Images on flash site half grey

Hi I have a website motionstills.co.uk which has dynamic flash images, the images have the same info in photoshop. However, some of them load as half grey... 1'st page, gallery image 4 and contact page. Has anyone had this before??
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Vince

To add to this... on my other computer I used google chrome instead of safari and the the home page image loads up fine, but not on contact. Also the contact form does not accept the keys zxcv ?????
Now the front page image is loading
I now have deleted the images in question from the server and uploaded again... They now work, However the contact form is still not accepting certain keys?
Not sure why the images went funny but fixed now by deleting and re uploading them

  • How can I resize my Flash site to fit any screen resolution?

    I built a 100% flash site with tiled framing but I have a

    resolutions greater than 1024x768 the webpage looks great but
    anything less than that it looks like @#$@. I know most people
    probably view at 1024 x 768. Is there anyway to auto resize based

    tlcarl,
    > I know most people probably view at 1024 x 768.
    You think so? Even if they have their resolution that high
    (which is
    fairly standard, nowadays), do you think most people maximize
    their browsers
    to fill that whole area?
    > Is there anyway to auto resize based up on screen
    > resolution or something to detect the screen size and
    > adjust the webpage accordingly.
    There is, indeed. :) Check out the Stage.onResize event in
    the
    ActionScript 2.0 Language Reference. That event is dispatched
    when the
    browser (or whatever container) is resized -- in cases where
    the SWF is
    embedded with percentages. If that's your aim, you'll need to
    code against
    that event, which can be done like this ...
    http://www.quip.net/blog/2006/flash/how-to-position-movie-clips-browser-resizing
    It can take a bit of thought, depending on the complexity of
    your goal,
    but the result is usually worth it. The site in your URL is
    already built,
    so this wouldn't do much of anything without opening the
    hood, so to speak,
    and completely rebuilding the engine. A Flash movie has to be
    designed and
    programmed to respond to the Stage.onResize event.

  • How to publish a small size flash site

    I have made a total flash site but the exported site is 50 mb!!
    Not a usable size, so I want to know how to make this site 'smaller'.
    there are a ton of flash sites on the www, so I must do something wrong..
    What is the normal file-size for a flash site?
    pleas help.
    grtz
    Daan

    Typically a flash file only gets that large when you embed a lot of images or video.
    If you want to shrink the size of the SWF, you will want to externalize those assets somehow.  If video, use progressive download and an FLVPlayback component.  If images, save them to a directory and load them at runtime with a Loader component.  Audio can be loaded at runtime very easily as well.
    If there is detailed animation over the video that isn't interactive, export the entire animation as a video, and then load that in another file to decrease initial load time.
    Typically, these days, a good size SWF comes in around 1-2 MB.  Ideally it would be much smaller than that, wherein the initial load should really be about 30-60 kb, so it will open in 1-3 seconds on a 56k connection, and then all other assets load after the initial load.

  • Lightroom Flash Gallery in Flash Site

    I am working on a Photography Studio's website and was wondering if lightroom would be able to produce flash galleries that just show the image. I am wanting to load the .swf file for the gallery dynamically through the original flash site, wanting an outcome similar to http://ourlaboroflove.com
    Also, I am wanting the images to be loaded dynamically in the flash file because the images will be rather large and I would like to save as much initial load time as possible. Thanks for the help.

    Sean, thanks for the help, but I am still experiencing problems seeing my images using flash pages via lightroom 2. My hosting company say that it is  a scripting error with lightroom, indeed this is their most recent response -
    'Upon visiting tedfoxjoyce.co.uk, I can see there is a problem with your scripts which mean the images don't load, this is not a server side error.  Please contact your developers or the software developers for advice.'
    Any other advice you could offer would be again much appreciated, Ted

  • How to update flash sites without flash installed

    Hi,
    aside from using ICE, is there a way for someone to update a flash site with pictures and text who doesn't have flsah installed on their computer? i.e., how can you add as well as replace additional text and image files without doing it in flash and publishing a swf file everytime?
    Kind regards,
    Steve

    It depends on to what extent you mean to add new content.  You can add content dynamically, but the groundwork needs to be in place in the swf for the data that defines the content to be processed as well as for placement of the content.
    XML is one commonly used way of defining content.  All a person needs is an ascii text editor file to change the content of an XML file, and the ability to upload that file to a server (or an interface could also be created for them to create that document online, but that's another system in itself).

