IMP: 00033 while importing

I have done a full export on my source database. The log file shows all tables and rows exported. But when I perform the import on the destination database, I get the following errors IMP:00009 and IMP:00033:
IMP-00009: abnormal end of export file
IMP-00033: Warning: Table "STOCK_PRICE" not found in export file
I am importing from user A to user B, using following command:
imp system/<pwd> file=exp_full.dmp log=exp_full.log fromuser=A touser=B tables=STOCK_PRICE
I have done a check sum on the dump file (since i copied it from 1st server over to 2nd) and they match.
Please let me know if I can resolve this in any way.

Hi
follow the conventions
There are three possible solutions:
1. Put username between single quotes
2. Put a \ symbol before the $ symbol.
3. Use a parameter file
Example:
imp system/manager file=expdat.dmp fromuser='OPS$USER1' touser='OPS$USER2'
imp system/manager file=expdat.dmp fromuser=OPS\$USER1 touser=OPS\$USER2
imp parfile=<file_name>
where <file_name> contains :
userid=system/manager file=expdat.dmp fromuser=OPS$USER1 touser=OPS$USER2

  • Issue with triggers while importing (imp) to another user

    hi all,
we have two oracle databases (oracle 10g R2)
    1. production
    2. test (clone of production)
whenever we need to update the test database for the developers we take a full export dump of the production (hardly 20GB) and import the same into test after dropping the tables in the required schema
    export system/***@production file=exp.dmp log=log.log full=y statistics=nonewe have a schema named user1, in production.
same is the case in test
I got a request to refresh the user1 schema in test, but with a different schema user2 (new schema created), as there was some critical dev. work going on with user1 schema.
hence i didnt want to touch the user1 schema in test environment & after taking an export dump of the production i didnt import it into the same schema.
i imported the dump data to user 2 schema
imp system/***@test file=exp.dmp log=implog.log fromuser=user1 touser=user2 statistics=nonethe moment i did this developers working with user1 schema started facing issues when their code hit triggers on user1 schema. all insert/update triggers in the user1 schema started pointing to corresponding tables in user2.
any clues why something like this happened? what was the mistake in he imp command i used?
    thanks for your time

    Hi,
Check for the trigger source in your original schema. If it has schema name mentioned before the tables on which the trigger is created, it would create problem during import. While importing, it will reference the previous schema , though you are importing it in new schema.
If this is the case, remove the schema name from the source and then export and re import.

  • Error while importing a container dump file

    Hi,
I am trying to import a container from one Oracle Server to another server which are located at two different locations. I have exported the container from the first server and FTPed it to the second server and tried to import the same into the second server. While doing this, i got the following message:

    Import terminated successfully with warnings.
I am able to import the same dump file into another server located in the same location as the Server One without any issues.
One thing that i have observed is: On the Server 2, if a container is already present and the XTSYS_ tables are already populated, when i tried to import this dump file, it asked me "Temporary tables are already populated. Do you want to overwrite them. Otherwise the existing temporaty tables will be used for this purpose". If i clicked No, then it imported the container without any problems, BUT, the new container contents are not the same as found on Server 1's container contents.
Can somebody suggest what could be the problem and how can i import that dump file.
    thanks a lot in advance
    regards,
    Vijay

    Vijay,
There is a note <Note:160378.1> on the Oracle Support site: http://metalink.oracle.com.
There are a number of possibilities, the most likely of these is that you are using the wrong import/export utilities for an older or newer database version.
You don't mention which release of Designer you are using, Designer 9i uses the 9.0.1 export/import utilities by default. You cannot use the 9.0.1 export/import utilities against an 8.1.7 database.
If not already installed, install the 8.1.7 export/import utilities from the Oracle 8i Release 3 (8.1.7) Client Cd into a new Oracle Home.
    In the Registry, change [hklm]\software\oracle\HOMEx\repos61\EXECUTE_EXPORT
and EXECUTE_IMPORT to point to the 8.1.7 export/import utitilites.
(HOMEx corresponds to your Designer 9i Oracle Home)
A typical value for them would be:
    EXECUTE_EXPORT=d:\des_817\bin\exp.exe
    EXECUTE_IMPORT=d:\des_817\bin\imp.exe
    or
    EXECUTE_EXPORT=d:\V817\bin\exp.exe
    EXECUTE_IMPORT=d:\V817\bin\imp.exe
After changing the parameters in the Registry, verify if they are active by going into the Repository Administration Utility, Check Requirements,
Parameter Settings and look for EXECUTE_EXPORT and EXECUTE_IMPORT.

