Imessage through iCloud

Hi. I have Imessage through my Apple ID on my home computer and on my work computer.  I like using it at work to answer messages, but don't want them all popping up on my home computer at the same time. Is there a way to disable Imessage on one computer?

Of course. If you want to disable Messages on a Mac (or at least, disable your iMessage account), open Messages, go to Messages menu > Preferences > Accounts, choose your iMessage account on the sidebar and deactivate the account. Then, close Messages and you won't receive any iMessage on that Mac.
If you only want to disable notifications instead, open System Preferences > Notifications > Messages, and turn off Messages alerts and sounds, so you will only see that a message has arrived looking at your Messages icon

My iPhone is sending iMessage through Icloud email? How do I fix this?

Open settings app on your phone
    tap messages
    select send and receive
uncheck your Apple ID and check your phone number.
also makes sure SMS is ON
To be accurate, your text messages are sent via apple servers to other apple users, using your Apple ID

  • IMessage sent through iCloud email

I recently restored my phone to an earlier state from a few hours ago. After doing so, I sent an imessage to a friend; however the imessage didn't go through and kept saying "sending". I double tapped it and hit "send as text message" and it went through. However, after setting up my imessage setting on my iPhone and Mac, that one friend has been receiving imessages through my iCloud email. But all my settings for receiving/sending imessage's and facetime are to my phone number. The weird thing is, everyone else is receiving my imessage through my phone number, but only this one friend is receiving them through my iCloud and when they try to text my number it goes through as a SMS text message.
Does anyone know a solution for this? I have tried turning on/off my phone after I signed out of imessage and the app store.

I bought a T-Mobile iPhone a month ago and it was already activated when I got shipped to me. I didn't have to actiavte it.
Any T-Monile sim will show the T-Mobile logo when inserted and will show the signal bars . This is so you can use the T-Mobile data signal to activate if you have no WiFi, especially useful for iPads.

  • How to send a text message reminder of a calendar appointment through iCloud?

We use iCloud calendar for patient bookings in our Physio clinic. I've been told you can set up reminder messages to be sent as a text message (synced with contacts) through iCloud but have not been able to work out how to do this.
If anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

You cannot set up reminders for events that will be sent via iMessage or SMS.

i am new to icloud.  i would like to manage all our household email accounts through icloud.  i currently use gmail.  is there a way to route all gmail messages through an icloud email so i do not have to change my email address?  also how do i create multiple email accounts using the same apple id?
    thanks all.

No, iCloud does not handle 3rd party mail, and Google can already sync to all your devices without any help.
iCloud accounts are individual, there is no 'Family' account. Open an account for each user, each will have an iCloud address.

  • HT4907 I am able to connect to my Mac Mini on Back to My Mac through iCloud but the keyboard/trackpad on the MBAir or MBP with which I access does not register on the Mini.  So I can see the screen but cannot interact with it. Mini works accessing MBP/Air

I am able to connect to my Mac Mini on Back to My Mac through iCloud but the keyboard/trackpad on the MBAir or MBP with which I access does not register on the Mini.  So I can see the screen but cannot interact with it. Mini works accessing MBP/Air and I can use Mini to input data or interact with screens of those computers.

Regarding your first question about bookmarks, I think you discovered the answer in when you pressed the address bar. The second tab there has your bookmarks.
As for the keyboard, I'm not sure why your Firefox is reacting so slowly; mine seems to show keyboards even when I don't want them. If you have accumulated a lot of history, perhaps that's an issue?
Did you use any third party software to move your Firefox data from internal memory to the storage card?

In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

  • Sharing contacts in Address Book through iCloud

I work in an office where the contacts in our Address Book App. need to be shared with multiple users over multiple computers/devices. We currently have all of our contacts in the Address Book App. but whenever a new contact is added we need to physically transfer it to each machine. Ultimately, we need to accomplish 3 tasks:
    1. We need to be able to create, edit, and share contacts on and between multiple computers/devices/accounts. Access is needed by all employees, including our boss.
    2. Some of our contacts need to be kept private, (not shared across all machines) associated with a single account. These are our bosses private contacts that are included in the mass of our current Address Book App.
    3. Do all of this in iCloud
Is it possible to share groups in Address Book over iCloud while keeping other groups private from sharing. Of course, these private entries would still need to be accessible through iCloud by our boss. I've read threads explaining that setting up a "Family Account" alongside individual accounts allows one to share contacts through the "Family Account" while keeping contacts in the individual accounts private. It seems though that this solution has its issues.
If there is an efficient and effective way of doing this, please share!
    Thank you in advance!

