Images Go Missing

I have a problem with missing images on my web pages. I will insert images, eithther by dragging and dropping, or using the insert feature. I publish, and all seems well.
The next time I republish, though, the images disappear, and all I get is a question mark when I check the web page. If I redo the page, the images will show up, until I republish again, in which case I get question marks again.
Any idea what is going on here?

I'm dropping them onto the page, not into text boxes. I only use iWeb for regular web pages so far. I'm still using blogger for blog pages – less flexibility, but it doesn't use up my .Mac space.
I've dropped and inserted (Insert–>Choose) images throughout the site, but it is only these few that seem to disappear.

  • Why do i keep getting "image is missing preview data" when trying to move files from bridge to PS ??

I am not able to move multiple files to PS...regardless whether I am doing HDR or panorama.....get this "image is missing preview data" with the first file number of the series of files.
    #missingpreviewdata

You don't "move" anything from Bridge "into" Photoshop.  You use Bridge to call on Photoshop to come and open the file(s), and Bridge simply hands the files over to Photoshop.
The problem lies in how the files are being processed and saved.

  • CR Viewer tool bar images are missing; Export and Print are not working

    Hi There
I used Crystal report 10.5(VS 2008 base crytal report -- CRRedist2008_x86.msi), i developed ASP.net application using VB.net  program(i used .net 3.5). One of the pages in the application is having crystal report viewer, which is calling a crystal report to populate the result. The report is working as expected on development machine (Win Vista). Hence, I moved the application onto Server (Windows Server Web; 32Bit OS and IIS). I installed the CRRedist2008_x86.msi, which added the "aspnet_client" under default website. As my site is a made as an application under default webiste. I tried...
    a) By copying the aspnet_client folder into the website folder
    b) By adding a virtual directory called "aspnet_client" under my website pointing it into the folder under "default website"
None of the trials are working for me.
When I click on Print or Export buttons (although their images are missing), I get the error sigh on bottom left (status bar) of the browser and the popping up the same giving me below error details

    Hello All.
I am excited to let you know that the issue is being resolved.
Here is steps that lead me to resolution and solution..
I installed Fiddler2 and looked into every the debugging details of the transaction while running the report.
Learned that the crystal report is using the aspnet_client foler under "Default website" NOT under the crrent website.
Hence I tried to access the image via http path from local machine
    http://myserver/aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/CrystalReportWebFormViewer4/images/toolbar/export.gif.
(Notice, "mysite" folder is been removed)
I was expecting to see the gif on my browsers' body. It gave me an error.
Investigated further more on the error and found that the "Managed Pipe Line" of the respective application pool is to be changed to "Classic" instead of "Integrated"
    changed it .. Boom...
Tool bar is showing up with proper images and as well the "Export" and "Print" functions are working as expected..
Hope this helps to those in the same situation.
Again.. this is one of many many solutions on this issues.
    Thank You

  • Using Adobe Export PDF, I converted a PDF document into MS Word. However, all the images are missing

Using Adobe Export PDF, I converted a PDF document into MS Word. However, all the images are missing--replaced by black rectangles. How can I fix this? Thanks for any assistance.

    Hi Ravinder,
As I mentioned in my email to you, I wasn't able to reproduce the behavior your described.  The images appear properly.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • 'Some images are missing because they were deleted from the document'

    Hi,
I created a document in Pages v5.2 last week and have just opened it and received the following message:
'Some images are missing because they were deleted from the document'
When I try and replace the missing images I get the following message:
'The image "filename" couldn't be inserted.'
When I try and reimport the original image I get the following message:
'The image "filename" couldn't be inserted. This image is of an unsupported type.'
If I try and insert an image that was not in the document before, in the same file format, it goes in fine.
If I insert the original image into a blank Pages document it goes in no problem.
I would also like to point out that the data folder still contains lots of versions of images in the document, but does not seem to have any of the ones I am actually using, which I guess is where the problem is. However I have no idea how or why these specific images have been deleted.
Any light on how this problem has come about, and the best possible way to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
    Alex

I have Pages v5.2.2 on OS X 10.9.4. I can not reproduce your stated issues with images in this version of Pages. I don't have a solution for you. See my test in the third paragraph. If I were experiencing this behavior, I would perform a Safe Boot to clear out System caches, and try again, before kicking Pages v5+ to the curb.
The Safe Boot would be pressing and holding the shift key at boot chime, and until a horizontal progress bar shows on the screen. At the eventual login screen, after you type your password — press and hold the shift key — press the right arrow to login, and release the shift key after the Finder menu bar appears. Then reboot normally.
I have created a new document. Dragged and dropped an image into it and saved. Exited Pages. Reopening worked fine. Deleted the image, and proceeded through the following steps, punctuated by save, exit, reopen, and deliberate image removal. Different .jpg image each time. About mid-way through the following item list, I rebooted the MBA just to throw some "spin" into the process. I did not perform a Safe Boot prior to this series of tests.
    Toolbar > Media insert
Insert > Choose jpg into document
    Text Box image fill
    Shape image fill

  • Images suddenly missing (Pages 5.5)

    Hey all -
I just updated to Pages 5.5
Now all my pages docs are missing their images, and I get the "images are missing because they were deleted" error.
The docs were create recently with Pages (5.2 I think).
I know the images are still in the .pages package in the Data directory. I can see them by navigating in via the Terminal.
    But somehow they are disconnected.
    Anyone else getting this error?

