the Selection Tool (V) (or hit V on your keyboard) to get the bounding box. At this point you can  modify the mask exactly the way you do it in indesign.
man, if that's not fast enough for you, then, are you racing with your coworkers? maybe try bugging Adobe with a feature request pronto.