  • Some Flash Sites are not displayed with Flash Player 9

    Hello everyone,
    After having upgraded to Flash Player 9 I cannot view some
    flash sites on either FF or IE.
    I have checked around with other users also and they cannot
    see them either.
    Although the page seems to be loading with title etc. it
    remains blank or it shows a blank block where it is supposed to be
    the flash movie.
    The problem is that it only happens to dynamic flash sites
    that load text and images from external documents.
    With Flash Player 8 they worked just fine.
    The problem is that it is our company's page so we want to
    have it up and running for everybody.
    You can check the page here:
    http://www.ideaspot.gr
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance

    When a customer's business website goes down after installing
    Flash Player 9 he just wants the site back up. First I had to
    figure
    out that they installed the Flash 9 player and then I had to
    go to the Swish site to find out that Swish files won't run right
    on
    the Flash 9 player unless they get patched first. After
    running the downloaded patch on all the swfs on the site (yes
    uploaded
    correct files and cleared the cache) there were still odd
    things happening. I didn't have time to analyze why this was so, I
    just
    had to put the site back up and fast. Now that I have that
    site back up (I have others that will need fixing too, no doubt), I
    will go back and test everything again with Swish.
    There are a whole lot of hours being lost over this
    Swish/Flash9 player issue. Regardless of who's fault it is, there
    are many
    Flash sites down now.

  • Putting gif images on my site

    I have a few questions about putting gif images on my site.
    How can I easily create a gif image from my favourite photos and put them on my site by using iWeb ?
    Can I do it by using Preview or QT Pro ?
    Thanks

    Flash is great as long as your audience is able to view flash animation on their systems. I've had trouble with PC users having Flash 7 viewer installed and not being able to view newer Flash 8 material. In a corporate environment, upgrading to each successive update is like pulling teeth.
    Having said that, I don't think animated GIFs are too hard to work with. There is a limitation with color depth and I think various programs produce gifs of varying quality. But everything I've seen have been more than acceptable for web viewing.
    I have a few examples on my website below. Check out the entries for "Goodbye Daisy," "Sporting My New Duds," and "An Important Message." I used Adobe ImageReady.

  • Nivo slider in a flash site..?

    I have a flash website, and an html website. I use Nivo slider on the html site as a slideshow to showcase images and tagline slides, I'm curious if anyone knows if you can put a Nivo slider slideshow in a flash site? Nivo slider uses jquery, with fairly simple html img src code and a css file, is it possible to have this in a flash site?
    Thnaks in advance!

    Nivo code looks something like this;
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="Nivo_slide/scripts/nivo-slider-2.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
    <script src="Nivo_slide/scripts/jquery-1.5.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="Nivo_slide/scripts/jquery.nivo.slider.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="slider-wrapper">
    <div id="slider" class="nivoSlider">
    <img src="Nivo_slide/images/nivo_images-tag-3.jpg" alt="" />
    <img src="Nivo_slide/images/nivo_images-weddings_1.jpg" alt="" />
    <img src="Nivo_slide/images/nivo_images-weddings_2.jpg" alt="" />
    </div>
    </div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(window).load(function() {
    $('#slider').nivoSlider();
    </script>

    Flash supports a very limited number of html tags -- used in TextField objects -- the complete list can be found if you look up the htmlText property of the TextField class.  Out of what you show, only the img tags are supported.

  • Updating a Flash site once it's live

    Is there a way once a flash site is live, that my client can change the text or even the images? Even if it's by uploading to the server? If perhaps they were all predetermined in size ect.? Similar to how HTML calls images from a folder located on the server. I'm guessing something to do with PHP? Touching upon this briefly so understand flash uses PHP to communcate outside of the swf file to complete certain tasks.
    Any suggestions would be greatly welcome!
    Cheers - Oliver

    you can use xml to store data used by flash.  the could include text used in various dynamic textfields and paths/names to images used by flash.

