Image Publishing to ISA for Product catalog

Hi Guys,
I have to attach an image to each product and publish it to ISA using TREX.
I have created products and product catalog, I have published all products to ISA application also, But i dont know how to do the same with image.
Can someone tell me the required steps that needs to follow up.

Regarding the distribution of the product catalog, there are 2 parts :
- The product catalog (structure, texts, ...) is replicated to the index server. The settings for replication are done via SRMO.
- The catalog may also contain multimedia objects such as images, sound files... Those data are replicated to a specific folder of the web server. To replicate and publish these datas, you must define HTTP and FTP settings.
following transactions are used for replication / publication :
- initial replication : comm_pcat_ims_init
- update replication : comm_pcat_ims_upda
report com_pcat_imsd_cp_show gives you all changes taken into account in update replication
- single replication : comm_pcat_ims_single
replication logs are found in transaction SLG1.
Pay attention to the fact that the documents are language dependant.

"list / grid view" and "sort by" for product catalogs

Hi Everyone,
Is there any progress to either have more layouts in our BC system for Catalogs, etc...
or the Liquid Layout is being developed and I should use that on a real site?
Customers keep asking for these basic E-commerce functions:
- toggle between list view / grid view when viewing product catalogs;
- sort by function for product catalogs;
How should I achieve this???

Hello,
There is no single RFC that can help you reproduce the Web Channel catalog features. The catalog module works in tandem with TREX for search and display of catalog items with attributes and mime objects. Lot of thought and resources have been input to get the catalog as it is now.
So, I would suggest you start calling your requirement to Display Product List instead of calling catalog. The reason is simple.The moment you have that list, you will start getting requests / requirements to add more features - such as, nice display with tree structure, search capability, ability to integrate with cart, product details, etc, etc. - quickly leading to a situation where the catalog in its current form is the solution.
Anyway, try the function modules in the following function groups.
CRM_ISALES_PRDCAT - is you want to read the catalog structure as maintained in the CRM system (no product details in catalog). You have to go to product master to get the product / attribute details. No search capabilities. No tree (area / sub area) hierarchies in display.
SRAD, SRA1 - If you want to mess around reading the TREX indexes and get the information. No tree (area / sub area) hierarchies in display.
By the way, you can still use the catalog only in the ISA - by just modifying the B2C application -flow_ and removing all the cart related features. Easier said than done. but still, I think that this exercise will be lot easier than developing a new catalog with no features
If the purpose is to export the catalog to an external display entity, you can try the transaction COMM_PCAT_EXPORT.

Best approach to creating a TOC for product catalog using data merge

What is the best approach for creating a TOC for a product catalog (over 1,000 items) using Data Merge?
The TOC would contain the product Categories.
So for example, Category A items could go from pages 1 - 3, and Category B items would start at pg 4, but if new items were added to Category A, then Category B may start from pg 6.
From the Data Source, there are 5 Data Fields I've chosen to be displayed. If this were a regular digital print document, I could use the Paragraph Style method for creating a TOC, but if I make any one of the Data Fields a certain Paragraph Style and use that for the TOC, it'll populate the TOC with that Data Field for all the items.
Any suggestions?

Steps to follow while extending a catalog (specifically for product catalog)?

I want to add some new properties to the products, to determine there type based on that i want to display different options on the product details page.
Can you please tell me how to extend the product catalog and what are the steps involved in it?

Since u have not specified ATG version.
Go to ProductCatalog Repository in dyn/admin and see the definition file.ProductCatalog.xml is used for standard catalog and CustomCatalog.xml is used for custom catalog.
Extend that xml using configuration layering.

B2B. Limitation for product catalog area

Does product catalog has limitations?
Can i use any number levels for catalog area ?

I haven't seen an explicit limit. But I am guessing that it goes something like this:
The total sum of all the categories and sub-categories in all levels is not greater than 10,000.
Say if we have only two main categories, then we can go 5000 level deep in each main category (no more than one sub category at each level). Or if we have 5000 main categories, then we can go just one more level deeper at each category). In both the cases, the total categories + sub-categories is 10,000.
So, in theory we can have as many combination as you can imagine with in these limits.
More often, the limiting factor is the usability rather than the number of sub-categories.

A custom pricing procedure to be used for product catalog via IPC

I have an existing custom pricing procedure zcustom on the order document in ECC system which needs to be used on the catalog pricing. In simple words customer specific pricing is to be viewed by dealers in the Product Catalog.
I have also gone through the PricingUserExit Manual and have understanding on the basics.Please give me steps that I can follow to get a solution for this scenario.

