Image reference vs image "value" to pass over

I have an issue  (or so I believe) with image references or pointers as I prefer to call them.
Majority of the functions use the reference and it is fine for efficiency, however...
I have two fast parallel loops working on an image. The first one, once it is done with the image, it passes it to the next loop and itself gets another image etc. The problem with this situation I have is that the second loop gets the reference and in the mean time the first one is changing the value of the image since it is working with the same reference. At least I assume it is what is happening.
The only real solution to this problem would be (imho) to pass a copy of the image (a vale instead of a pointer) to the second loop. This way each one is working on its own chunk of memory. Using queues seem reasonable to me here. The problem is I do not see a quite clear way to get to the so called value of the image instead of a pointer. I was thinking about using "Flatten to Image" and passing it over to the next loop. Is there a better way to deliver a "value" copy of the image?
Also the architecture of two loops must be kept the way it is. Do I have a more brilliant way of having two loops working in parallel and then passing over image data? Thanks a lot.

This is my version of the image ring buffer. I briefly tested it and it seems to work. If not please let me know. If you know how to improve it, please post. Thanks

  • Read the signal value that pass over the upper and lower limit..

    how to create the system which can read the signal value that pass the lower and upper limit? i've try but the system only read the value that in range of upper and lower limit..thanks..

    Im not very sure if this system can read the value that pass over the limit..because at the save file data so many value(i will attach that file)..and i dont know how to setting to get the failure values only..
    Actually i want to build some system that can read and save value that pass over the limit..i take the signal from simulation sine signal..no hardware required..
    im very new with this software and im in learning process..
    A very big thanks to all that helping me..

    I would like to edit a still image so that I can float it over the video - How would I save the image in Photoshop so that just the image and not the background can be imported into Final Cut and the footage behind it still shows up?
    Thanks

    You need to either create an Alpha channel or cut out the area of interest and paste it into a transparent Photoshop document. You can save the former as PSD, TIFF or PNG. Save the latter as TIFF with transparency enabled (shows up in TIFF Options at step 2 of the save dialog).

  • Problem loading images from a return value of a function

    hello, I write because I uin problem in loading images from a return value of a function.
    I created a database with a field "image" of type string, where I put the physical address of the image. I have written like this: {__DIR__ }foto.jpg
    Place the code, so you understand better
    function imageViewImage(): javafx.scene.image.Image {
    connetti();
    lass.forName(driverName);
    con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,user,"");
    stmt = con.createStatement();
    var richiesta:String = "SELECT image from viaggio WHERE id_viaggio=7";
    rs1 = stmt.executeQuery(richiesta);
    var result :String;
    rs1.next();
    risultato = rs1.getString("image");
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, result);
    var imagez = Image{
    url:"{result}";
    return imagez;
    The image is in the source code package
    First I connect to the database, run the query and I take the contents of the image.
    Can anyone help me?
    Is right to put in the database {__DIR__} foto.jpg or do I put only foto.jpg?

    Hello unkus_nob,
    I would rather suggest you to save only filename of that image like "foto.jpg" in database. And just concat it with the String variable containing "{__DIR__}".
    Actually the javafx compiler converts the {__DIR__} to the existing class directory path something like : "jar:file:/..../".
    var currentDir ="{__DIR__}";
    risultato = "{currentDir}{rs1.getString("immagine"})";
    var image = Image{
        url:risultato
    return image;--NARAYAN G.

  • The value should be set for Base image URL and Image file directory

    Hi experts
    Now customer has the following issue.
    XML Publisher concurrent request, using RTF layout template with LOGO, does not generate the LOGO for Excel output.
    but in output formats PDF, it is shown normally.
    from the debug log, we can found the following error message
    ======
    [051812_054716051][][ERROR] Could not create an image. Set html-image-dir and html-image-base-uri correctly.
    ======
    so I tell the customer to do the following action plan.
    1. in XML Publisher Administrator resp > Administration expand the HTML Output section.
    2a. enter a value for 'Base image URI'
    2b. enter a value for 'Image file directory'
    Customer set the value as following and retest this issue,but he found the issue is not solved.
    Base image URI: /u01/r12/ebssnd/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes/oracle/apps/media/XXSLI_SONY_LIFE_LOGO.gif
    Image file directory: /u01/r12/ebssnd/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes/oracle/apps/media
    I verified 'Base image URI' and 'Image file directory' settings:
    1) Change output type to HTML.
    2) Click the Preview.
    but the image is correctly displayed on HTML, so I think the issue is caused by user's uncorrectly setting of the base image URL and/or image file directory
    but could anyone give me some advice on which value should be set for Base image URL and Image file directory
    Regards
    shuangfei

    First thing to do is to edit the post and use some tags to format the code as it is unreadable and too much!
    Read the FAQ (https://forums.oracle.com/forums/help.jspa) to find out how to do this.
    Next we need to know the jdev version you are using!
    As the code is generated I would first try to generate it again after the db change.