I've tried it a couple of times now, albeit with test documents I made specially. Here are the steps again...
Open it in Pages 5 and go to File > Revert to > Browse all versions...
Use the Time Machine interface to restore the version before you opened in Pages 5. You'll get a repeat of the warning about how your document is going to be messed up, but you can OK that.
    Close the document.
You should now be able to open the same document in Pages '09.

  • Why the images have missed their frame stroke, once online?

I am working on my new website on iweb 09, and published a test, it looks very nice.
The only thing I don´t understand is why the images have missed their frame stroke, once online.
    What´s wrong, any idea?
    On iWeb, Inspector/Graphic/Stroke/Picture Frame

It appears that the Scrips folder for you site has not been uploaded or not uploaded fully. There are two files, iWebImage.js and iWebSite.js. Try the following:
1 - do a File->Publish Entire Site and see if the site works as intended. You may have to do a refresh on the pages a couple of times.
2 - next, in needed, publish your site to a folder on your hard drive. Mount your iDisk and go to the iDisk/Web/Sites/arkimo folder. Drag the two files above from the Scripts folder on your computer into the Scripts folder on the iDisk Then try the site again.
Part of the problem is the server, some files not loading the first time, and part is the missing js files in the Scripts folder.

  • Images are missing in Project Manager

I’m replacing old images with new ones in RoboHelp HTML 10.
I’ve deleted the old pictures in Design view and pasted the new pictures in. (I know this is not the recommended way but with lake of time I found it to be the fastest way and we don’t feel the need to give the files described names at the moment.)
It has worked fine until now when I noticed that some images are not showing in Project Manager. I see the “folder” Images and I see a lot off images there but some are missing. The “missing” images are shown in Design view and in the browser after publishing. But in the report Unused files the “missing” images are listed as unused.
    I have tried to
    close and reopen the project,
    generate and publish the project,
delete an “missing” image from Design view and insert it by using Insert / Image. After saving this image, and some other “missing” images, are shown in Project Manager. But not all “missing” images.
Does anyone know why this is, or more important how to get Project Manager to show all images that are used in the project (without having to go through all 154 images trying to figure out which are used but “missing”)?
    Some more facts:
    They are all gif-images.
They are all stored at the top-level in the project folder. (Are there a limit how many images there can be in the top-level folder?  Should I create a separate folder and move the pictures there?)
    HTML-code for one “missing” image:
              <img src="image7.gif" alt="" style="border: none;"
                     border="0" />
    Grateful for any input!

I would have said "Try renaming the folder containing the images in Rh's Project Manager. That sometimes fixes the problem. You can revert to the old name afterwards."
Keeping all the images, and / or topics, in the root is never a good idea. It can slow things down and it's messy.
You can move the images you can see but obviously you cannot move the others. Try moving a topic that has one of the images to a different folder and see if that refreshes. Also try deleting the CPD file and reopening Rh.
    Backup first.

  • I have updated my website, and uploaded via FTP, but some images are missing.  I have deleted them in i

I have published a website with iWeb on MobileMe quite successfully.  I purchased a second domain name, and republished the same site on GoDaddy before trying to point my MobileMe website name to the GoDaddy server. I was unable to upload several pictures to the second site, and posted my dilemma here.  It was suggested that I try using Cyberduck to publish via FTP, which I did.  I was still missing the same images. The error message says that there was a communications error with the FTP server and to try again later.  I have been able to upload several more new images to the second domain name just by using iWeb's publish feature.
I want to point my MobileMe website name, www.melissaveres.com to GoDaddy, which is now hosting www.mveres-engraver.com but it will only show the site as it is currently published, with several missing pictures.  I have tried to delete the photos in iWeb, bring them back in, and republish but with the same results.  I have contacted GoDaddy support, who can only tell me there is no file information for those open (missing) pictures, they have heard of this happening before, but had no information on how or if it was resolved.  Anyone know how to get these pictures up before I move from MobileMe?
    Melissa

Bring up the Activity window (Command+Option+A) for you site and check to see what files are missing and where they belong.  The URL for the missing files will tell  you what folder they should be in.
Then publish you website to a folder on your hard drive and open it locally with your browser.  Check to verify all images and present and the site works as you want.  Then you can upload the missing files or folder containing the missing files or the eintire site folder to your GoDaddy account with Cyberduck.

