I am using the following to filter the rows of a data pump import
impdp $IMP_ADMIN schemas=$FROMUSER remap_schema=$FROMUSER:$TARGET_SCHEMA transform=OID:N exclude=USER,GRANT dumpfile=DATAPUMP_DIR:$DUMPFILE logfile=DATAPUMP_DIR:import$TARGET_SCHEMA.log parfile=$ACCNT_PAR
$ACCNT_PAR is
query=SCHEMA.TABLE_2:"WHERE column_id > (select max(column_id)-32 from SCHEMA.TABLE_1)"
query=SCHEMA.TABLE_3:"WHERE column_id > (select max(column_id)-32 from SCHEMA.TABLE_1)"
query=SCHEMA.TABLE_4:"WHERE column_id > (select max(column_id)-32 from SCHEMA.TABLE_1)"

When the import happens before SCHEMA.TABLE_1 is imported i get
. . imported "SCHEMA"."TABLE_2" 0 MB 0 out of 391523 rows
then after the SCHEMA.TABLE_1 table is imported i get
. . imported "SCHEMA"."TABLE_3" 16.25 MB 91256 out of 175825 rows
If i seperately import the TABLE_1 table first, and then run another import. I get the results i am looking for.

Question:
Is there a way to force the query based table (TABLE_1) to be imported fisrt?
Or is there another approach i could use?

If i seperately import the TABLE_1 table first, and then run another import. I get the results i am looking for.You have a working solution.

Yes you can use QUERY parameter with IMPDP.
But the syntax may be a little bit different than with the old IMP utility:
QUERY
Default: There is no default
Purpose
Allows you to specify a query clause that filters the data that gets imported.

Export using query option

Good morning everyone,
I am currently trying to an export on a table with a where clause of value1= 1 or value1 = 2. When I do this I find the export to be extremely slow. But if I do two exports ie. one export with value1=1 and another export with value1=2 they are quite fast. Now when I do this it is done in two dmp files. Is there a way of doing two exports on the same table into one dmp file without losing any data?? Thank you in advance.

The preferred way to use the query option is to use it in the parfile, because the query option may have special characters within its values which need to be escaped and every OS has its own way of escaping those characters. So in order to make it portable and easy, create a file parfile and use that in the export command.
For example create a file myval.txt and put following query in it:
query="WHERE ORDERS_ID IN ('A1','A201','A3')"
and then use export command as:
exp system/***** tables=ORDERS_TN file=ORDERS_TN.dmp log=ORDERS_TN.log parfile=myval.txt

Sql query not using parallel option

I am working in oracle 11.2.0.2.0 .
I am trying to execute one query using parallel options but in explain plan it is not using that PX option ...

You cannot parallelize UPDATE or DELETE operations on a nonpartitioned table, or when the update only affects 1 partition in a partitioned one.

Use of QUERY option in 9iRel2 Export utility

Hi All,
Is it possible to use a query option to the export utility of the form below assuming I am exporting a table called test1:
query="(test1.col1,test1/col2) not in (select test2.col1,test2.col2 from test2)"
I am not sure if it is allowed to reference another table in the query clause, test2 in the example above....?

I don't have a 9iR2 environment with me right now but this works on 10gR2. And I have no reason to believe that it would not work in 9iR2.

I need a sample code which can export the SQL Query results directly to an excel file using checkbox option. for example
if I select checkbox1 and press a save button, then on backend SQL Query will execute and save the results in a excel file and so on.

You could refer to the suggestions shared above, and if you get any issue when using that code, you could share the code and error with us, we will focus on your code to help you.
You could separate them into multiple steps, like the following.
1. Getting the value of any control, like the textbox and combobox or even checkbox.
2. Execute method inside button click event handler.
3. Using ado.net to execuate sql query.
4. Saving data to Excel.
Then you could have a try step by step, if you get any issue, then post it in another thread with the code and error message.

Error while using selection option variable in the selection screen

Hi All,
I am facing an issue while using selection option variable in the selection screen for one of my reports.
Scenario: For the field "Region From" we need to have wild card logic () in tes selection screen, for example if we put "BE" in the selection screen for the field Region From then the query should be executed only for those "Region From" values which begin from "BE".
Approach: For the above requirement I have made a selection option variable for "Region From". This allows use wild card
But when the report is executed we get the following error:
"System error in program CL_RSR_REQUEST. Invalid filter on ETVRGNFR".
(ETVRGNFR is technical name of the info object Region From)
Though the report is executed it displays all the values for the field "Region From" irrespective of the selection given in the selection screen.
Please give suggestions / alternate solutions to crack this issue.

