IMAP email not syncing

hy
Yesterday I have upgraded my phone from 5s to 6
and I've encountered a strange problem. One of my imap email accounts
which sink completely with my iPhone 5S with iOS 8.1,
seems to not pay forward anything I commend for my iPhone meaning
though it downloads my email as usual, when I try to erase and email or have it sent to a folder it does not apply
soon I let the email account sync again it will download again all the emails I have erased  or moved like I did nothing
has this ever happened to someone?

OK I am really hoping to switch my Comcast POP3 to IMAP. My comcast account has never been on my ipad since I hate deleting a zillion emails in all places.
I found this link. You have to request to be migrated. You do so at the following link.

I have set up my ipad for my comcast account with settings as shown above using imap.... as the incoming mail server.  Sending mail works fine.  I assume once enough time has passed (been 5 mins at this point) my ipad will just start getting the comcast mail.  I'll post if it works. For now its says the imap server is not responding.
I tricked mail into allowing me to set it up as IMAP by not using any comcast settings and then simply editied them.

  • Comcast IMAP Email Not Syncing on MacBook Pro

I recently had my comcast pop account switched over to IMAP with their beta trial and it worked with my iPad and iPhone (I had it switched over before I got a MacBook) and now the emails won't sync form my Mac, just my iPhone and iPad (still). Any help as to why? I set up the same email account on my iPhone and iPad, but the emails don't sync. Don't tell me comcast doesn't support IMAP because they have a beta trial and it works perfectly between my iPad and iPhone. Thanks in advance!

  • Incoming emails not syncing using IMAP

    Hello Community Members,
I am having a problem with one specific email not syncing incoming emails using IMAP on my BB Classic.
    IMAP server: imap.secureserver.net
I have followed the instructions and all the other accounts I have configured seem to work properly.
Downloading using POP works for this specific email.
Anyone experiencing similar problems?  Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Alan

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
It is possible that your email server did not, as part of the "wizard" configuration, provide the proper settings to auto-configure to the device. Therefore, I recommend you:
    Remove this email configuration
Find the proper settings to use, via the EAVT or perhaps by asking your email service provider
Reconfigure this email, but use the manual/advanced screens and manually enter everything, bypassing the wizard
Hopefully that will work for you.
Good luck and let us know!

  • How can I make my imap email not take the emails off the server?

How can I make my imap email not take the emails off the server when I delete them on my iPad?
Can anyone help me whith this?
I tried to use the pop account in gmail settings but that was downloading all my emails sice 2008 ( more than 300 deleted emails tha can only be found in the deleted email box), when I just have 5 or 6 email in the inbox .
    How can I solve this????
    Thank u all...

I have the same problem. For years I have been able to delete emails from my ipad and have them remain on the server so I can deal with them on the desktop. Now they get deleted from the server when deleted from the ipad, which makes the ipad unless for reading mail.
You answered to delete the email account on the ipad and set up a new one as a pop. I have made many attempts to do that in the  incomping mail server "Host Name" field but it always errors out even when the host name is equal to what my desk top has. So I can see no way to change away from IMAP. I started with an ipad 1 and now have an ipad 2.

Why isnt my godaddy imap email not loading messages?

I'm having the same issue, but slightly different - since upgrading to Mountain Lion the Inbox folder doesn't come across.  If I right-click on the account and select "Get Account Info", the 'Inbox' folder does not appear in the Mailbox list.  I've got a support email into GoDaddy but haven't heard from them yet.
Hey - sorry - I just realized this is an iPhone discussion group.  Can't figure out how to delete this post.

  • Work email not syncing with device as it should

Hello all My work email account, configured as IMAP account on my passport, is not syncing as it should. for example. if my outlook on my PC performs send/receive and mails are synced there, my device doesn't receive any emails. and if PC is off, or outlook hasn't performed a send/receive, i receive the emails on the passport. What i want done is that all mails, whether read or unread, whether synced with outlook or not, should be available on my device. and it is not happening. kindly help

Spent the whole day trying to figure it out. Still no show.
The outlook personal folder isn't going anywhere. I have outlook account set up as imap which means that emails on server are are always intact and BlackBerry should sync the inbox. But not happening.
I googled a bit and one article I found said something about bb10 not being able to get through TLS v1.2 and upgrading server to TLS v1.0, etc.
    Any suggestions about that??

