Image URL String Mungled by Gateway.

I am creating dynamic GDI based images (Charts) that are called thusly: img src = "http://remoteserver/chartimage.aspx?projectid=1234". When I run the page through the Gateway the image src is munged by the portal to something like : "https://ourservernamehere/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_1279_1454_305_0_43/http%3B/remoteserver/chartimage.aspx?projectid=1234". This causes the image to be displayed as a red X. Is there anyway to tell the Gateway not to Munge this URL?
Thanks

------- Brad Styve wrote on 9/15/04 6:48 AM -------Doesn't this cause a problem if you wish to see the image if you don't have access to the gadget server where the image is located. I have experienced this same issue. Images will not gateway properly from a gadget server. If I follow the advice given here and my gadget server is on the inside of my firewall I will not be able to see the image in an extranet situation. Plumtree's gateway did not have a problem with images in version 4.0. But the gateway in Plumtree 5.x appears to not handle images well. Any better thoughts than fooling the gateway to not gateway an image I want gatewayed?

    An empty loop to wait for something is to avoid in all languages! At worst, put a sleep call in the loop. But a better idiom for JavaFX would be:
    function ChangeImage(image: Image): Void
        fadeOut.action = function()
            selectedImage = Image
                url: fileURL;
                height: 400, preserveRatio: true
                backgroundLoading: true
            var progress = bind selectedImage.progress on replace
                if (progress == 100)
                    fadeIn.playFromStart();
        fadeOut.playFromStart();
    }(untested)
    First, I create the Image when needed, to start the background loading. Or maybe the loading is very long and you prefer to start earlier, so your version is fine in this case.
    Second, I do what I described, binding to the progress variable of selectedImage, and watching the updates. And when we reach the wanted value, we start the second animation.

    Hi,
    bind the mobile image component URL to a managed bean and have the managed bean. Then use the bean setter to set a new URL string and ensure (when creating the Java class for the managed bean) you have JDeveloper creating the property change event handlers.

  • Custom Image(URL) not showing up in PDF

    Hi,
    We have created a standard webi-report where a company logo is part of the report header.
    We would like to keep the company logo in a database, so we've creáted a simple webapp to retrieve the image from an Oracle database. When we insert the logo into our report we just use the following link as the Image(URL): http://<Servername>/plsqlapp/docs/Company.JPG
    The logo now shows up as expected in the report as long as we view the report through InfoView. However, when we export the report as a PDF document, the logo will vanish.
    If we use boimg://Company.jpg as the Image(URL) instead, it works OK even when exported to a PDF document.
    We would however prefer to keep our images used in reports in a database.

  • "IMAQ image to string" difference in 8.2 and 8.5

    My basic aim is to capture image from one computer and then send to another in LAN using TCP/IP. I have LabVIEW 8.5 and LabVIEW vision 8.5 in one and LabVIEW 8.2 and LabVIEW vision 8.2 in another. I capture an image in the computer whear I have installed 8.2 version of both and then flattened using " IMAQ image to string" and then sent it to computer using TCP/IP to computer with 8.5 version but the image is not displayed whearas when i do send that from 8.5 to 8.2 ( Capture the image in the computer with 8.2 and then flatten it to string and send it to the computer with 8.5 and display) , it works. Is it beacuse of different version of LabVIEW vision?

    Hi aman_bajra,
    You should be able to pass the image from one computer to another using TCP/IP, even if the computers have different versions of the Vision Development Module installed.  I tested this here and I had no difficulty sending the image from a computer running Vision 8.5 in LabVIEW 8.5 to a computer running Vision 8.2 in LabVIEW 8.2, or vice versa.  FYI, I used the normal Flatten to String node, not the IMAQ Image to String VI.  I have included the VIs I used to do this below.  Please give these a try and reply back if you are still unable to send your image properly.  Thanks.

  • Can anyone tell me how to upload a url to an image onto facebook the way you could with a pc. Recently switched over to Mac and this is one thing I can't seem to figure out. Basically in Windows you could right click on an image, click copy the image url

    I've recently switched over to a Mac and before in Windows on a pc if you wanted to post an image on facebook you would right click the image you found on the post you wanted to share, then click copy url. You'd simply take that url and put it into the facebook post when uploading an image and that's all. Can not seem to find a way to do it now, other than saving the image to the computer and then uploading that which is not what I want to do. I've searched and searched but can't seem to find a solution other then posting in Parallels Window.
    Any suggestions??

