Images being over-written when using MECCM
Hi,
We are using MDM catalog with SRM7.0. We are adding the images in the data manager. We have also added the field image to be displayed in the catalog. But every time we run MECCM, for uploading new data, the images stored for the previously for materials is over-written as blank.
Although the images are visible in the data manager. Kindly help me to resolve this issue.
Thanks,
Bhakti
Hi Masa,
Thanks for your reply. The issue has been resolved. Actually, we had just configured the image setting for one user only. Whereas, we were checking the catalog from another users id.
Now, we have done the settings for "default" user & our issue has been resolved.
Thanks,
Bhakti

Pasted image into gmail disappears when using Safari
Pasted image into gmail disappears when using Safari
I recently upgraded to Mavericks (after having a lot of seemingly unrelated trouble with my Macbook Pro (early 2011))
Since then, when I create a new message in gmail, and paste in a screen shot (captured with command-control-shift-4), the image shows up nicely. But after I hit send, the image disappears. It doesn't show up to the recipient, and when I look at my sent mail, it doesn't show up there either. There's nothing, no icon showing where the image should be, just empty space in the message. This seems to happen in Safari, but seems to works fine when creating the message in Chrome. (please, restrain yourself from telling me "Duh. Use Chrome." I know it's tempting, but my computer has some issues and Chrome doesn't always work.) If I create the same sort of message in Chrome, and then go to Safari gmail, I can see the image just fine. So it appears to be something about keeping the image attached to the content of the message while sending (vs. a viewing problem).
I know when Mavericks was installed, I had to install something in Safari for Adobe docs to show up again. Is there something I need to install so that images will stay attached to the content of gmail messages again?
ThanksAfter you click Download (the attachment) from your Safari menu bar click Window / Downloads.
Right or control click the file in the Downloads window then click: Show in Finder
I'm not sure if you can designate another folder for downloading web based attachments to, however, instead of accessing your Gmail
account using Safari, you can set up the Gmail account from the Mail app on your hard drive. Mail preferences allow you to choose the
folder you want to use for downloaded files.
To add an account:
Choose File > Add Account or click the Add button in the Accounts pane of Mail preferences.
Enter information about the user.Mail searches for the information it needs to finish setting up your account. If it can’t find the information, continue to the next step.
Enter information about the incoming and outgoing mail servers, review the account summary, and then click Create. For information about options, click the Help button (looks like a question mark). If you don’t want the account to be active immediately, deselect the “Take account online” checkbox. You can take the account online later.
If you aren’t sure about the information to enter, contact your email service provider before you begin. When you talk with your provider, you can use the Mail settings “cheat sheet” available using the link below to record settings you might need to set up an account. If you’re switching from another application to Mail, use the cheat sheet to record information for each account you want to switch. -
Time zones being re-written when files are processed from refernced files
I'm having a problem where photos with time zones set are being re-written automatically to whatever time zone my mac is currently set at when Aperture processes them for viewing regardless of the time zone they were set to. This happens as the photos load for viewing (i.e. not on the browser thumbnail view). It does this one at a time and eats up processing time. This seems to only happen (I think) for referenced files stored on my external drive and not those stored in the Aperture library. If I re-set the photos back to the proper time zones using Batch Change, it still happens next time it has to load the photo into memory, again "processing" and again the time zone reset to whatever time zone I'm now in.
Here's the exact situation:
- I've imported several photosets from a Canon 50D. The camera was set to the time zone of the country in question. Let's use India at GMT +5:30 as an example.
- When I import the photos, I also use the time zone presets, setting both the Camera Time and the Actual Time to GMT +5:30.
- I'm importing the photos as referenced files, storing them on an external hard drive.
- So when I first view the photos, the time and date show correct. Again using a real example IMG_0001 shows the date 6/10/10 1:43:31 PM GMT +05:30.
- Now I close Aperture and re-open.
- I open the folder and view the photo. The "loading" message appears at the time and the "processing" message appears on the bottom. (and during this unnecessary processing, it is very slow flipping to the next photo, a serious annoyance in browsing).
- After processing, the photo IMG_0001 now shows the date as 6/10/10 1:43:31 PM GMT +03:00 (the time zone I'm currently in and the one my Mac is currently set to)
- If I close it again and re-set my Mac to say I'm in London at GMT, and re-open, the photo is re-set instead to GMT.
- I can re-set all the dates to the proper time zone using the Batch Change where I again set both the Camera Time and Actual Time to the correct time zone. But when the photo re-loads, it again re-processes and goes back to the date of the Mac. So changes don't seem to stick.
- This appears to happen only to files that are referenced and stored on my external drive, not those stored in the Aperture library.
Has anyone had this problem? Is it a bug or some hidden setting I'm missing? Is there some way to tell Aperture "don't change the dates, ever, unless I do it via batch change"? The problem turns into a major inconvenience in reviewing and editing photos with it taking the extra processing time every photo and messing around the order.maybe you try this question also in the dedicated Adobe Illustrator Forum, not many inhere (including me) have much experience with Illustrator nor live trace I'm afraid.

