Impacts QaaWS Version BO 4.0

I am using Query as a Web services for development queries with BO version 3.1.
What are the impacts to migration BO 3.1 to 4.0 using Qaaws BO? How will the maintenance of queries already created in version 3.1?

the most change has been made to the integration of SAP. Like f.e.:
- Integration into SAP SolMan
- Better Performance using the BICS interface (BW 7.3 is recommended here)
- Harmonized the UI`s of all Reportingtools
- Better Integration into SAP EP
- New OLAP Analyzer "Advanced Analysis" for MS Office in BI4 and also Web Version coming with 4.1

If you start from scratch now using SAP BW as Datasource and BO for Reporting it would make sense starting direct with BW 7.3 and BI4.

    There is a risk in your scenario, different versions of Office have some common files and components, once uninstalling the trial version, it may impact your Home & Student version.
    But per my knowledge, a repair of Office will fix the possible issues quickly, and this shouldn't impact the activation status either.

  • Implications of change of Exchange Rate Type from P to M in Version in CO

    Hi SAP Experts,
    We have a requirement to change the exchange rate type in Versions. In fact, exchange rate type P has been configured in Version 0. This version is being used in Costing Variant PPC1. Price updations are being made with this costing variant. Costing Variant PPC2 is being used for internal evaluations. No price updations have been done using this costing variant.
    Client wants exchange rate type M in a new version to use in costing variant PPC2. I have created a new version X and assigned exchange rate type M in new version X. I have assigned the same version in Receiver version of Profitability Analysis and Version for indicators actual.allocations in Orders/Projects tab in T-code OKEQ. In Settings for Operating Concern, I have assigned currency type "Operating Concern currency" and exchange rate type M. Cost center activity price planning (KP26) has been done with new version X for all the cost centers.
    My question is "Will the above changes affect any Plan or Actual values of other versions existed in the system ?"
    Please let me know will there any affect on already planned data in the system with any version.

    I don't think it's going to impact other versions but you may need to do simple test for other versions. One more thing is versions are controlling area specific and the M or P rates will be applied based on value date you setup in OKEQ configuration.
    You don't need to assign the version for  'Version for ind.act.alloc.'  indicator until unless you use WBS for project planning. By default it will be assigned to zero version.

  • Auto Save and Versions not working

    Auto Save and Versions are not working in pages or numbers.  I've worked on a project for over five minutes when I "Xed" out the drop down box opened up and asked if I wanted to save.  Any ideas why?  Also, how do you open up versions?

    There is the problem with that sentiment. I don't like the loss of "save as" either. I think the new save/duplicate paradigm has more steps and is poorly implemented to boot. Yet, people complain far more about Versions and Autosave than they do about "save as"? Why on earth would anyone complain about Autosave? There is no user interface change involved with Autosave. It is entirely in the background. If you don't like Autosave, you are free to randomly delete files from your machine and from Time Machine if you want. I don't see what the point of that would be, but it would give you the same effect of not having Autosave. There is more a user impact to Versions, but it still a really cool feature. Why would you not want to have access to old versions of your document? It isn't going to eat much disk space. The last time someone complained about disk space usage by versions I calculated that it would take 38 years for them to run out of space due to Versions. If you don't want to use Versions, don't click on the Versions tools. Problem solved.
    I don't want people lumping clear losers (like no more "save as") with clear winners like Autosave and Versions.

    No, this choice only impacts the version of the Web Deployment Descriptor (web.xml).
    When you create your workspace from the Create Application wizard by selecting the "Web Application [JSF, ADF BC]" template, we suppose that you work with a J2EE 1.4 application (the current version).
    If for some reasons, you have to work with a J2EE 1.3 version, f.ex. because you have to use JSTL 1.0 (see "JSTL 1.0 in JSP 2.0 Pages" in http://blogs.oracle.com/Didier/2006/03/20#a10), then you should create your Web Project and select "Servlet 2.3\JSP 1.2 (J2EE 1.3)".
    Later, you have the option to upgrade your Deployment Descriptor to Servlet 2.4\JSP 2.0 (option in the right-click menu on the web.xml).

  • Implications of version changes of Edge Framework going forward

    Hi All,
    I am trying to understand implications of Edge framework version changes. I am new to web programming as well as adobe products.
    I understand that Adobe CDN can host Edge framework. Few questions below:
    (1) Now when a new version of of framework is released, will the previous version be still available on the CDN?
    (2) I assume that new version of the Edge framework would _not_ necessarily be backwards compatible, is this a valid assumption?
    (3) Also, if a single webpage has 2 creatives, which uses different versions of Edge Framework, is it an issue? Would there be some sort of name collision?
         If yes, any workaround/fix? Both the creatives would be inside their own IFrames.
    Please let me know if I can provide additional details.