    Thanks brody, I had been able to do that but on my business fb page I often post images and put in the links myself in the descriptions. In Windows you're able to post images by simply pasting in the url but on the Mac I'd have to download someone's image which I'm not comfortable doing so I find myself switching back and forth between the Mac and Windows.
    This link explains what I'm trying to do on the Mac probably in a less confusing way than I just did: http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57496509-285/quickly-upload-photos-to-facebo ok-by-pasting-the-image-url/

  • Japanese Characters working as URL parameters, turning to question marks when in URL string itself

    I'm having some trouble getting coldfusion to see japanese
    characters in the URL string.
    To clarify, if I have something like this:
    http://my.domain.com/index.cfm?categorylevel0=Search&categorylevel1=%E3%82%A2%E3%82%B8%E3% 82%A2%E3%83%BB%E3%83%93%E3%82%B8%E3%83%8D%E3%82%B9%E9%96%8B%E7%99%BA
    All of my code works correctly and the server is able to pass
    the japanese characters to the database and retrieve the correct
    data.
    If I have this instead:
    http://my.domain.com/index.cfm/Search/%E3%82%A2%E3%82%B8%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BB%E3%83%93%E3%82% B8%E3%83%8D%E3%82%B9%E9%96%8B%E7%99%BA
    My script (which works fine with English characters) parses
    CGI variables and converts these to the same URL parameters that I
    had in the first URL using a loop and a CFSET url.etc..
    In the first example, looking at the CF debug info shows me
    what I expect to see:
    URL Parameters:
    CATEGORYLEVEL0=Search
    CATEGORYLEVEL1=アジア・ビジネス開発
    In the second example it shows me this:
    URL Parameters:
    CATEGORYLEVEL0=Search
    CATEGORYLEVEL1=???·??????
    Can anyone suggest means for debugging this? I'm not sure if
    this is a CF problem, an IIS problem, a JRUN problem or something
    else altogether that causes it to lose the characters if they are
    in the URL string but NOT as a parameter.

    My suggestion was that you test with the
    first url, not the second. However, I can see a source of
    confusion. I overlooked your delimiter, "/". It should be "?" and
    "=" in this case. With these modifications, we get
    <cfif Len(cgi.query_string) neq 0>
    <cfset i = 1>
    <cfloop list="#cgi.query_string#" delimiters="&"
    index="currentcatname">
    <cfoutput>categorylevel#i# =
    #ListGetAt(currentcatname,2,"=")#</cfoutput><br>
    <cfset i = i + 1>
    </cfloop>
    If it is a failing of Coldfusion, the above test should fail,
    too.
    Now, an adaptation of the same test to your second url.
    <cfset url2 = "
    http://my.domain.com/index.cfm/Search/%E3%82%A2%E3%82%B8%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BB%E3%83%93%E3%82% B8%E3%83%8D%E3%82%B9%E9%96%8B%E7%99%BA">
    <cfset query_str =
    ListGetAt(replacenocase(url2,".cfm/","?"),2,"?")>
    <cfif Len(query_str) neq 0>
    <cfset i = 1>
    <cfloop list="#query_str#" delimiters="/"
    index="currentcatname">
    <cfoutput>categorylevel#i# =
    #currentcatname#</cfoutput><br>
    <cfset i = i + 1>
    </cfloop>

  • [Help Plz]Image URL in PDF

    Hello,
    We have a report to produce using IText API
    Everything is fine in test phase but few days ago we tryied to test the report using the server name ALIAS and we get error :/
    Server returned HTTP error code 503, I search in the net and I found that it's due to a temporary inavailability of the server but It still not working so we tried to find another solution :
    I used the code below :
    //url is the dynamically generated url of the image.
    java.awt.Image awtImg = java.awt.Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().createImage(url);
    //I get error here
    com.lowagie.text.Image image2 = com.lowagie.text.Image.getInstance(awtImg, null);
    document.add(image2);
    but I get the following error : java.awt.Image fetch aborted or errored
    I search in the internet, too many people asking the same question but no one seems to have the answer
    (people facing the same problem say that the problem is due to the fact that we have an url in parameter).
    When I try to access the image on the server using the generated url (copy paste to the browser), it works, I can see the image.
    Any ideas? Any suggestions?
    It's really important.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello Saleem Mohammed,
    Thanks a lot for your reply.
    For the storage of image in database, I'm not sure that we can do that but for using the image from KM, I'll try it on a server which have a unique node.
    When you say "read image from KM", you mean hardcode the KM image url, is that right?
    For the http code error 503, I got it when using the code below :
    com.lowagie.text.Image image = com.lowagie.text.Image.getInstance(url);
    document.add(image);
    The code I've mentionned in my previous post returned the error : java.awt.Image fetch aborted or errored
    Again, thanks a lot for your help.

  • Can I pass variables in the URL string?

    I am trying to get some variables into a loaded swf at
    runtime. The variables will carry information so the swf can load
    the correct xml file. I thought we could pass them through the URL
    string like so:
    new URLRequest("testing.swf?myVar=varOne
    but it just throws an URL cannot be found error. How can I
    get variables into my swf at runtime?

    What you are doing is fine. But you will always get that
    error when testing
    the movie (Ctrl+Enter). Try it in a browser and it should
    work.
    BTW, another way of doing the same is to use a URLVariables
    object, like so:
    var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("testing.swf");
    var vars:URLVariables = new
    URLVariables("myVar=varOne&myVar2=varTwo");
    req.data = vars;

    hi, I tried to use the 'Link File' in the layout model to create a dynamic URL link to image object, then Under the Link File Boilerplate node i did:
    1 Set the Source File Format property to Image URL.
    2 Set the Source Filename property to the URL (http://...)where the image is located with the required protocol.
    then i run the report on the web, the URL shows up within link file box instead of showing the image object. Does any one know how to do that? please help me. Thanks.
