Image display - How do I display an image using an absolute path?

How do I display an image using an absolute path in a compiled WebHelp?
Our developers use RH8 map IDs within our in-house applications to display in a model window created using Telerik Rad Window.
Unfortunately images disappear from these model windows because RoboHelp removes absolute links to [inserted] images and changes them to relative in the compiled WebHelp.
How do we overcome this? Is there a solution in RH8?

I have tried again and changed the path in the topic HTML
from : ..\..\HelpTopics\Icon_Search.png
to    :  \HowDoI\Help_CMS\WebHelp\HelpTopics\Icon_Search.png
I am obviously unable to see it in RH8 as I have removed the relative link so it is "outside" of the project.
This time, on compilation, it has not stripped out the absolute links. The developer was working with me on this last week and we did have any issue in that they did not hold the absolute link. Most odd!
Checking the published help it appears to be working in the application, which is great.
So my apologies for raising the issue but it really did not work last week.

  • I created a signature ID and customized the signature; however, when I go to sign it only shows the name layout or graphic image? How do I go back to using the certificate?

    Dear Forum
I was using Adobe version XI and the signature feature disappeared from the menu. Now I downloaded Acrobat Reader DC. Using the menu and instructions I created a signature ID and customized the signature; however, when I go to sign a document it only shows the name layout or graphic image? How do I go back to using the certificate that I created?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How can I find files renamed using mv file/path/folder .filename

So I was a complete idiot and was messing around with the terminal. I was trying to figure out how to hide folders from other people who would have access to my account. Instead of creating a useless text file within a new folder, I just tried it on one of my own personal folders. The folder itself contained about two months worth of work, and I have no clue why I did it. But I did, and now I cannot find it for anything. This is what I did:
    mv /users/azuredavid/documents/Q1/ .filename
However when I tried to access this via the Go To folder option, it wouldn't work. I used the exact path as above as well as variations using a period. Eventually I resorted to using:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
    killall Finder
Now all I see is the addition of .DS_Store and .localized files in the folder. Still no work folder. I've seen conflicting reports of what exactly is the correct command for the defaults write command. I've used the one above as well as a few others, like AppleShowAllFiles YES, bool true, etc. Is there any way to get those files back?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Look for it directly inside your home folder, or try using the Terminal's find command to locate files with the names of items in that folder.
    2. The syntax used is one of the correct ones for that command.

  • How do you find a filechooser file's absolute path ?

    Hi everyone,
I'm a little confused. I'm using a filechooser in my GUI to get two files. I then pass their names to another class where I am attempting to read them. When I choose testfile1 from C:\My Documents And Settings\ Danielle \ My Documents \ testfile1.txt, and pass it's name to the other class, the call: file1.getAbsolutePath() returns the path C:\projects\testfile1.txt. (Obviously I've assigned the String file1 to testfile1.txt).
I'm running into problems because of this-- according to FileReader, my testfile1.txt doesn't exist (unsurprising- Java isn't looking in the right place).
So, how do I get the filechooser to pass the correct absolute path so that FileReader has something to work with?
    Thanks,
    Danielle

getSelectedFile returns a File object. The File object contains methods to get the fully-qualified path (getAbsolutePath() I believe). Presumably you are invoking some other method (getName() I assume) which returns the file name only, and so you have thrown away that valuable piece of information.

How do I reverse a scanned image?

Image>Rotate, then probably flip horizontal. It depends on just how you want to reverse it.

  • How to open a video in a JMF without using its absolute path?

I locking a media file during decryption and I have to pass on the same filestream object to the player to play the video, but so far I have only seem only how to play the video after providing the URL or the path.
I want an alternate method please.

To play a video from a filestream, you'd need to write a custom DataSource that will deliver the file data to JMF... which is going to be a pretty complicated project.

  • How to provide drill option dynamically using Preferred Drill Path?

