IMessage sending failed
My partner and I are both having issues with iMessages failing to send.
We're both on EE UK, she has the 4S and I have the 5 both with the latest
software. We get the same issue on wifi as well.
Found some suggestions that advise if you disable iMessage the reset network settings
then re-enable everything it should all work but makes no difference.
Any suggestions?
Hi,
File sand Pic in line are "Attachments"
The Folder that stores these is in ~/Library/Messages
Then each items has two sub folders that relate to the chat before you see the item itself.
Here is an example pic.
Note the Path Bar across the bottom of the window.
You can display this in the Finder > View Menu > Show Path bar.
You may notice that the newest date (Modified Column again View Menu Show View Options) is around th time of the Upgrade.
Check the Messages Folder by right-clicking the Messages folder icon and using the Get Info option.
At the bottom it should list your Mac Account Name (the same as the Little House icon gets) and you should have Read and Write permissions.
If you also Highlight your name and then use the little Cogwheel type icon you will get s drop down that should say in grey text "Make YourMacName (Me) the Owner" It should be greyed out as you already Own the folder.
You will need to check each enclosing folder (actually only the Library in this case) back to your Home (Little House icon) folder.
Another consideration in Mavericks and Yosemite is that this is not the route the computer uses to Write to this Folder or read from it.
Double Click the Library in the Path Bar.
Navigate to Containers/com.apple.iChat/Data/Library/Messages
This Contains an Alias that if you double click it should take you to the Attachments folder. (Check that the link to do this is not broken)
Do the Get Info thing on this Messages folder and this Library plus th Data one and the com.apple.iChat one.
This "Read and Write" route is part of the sandboxing that helps protect the system if an app has problems.
Another issue related to this is the endless "Updating" report that is these two places being index for searches.

Howdy ferretdog,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’ve already done quite a bit of troubleshooting while attempting to resolve the issue making FaceTime calls with your MacBook Pro. I recommend taking a look at the article linked below because it has a lot of additional suggestions that you can try, which will resolve most issues like this.
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime
Resolution
If you encounter issues making or receiving FaceTime calls, follow these steps:
Update both devices (your device and your friend's device) to the latest version of iOS.
If you started to have issues making or receiving FaceTime calls after April 16, 2014, you or your friend may have an expired device certificate. Updating both devices will resolve this issue.
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in Settings > FaceTime.
If the issue persists or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation," turn FaceTime off and then on again. Learn what to do if you can't activate FaceTime.
If you don't see the FaceTime setting, make sure that Camera and FaceTime aren't disabled in Settings > General > Restrictions.
Verify that the date and time are set correctly: Tap Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically.
Verify that both parties have an active Internet connection and are connected to a Wi-Fi network or a cellular data connection.
Verify push functionality using Mail or other applications that use this feature. FaceTime uses push notifications to send and receive invitations.
Make sure that you have the correct phone number or email address.
Restart your device.
If using FaceTime over a Wi-Fi network, go to the steps to resolve Wi-Fi network issues.
I hope this helps,

Why is imessage sending a weeks worth of my messages late and all a once?
seriously? i bought a new mac. and all te imessages are failing and not working!!! i heard such great things have used ipad and iphone never thius issue. now a friend shared he just got the last weeks worth of messages from me this morning!! thats a entire novel lol help!!
I had a feeling. This can happen a lot with Yahoo (so much that I knew to ask ;) )
The goal is to get those notes to more stable account like iCloud (or something else)
So you'll need to export them. You can go to yahoo.com and sign in and then email the note to yourself or go to Settings>Mail,contacts, calendars>Yahoo account>turn Notes ON/OFF. Copy and paste the Notes in to new notes (syncing with a....I hate to say it.....better account.
To make your change your default Notes account go to Settings>Notes.
iCloud notes need an at icloud to sync notes with icloud. When you turn iCloud notes ON, you'll be asked to get a free icloud.com email (if the account doesn't already use one) rest assured it won't change the name of your icoud account ( it will just create an alias you can log in with or send email from)
When the default account for notes is set to iCloud when you add a new note it will sync to iCliud (or other account of your choosing