  • Versioning Question - multiple cropping

    I am looking for a way to create a version of a file within a library where it won't impact the version that I have already created.
    So for example I have file 1
    edits - CROP(no constrait);WB;EXP;LEVELS;sharpen
    I need a 4x6 cropped version of this file with all the edits adding another crop. The issue with that is the 2nd crop that I am going to apply that is going to change the first crop that was already applied to file 1.
    The reason I need the 4x6 crop is to export that will be exported and ftp'd to print vendor for proof book.
    Any suggestions?

    Is there a way that I can take that version (cropped 4x6) and keep it separate from the main version? Like maybe storing it in smart album.
    I can't seem to find a filter option that would show only the latest version that would add only these files to the smart album.

  • Can't sign in to Folio Builder - Urgent deadline

    I keep getting the error message 'Sign in has failed [svr Unknown]'
    I am using CS5.5. I originally installed V1.01. This didn't allow me to log in so I downloaded 1.13.2. - I can't install this because I don't have OS 10.6!!
    I am operating OS 10.5.8 and cannot upgrade to 10.6 as my machine is an iMac circa 2006. OS10.6 is a system requirment for the latest version of Folio Builder it seems.
    Please can someone get back to me urgently with a solution to getting my Folio Builder to work as I have created a publication that needs to be uploaded for iPad tonight!!!

    I'm pretty sure you are out of luck if you are on OS 10.5 You can try installing the older version of the folio producer tools from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/collection.jsp?collID=4&platform=Macintosh, but that won't impact the version of folio builder panel that's installed. You have to have the latest version of the panel.
    Note that we have never supported 10.5, although in past releases it did happen to work. The system requirements at http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-publishing-suite-pro/tech-specs.html have always indicated 10.6 is the minimum.

  • Name and Address operator's packge do not have any values

    I am using the Name and Address operator, but I do not have/want the 3rd party vendor's connector/tool/data library to work with my OWB.
    I developed the map and deployed that map into my target.
    Package got generated of name NAME_ADDRESS
    In this package the entry point is the MAIN function, in the main function taking one parameter p_env.
    When I execute the Package from SQL*Plus I am getting the value of p_env, which is wrong, p_env can not be NULL/0 at any case.
    All I want is, how to pass/populate the value into p_env parameter, there will be more than one value into that parameter, param_value varchar2(30)and param_name varchar2(4000).
    But I know nothing about what are the values may be in , when I execute the package...

    Page 8-73 of the Warehouse Builder user's guide explicitly highlights the following section:
    Note: Taking advantage of the Name and Address operator requires separate licensing and additional installation steps. Refer to the Oracle9i Warehouse Builder Installation and Configuration Guide for more information.
    The functionality that does the parsing and standardization is not part of Warehouse Builder, but part of the package that the software partner brings in. If you think about that, it actually makes sense. Would you expect Warehouse Builder to contain the code to perform this action for all countries across the globe, in all different languages and the like? The data vendors, who are the experts in the different areas, know this information.
    So, if all you want to do, is parse and standardize an address, then yes, you may be better of going directly to a partner (having said that, you may get a discount if you are a Warehouse Builder customer, but that I do not know for sure).
    However, what does Warehouse Builder add:
    - Data object design (maybe your target tables don't exist) and deployment
    - ETL design and code generation
    - Process flow creation and deployment
    - Execution management (automatic logging etc)
    - Integration with Discoverer
    - Metadata management, such as impact analysis, version management, multi language support...
    - Much, much more.
    Specific to name and address (or say data quality): if you include the name and address operator on a Warehouse Builder mapping, then you can plug in any partner library you want, and in case you find out that another partner delivers better results, then go with the other partner. At the end of the day, you abstracted the implementation from the design. That makes you much more flexible in your choice of a data vendor. Besides, you get impact analysis, lineage and lots of other metadata management features for free. On top of that, if you want to identify duplicates, perform householding and the like, then there is match and merge (which yes, is part of the tool and not a third-party implementation) in order to define the rules for matching and merging.
    Again, if you don't need any of that, then perhaps you don't want the overhead of having all this and you go directly to a data vendor.