If iCloud can figure this out Google is toast. Hope someone from Apple monitors these discussions.

  • There are three apple iphone users in my household with one main computer.  How do I set up each iphone (and istore account) so that we don't corss sync contacts, calendars etc. also can i do this through icloud? so that

There are three iphone users in my household but only one main computer. I am the primary users and have all my business contacts on my iphone and computerr.  The other two in the household also have iphones with their own contact lists.  is there a way to set them up so that we can share some music but not contacts.  Aosl need to be able to back up their data which I presume would be through icloud and a separate iapple itues id.  how do I go about setting this up?

There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:
iTunes- How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
iTunes- How to share music and video
iTunes- How to share music between different accounts on a single computer

  • Can I access my other email through iCloud

Is there any way to access my other email accounts through iCloud?
Example: My work email is through cox mail. (it is [email protected] I never really used my mobileme email (that is now in iCloud).
For iCloud to be useful for me, I would want to access my work email through it when I am on the road. Is it possible to add other email accounts?
Of course, I can access my cox mail through their own website - but it sure would be useful to access my calendar, mail, etc all in one place (the cloud). Isnt that the point?
I have heard of people setting up - for example - a gmail account but have it actually LOOK like their work email to the receiver. If I cannot just add my other accounts to iCloud, is this a possibility?

thats too bad. Oh well. So far I dont see a big use for iCloud. I much prefer the older MobileMe.
I could park my iWeb websites of my children - with iCloud that disappeared. Kinda defeats the user-friendliness of iWeb. One click publishing through mobileme account was a great idea.
One day there will be one spot where I can park all my stuff. I guess iCloud is not that place. Hopefully this is just the first step and it will get fine tuned and expanded in the future.

  • I have a  macbook, an ipad, and an iphone with the Mail app on all three synced through icloud, but when I read and delete emails on my phone, the inbox on my ipad is not update, so I have to go through and mark as read or delete messages again. How can I

I have a  macbook, an ipad, and an iphone with the Mail app on all three synced through icloud, but when I read and delete emails on my phone, the inbox on my ipad is not update, so I have to go through and mark as read or delete messages again. How can I sync my iphone and ipad? (it seems like each is synced only to my laptop, so don't synchronize until I go home and use my laptop.

POP: yahoo, aol, comcast/time warnder/road runner
Imap: google, hotmail, and more including icloud.
If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically  Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.
To find out more about what happens to you, search on Google "difference between pop and imap"

  • I want to upgrade my storage plan in icloud. Before that i want to know whether synchronization of data in my PC and data in one of the applications of ipad is possible through icloud or not

I want to upgrade my storage plan in icloud. Before that i want to know whether synchronization of data in my PC and data in one of the applications like "phone drive" of ipad is possible through icloud or not?

The Photos app doesn't currently support subfolders, it only has the one level of folder/album. You will either need to change your folder structure on your computer to be just one level, see if there is a third-party photo app in the store that copes with subfolders, or just make do. How do i deactivate a device through icloud if the device is broken and i am unable to turn on find my iphone? Also i do not own a apple id as ive been using a family members due to problems when trying to make one?

    Hey tyjox,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you need to deactivate Find My iPhone on a device that does not work. You will need to work with the family member of the account the iPhone is registered with. I would recommend that you use this article to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
iCloud: Remove your device from Find My iPhone
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2702
Remove an iOS device you no longer have
If you no longer have the iOS device because you gave it away or sold it, you need to remotely erase it before you can remove it.
Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud). If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, then select the device.
Click Erase [device], then enter your Apple ID password. Because the device isn’t lost, don’t enter a phone number or message. If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it’s online. You’ll receive an email when the device is erased.
When the device is erased, click Remove from Account. All your content is erased and someone else can now activate the device.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • How can I share a large iPhoto '11 library on multiple computers (I am the user on all) through iCloud?

I have three residences, and in each I have an iMac and a MacBook Pro (sixe devices in total, I do not like carrying computers through airports :-)) and I have an iPhoto '11 Library with 3,000 photos+.  I know I can use Photo Stream to access recent photos via iCloud from these multiple devices.  My question is:  can I create a single iPhoto library stores in iCloud so that all my devices can in fact sync their libraries through iCloud?

    No
That is not a feature of iPhoto or iCloud