  • PDFs appear with fragmented images, metadata missing

Can anyone help with this one?
We use InDesign CS3 to create PDF 1.6's, directly from InDesign export. The metadata contained in the images on the layout normally are visible when you control click and select "show metadata" on the image in the resulting PDF with Acrobat's touch up object tools. Ocassionally, there is an unknown problem in the process where a given image will "fragment" -- when you click on it in the PDF, a frame surrounds only part of the image, and there's no "show metadata" choice to select. This is kiling us because we doconstruct those PDFs and put them into our long term archive, and the metadata is missing there!
    Any help would be appreicated!
    Thanks.

Sounds like some type transparency flattening going on in there. InDesign itself has issues when exporting to lower PDF versions (1.3) and also if transparent objects are around say hyperlinks/buttons etc. The XMP data can be destroyed since it's been broken down and is not the original content any more.

  • Newly created photoshop images/icons missing in finder in Snow Leopard

Ever since installing Snow Leopard, whenever I create a new image in Photoshop and save it to a file, and then I go into that file to look for it, it is missing. The only way I can find the file is if I enter the name of the image in the finder window and do a search - then it says that the image is in the image folder - where I put it - but when I go there, it isn't there. So the only way to find and then open that newly created image, is to remember what I called it, and then enter it's name in the finder serach window. Crazy, Huh? What could be causing that, and how can I fix that?
The other problem that I notice with Snow Leopard is that the newly created icon images in finder are all blurry. The blurriness seems to be random. Some are, some are not. I did a search for that in the forum and it seems that just about everyone is experiencing this problem. You would think after a year of complaints that Apple would do something about this, but they have not. They are completly ignoring the problem.

What version of CS? what Mac even is this?
CS4 or later (CS5.x probably to be current).

  • Get Info image data missing

I have used the Finder's Get Info command and accompanying window to determine the height and width of images since the beginning of time. Today that capability suddenly disappeared. When I select an image in the Finder and invoke Get Info, under "More Info" there are two hyphens instead of the dimensions in pixels (e.g. 300x250). I tried a dozen images in various formats like JPG and TIF but the dimension info doesn't appear anymore. I'm using System 10.5.8 on a 2008 Mac Pro. All the other expected info (creation dates, name, preview, etc.) in Get Info is there except for the image dimensions.
I did not do any recent updates and haven't noticed anything else amiss. I played around with Finder prefs, restarted the system, repaired permissions, etc. Nothing brought back the image dimensions. I can use Photoshop or other programs to get the image dimensions but using Get Info via the keyboard command was a nice shortcut.

I don't directly use Spotlight - I prefer HoudahSpot's interface to the Spotlight index. I have not changed the prefs in HoudahSpot or Spotlight itself, and the Spotlight Privacy list was empty when I just now checked it.
But you are definitely on to something because after checking the Privacy List to see if any folders had been inadvertently added, I then tried Get Info again on an image file and VOILA! all the image data had been magically restored. Indeed, Get Info image data is now working for all images I have checked in the past few minutes.
Thanks for the pointer. Apparently something triggered Spotlight to prevent the data from appearing and the mere act of checking the Spotlight settings restored the "missing" info.

  • Keynote: Some images are missing

Ever since I upgraded to Keynote 6.2 and Mac OS 10.9.3 my images are deleted somewhere between me saving the file, and retrieving the file again later.
Last night I was working on a brand new presenation I created (not upgraded or imported). Everything looked great. I saved the file on my computer. The next day I opened up the presentation to work on it, and I received that warning dialog and about half of my images were gone. I cannot tell if there is any common trait between the ones that were gone, or not.
This is causing me to lose hours and hours of work. I'm either going to switch to Powerpoint, or downgrade my Keynote. Not sure which.
I see lots of people with this same issue, but under different circumstances than mine.
Has anybody successfully resolved this issue?

Ah! That is perhaps the missing piece of the puzzle.
I use Google Drive to synchronize the folder on my computer with my Google Drive in the cloud. Thinking back on it, I probably created the presentation on my home computer, then tried to open the presentation on my work computer. Bam. Missing images.
I will have to run a test to confirm, but I feel very certain that this is most likely the culprit.
The new Keynote file format seems to contain multiple files, and that probably was the catalyst.
Unfortunately, that means that your zip file workaround will not work for me.

  • Image Effects Missing in PremPro CS4?

Hi - I was watching a tutorial recently where you can drag and drop image effects on your video footage in PPro CS4.  So I went to mine and I think mine is missing.  Please see snapshot below:
Are these image effects (the kind that will boost color, add a soft appearance like it's a dream, add other color or image effects to give them a film look, etc.) free with my copy or do I have to pay for them?  If free, where can I download them?
    Thanks.

If you can recall, at least part of the name of the Effect used, in the Query Box, just begin typing it. The list will shorten to only show Effects per the character string that you enter. Do not forget to clear that, when you have found what you are looking for, to get back to the full list.
For Color "enhancement," you might be thinking about some of the various Color Correction Effects?
    Good luck,
    Hunt