The attached document 'Pricing_in_SAP_ECO.pdf' describes how pricing is done in your case. I think chapter 1.1.1.2 refers to the situation you describe, it tells how the pricing procedure is found and which attributes are available. Other attributes have to be added via customer exits.

I need to prevent showing some products in E-commerce Catalog depending on the PPR settings. Does the PPR type for Catalog Views help me? can any one explain me what is significance of drop-down "Application" in the PPR type configuration.

We are using PPR ( CRM Listings in Filtering products from ISA ). There is no standard way to make the products not displayed in catalog based on listing. We call a Z function module to after the user login to the Ecommerce Application and get the allowed products list and then use that to filter-out the products from the catalog page. ( This might not be a gr8 approach but .. this is exactly your requirement, and also we don't have a huge catalog so listing data in session is small for us.)

Maintainence of views for product catalog

Hi Everyone,
I have a requirement where i need to assign products to views. For Ex. If i have 10 products and 2views...The views wil be available when i run a transaction. If i click on any one of the views it wil take me to a screen where we can see all the products, among them some products have their check box's enabled assigned to that view. I get the data in the form of a excel sheet or in a text file where the text file has products and its related view. Once i run the program using the text file the products are not getting assigned to their respective views.
I have used the FM 'COM_PCAT_VIEW_MAINTAIN_O'..but in vain.I dont know whether i have passed the parameters in the right way. Can someone explain how to pass the parameters?
Are there any FM's other than that?

I have two questions..
1: I am looking for a BADI, on comm_pcat_adm, tcode to maintain prod catalogs in CRM.
Can u tell me the badi name , triggers when we hit display/change/copy/delete catalogs ??
2. Basically i wanted to restrict users to display/change/create/delete the catalogs depending on a custom table entry. .
If no entry available, then wanted to throw an error message.

ISA Product Catalog Images Problem

Hi,
I am having problems displaying the images in the ISA B2b product catalog. I have already set the image in CRM and replicated the product catalog. But the images still wont display in the product catalog. It displays an x inside a box. And the path does not exist.
Please help. Is there a guide that you can send me on how to do this? Please send it to [email protected] Or please just give suggestions on how to do it.

Images don't display in B2B using the port. You have to view via CRMWEB if you want to see the images.

Text table for long text of product catalog area and product description

I'm a new comer in CRM, what my current job is to do the translation for CRM system and its portal, e.g. webshop. Now I met some questions as below, Could you please give me some advices?
1. Long text for product catalog area (t-code: COMM_PCAT_ADM; Product Catalog: PCSHOP)
I found a table named STXL(STXD SAPscript text file lines), maybe, it is related to the long text(product catalog area), but I can not get anything from the field CLUSTD of the table STXL as its data type is RAW. Maybe, there is a text table in CRM to store these long text information, but I dont know, Could you please give me some ideas?
2. Long text for product description (t-code: COMM_PCAT_ADM; Product Catalog: PCSHOP)
I found a table named COMM_CFGLNGTXT(Long Texts for Different Objects), I can find some long texts(product description) in this table, but some others, I can not find them. I dont know why? Maybe it is not a correct text table. Could you please give me some advices?

Implement the BADI DOC_PERSONALIZE_BCS and use method PERSONALIZE_DOCUMENT. In this method therz an parameter FLT_VAL, this can be used to derive the description.

Create a product catalog from flat fiile

Hello All,
I have a requirement to create a product catalog from a flat file. Basic requirement is to add products under product catalog. Further requirement can be extended to add views and add images to product catalog.
I want to know steps or function modules which will be used in order to achieve basic requirement first and then extended requirement.
Any sample example explaining the same will be more useful.

By uploading images to a Product Catalog, the program below will also add the item to the catalog area specified.
SE38 - Run Program COM_PCAT_MASS_DOC_IMPORT
It has it's own Program Information to explain how it works.
Here's the first portion of the that information:

Mass Import of Multimedia Documents for Product Catalogs
Purpose
This report enables you to automatically import multimedia documents that are already available in a file system and assign these documents to product catalog items. The items are identified using a product number. An item is created if a corresponding one is not available.
A simple text file, which can be created using the normal spreadsheet programs or simple text editors, is used as a basis for the import.
We have used this in the past, but it has some performance issues, so experiment to be sure you don't try to upload too many images at once...it can bog down after a few batches and begin crawling.