Plist file over written when Lync 2011 for MAC starts
Hi I’m running into a very frustrating issue where the plist file is overwritten when Lync starts,
Trying this - to get Lync working with
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj945442(v=office.14).aspx
It can be done on Windows....
Ive Quit the Lync app from the task bar menu, Force quit from the apple menu, forced quit from Activity Monitor.
I’m using PlistEdit Pro. I have selected Save and then quit, reopened the plist to confirm changes are saved – yes.
launch lync and files/changes are over written……
Any suggestions?
Cheers
MikeFirst, delete the following folders:
Users/Home Folder/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.Lync
Users/Home Folder/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Microsoft Lync History
Then, delete any corrupted or cached certificates. To do this, follow these steps:
Open the Keychain Access certificate management utility. To do this, in Finder, click
Applications, click Utilities, and then click
Keychain Access. Or, search for Keychain Access by using Spotlight.
In the left pane, click login, and then click Certificates.
In the right pane, find a certificate that's named Unknown or
Communications Server, select it, and then delete it.
Note You may have to unlock your keychain by using your password.
Close Keychain Access.
Restart Lync for Mac.
Important Before you perform the next step, try reproduce the issue by using a new test user account. If the issue doesn't repeat in the new account, then follow these steps:
Open Keychain Access Preferences, and then click Reset My Default Keychain.
Open Finder, locate the following folders, and then delete them:
/Users/Home Folder/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Microsoft Lync Data
/Users/Home Folder/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Microsoft Lync History

I have an intermittent problem that text displayed on a web-page is over-written by grey and sometimes coloured smudges and lines that prevent the text from being read. The smudges and lines can diappear dependuing on movement of the mouse, but they also come back again with further movement.
For example, this problem occurred when I followed the instructions for installing the Troubleshooter add-on.
I also have several problems with Firefox 18.0.2 freezing when running on Ubuntu 12.10.Please create a screenshot of the problem you're seeing by following the guide mentioned at [[How do I create a screenshot of my problem?]].

