Image instead of Java

Hi Folks,
Im hoping that one of you guys can give me a bit of help on a project im doing. I have created a HTML page which at the moment simply consists of an image (logo.gif) which when rolled over animates with a water ripple effect.
Its a java applet !
The problem im having (or may have) is that some people may have java disabled in there browser prefs.
I was wandering is there some script i can enter in the HTML page to say "if java is disabled then display this alternative image instead" ?????
If anyone can offer me any help id much appreciate it !

you can insert html code into applet tag
this code is used by browsers if the applet can't be launched

I have a mind that is it possible embed image file into java code?
That mean an image file information already store in java code, thus no need using the image file in run-time. Then can prevent user change other image file instead.
Do anyone try before, are there technologies required?

technologies? The solution you are asking for is all about storing your data in static variables such as byte[][] used to build your image instance. I guess you should have a look at the different constructors of BufferedImage.

Wrong Out while Cropping image using different java version

Hi,
my task is to crop the image based on x,y,w,h coordinates, but thing is i am getting different cropped images while using java 1.6 and java 1.7.
in java 1.6 the x and y coordinates starting from 0,0 instead of given values.
please find the code below:

I m working on an image processing project and I want to know how JAVA supports image processing. Does it have proper API's for image handling and etc... And also about the performance, as JAVA would be slow for high processing jobs.
Any suggestions as to wat should be the best platform for working on it.

I don't get a fluent blending( the transparant 'checkboard layer' merge with the images instead) of the images i like to blend

I like to fluently blend in more images , When i use the gradient tool and hold down the shift key to draw a line , i see no fluent transition of the two images, instead part of image fades into a tranpanrant ' check board' layer instead.
What goes wrong here?

Yes, I understand it's not always easy to grasp to what goes on on the other side.
I already tried the above though nothing seemed to work
I had to use the paint brush as well but in reverse setting to get the desired result. If I dont use paint brush the checkboard appears thus it wont merg/ blend the images.

PDF of a blueprint comes up as a whole image instead of individual lines. I have tried tracing it and that does not pull out the individual lines also, stays a one image only. how do I get just the individual lines?

Several pdfs worked perfectly during my testing before going this route. it wasn't until later that I found some files have this issue. I can not find what the difference is between files that work and files that don't. Ones that work come up as individual lines right away, ones that don't are one solid image.
As Jacob mentioned in post #7, the file in question is a scanned (raster) image of an old drawing which may not even exist in vectors ('individual lines,' as it were) anymore, if it ever had. You can't make assumptions based on the fact that a file is in PDF format. A PDF can contain all raster image data, all vector data, and/or a mix of both.

I use Apex 4.0.2 and the theme is Builder Blue 2. When I click edit tab, I get "Tab Label" that is required field and a region called "images". As I got from you, I cannot utilize images in my case.

Helvetica Light Appears As An Image Instead Of Text

Earlier i was using "Helvetica" on my Adobe Muse website that i am designing. I had to change it from "Helvetica" to "Helvetica Light" and the text started to show as an image instead of text. I mean it does not remain text anymore and when i export the site it shows as a png file. Although i can still edit the text of course.
I have seen a question on the forum (HERE) that explains what is happening but there is no explanation how to correct it. I really want to use Helvetica Light instead of normal Helvetica. Can any one tell me how to keep it as a text instead of a png file?

Not all visitors to your website will have Helvetica Light installed on their computer, so the only way for Muse to give that exact look is to turn the text into an image.
If you want the text to stay live text and not become an image, you have to limit yourself to the fonts in the 'web safe' or 'web fonts' categories. If you use a system font, Muse will rasterize the text to give you the exact appearance you desire.

The problem is, how do you package your private key with the application in a way that doesn't allow the user to get it? Encrypt it? :-) I agree that there's no point to this exercize. If users want to screw up the application by editing its image files, let 'em.

Accesing image files in java beans

I am developing an application which needs to access images files put in image folder in java bean file.
I tried a lot by using different methods and failed always, except in case of absolute path which I dont want to use.
My directory structure is as below

/MyApp
index.html
myjsp.jsp

img1.png
/WEB-INF
/classes
/beans
GraphBean.java
In GraphBean.java I have the code

imageIcon = new ImageIcon("../image/img1.PNG");Cureently the path is worng and the image cant be displayed.
I want to know what path I should give to get the image img1.png.

The disk file system knows nothing about the application which is asking for the file. You should always use absolute file system paths. In this case you can use ServletContext#getRealPath() to convert a relative web URL to an absolute filesystem path. Then use this in ImageIcon.