    Hi,
I have three dimensions viz., JE_Category, Transactions and Receipts.
How can I drill to Tansactions or Receipts based on the value selected by the user from JE_Category.
I tried Preferred Drill Path concept by adding Trx_Number from Transactions and Receipt_Number from Receipts.
But it is taking only one path and getting error when I select the other one in JE_Category..
Any other way to implement this concept or please guide me if it is possible with Preferred Drill Path..
    Thanks in Advance

It is possible to use the Preferred Drill Path only in Dimension (hierarchy). Then only we can drill down to other dimension hierarchy(i.e., feature of Preferred Drill Path).
My problem is how to drill down to the other dimension when I have multiple dimesions available..
I think u got my problem..

This is probably happening because you have made a copy of the VI without changing the name/ location on the disc. I have saved a copy of the VI for you, it is in LabVIEW 2010 SP1, please ask if you want this in a previous version.

Don't use resource as stream if you have an absolute path, use FileInputStream.

    Hi,
Can you display what code you used for this? I followed note 172045.1 and everything compiles properly but when I run the report, I just get a box with a red X in it, like it is not finding the picture. I ran the procedure that downloads the image and it works fine from there. Thanks.

  • Re: How can I post an image?

Merging the hints, how does this look?
Showing an image in Apple Discussions requires two things.
    1. The image has to exist and be accessible from a working server somewhere.
    2. Then the image can be referenced in html and will appear in your post.
    1. To achieve the first you need to register on one of the many free web photo hosting sites. An example of one would be Flicker. (If you have your own web site you can of course host your picture there.)
Having taken a snapshot of the thing in question (the image), perhaps by using the Grab application on your Mac, you upload the image to your photo hosting site.
You'll then need to get its URL from the site. It might be easy to see or you might have to read the site's FAQ for those details, as there are differences between sites.
Easier still, if you are using Safari or Firefox right clicking (or Control click with a one button mouse) on the uploaded image will copy the link for you.
It will have a form like this:
    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/24541163585b68ff68b8s.jpg
When you find it, open a new tab in your browser and paste it into it, to check that it displays and is therefore the correct URL for the image.
    2. To add this image to your post here on Apple Discussions, place an exclamation point before and after the link, illustrated as,
    !http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/24541163585b68ff68b8s.jpg&#033;
which produces the image in the post.
    An alternate html format is;
    <img src="http://source.address.of.image.jpg"/>

  • How do I place an image over the header?

I am new to web design and new to Dreamweaver CS4.  I have used 2 column template with header and footer.  I have got a header title (an image) but I want to place an image to the left of it in the top left corner of the web page.  I want the header region to be the height of the title as I want the image to have a greater height than the header area.  When I insert the image it goes into the header region and the header automatically increases its height to fit the image.  How can I overlay the image on the header rather than inserting it in the header?  Any help would be appreciated.

Designing web pages is nothing like designing for print.   To achieve what you want , you'll either need to create a special header image in Photoshop or Fireworks that contains white space and/or slices from surrounding images.  Insert this new image into your header region.
Or, you could simply place image in the background using CSS.  Then align your message text using CSS floats and margins.  See demo below for an example.

  • How do you write an image threshold to a file

Hi, I use IMAQ threshold to threshold an RGB image. How do I write this image to a file? Whenever I use the IMAQ Write JPG or Write PNG vI and try to view the file with the windows image viewer all I see is a black image. Does anyone know how to save a binary image?

If you cast it to an eight bit image and save it as a BMP or JPEG does it show up correctly? If so the problem probably lies in the fact that a 16-bit image in LabVIEW is signed, while third party viewers usually assume that it is unsigned. So rather than pixel values going from -32766 to 32767, they go from 0 to 65536. There are example programs on ni.com to get around this. One is called "Mapping a 16-bit Image to an 8-bit Image," another is called "Bit Shift an IMAQ Vision 12-bit Image and Resave for External Viewer." If you search for these titles on the ni.com search bar, you should be able to find them.

  • How can BufferedImage convert to  Image?

I want to use a BufferedImage to create a new ImageIcon, as ImageIcon(Image img), How to convert it to image without creating a new Image.
    Thanks.

In other works, a BuffedImage is an Image.
Kinda like a Ford is a Car. Of course, not necessarily that any Car is a Ford, neither is any Image necessarily a BufferedImage. But a BufferedImage is always an Image.
