Images for picture box

I have to create a system configuration control for our machines.
What we are going to have are a lot of images (about 50 or so) that will be displayed as the operator selects different sub-systems to configure.
We started with a tabbed index, used "drag-n-drop" to put a different image on each tab of the front panel, then used the block diagram to switch from one tab to the next. So, in our block diagram, there is an enumeration wired to a Tab Control property-node for *each* change to the tabbed index.
Here is the problem: When we add new tabs to the tabbed index control (future features, etc.), the Tab Control enum changes, and the wire from the Tab Control enum to the Tab Control property node breaks.
Fixing these broken wires is tedious.
We can drag-n-drop the images directly onto the block diagram, and this would be an acceptable solution if we could find out how to get the images on the block diagram to load into a picture control.
Most of the images have to be sized to fit, so we don't want to have them dynamically linked to a folder. It would be best if we could place all of our images onto either the front panel or the block diagram, then load those into a picture box (or something similar) whenever the image is needed. But, for images dropped on the block diagram, there are no wires to connect them with a picture box.
Any thoughts? Suggestions?

I would suggest creating a typedef'd enumeration. This is a control (.CTL file) that consists of an enumeration and it's Status set to typedef
When you drop instances of this typdef on your block diagram OR fron panel, it is LINKED to the CTL. Any changes made the the CTL will AUTOMATICALLY update the instances on your fornt panel and block diagram.
When you add an item to your typdef'd enum, your Tab Control and your case statements will likely break, but you can usually use Add Page or Add Case and move forward. Your existing enums in the other cases should update.

Enlarge image from picture box when hover over

Hi,
I am just hoping i could get some help on something small that i can not seem to get to work.
I have a picture box, and when i hover over it i would like to change the image to a larger one. I am guessing that is how they give a interspersion of image been magnified when been hovered over.
I was going to use the mouseHover event but have read that it would not change back to the old image so i hacve used the mouseLeave & MouseEnter events but i does not seem to change the image.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked that these functions are actually executed (by putting some breakpoints or message boxes)? Also check that Largeback_icon and back_icon are different images in resources.

How to get alpha images on picture box??

Hi,
I am currently working on overlaying pictures(PNG format) and texts on the 2DPicture box using Picture Functions in Lv, on reading alpha images using Read PNG file function i could n't reproduce the exact original image. original image has an shadowing effect(you can verify by openning in Microsoft Picture manager) which couldn't be reproduced by LV. if any one has the suggestions pls help me...

OK, one of my pet peeves has been LV's handling of the alpha channel in PNG files. The built-in drawing functions for the picture control only support single bit transparency, ie. a given pixel can be opaque or transparent. When handling the drawing of PNG (and other) files, they decided to toss the alpha channel for a single-bit mask. You could use the threshold control and read the file 255 times to back out the alpha channel based on changes to the mask. What gets truly annoying is that the VI to read the PNG file is password protected and there is no way to retrieve the information that they are tossing away. They do most of the heavy lifting to read the file and don't let you piggyback.
I have dusted off and tried to error check some VIs I had written a while back to handle 32-bit PNG (RGBa) files correctly. Check it out, the new Read PNG VI will delegate to the built-in VI for most formats, but will retrieve the alpha channel from 32-bit PNG files. I use a slightly different image data format since the 1D arrays can be annoying, and provide a new VI to draw the PNG onto a picture control.
Interlacing is a pain in the butt so I didn't deal with that. And there are some .NET calls so I hope you are on Windows, if not, let me know and I can try to help you out. Anyway, enjoy (at your own risk since this code was written in my spare time).

E-M5 Mark II: Why does LR6 not support working with the full 4:3 raw image for pictures taken using a different aspect ratio?

When importing Olympus E-M1 or E-M10 raw images which are taken in aspect ratio different to native the 4:3 MFT sensor format, LR will display the frame as crop overlay to the full image as captured by the sensor. This is very useful because at time of postprocessing one can still control the position of the frame, and modify if required.
I was very suprised to see that for E-M5 Mark 2 this is not supported in LR6. The raw file in LR6 corresponds exactly to the frame which was chosen while shooting. Full 4:3 image information is present in the ORF raw file though, which can be easily seen eg using Olympus Viewer.
Is there any specific reason why this useful feature has been neglected for E-M5 Mark II?

Just select the frame and choose a color for the fill. If there's already an image filling the frame you won't see the fill color unless the image is grayscale, black and white (Bitmap mode) or has transparency.

In putting together a book I can move photos onto a page and enlarge the picture but is there a way to reduce the picture size? some cases I want a smaller picture and if I change the size of the picture box I only get a portion of the image. I wnt to red

If you right click on the image on the page in the context menu select photo box alignment and then select one of scale to fit {centered, Left-aligned, Right-aligned}
That should do what you are loking for.

Applying color to picture boxes with siloed images

I have picture boxes that contain photos that were siloed in photoshop.
When I place in InDesign, I want to put a color in back of the image. When I try the color sits on top of the image as well as filling the background
please advise.