    Sue

    Hi,
it is not astonishing that the error occurs every time you try this create table statement.
A table with this name already exists. And error -955 tells us exactly this.
    What to do?
As I do not know if there is data in this table and/or if there are views / other database objects
using this table, I cannot decide, if dropping this table would be a good idea.
But what I do not understand is, why during one (?) loading in a clean (?) database this
table is tried to create more than once. Or was the database you are loading into not clean,
fresh and empty? Then it will happen that not only this table, but some others will result in an error
    because they exist already.

If you're moving data from 10G to 9i, using EXP/IMP, I would try using the 9i EXP to create the dumpfile with data from the 10G database, and then using the 9i IMP to import that dumpfile into the 9i database.
Sounds like you have been using the 10G EXP and IMP in both cases.

    Hi,
don't mentioning why are You importing SYSTEM objects, the error that You have, just looking the message, is due to an export done without the clause CONSISTENT=Y (so all relations parent/child preserved) having the replication (the table in error is one of the replication dictionary table) active (not quisced)
Repeat the export operation using CONSISTENT=Y an stop replication activity.
    Hope this helps

  • Error while importing table having ctxcat index

    Hi
I created a table and ctxcat index on the same. I exported the same. While importing, table got imported but for index creation it gave error imp-00017 with ora-29855.
Though the index have been created but with some errors. I can see the index in all_indexes table but if i try to see the entry in dba_segments, record is not found.
Seems that index is not created properly.
    Pls suggest ASAP.
    Regards

What's your source and target Oracle version ?
    1) make sure context option is installed on target DB
    2) create a user ctxsys, the schema where the context related objects resides

    Hi Nawneet ,
I have import snapshot successfully, please make sure below points
    1. make sure all connected users, should be disconnect the owb. if any user connect the owb you will face below error
MDL1325: Metadata Loader export/import for a snapshot cannot be executed while other user(s) are accessing the OWB repository.
    2. Object name cannot be restored from snapshot , because another identically named object with in same namespace context already exists.

    Dear Ram Nath,
It may be late but it will be use full to others.
I faced similar issue and solved it by commenting the 5th line of DFACT.SQL file.
The issue was with the indexes not being generated properly to avoid such issues we must ensure to implement SAP note 1991576 in prior, if not we can comment the 5th line.
Below is the corrected file in my case
    # ORACLE : NATIVE SQL EXPORT GENERATED AT 20150426083248
#ind:  - commented line (earlier it was just 'ind: ')
    ind: /BI0/E0PPM_VC1~0
    tab: /BI0/F0PPM_VC1
Please let me know in case of queries if any.
    Regards
    Baranedharan S.

    Hi Ercument
Have you read that note on metalink:
Subject:      Bug 3772092 - Exporting with some NLS_LANG settings can produce corrupt export file
         Doc ID:      Note:3772092.8
    Error: IMP 8
Text: unrecognized statement in the export file: n %s
Cause: Unrecognized statement in export file. This could be due to
corrupted export file or Import internal bug.
Action: If the export file is corrupted, retry with a new export file.
Else report this as Import internal error
    the solution seems to be
    export NLS_LANG='AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P15'
Are you using 10.2-0.1 that quite old, is it possible to upgrade to 10.2.0.4 ?

  • ORA-01461 while importing from UTF8 to AL32UTF8

    Hello All,
    Source Env: 9i on Solaris
Dest Env: 10.2.0.3 on Solaris 10
    We have a table in a UTF8 database(9i).
While trying to import it into a AL32UTF8, it terminates with
    IMP-00058: ORACLE error 1461 encountered
ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
IMP-00028: partial import of previous table rolled back: 9170 rows rolled back The table has a column with LONG datatype.
Is this error because of the characterset conversion ?
    TIA,
    JJ

    Srini,
    I checked that already.
This table does not have LOB datatype. Only NUMBER,VARCHAR2,DATE and LONG.
Moreover, i tried with and without pre creating the table. Both ways result in this error.
    TIA,
    J J