How to log "send failed" to a file instead of showing a pop-up message
Hi, I am working with Flex 4.1 on Linux but I suppose this problem must be common to all versions of Flex.
I am working on a Flex client front-end which connects to a Java back-end (in Tomcat) via BlazeDS. All of this works OK 99.9% of the time. However, from time to time (let's say, if the client browser has been open for several hours), the user gets a pop-up message saying "Send failed". It seems to be a harmless transient error -- if the user closes the pop-up, the front-end carries on as usual and seems to continue to work as expected.
Is there a way to have the "send failed" message written to a log file instead of opening a pop-up message?
As a separate problem, if anyone has seen occasional, transient "send failed" errors, I would be interested to hear about that. If you have some solution to make them go away, that would be terrific.
Thanks for your time, I appreciate your help.

With iOS6, iPhone and iPad users will see that their Send & Receive iMessage settings have updated across their devices to be made available at both phone numbers and email addresses. You may have also seen alerts on one or more of your devices advising that another device is now using the same Apple ID/phone number for iMessage.
Being able to be reached on iMessage on both Apple ID and phone numbers across devices means that iMessage can keep the same thread and sync across devices.
Due to having 2 iPhones on different phone numbers running along side my iPad at one time, (whilst I was waiting for my phone number to be moved to a new provider), my iMessage settings on my iPad lost my phone number completely. I thought I would document the steps to recover this for anyone in the same boat.
1. Check that you are signed in with the same iCloud Account on both iPad and iPhone.
2. Turn off iMessage on your iPad from Settings > Messages.
3. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. You should see your phone number and your iCloud email address in the 'Your can be reached by iMessage at:' list. Make sure both are ticked.
4. At this point, I synced my iPhone with iTunes, then synced my iPad with iTunes.
5. On your iPad, turn iMessage back on - your phone number should now show in the 'You can be reached by iMessage at:' list. Tick the phone number. You should receive an alert on your iPhone.
This should resolve the issue.
With the above set up and with the iOS 6 updates, iMessage should now sync fine across devices however I have still found the most successful way to run iMessage is to always start new conversations from your Apple ID and to start new threads by addressing the first message to an Apple ID from an Apple ID.
To do this, go to Settings > iMessage > Send & Receive and tick your Apple ID in the 'Start new conversations from:' list, then start a new iMessage thread to the recipients Apple ID. This way, the thread will sync across iPad and iPhone. Note that a thread set up this way will not fall back on SMS, so you get a clean iMessage thread. This method also worked/works on iOS 5, as long as you send the first message of a new thread from an iPad (which can only send via Apple ID) to an Apple ID.
Hopefully this helped someone!ipad has no phone number, you use a same email address for both devices. and set it in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive

Setting Timeouts for Synchronous Processes
For synchronous processes that connect to a remote database, you must increase the syncMaxWaitTime timeout property in the SOA_Oracle_Home\bpel\domains\default\config\domain.xml file:
<property id="syncMaxWaitTime">

<value>60000000</value>
<comment>
The maximum time the process result receiver will wait for a
result before returning. Results from asynchronous BPEL processes are
retrieved synchronously via a receiver that will wait for a result from the
container.

The default value is 60 seconds.

</property>
But this changes nothing...

I'm new to consuming web services in JDeveloper. I'm using Oracle JDEV 10.1.3.3/OC4J. I'm using this version since it is compatible with Oracle EBS 12.1.3. My intent is to pull data from our third party recruitment app (Success Factors) and load that data into Oracle HRIS. I'm already doing this through a .NET application. I'm converting it to be a Java Concurrent Program in EBS. The code listed below is a stub call to verify I'm on the right track. I created a JDeveloper Web Services proxy project. I'm testing it locally on my windows desktop. When I'm able to consume the service successfully, then I'll think about moving it to the EBS server.
I'm getting the following error when I invoke the following service:
HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: String index out of range: -7
End point is: https://api4.successfactors.com/sfapi/v1/soap?wsdl
Any help/assistance would be much appreciated.

