IMovie compatible video app

I am a teacher, relatively new iPad user. I would like to find an app that allows me to create videos that can be added to our morning announcements. The teacher in charge of announcements uses iMovie. I need an app that is user friendly, includes a pause feature so I can record in small segments AND it needs to be easy to record in iMovie compatible format OR be easy to convert. Any suggestions?

The built in camera app records in the format that iMovie prefers.
Also iMovie iOS has a built in recorder that shoots in a higher quality.
you you can record then edit straight on the iPad.
if you need to export the video you can do this by plugging the iPad into a computer, and using a photo app take the video off.
ON a mac you can use 'image capture' app found in applications/utilities.

Download the latest version of iTunes, then plug in your iPad.
Regardless of what OS you have you will have a photo sync option.
It may look different being windows, but it is not so dramatically different.
Here is a guide for photos, but works just as well for video:
Step A: Opening iTunes and Setting Photo Sync Up
Fire up the iTunes – Make sure that your iPad device is selected (see A1), and that you are switched to the Photos section (see A2) – finally – make sure you check “Sync Photos” Radio Button (see A3)…
Also make sure to Tick the Include Video button!
Step B: Selecting Photo Folders to Sync
You will be on the same screen – double-check that B1 is checked and move onto B2 – here you will chose folder that contains pics you want to move onto the device. Finally, for the purpose of this exercise – let’s chose “Selected Folders” as in B3 (I try to avoid “All Folders” as my photos folder has a large number of photos that would occupy pretty much all free memory space I have on my iPad)
Step C: Navigate to Photo Folder
This should be a straight forward step that you have probably completed many times before – navigate to the folder that contains photos that you want copied onto your device – the path to your folder will be something similar to C1 (emphasis on ’similar’ – but not “the same”). Once done, click C2 (“Select Folder”) as shown on the screenshot.
Step D: Excluding Folders from Sync (SYNCING)
In this step you will be able to exclude photo folders that you don’t want to see on your iPad – Verify that D1 and D2 are correct and then move to D3 where you will select what is being moved onto the iPad.
ONCE YOU ARE DONE HIT THE SYNC BUTTON (LOWER RIGHT CORNER OF THE ITUNES APPLICATION)
    Step E: Open Photo App
Quick and easy – find a Photo app on your iPad (it’s likely it’ll not be at the same spot as shown here)
    Step F: Opening Albums View
Once the Photo App is opened – hit the ALBUMS button (see F1):
    Step G: Open Album
Once in “Albums” view of the iPhoto App – you will be able to see all albums that have been synced – the albums should contain the photos you would like to see. For the puprose of this exercise I’ll hit G1 (album with Bird Photos):
    Step H: The End
    Here is another guide:

Is it possible to transfer video to iMovie from video app (not the library)
    IPAD-IOS

If you're asking if you can import video fror the iOS Videos app to iOS iMovie, the answer is no. You can only import what is in the camera roll.

  • How do I move a movie I have synced from iTunes into the "Movies" tab of the Video App? I need to access a slideshow I made in IMovies and may not have WiFi. I did it once, but can't figure out how to do it again! The file is an m4v. Thank you!

Im just guessing but it seems like you would have to get your movie into the correct folder on a computer then use iTunes to sync it to your iPad. If you've synced to a computer and have movies then on your computer should be a folder with the movie in it. You could export your iMovie to something like Dropbox then download from Dropbox to the folder you think it needs to be in the sync your iPad again. Again this is just a guess. Others may have a better answer.

Unless you want a new computer, forget about AVCHD. It requires too much muscle to edit comfortably on anything but the fastest computer.
What camera is nice, depends on your budget. Formats that are easy to edit are HDV, DVCProHD (P2) and XDCAM. In the consumer range you could look at the Canon HV40 or XH-A1s, in the prosumer range look at the Panasonic AG-HPX170, Canon XH-H1s, JVC GY-ND250 or Sony HVR Z5 or Z7 and all Sony XDCAM cameras, especially the EX1 and EX3. In the professional range look at the Sony PDW-F355 or upward.

  • List of compatible video cameras and codecs for iMovie 1.2.2 (iOS)?

Is there any official or unofficial list of compatible video cameras and video formats/codes published by anyone?
By the way, I successfully managed to import .mov (motion jpeg) from Panasonic DMC-FT1 to iMovie for iOS5. The AVCHD setting (.mts) does not work however.