Application.xml over-written when deploying JDeveloper 10.1.3.2
Hi all,
I created a Web Application that contains JSF, EJB, and Toplink. I have a ViewController project, a Model project, and a Deployment project. The ViewController obviously contains my JSPs, etc, the Model my EJBs and server code, and deployment profiles for each. The Deployment project contains a deployment profile for creating the EAR file for the other two projects.
When the EAR is created (or if I deploy to stand-alone OC4J) the application.xml is generated without an module/EJB tag containing my EJB jar. Therefore when the server starts up it does not find any of my EJBs.
If I manually modify the application.xml in a created EAR file and then deploy it manually, everything works great. So, I tried to create an application.xml file in my Deployment project (and I tried in my ViewController project, too), but it ends up getting over-written and changed to still not have the module/EJB tag. Can someone explain to me how to stop JDeveloper from overriding this file or how to get JDeveloper to include this tag set when creating the application.xml?
Thanks,
MikeJDeveloper 10.1.3.2 supports J2EE 1.4 in which the web.xml does not include the
<taglib> element. Remove the <taglib> element from the web.xml. Specify the http uri in the <%@ taglib prefix='srp' uri='' %>
Add the taglib JAR file to project libraries. -
Why are Image Export Sizes Doubled when using Save vs. SaveForWeb&Devices?
Hi Folks
Maybe I'm missing something here ...
I have 2 versions of an action I use to batch process images. One uses the Save As dialogue and the other uses SaveForWeb&Devices. However, the image sizes created using the latter are about 50% smaller than those created with the former. The two actions differ only in the Save step - I duplicated the original and swapped the save step in the action.
Is SaveForWeb&Devices usign a more efficient optimisation algorithm or am I missing something?
The reason for using the Save As dialog is that Batch Processing is able to override the save location, whereas I had trouble overriding save location in a batch process which used an Action that Saved using SaveForWeb&Devices.
Cheers
Richard
P.S. I also find this size doubling takes place when using the Image Processing script supplied with PS. I'm on PS5 on OSX10.6.8.SfW throws out redundant custom data, when the normal JPEG save does not. Using the normal save e.g. also retains clipping paths (10 years ago people used that al lthe time for print stuff) and of course also more info on color management, user metadata and what have you. Therfe may bne more specific optimizations in SfW, but that's something Mr. Cox can probably answer better...

Images not displaying correctly when using crystal add-on for SAP B1
If you have a jpeg logo which has a graduated colour affect on a crystal report and preview and print it straight from Crystal, the image appears normal but when you run it through the crystal add-on viewer the graduated colour comes out in different coloured blocks and the image is not as well defined.
Is there a way to stop this from happening? Is there a setting I can change?
Thanks,
KateHi Kate,
At this moment I am facing the same problem: I want to display pictures on a quotation lay-out.
Tomorrow I will take a look at this with a collegue of mine. If we are able to solve this issue I will inform you.
Kind regards,

PS CS6: Images sometimes not saved when using Close All and instructed to save
I thought I had made a crazy mistake when this happened earlier today, but it just did it again and I was paying close attention.
I often open multiple images to make several changes, then use Close All and when it prompts "Do you want to save changes to ... before closing?" I check off the box to "Apply to all" and say Yes. This saves lots of time when adjusting several multi-hundred MB images. Imagine my surprise today when it closed an image without saving! I had to repeat about 30 minutes of work as a result.
I thought I had somehow accidentally clicked "No" to saving, so I made sure to pay close attention the next few times I used Close All to save work. It worked fine until a moment ago when it did it again.
Has anyone seen something like this? I can't find anything in searching. In all my time using this feature in PS I never once had a problem before. Thanks for the reply.
I just upgraded to CS6 from CS5 a few days ago, and this is my first week in heavy usage.
I do have Save in Background turned on. I am saving locally. I also have auto recovery saves turned on, at 5 minute intervals (CS6 has crashed a few times on me)
Yesterday I used Close All with Save maybe 10 times, and it exhibited this behavior 2 of those times.
In the two cases, I had 3 PSDs open, each a little over 400 mb in size. It seemed to save two of the images, but left one unsaved. I noticed that instead of spending several seconds saving, it would quickly just close that image - as though it believed no changes had been made. The changes that had been made to the image were routine - add some adjustment layers, some masks etc.
I have tried to reproduce it by opening the same images, making similar changes and then repeating Close All with Save, but so far no (bad) luck. Idle speculation - could it have something to do with the frequent interval of autorecovery saves that I do? Some kind of conflict? Or is it something to do with background saves? Definitely never saw this in previous versions of PS.
As a workaround, I have made a simple action that saves an image and apply it in batch. I just can't risk losing work. -