You should be able to colour the picture frame without affecting the silhouette. Select the frame with the Selection tool (black arrow) and pick a fill colour.
If that's not working for you then perhaps a screen shot showing what you see will help us help you. The image must be hosted online somewhere (not here). I like Photobucket.com, but there's also Flickr and imageshack. once uploaded, enter the HTML to show the image in a new reply.

Copy an Image from a User form Picture Box to Worksheet Picture Box

I am new to VBA so apologies in advance...
I have a user form ("UserForm1") where an image is selected via a command button file dialog function
and then displayed in a picture box ("RRPPicture").
When the user clicks another command button to progress ("NextPage1"), I want the image held in ("RRPPicture")
to automatically be inserted into a fixed cell location or picture box on a Worksheet called ("Report").
Does anyone have any ideas, is it possible, I really have scoured the forums I know of...

Can't be sure but account verification possibly indicates that an email has been sent to you from OneDrive and you need to confirm and verify by clicking on the link as per the directions in the email and then follow any directions and this verifies

Zip your workbooks. Do not just save to OneDrive because the workbooks open with On-Line Excel and the limited functionality with the On-Line version causes problems.
To Zip a file: In Windows Explorer Right click on the selected file and select Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder.)
Do not use 3rd party compression applications because I cannot unzip them. I do not clog up my computer with 3rd party apps when there are perfectly good apps supplied with windows.

Click the button "Create a Link"
Click in the box where the link is created and it will highlight.

Single image in multiple picture boxes / shapes

hi all,
can anyone help please?
i have several empty picture boxes (they're irregular shapes and all in close proximity to one another) and a single image.
i want the image to appear in the shapes, but not repeated. another way to put it - i want the various segments of the image separated with these shapes... However - i want all of the image to be visible - ie where the image ends at the edge of one shape, i want it to continue in the next image without any gap in the image!
This almost works using Scripts -> Make Grid.... but obviously the shapes I want are all different shapes and sizes, not just a flat grid.
I've tried pasting the image into each box and moving each around with the direct selection tool till they look right - but it isnt practical. im sure there's an easier way of doing it?

What did you end up doing?
I was actually thinking about this this morning and came up with a way to make freeform shapes using the scissor technique and a supplementary drawn path.
First cut the image frame (and I moved the pieces apart to make it easier to work), then use the Pen tool to draw a random shape path connecting the open end points on one of the pieces, closing the path.
Now select all the points you just added with the Direct Select tool and copy, then paste a copy. You'll probably see an extra point beyond each of the end points you selected, so delete those, then select the path and Object > Paths > Reverse Path (I'm not certain this is necessary).
Move the path into the correct position against the other piece of the cut frame, then select both and Object > Paths > Join.

Transfer an image from VB Picture Box to IMAQ Viewer

Is there a way to take the current image from CWIMAQVision1 and place it in a VB Picture box? Similar to Picture1.Picture = Picture2.Image in VB takes the current image and transfers it to another picture box? Can you also do the reverse and transfer the image from a picture box and place it in CWIMAQVision1?

No, there is no way to directly move an image from the Picture Box to the CWIMAQ Viewer and back. The reason for this is that the CWIMAQ Viewer requires a different image data structure than the picture box. It is not possible to read a file with the LoadPicture command and then send it to CWIMAQ Viewer. You must read the file with one of the Vision tools to read files such as CWIMAQVision1.ReadFile.

You may have moved or removed content on your page or its possible you used the"Adjust Image" and over sharpeed one or more images.
I assume you mean it does not show up of new Chapter pages... have you checked the template?
Where you see the ? you need to either reduce teh box outline size - or drop anther copy of the original image onto it, it may fill the ? box or sit on top.... delete the ? box.
If its Chapter page only related, its better doing this in the template.
Is you image .jpg or .png?

When I drag the item off of the trifold that I am creating, it just disappears but I still want to use it. I just need to move it out of the way to modify other portions of the document.

Add another page below the current one to use as a storage area. You can't use the grey area around the page for storing items you want to use later.
Go to the Pages Menu>Provide Pages Feedback if you would like to request this feature be added in future versions.

How do I get images to automatically center in a picture box?

How do I get images to automatically center in a picture box (e.g. place a picture box on a master page and set it so that any image placed inside will automatically center, but not scale)? This was a simple procedure in CS5 (set "Fitting Options" to 'center' by clicking on the center box in the 9-box centering tool) but seems to have disappeared in CS6/CC. Am I missing something?

Hi and thanks. Actually, my problem is with setting the properties of the image frame to 'align center' before an image is placed, allowing me to place large numbers of images and having them automatically center instead of me centering each one manually. Even when I create an object style the frame will not hold any alignment settings and apply them to the image being placed (unless some manner of scaling has been chosen, which is not something I want). There are work-arounds I have used but it would be nice to be able to just put a picture box on a master page, set it to align it's contents to the center and just be done with it . Thanks though.

after my wifi connection disconnects and I turned off the wifi and restarted it
and now all of sudden it won't show pictures in my email like every single email

I have always left "load remote images" turned off.
If you get some junk mail (aka SPAM), when you view that email the images will load. The spammers can use this fact to determine that your email address is valid and will add it to their list of know good email addresses.
Is there an option to "Load Images" for each message? (Awaiting delivery of my 64GB 3G iPad).