  • CSA 5.2.0225, Rule 576, and saving attachments in Outlook 2003

    We're in the process of migrating from 4.5.6139 to 5.2.0225; thus far, the migration is going extremely well - with one bizarre issue haunting my sleep.
    I started seeing this behavior about 2 weeks ago, on machines that (so far as I can determine) have not had any changes made (ie, the latest round of Windows Updates have not been applied, the machines are tightly controlled, no software has been installed). It also impacts some machines running CSA 4.5.6139.
    However, it does not impact ALL machines - only we have a couple machines that are not impacted.
    Versions of Outlook include 2000 and 2003; all machines are Windows XP Sp2, current with patches with the expcetion of August 2007 batch.
    Scenario: user opens an e-mail, and right clicks on an attachment to save it. When the common dialog control for saving as comes up, the "My Computer" icon is missing - replaced with the "blank" generic Windows icon, and CSA triggers rule 576, saying that Outlook.Exe attempted to access Explorer.Exe, and was denied.
    Additionally, the machine might display more icons as blank: for example, one of our admins has the ASA ASDM Launcher on his desktop, and that shows up with a blank icon in the save as dialog, and Rule 576 is triggered with "Outlook attempted to access ADSM.exe and was denied."
    In attempting to get a handle on this issue, I have put the entire "Untrusted Classification Content Module" into test mode, reset the agent on a test machine, and still rule 576 is triggered - which strikes me as bizarre, if I understand the triggering conditions correctly.
    Anybody have any thoughts?
    This is not a showstopper, but I'm concerned because I don't understand why this rule has started to get triggered when we have made no change to our environment.

    Not sure I quite understand.
    I'm looking at the MC, and see that "Untrusted Content Classification Module" is associated with the "Application Classification" poilcy, which is included as part of the "All Windows" group.
    I was operating under the assumption that, since it is included in this policy as part of "All Windows", this was the module responsible for doing the content classification. Indeed, if I turn on logging for some of the rules, it's pretty active - and pretty active in setting e-mail content as "untrusted".
    Rule 576, the one firing, is (according to the description), blocking access to @dynamic - dynamically quarantined files.
    My thought was that I could create exceptions so that common stuff like "excel.exe" would not be tossed into @dynamic, and hence, Outlook could access Excel.Exe, and display the appropriate icon for spreadsheets.
    But then I get all confoozled by the fact that I have some machines, with the same OS/SP/patch level, same AntiVirus, and same group membership in CSA, which do not exhibit this problem.
    (If you read closely, there's a question buried in all the above. I just can't quite get it out due to my ignorance with how CSA is working it's magic.)

  • WLW 8.1.2 Upgrade Questions

    We have been running WL 8.1 (Workshop and Server) for the past several years. Development and production run on Windows 2000/XP Pro or Windows 2003 Server.
    We want to upgrade but do not want to prevent our ability to support current production systems and do trouble shooting. Is there a general upgrade document that outlines recommended ways to accomplish this? Some specific questions that come to mind:
    1) Should we upgrade from 8.1 to 9.2? Or should we upgrade from 8.1 to 10.3? Is it even possible to skip a major release?
    2) What impact does each upgrade have on our code? Again, is this in a document already?
    3) To run two versions of WLW on one workstation, should the new version be placed in a separate base folder, i.e. C:\bea92? The current version is installed in C:\bea.
    4) When we reach a point where we no longer require version 8.1, will the uninstallation of 8.1 only impact that version?

    That sounds like a great suggestion.
    I tried, unsuccessfully, in the past to locate the upgrade to 8.1.3.
    I couldn't find it on BEA's web site and certainly can't find it on Oracle's.
    Does anyone know where to find 8.1.3, 8.1.4, 8.1.5 and/or 8.1.6?
    Is it recommended to step through all upgrades or can I go straight from 8.1.2 to 8.1.6?

    We are trying to upgrade our production servers from windows 2003 SP1 - SP2. These server have Hyperion 6.1 installed on them. I just wanted to know if this would have any impact this version of Hyperion. I personally wouldn't have thought so but I just wanted to check.

    I recently ran into trouble when upgarding one of datacenter switch Nexus 5596 does not boots up and after investigation from Cisco TAC it comes out to be Bug documented below.

    My Upgrade path of device was : 5.1(3)N1(1)  to  6.0(2)N2(5).
    Since this upgarde involves upgrade of Bios and Power sequensor, I was having some doubts to get this succesfully upgraded,  But there was more twist involved in this upgrade which I came to know after contacting Cisco TAC for my died Nexus 5596 device and got info that if you have below impacted version in your Nexus 5596 device and you are planning to do Upgrade, then you migh RUN into this serious BUG aftre which device won't come up at all and only Option left is to replace with RMA device.

    Today "upgraded" our switch (N5k-C5596UP) to from 5.1(2)N1 to 7.0(5) and after reboot no life from the switch either. Even no console response. show sprom sup | inc H/W shows 1:0.
    Only thing we could do is RMA the switch. So what must I do with these switches? Have still to do 3 of them.

    the manifest.mf file of the alsb.jar contains the required libraries (including sb-kernel-impl.jar). It would be nice if you can put this jar instead of individual jars to reduce the impact of version and the packaging changes from version to version. I prefer to have this as best practice.

  • PP CS6 Project freezing on Auto-Save and Save-As.

    I have a project that I've been using every month to solely to create titles and just yesterday a bug showed up....whenever it goes to auto-save the project, PP freezes and I have to force quit it. I tried moving the project to another location and had the same problem. I also tried  doing a save-as to create another coply of the project and that freezes PP as welll...I am however able to save the project, just not auto-save or save-as. Thoughts??