  • Uploading Flash Site

    Hello all,
    I have several questions and I would really appreciate any help that you may have.  First off, my main problem is that my company's website is loading slow and I'm not sure why.  All of my images are small file sizes, but I do have 4 scenes that I'm using , maybe that causes slow loading?  I've attached the website address below:
    www.constructnola.com
    I created my entire website out of flash.  Is this not the best way to create and publish a website?  Should I use Flash in conjunction with another website building software to create and publish my full website?  If I only use Flash can someone please point me in the direction of how to successfully build and publish a website through Flash that doesn't load slow, i.e. loading things dynamically?  What I've been doing is publishing my site onto my computer and then uploading the .html and .swf files to Godaddy for publishing.   Again, I would really appreciate any help
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    ghiadobe,
    Thanks for your response.  I'm not sure I understand what you mean by dropping your flash site into an html page for seo?  Can you elaborate please?
    Thanks,

  • Proportionate the image in flash

    Hello all,
    i had a xml wich is dynamically genrate the values, and i use those value to show as a image in flash as2.
    now the values are n numbers, if it is beyound the screen i want to resize the whole image in to best fit on my screen.
    I have attached the source file, advance thanks for the help

    In the code below I show red code which places the pieces inside another movieclip and then resizes it to half its width.  I know you want it to size to fit in the stage, but I don't know to what dimensions, so hopefully you can determine that math for yourself and adjust the width and height accordingly.  It would essentially involve first determining the height/width ratio after the assembly is complete, then changing the width to the desired width, and then using the height/width ratio to set the revised height for the revised width.  And you could keep the holder_mc invisible until all of this is complete if you prefer.
    unit_mc._visible = false;
    _root.createEmptyMovieClip("holder_mc", this.getNextHighestDepth()); // create the holding mc
    //////////////////////loading xml///////////////////////
    var myXml:XML=new XML();
    myXml.ignoreWhite = true;
    myXml.load("sampleInput.XML");
    myXml.onLoad = function(success)
    if (success)
    var poc=myXml.firstChild;
    //trace(poc.attributes.id);
    var tower=myXml.firstChild.childNodes;
    //trace(tower.length);
    var noOfTower=tower.length;
    for(i=0;i<noOfTower;i++)
    var group=myXml.firstChild.firstChild.childNodes;
    var noOfGroup=group.length;
    //trace (group);
    //trace(noOfGroup);
    //trace(towerId);
    for(j=0;j<noOfGroup;j++)
    var groupId = group[j].attributes.id;
    //trace (groupId);
    Setting();
       holder_mc._width = 0.5*holder_mc._width; // resize the holding movieclip
    ///////////////////end of loading xml//////////////////
      Setting=function()
      var curritem1;
      var depth=i+(j*100);
      curritem1 = holder_mc.attachMovie("menuitem","_mc",depth); // add the xml pieces
      curritem1._x=10+(i*160);
      towerheight=curritem1._height;
      curritem1._y=560-((j*(towerheight-20)));

  • What makes flash site small?

    I keep on building and expanding the site and it gets bigger and bigger. Now it is over 4MB and I still have to do plenty of image additons.
    I assumed that if I trim all the images I should be fine. So I went back in and made sure that all the images are at 72DPI, saved as 24PNG, and scaled down to about 75% on the screen from its original version (I did this just in case if someone will have a larger monitor than mine so all of them have enough resolution/size to be enlarged and appear nicely) But the site is still too big.
    Larger PopUp windows are done as UI Loaders so they can not affect the size of the main file.
    I can not figure out what else can be done.
    I use one image for all the symbols. For example there is a small button of a product represented as a product photo which repeats on the other section of the site as an animated collage. Animated collage would require a bigger photo of this same product. So I would import this bigger photo and use it for a bigger collage and smaller button as not to incert a smaller png of the same file and to increase the file size.
    The frame rate is set to 30fps.
    The rest is code.
    Can anyone suggest or point me in a right direction to what are the standard practices to keep the flash site small and where the main size guzzlers would be located?
    888acolyte.com

    Thank you, I understand now. Image quality is at my own discretion. I am
    the best judge of what I see on the screen. I went through the files and
    was able to shave off 0.5MB in size.
    Could you please tell me why it is better to use mc instead of buttons,
    rather than buttons.
    Is this the best code for creating mc buttons:
    // Btn1 Over function
    function amimated_btnOver(event:MouseEvent):void {
    amimated_btn.gotoAndPlay("over"); // go into btn1 movieclip and play the
    over frame label
    // Btn1 Out function
    function amimated_btnOut(event:MouseEvent):void {
    amimated_btn.gotoAndPlay("out"); // go into btn1 movieclip and play the out
    frame label
    // Btn1 Down function
    function amimated_btnDown(event:MouseEvent):void {
    //this.gotoAndPlay("myLabel"); // play any frame label in any movieclip
    // Btn1 listeners
    amimated_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, amimated_btnOver);
    amimated_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, amimated_btnOut);
    amimated_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, amimated_btnDown);
    What is your opinion on creating buttons using tweener engine?
    Thanks