  • Static references to images

    Adobe RoboHelp 7 creates static references for images I
    import into my webhelp pages. Aside from manually converting the
    references to relative references, how can I get RH7 to correctly
    reference my images?

    Hi there
    I'm not sure what's up with your version of RoboHelp 7. Maybe
    it's how you are inserting images? I've never known RoboHelp to
    ever really create absolute references to images. It has always
    been quite adept at creating relative references.
    Are you absolutely certain absolute references are being
    created? I ask, because when you initially select an image by
    browsing to it, the reference may look like an absolute reference
    until you click OK to commit the information to the page. If you
    examine the properties later, the image has been copied to the
    project and bears a relative path.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Creating and connecting images to indicate tag values

    I am trying to create a simplified version of our plant layout on my front panel using images from the image navigator. I would like to create, for example, a rectangle and have it shown green when my discrete tag value is 1 and red when my tag value is 0. I know how to code this for LEDs, however the images I lay down on the front panel do not give me the same options. (and I can’t find a simple rectangle on the image navigator??)
    If anyone has any experience using this tool, I would like to know the steps involved from dragging an image on to the front panel to coding an image in the way described above.
    Thanks for the help,
    Stuart

    As the previous post mentions, search for threads on "customizing controls", there have been a number of those. Unfortunately, what you are describing, available in most of the SCADA packages (Intellution, Wonderware, etc.) isn't available in LabVIEW. To do it requires opening a boolean indicator (LED, etc.) in the control editor and then pasting in the appropriate images, doable, but a lot of work to get good looking, controllable images.

  • How to reference background image url from css?

    Hello,
    I have uploaded some images and css files to the "Shared Components > Images".
    How can I reference my images as "background-image:url('XXX.gif')" for a css element?
    Thanks,

    To make what Tyler said explicit: APEX doesn't perform recursive (or indeed any) substitution on static files, Re: Use uploaded images in uploaded CSS, so images in static files can't be referenced using #APPLICATION_IMAGES# or #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# in style sheets that are themselves static files. The Re: Help with STATIC HTML file reference another STATIC HTML/CSS file..

  • Get image Scroll bar position value

    How to get an image component scrollbar position value in flex.
    I have an image component in my application, when i scroll the horizontal scrollbar
    i need the current scrolled position. How to get the scrolled position in an image component.
    Kindly help in this issue.
    Rajkumar.

    Are you sure you want to use setOnScroll to listen to scroll events rather than set the value of the scroll bar position via the tableView.scrollTo api (which I would recommend) or the scrollBar.setValue() api?
    for (Node n: table.lookupAll(".scroll-bar")) {
      if (n instanceof ScrollBar) {
        ScrollBar bar = (ScrollBar) n;
        System.out.println(bar.getOrientation() + ": range " + bar.getMin() + " => " + bar.getMax() + ", value " + bar.getValue());
          if (bar.getOrientation().equals(Orientation.VERTICAL)) {
          bar.setValue(0.5);
    }If you did really, really want to use setOnScroll, then you could do something like this:
    Node flow = table.lookup("VirtualFlow");
    if (flow != null) {
      final EventHandler<? super ScrollEvent> originalScrollHandler = flow.getOnScroll();
      flow.setOnScroll(new EventHandler<ScrollEvent>() {
        @Override public void handle(ScrollEvent event) {
          System.out.println(event);
          originalScrollHandler.handle(event);
    }  Though you would be better off just using an eventfilter rather than using the strange lookup and setOnScroll chaining method in the above code.
    table.addEventFilter(ScrollEvent.ANY, new EventHandler<ScrollEvent>() {
      @Override public void handle(ScrollEvent event) {
        System.out.println(event);
        // uncomment if you don't want the default table scroll events processing to take effect.
        //event.consume();
    });

  • Does Java Pass by Reference or by Value?