Why is photoshop taking up so disc space over time when using?
Hi. I was just doing some basic stuff like masking and what not. and suddenly my system tells me i've used up all of my main drive's space (I had about 10GB free). I am curious as to what is taking up this space and how to I clear it. And also can i shift it to my other drive which has 700GB free.
You mean you have a miserly 10 GB of available drive space on your boot drive? ?? !
If that's what you're saying you are indeed in a heap of trouble! Those 10 GB will have to be shared by both the swap files of the OS and Photoshop scratch files. That is insane. Whenever any hard drive gets to be over 80% full, you are already in trouble.
The rule of thumb I follow to figure out scratch space for Photoshop alone says to figure on 50 to 100 times the size of your largest file ever multiplied by the number of files you have open. I have seen the Photoshop scratch file exceed 800 GB once, an admittedly rare occurrence, but it often exceeds 200 GB when stitching large panoramas and the like.
As an example—and stressing that I'm aware that others have even more scratch space than I do—I keep two dedicated, physically separate hard drives as my primary and secondary Photoshop scratch disks and a lot of GB free on my boot drive for the OS. I also have 16 GB of RAM installed and I'll be increasing it to 32 GB by the end of this year.
Additionally, if you only have a single HD, i.e. your boot drive, you'd need it to be large enough to accommodate both the swap files of the OS as well as Photoshop's scratch. -
Mac mini losing signal over vga when using adapter.
At my church we are installing 2014 Mac minis in the classrooms and occasionally when we power them up the main display works perfect but the projector which is plugged in through the mini display port to vga adapter the screen will just be blue like it does't have a signal. When I check in system preferences the computer shows both displays plugged in though. Powering off the projector doesn't fix the problem I have to manually unplug and replug in the adapter.
There is no limitation to get 16:9 out of VGA. How far away is the TV? What are you using for a cable? Do you get the result you want from a shorter cable?

How do I save/export an image without a background when using Adobe draw on iPad?
Hi :-)
brand new new to adobe draw... Using on an iPad... How do I export/save an image so that it has no background? The solution is the following:
- by default the first drawing layer is white... and will remain so... you have to turn the opacity of this white layer to zero by pushing the white button on the left,
- then use any of the remaining 9 layers for your drawings,
- export to adobe Creative Cloud or Illustrator (not as JPEG) and you have you picture with a transparent background...
Hope this helps.. -
How do I get a mirror image of a photo when using aperture?
can someone explain this i am new to aperture and mac for that matter!!!
You may be able to modify the EXIF data. I don't know quite how Aperture will behave, but Preview works fine.
So, if you have [exiftool|http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool> (which can be a scary proposition if you're not familiar with the Terminal), you can modify the tags in picture headers. One tag, called "Orientation" (See [http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/EXIF.html]) tells your image viewer how to interpret the pixel data in the picture. You can change that tag to "Mirror Horizontal" instead of "Horizontal (normal)" and see what happens. This tells any good image viewer to decode the pixel data in the picture, but do it so the left of the picture in the file is on the right when you display it.
You should do this to picture not managed by Aperture, and then import the picture into Aperture.
So, after installing exiftool, do the following at a Terminal:
exiftool -Orientation='Mirror Horizontal' file1 file2 ... file_n
Where the file1... part is a list of picture files that you want to flip.
I just tried that with a picture on my desktop, and Preview opened it just fine and had it as a horizontal mirror image. I didn't import it into Aperture (Since it's already there as the correct image), but you may want to experiment with this until there's a built-in feature.

Image Preview grey out when using the Radial Filter
Hi,
I am trying to use the radial filter on my photo in the Lightroom 5, but my problem is that when I tried to create the eclipse with my mouse drag on my photo, the photo immediate disapper and grey out, once then, I cannot do anything with my photo
Even I tried to change other parameter for example changing the color temperature....etc., the photo is still disappearing and grey out, nothing showin in the photo display area.
The program is not hanged, it's just that the photo not displaying, I have to click the Library module and then click again the Develop module, then the photo appears again.
Is there anyone encountering this issue and share with me any solution ?
( I wonder if it's because my laptop below the Lightroom required spec, my laptop is Intel i5 2.4G with 4G RAM)
Thanks. My sincere thanks to those trying to help me. I've found the problem and feel extraordinarily stupid. In looking at screenshots in a tutorial, I realized the box that pops up for the controls for the graduated filter was collapsed on my screen. Once I clicked the arrow and got the proper controls, it works like it should. It's been a while since I felt this dumb!! But I guess that's why they call it the Beginner's forum, eh?
Thanks again!