  • How do I set up IMAP email to sync email between iPhone, Laptop and desktop

Applestore "Genius" couldn't answer and Applecare gave me wrong directions. I'm really struggling because I know it can be done!

    hey,
thanks a lot for the advice. but what do you mean by SYNC? how does Mac mail on my laptop sync to my iPhone? and/or how do i tell my iPhone to sync to my Mac mail on my laptop. i have tried setting up my mac mail on my laptop first, then iPhone. hasnt worked. tried it the other way around (setting up my iPhone manually) and that created new folders on my webmail interface/server.
then there are the "keep a copy" functions under mailbox behavior — should i "keep a copy on the server"s or not?
lastly, when i set up IMAP on my Mac mail on my laptop, it keeps a set of subfolders "Deleted Messages" "Sent Messages" and "Trash" underneath an inbox server corresponding to my IMAP email. these folders then ALL show up on my iPhone, which cant send receive or sync any email.
if i just delete everything email off of each device and start from scratch, can you send me specific setup steps? (that's assuming my desktop (G4) and laptop share identical settings in Mac Mail)

  • Mac email not syncing with iPad / iPhone

I am having a problem with Mail on my Mac not syncing up properly, and the problem is with the iPad and iPhone. The mail account is an IMAP account on Godaddy; the problem goes back before Yosemite, but it has taken me quite a while to find out what the problem is, so I'm hoping for a solution.
The problem: I get a new email on my Godaddy account. It appears almost instantly on my iPad and iPhone, but it does not appear on my Mac. But, this doesn't happen all of the time, sometimes I do get the message on my Mac as well. I have worked with Godaddy support, and they had me delete the account from my Mac an recreate it, seemed to work but a couple hours later it broke again.
Diagnosis of problem: Okay, so I started trying to diagnose the problem on my own to see if I can find a repeatable scenario, and I did. Here is what I did and, ultimately, what the cause is:
I logged into GoDaddy's webmail application so I could monitor when email came in, then check to see if it was being picked up on the Mac. Whenever I found one on webmail that did not appear on the Mac I checked my iPad and iPhone, that is when I found out that the mail was appearing on those devices all of the time, without fail.
When a failure occurred I quit Mail on the Mac and restarted it, it alway found the missing mail, even if I had read it on the iPhone and iPad.
With this in hand what I tried was shutting down the WiFi connection on both the iPad and iPhone whenever I was home. What I found was that when the WiFi connection was turned off I never missed a single email on the Mac.
So, next step was to turn the WiFi connection back on for both devices and monitor emails. This is what I found:
If the email was read first on the mobile devices then it never made it to the Mac.
If the email appeared first on the Mac, then it also appeared on both mobile devices.
So, the problem is that if the mobile devices get hold of the email before the Mac gets at it, the Mac never sees the emails unless I quit Mail and restart it. But, if the Mac gets hold of the mail first, it appears on both mobile devices as well
Any Ideas / suggestions? Other than turning off WiFi on the mobile devices every day when I get home .

No, but you can go to your email provider's site and set up forwarding for your current email address to your new one.  That would allow not to miss any email while your friends are changing their contact information for you to your new address.  I did that with my old ISP POP account when I switched to iCloud email.  Just set up forwarding and inform everyone of your new address.

  • Emails not sync between devices.

My email do not sync between my Macbook and my Galaxy S4. For example if I read an email or delete one on my phone, it won t show on the emails in my Macbook (I use the built in app). I have to redo the action...
Anyone knows why it is doing this or what to change?
    Thank you.

What mail provider do you have, and is it set up as IMAP in both places? POP mail will not sync.

  • Why will IMAP email not send from Mac OS 10.10.1 Yosemite Mail even though it is configured the same as on my old Macbook (and emails are sending just fine on the old computer)?