Try to use a variable of type Customer Exit and do the validation inside the exit to display according to your request.
This is just my view, i am not sure if u are already using this or Char. Variable.

Receiver SOAP Adapter Use Query String

Hello everybody,
I want to include in my Receiver SOAP Adapter the message id as part of the URL String, but I need to include only the MessageId value, if I use the Use Encoded Headers and Use Query String options it includes all the header fields as part of the URL, is there a way to define only the fields that I need?, thanks in advance.

Someone please enlighten me on the use of options in aggregates:-
1) "propose query defination"

3) "propose from bw statistics (tables")
4) "propose from last navigation"

Sending E-mail from BI Publisher without using Bursting Option

“While clicking on Send Button and selecting E-mail as Delivery option in BI Publisher for a particular Report, we want that To, CC, BCC and the Body part should get populated with the Email id’s and Static text(for Body ) from database . We know that it can be done if we use the option of Bursting but we don’t want to use bursting . Is there any way (SQL Query or API’s) where we can achieve this option of populating the email id’s and body dynamically
while clicking on the Send button on the BI Publisher Screen. Please Suggest.”

I am still a bit lost though...
It may be simply a matter of me finding Oracle 8i so I can do what I need to do.
Where can I get Orcale 8i from? Does anybody have it? The oracle site only has a version back to 9.2 I queried with a employee from Oracle University here in Australia, and he suggested asking in the forums.
Just so you know what I'm trying to do:
Data Server:
Running Aix with Oracle 7.14... actually could be 7.41 - I'll check today.
This system will not be upgraded to any later version of Orcale, because systems are in place, and core systems at our other sites have to be the same. (my project is a local one)
Web Server:
Running XP profession with IIS and using ASP (active server pages)
Currently running Oracle 10g, and ASP code connects to the local database on this machine via an ODBC connection.
At the moment, I have scripts on the Aix server that dumps data from Oracle 7.x into a .csv file.
Then, I have scripts that copy those csv files to the XP server, and they are imported to the local Oracle 10g database.
To display this data on the website, I use ASP via the odbc connection to query the local database on the XP server.
As said in my previous post, there must be an easier way to do this.
I need a local database on the XP server too, and am thinking the best way is to downgrade to 8i.
Can anybody tell me where I can get 8i to try this out? I have been trying to reasearch this for a while now without luck. Any help would be appreciated, and thanks for those who have replied so far.

Problem in reports 6i while using delimiter option.

I am facing problem in report writer while using delimiter option.
Report summary
==============
In my report I am having two queries in data model and two different repeating frame for each in layout.
These quires are called based on the user parameter. That means if user parameter is 1 then query 1 is called and the report is kick off and same for query 2 when user parameter is 2).
Problem Encountered
=================
Both these reports are running fine while using pdf option to generate report .
While using delimiter option only one of the query is able to generate report (based on which ever is created first and rest will give 0 byte file).
I have also trapped it while using messages and it is logically flowing fine.
I think report writer does not support such scenario.
please expedite on this.

Hi,
There are no such limitations with Reports. If I understand properly, you run the Report twice, in each run, you are trying to execute different query, and you generate two dilimited Reports output files? This should work fine. Try out the latest Reports 6i patch-10 for this. You can even approach Oracle Support with your testcase. FYI, with Reports 6i patch-11, a new feature "dlimited data" is introduced which will give delimited output with a data dump i.e it would not be dependent upon the Reports layout. You can probably try out this new feature also.

well I am generating single output file on each run .
the problem is somewhat funny.
I have build query2 in data model after query1.
query 1 is giving me correct output both in .PDF and delimiter version.
But query2 is giving me 0 byte file for delimiter version although in .PDF it is running fine.
When I took out query2 to another module it is running fine for both.
I hope this make sense.

"Use Query Drill" in Webi 4.1 patch 3.1 on BEx query

We are working with Webi version 4.1 and creating reports on BEx queries (BW 7.31)
Withn 6 months, BW will be migrated to HANA.
Is it possible to use the option in Webi document "Use Query Drill" on BEX queries when using BICS?
When using HANA, we would like to fetch fresh data from BEx query on HANA with every drill (up or down) step the user makes.
When on HANA, we'd like to keep Webi's microcube as little as possible.

"query drill" will only work for drill paths that have been created in a UNV or UNX universe. As BICS does not need UNV or UNX, it is not possible to leverage that setting using BICS.