That might be because you are sending incorrect data and the other end fails to validate it.
You might be able to guess based on your C# code. But, since you are using soap one generic solution is available to you.
- Get an http proxy interceptor like wireshark.
- Run it while your C# app runs, collect the http requests from that.
- Run it while running your java code, collect the http requests from that.
Compare the two. -
RemoteObject throwing "Send failed" error
I'm trying to read some data through a java class using Tomcat and blazeds. I'll post some of my config and code here.
Here's the destination block of my remoting-config.xml

Here's my olapQueryHandler method

I call the remote object in a method called initApp that is called by the preinitialize event, like this

SOAPException: Message send failed: Connection timed out
Hi! How to solve "javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Connection timed out: connect" in a page jspx using ADF Webservices Data Controls ? I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 .
Edited by: reginaldo oliveira on 16/09/2010 11:29Vishal, I'm taking up this question. I can't to use HTTP Analyser because one of the parameters of my web service is a datasource of weblogic domain, and I know that an error occurs when I have an application in weblogic domain of JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 trying obtain connection pool from other weblogic domain. In fact, I need a way to set proxy and port if I use web service through a web service proxy and/or web service data control of ADF. Using web service proxy, in my class PortClient I have defined a method this way:
public static void definirProxy(){
String enderecoProxy = null;
String porta = null;
try{
enderecoProxy = "190.0.1.236";
porta = "80";
System.setProperty("http.proxyHost", enderecoProxy);
System.setProperty("http.proxyPort", porta);
System.setProperty("http.nonProxyHosts", "localhost, 127.0.0.1");
}catch( MissingResourceException mre ){
mre.printStackTrace();
}this don't work, but I do it because I have read this page:
http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.5.0/docs/guide/net/proxies.html
Do you have an idea? And how to set proxy and port when we using ADF Data Controls of web services? -
Why won't my iMessage work with only one contact in my phone all my other iMessages send and they just got an iphone but all their iMessages are sending also. I've tried restarting my phone, deleting messages, contact, restarting network
Hello Jesslb23,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps first
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you have registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you have selected iMessage for use. Learn more about troubleshooting iMessage registration if the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. Learn more about troubleshootingcellular data or a Wi-Fi connection if a data connection isn't available.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while on a call if your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls.
Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you are still unable to send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Verify that the contact you are attempting to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact in the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.
Best of luck,

Report scheduled for delivery runs perfectly, but sends failed notification
Our BI Publisher 10.1.3.4 has spontaneously started refusing to deliver reports. The same reports that have always been delivered via email are now sending failed notifications instead.
I have put the server in debug mode and watched the process from beginning to end, and there is no indication of any problem. The relevant log section is below. You can see that it gives absolutelly no indication of why it is sending the failed notification.
Furthermore, the report output is generated successfully, and I can open the PDF from the job history and it looks good.

1. I would clean my temporary directory. If not set then it will be ORA_HOME/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/xmlpserver/xmlpserver/xdo/tmp
In your case it is:
/u01/oracle/product/10.2.0/BIPHome1/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.0/xmlpserver/xdo/tmp/
And test again. Ensure it has enough space.
2. If it does not work then I would read Oracle Support Note 797057.1 and see if there is a new patch for your installation.
The latest is from Nov 2011. Apply it and test it.
If none of the above work then I would open a ticket with oracle support.
From the BIP code I can only notice the issue happens during the delivery of the attachment through email delivery channel.
It is strange you can not deliver a document using email delivery channel but still can send notification using the same email server!.
good luck