Not that I've ever found. I tried to research on the Apple site before I bought it but found nothing.
I will say that SD cards are pretty universally compatible and I've not had an issue plugging htem into my iPad. So if your camera has an SD card, you should be good to go, and you can sync without running down the battery on your camera (I honestly never sync my camera with its cable since it does little more than kill the battery, I always do it just with the card, but everyone likes doing things differently)
What might be more helpful, search your camera manufacturer's information. It might be easier to find your camera company saying it's compatible iwth the CCK than it is to find a list of all cameras. Or maybe you can post your camera model here and maybe someone else has the same model and can tell you.

  • IMovie compatible conversions and metadata

I have a camera that saves in .asf format. I used Xilisoft Video converter to change the files to an iMovie compatible format but the time/date stamp changes to the conversion date. Anyway around that bc I want the original metadata. I plan to use the time/date title block for the movie and without the correct metadata it's essesntially useless. Any work arounds or idea's? Thanks for any help.

  • How to save videos from video app to camera roll

i need to make a youtube video, but my videos are in the Videos app, how do i send them to camera roll to edit on imovie. thanks!

Photostream, as the name suggests, is for photos and video files are not compatible. You can import the videos to a computer per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 -  and sync them back form iTunes to the phone, The inability to e-mail the videos is probably an attachment file size limit imposed by the e-mail provider.

  • Trying to get my air video app and my airport extreme router to work.

Hi there. I am getting really frustrated and desperate. I just purchased the app "air video" on my iPad. Installed the software on my mac. Works awesome when I'm on MY WIRELESS NETWORK. I didn't think it would be an issue once I left the house and tried to go on someone else's network to connect, but it just won't work. It keeps giving me the error "host not reachable". I tried opening up the air video troubleshooting info and tried everything but nothing seems to work. I tried under the "remote" tab in the air video server preferences. I clicked both "enable access from Internet" and the "auto map port" options. In the box below I just see the word status and the spinning wheel along with "looking for UPnP or NAT-PMP compatible devices" but the wheel has been spinning for about 15 mins. It doesnt appear to be finding anything.
I've also clicked off the "auto map port" to see if that would do anything. I got the pin and tried that. Still nothing. I tried to look for some information on port forwarding for my airport extreme but everything I'm googleing seems to be years out of date.
I am currently on Mac snow leopard 10.6.3 I believe. Everything is latest version. Using comcast modem with apple airport extreme router. Latest version of Air video app and software. On iOS 4.3.1.
Anyone that can try to help me out, I would be eternally grateful.
    Thank you so much
    Keith

  • Imac 24 inch compatible video cards

What are compatible video cards to update to? I want to use imovie 10. But it needs something from this list
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4664?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
From what we know, your 24-inch iMac has got a replaceable GPU, so you can replace it if you want, and users say it can be replaced by a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS, which is supported by iMovie 10.0.
Apple won't help you do that, so you have to get the GPU yourself and install it yourself

  • IPad Video App- Titles Not Displaying

Hello.. I've synced some movies to my iPad and in the Video app, the Movies used to have names underneath the cover art. For some reason, it's not being displayed. I don't know why this is happening. This did start after I signed up with iTunes Match. The Music Videos that I have show the title and have a cloud next to it. Don't know if this is related.
I also restarted the iPad and when I launched the Video App, as it loaded, I noticed the white text before the thumnails loaded, covering the text with the cover art. Very odd. These are iTunes cover art, so something is definitely wrong.
The movies I transferred that I created in iMovie, do show the title since the thumnails/cover art are much more of a square and then you can see it.

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPad: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPad.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • Supported containers for Videos app ? mkv ? ogm ?

    Hello,
the "Videos" app only shows .mp4 files (those from my previous andro phone on the SD) ,it does not list .mkv or .ogm files i added via usb storage
The phone is the Zte Open C, FFOS 1.3.0.x (20140519) (localized in french, bought from zte ebay)
    1) I understand only part of the brazilian ticket below, but does Mozilla plan to add mkv or ogm compatibility to the Firefox Video App ? Or other containers ? What about formats of contents inside containers (x264 ? Xvid ? aac ?)
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/982536?esab=a&s=video&r=3&as=s
    2) Are FFOS apps limited to the formats/containers listed in https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Supported_media_formats#Browser_compatibility ?
If FFOS apps are limited to these formats, can Mozilla extend the number of compatible formats for FFOS ? And is it planned ? In the design for webapps, i don't have the impression that a developer (except mozilla ?) can implement a port of a C/C++ app like VLC or mplayer to FFOS ?
I know it's a hard question, but having a phone device that can also be used as a video media player and play any video format is useful, and the less recoding/remuxing the better.