    I'm confused about this, please explain
    thanx

    Ok new to programming them don't listen to people who say that everything is passed by value, it's just some terminology debate that you don't need to care about at first.
    Here are some examples from which you can try to figure out:
    Example 1, the primitives:
    public class TestPrimitive
        public static void main(String[] args)
            int value = 5;
            foo(value);
            System.out.println(value);
        public static void foo(int value)
            value = 3;
            System.out.println(value);
    }The output will be:
    3
    5
    showing that the variable "value" was passed by value and therefore was not modified in the calling code by the alteration in the foo method.
    Example 2, the arrays:
    public class TestArray
        public static void main(String[] args)
            int[] array = new int[2];
            array[0] = 0;
            array[1] = 1;
            foo(array);
            System.out.println(String.valueOf(array[0]) + " " + array[1]);
        public static void foo(int[] array)
            array[0] = 3;
            array[1] = 4;
            System.out.println(String.valueOf(array[0]) + " " + array[1]);
    }The output will be:
    3 4
    3 4
    This mean that change to the array content get reflected in the calling code
    Example 3, the arrays part 2:
    public class TestArray
        public static void main(String[] args)
            int[] array = new int[2];
            array[0] = 0;
            array[1] = 1;
            foo(array);
            System.out.println(String.valueOf(array[0]) + " " + array[1]);
        public static void foo(int[] array)
            array = new int[2];
            array[0] = 3;
            array[1] = 4;
            System.out.println(String.valueOf(array[0]) + " " + array[1]);
    }The output will be:
    3 4
    0 1
    Here is why people say everything is passed by value in Java, because if you make the array variable in the foo method to point on a new array, the one in the calling block continue to point on the old one, which is why it keep its [0,1} value.
    Object work exactly like arrays.
    Clear enough?

  • How to reference an image which is inside of ArrayList?

    Hi,
    I have an item renderer which displays an image.
    When image is loaded from file I'm just using this : <mx:Image source="...
    But how to to reffer the image data (png images) which are inside of  ArrayList ?
    Thanks!

    Taking a guess here:
    <mx:Image source="{myList.getItemAt(3)}">
    Or
    <mx:Image id="someImage">
    then in ActionScript:
    someImage.source = myList.getItemAt(3);

  • Dropdown list to change image field linked image?

    Hello,
    I am quite new in Designer but I have to complete a job and I don't find the solution.
    I try to update on a form an image field using the value of a dropdown box and a "if" script.
    I use linked images (not embedded ones) and try using a script calling the image Field. value. image. href  property.
    The property is well updated as export to xml displays well the new href value but the image is not displayed as something was missing to activate it.
    form1.#subform[0].ImageField1::calculate - (FormCalc, client)
    if (UN_DropDownList == "3373") then ImageField1.value.image.href = ".\Images\UN3373.png"
    endif
    Rather simple (don't laugh at it) but it doesn't work.
    I found solutions for embedded images via visible/hidden by dropdown list (not yet tested) as these ones. I give them below for reference (if some other users are interested)
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/683215
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2187604
    http://acrobat.timhuff.net/?p=5
    But not for linked images (path or URL). By the way, I found same problem descriptions in other forums but without any proposed solution.
    As I should have quite a lot of images with frequent updates, it seems to me a better solutions...
    Thanks in advance for you help.
    Kind regards
    Philippe

    Hi Philippe,
    Have a look at this blog, http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2009/11/linked_vs_embedded_template_im.html, it turns out that both linked and embedded images are stored in the PDF but just in different ways. So updating the href at run time will have no effect.
    If you are not in a possition to store all the images in the PDF at design time then you might have to look at setting up a webservice to access them on a server.
    Good luck
    Bruce

  • Show Default Image when actual Image is not available

    Hi,
    The Customer is using BI Publisher to generate a Report with the Inventory Item Details. This report also shows an Image of the Item. These Image files are stored in a different server.
    We are able to dynamically show the Image based on the Item Numbers using the URL{} tag.
    We are facing an issue when there is an Item when there exists an Item with no corresponding Image File. The PDF is generated without any image. In such cases, the requirement is need to display a Default Image showing "NO IMAGE".
    During XML Extraction, we do not know whether the Image file is available in the server.
    How do we handle this specific requirement.
    Any assistance is highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Balachander.

    Having raised a service request with Oracle, it would seem that this is not possible -
    "Unfortunately, In the BIP core, there is no functionality to test that a file ( containing an image ) exists or not ."
    The problem I have is that the URL referencing the image is concatenated and includes the XML item for a reference number. That reference number, and therefore the XML item, is always available but the image that corresponds to it is not - so I can't test for a null or false return because BI Publisher does not recognise the concatenated string of the url as having a returned value.
    This would be a problem if the layout options in Word were more flexible (better) - being able to add an image to the background of a table or cell would have solved my problem but, sadly, that is not possible in the version of Word I'm using (2003). I'm not sure whether it's possible in newer versions though?