I can receive but cannot send IMAP email on my 1&1 mail account from Mac OS 10.10.1 Yosemite Mail on my new Macbook Pro. The account is set up the same port, password, username, server name as on my old Macbook and emails are sending just fine on the old computer.
When I hit send on the new Macbook Pro running Yosemite I get this message:
"The connection to host ... on port 993 failed.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent."
It shows the server as (offline)
I've tried erasing and typing in the password.  I've tried both checking and unchecking Automatically detect and maintain account settings. Still cannot send.
I also have a Gmail account and it is working...

email service uses an Incoming Server and an Outgoing Server. Mac Mail makes access to the Incoming Server(s) obvious, and hides the settings for the outgoing Server(s). A quick and easy way to get access to the Outgoing Servewr settings is to use:
    Window > Connection Doctor ...
... then click on the red light for the Server that is not working for you to see its settings.
This web page will make an educated guess about how to set up your Servers, and NO SPAM will follow:

  • IMAP email not appearing in Mail

Background: I have an IMAP email account that's over a decade old.  It's going away soon so I'm trying to figure out how to get a complete local copy of all that email.  There are a total of around 100 folders with anywhere from 5 to over 2000 emails in each folder.
The problem: there's email on the server that isn't showing up in Mail.  For instance one folder (according to the webmail interface) has 771 messages.  Mail says that folder has 700 messages.  Looking at the webmail interface I can easily find several of the 71 emails that are not appearing in Mail.  In Mail, if I select the folder and "Get Account Info" and look at the Quotas section, it lists the correct number of email messages (771).  If I rebuild the folder, as it's being rebuilt the blue progress bar at the bottom left of Mail says there are 771 incoming messages.  But when it's done, I can only see 700.
I just double checked on a second computer (MacBook Pro, also latest 10.7 version & Mail) and it's the same there, it only sees 700 messages.
Now, repeat this times the roughly 100 folders . . .
What's going on here?  Why isn't Mail downloading or displaying these emails?

I just looked in the User/Library/Mail/V2 folder, and tracked down this folder.  Digging down several levels into the files for this account and folder I found two sub-folders called "Messages" which contained a total of 774 (mostly) .emlx files.  In three cases there were a pair of files with the same number, one with an .emlxpart extension and the other with a partial.emlx extension -- if I assume that pair corresponds to the same email, this it appears there are 771 messages on local disk.  And Mail refuses to display 71 of them?
I'm doing a backup with MailSteward to see what it makes of these files.

  • IMAP email not refreshing on iPhone4s

I use IMAP email for a secondary email account (Groupwise) both on my MacBook Pro and my iPhone4S. Recently the iPhone has done something odd:
It stopped displaying new mail on attempt to refresh. The only way I was able to solve the problem was by viewing "1000 most recent messages" via mail settings. I never had to do this in the past and if I revert to a lower number, say 50 most recent messagess, the mail client just shows me some arbitrary 50 messages from a few months back. I could search the server for recent mail manually as well.
I use the same IMAP settings on both the computer and the phone, with no problems on the computer.
Any ideas of what this could be?
    Thanks in advance!

    Yes - it does not.
I installed emoze just a two days ago on my E72 and since then I have been drowned in frustration. Not with emoze itself, but with the mess it has left me in with my homescreen and other apps.
The first hint at something going on was when my phone did not display the usual text notification on the homescreen when someone had texted me. I had to 'stumble' across it in my inbox.
Then, my gmail that was still running by itself, couldn't open either from the homescreen.
Uninstall emoze. Message notifications are back. Gmail is still messed up.
    Uninstall gmail. Can't reinstall gmail.
Had to manually reinstall gmail as per IMAP settings provided here:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78799
Yeah, skip emoze. E72 does not like it.

  • Z10 Deleted Email not syncing to Gmail

My Z10 syncs email from Gmail, but does not sync DELETED email back to Gmail.  What changes need to be made.  Please help.  Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Community! First off, please check your account/hub settings for "Delete On", and make sure it is NOT set to "Hub Only". If that is set, then change it to either Prompt or Hub and Server. If that does not do it, then please with a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRTKB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless networkPlease wait for one "registration" message to appear2) RebootPre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts.
    Good luck!

  • IMAP email - not updating back at the office

I've been using IMAP email and could always delete or move items around my folders on the iPhone and everything would be identical in Outlook. I could sit in front of outlook and see the items disappear or move as I manipulated them on the iPhone. Not the case since 2.0 update. I'm back to using expunge.exe command to process all the edits done on the iphone.
I know this was an issue in early iphones versions.. and then fixed in a later update.
I have exchange 2000 and can't use the new exchange mail.
Have I missed something? or did 2.0 revert back to the earlier problem?

HHaving the same issue here,im don't think you can roll back.
did it start after crashing while trying to send an email with multiple attachments?