    Hi potf,
I was finally able to track down specific details of formats, containers, and codecs that are playable in Firefox OS. This information is also applicable for Firefox browser, and Firefox for Android.
These are the file formats that are recognizable by Firefox OS ([http://dxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/toolkit/content/devicestorage.properties reference]):
    * '''pictures'''=*.jpe; *.jpg; *.jpeg; *.gif; *.png; *.bmp;
    * '''music'''=*.mp3; *.oga; *.ogg; *.m4a; *.m4b; *.m4p; *.m4r; *.3gp; *.mp4; *.m3u; *.pls; *.opus; *.amr; *.wav; *.lcka;
    * '''videos'''=*.mp4; *.mpeg; *.mpg; *.ogv; *.ogx; *.webm; *.3gp; *.3g2; *.ogg; *.m4v;
Regarding the codecs and containers that are playable in Firefox OS, Firefox currently supports the following media formats where the decoding support is built into the browser ([http://bluishcoder.co.nz/2013/08/21/html-media-support-in-firefox.html reference]):
    * '''Opus''' audio in an Ogg container on all platforms.
    * '''Vorbis''' audio in an Ogg or WebM container on all platforms.
    * '''Theora''' video in an Ogg container on all platforms.
    * '''VP8''' video in a WebM container on all platforms.
    * '''WAV''' audio on all platforms.
Support for the following formats in Firefox uses operating system decoder support. This means coverage is not available across all platforms. We are working towards this goal:
    * '''H.264''' video in an MP4 container on Firefox OS, some Android devices, and Desktop on Windows Vista and up.
    * '''AAC''' audio in an MP4 container on Firefox OS, some Android devices, and Desktop on Windows Vista and up.
    * '''MP3''' audio in MP3 files on Firefox OS, some Android devices and Desktop on Windows Vista and up. Support for Windows XP is coming in Firefox 26.
We hope you find this information useful. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
    Thanks,
    - Ralph

  • Synching with Videos App does not work correctly

Got a couple of problems. I'm trying to get some mp4 movies onto the Videos App's library. There is a similar problem with synching the iTunes University content.
I added the mp4 movies to my iTunes library, synched them eith my iPad. They show up in the Films section of the iPad directories, but I can't get to them on the iPad itself.
iTunes also shows that 65 files have been copied to the iTunes University section on the iPad, but only 1 file is available on the iPad itself.
PLEASE has anyone got an idea what's going on, what I'm doing wrong?
Oh, btw, I can copy the mp4 files over by sharing with wth iFiles App and then watch them on there so I believe they must be compatible....

    Try this:
    • Turn the iPad off and on again (hold the sleep/wake button for about 3 seconds until a red slider appears with the label "slide to power off")
    • If it din't help, try a hard reset - hold the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously for about 6 seconds, until the iPad tunes off. Then turn it on again.
    • Go to "Settings - General - Reset" and choose "Reset All Settings"
    • If it does not help, restore the firmware with iTunes - IMPORTANT, don't let iTunes use one of your backups… set it up as a new device.

  • Videos not saved in the Video app

My videos got saved in the Photos app under Albums:all imported/last imported/saved photo.
Videos from SD Card are saved in ...imported
Videos as email attachment are saved in... Saved photos
Why are videos saved in the Photo app and not in the Video app and how do I save them in the video app?
By tweaking some preferences settings somewhere?

All saved images and videos are saved into the photos app... The only way to get them into the videos app is through the computer...
I have a suspicion that it is done this way so that photos handles all the importing/saving aside from iTunes... It simplifies the location of a full import from a camera, otherwise, the iPad would have to decide if the video is compatible and then decide on the app rather than a simple one stop shop...

The episodes of the tv shows that I purchase from itunes, these episodes does not appear in order inside the video app of ios7, and somtimes the single season episodes appear in separate folders

Where are these settings provided by Blackberry? When I look up Luxcam I see IP cameras that are compatible with Android and iOS. The Android app might work but there's no guarantee.
