Implementation in web dynpro
is it java script or java that is used in event handling in web dynpro implementation?
where can i get some useful informtion reg that
thanks in advance
krishna chaitanya
Hi,
If you are talking about Webdynpro for JAVA,then it is java that
is used in Webdynpro and not java script.
Java script is not supported by Webdynpros.
Have a look at the Webdynpro JAVA code samples and tutorials by following
this link
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/webdynpro?rid=/library/uuid/49f2ea90-0201-0010-ce8e-de18b94aee2d
You can find sample applications regarding events.
Let me know if you require more specific information.
Webdynpro for ABAP is also introduced with netweaver 2004s edition where in ABAP is used instead of java.

Callable object - Implementing a Web Dynpro Component
Hi,
I am trying out the tutorial for implementing Web Dynpro Callable object.
I think i have missed to add some library.
Can anybody guide me for importing the correct library?
It is not able to recognise the WebDynproResourceAccessor class.
Also mention what other library i need to import for this.
<b>WebDynproResourceAccessor resourceAccessor = new WebDynproResourceAccessor(textAccessor);
StructureInfo input = techDesc.getInputStructureInfo();</b>
Regards
SatyaHi Satya,
You need to add the following DC's as used DC's to your WebDynpro DC:
caf/eu/gp/api
caf/eu/gp/api/wd
Then, you should be able to use the following code for accessing the message pool:
IWDTextAccessor textAccessor = wdComponentAPI.getTextAccessor();
GPWebDynproResourceAccessor resourceAccessor = new GPWebDynproResourceAccessor(textAccessor);

Difficulty in implementing a web dynpro application
Hi All,
this is Sangeet.I'm facing some difficulty in testing the dynpro application zz_00_bapiflight.When I test it shows that the context node does not exist.
One more thing which I wanted to know is when a view is created , it asks for a user name n PW, what is its significance. It did not show it for me in the above said application. Is it the reason ?
Please help me out n the answers will be rewarded.
Thanks,
Sangeet.Hi Sangeet,
When any view is created it does not ask for username and password.
Which system are you using? Web dynpro ABAP can only work on ECC6.0
onwards and it requires WAS 7.0 to run the application.
Also when you run the application you need to check whether all settings are
done or not. If you have not created any context node then please create it as
per your requirement. Also check whether everything is active or not.
To follow the complete procedure,
You can start with tutorials and all. There are around six tutorials in SDN library.

Implementing a Web Dynpro Java Callable Object in GP using a R/3 Model
Hi to all,
my scenario is that I have to Implement a WD Java Callable Object (as descripted in this example https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e3f07a7a-0601-0010-ebbd-b9cfb445b814) but I want to get datas from an R/3 system with a RFC Model.
I tried but I have some problems how to use the model itself. Can someone help me, please?
I'm using NWDS 7.0.

AntonioHi,
I thin k u have imported the RFC Model into the Workspace .
Declare the usage of model in the component .
then do model binding between the component controller and the Model Nodes.and finally the model binding with the component Controller and the View .
in the Doinit method of the component Controller ,
create the instance of the model and excecute the model.
and finally invalidate the Response node of the Model.
For further pleasde verify the link.

Error - Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions
Dear All,
we are trying to implement a web dynpro application with accessing ABAP functions.
Previous tasks:
- insert the ABAP system into the SLD from the NWDI System (Transaction RZ70; the ABAP system is correctly insert into the SLD => technical systems)
- equipped the JCO connections with the web dynpro content manager (ping and test = OK)
Its the standard tutorial out of the SDN called Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions.
Some hints:
- There are no errors after the implementation and the rebuild of the project in the NWDS
- The auto deployment works fine to the development runtime system. The application is shown in the Web Dynpro content manager
- The In the build log I found these entries:

Regards,
VibhaHi Romain,
I am still working on the issue. But here are my findings. I am stuck up with Basis team to deploy the missing Jar files.
I had created a GP webdynpro application in EP7 SP6. When we moved to SP11, I copied the same application from SP6 track to SP11 track. Then I got the error upon deployment. Now the catch here is the way GP related Interfaces and classes are used in SP7 and above.
The changes can be summarized as follows:
1. You need to reference to DC caf/eu/gp/api but instead of using the Public Part
default you need to use Public Part external
2. All published Interfaces now start with the prefix IGP
3. All published Classes now start with the prefix GP
Please go through the document "Implementing a Web Dynpro Callable Object which Implements the GP Interface" on SDN.
For illegal dependency issue, if the DC has already been added then you get this error. If required, remove the used DC and add it again.
Also ensure that the DCs that you are adding as Used DC in your application are deployed on the J2EE engine. If not deploy them through SDM.
My development configuration contains the following DCs:
- caf/eu/gp/api(PP - External)
- caf/eu/gp/api/wd(PP - GPWebDynproCO)
- com.sap.exception
- com.sap.security.api.sda
- tc/logging
Hope this solves your issue.

Web Dynpro as Callable object in GP using PDF Forms
Hi All,
I somehow want to integrate a user filling out a pdf form within a Guided Procedure. So far I have created a local web dynpro DC and I want to make it a Web Dynpro Callable Object (GP Interface). The problem is, I want the user to be able to see the PDF form when filling out the form. For example, if they had a role in the portal where they can invoke the Web Dynpro application with the pdf form, then when they click submit on the pdf they invoke the guided procedure...is this possible? This is so, I can use the web dynpro to do some data validation and call some bapis to get info, then submit this all to the GP. Is this achievable? I know how to do most things, I just want to know things like when is the "execute" and "getDescription" methods called? I want my execute( com.sap.caf.eu.gp.co.api.IGPExecutionContext executionContext ) method to call a bapi also. Is that possible? How do I automate a GP process when I click submit on the pdf form?
Thanks in advanced
TMHi,
You can integrate a PDF control in a Web Dynpro view. Refer the following links for that:

You can start a GP process using the public API:

Also you can start a GP process using Web Service:

Refering the above links you'll get a fairly good idea how to integrate Adobe forms in WDP and how to start GP process programitically. My suggestion for your requirement would be if always you need to start the process after the user submits the Adobe form, then consider having the Adobe form as the first step for the process. In that case you don't need to start the process programitically. Whenever the user starts filling up the Adobe form the GP process will start. You can refer <a href="/people/dipankar.saha3/blog/2007/03/02/how-to-present-your-gp-processes-to-the-end-user">this blog</a> on how to start a GP process as an iview link in portal.
Otherwise if based on certain conditions you need to start the process then you can either use the Java API or the web service to start the process from Web Dynpro. You should have the Adobe form embedded in Web Dynpro and on submit event you can check the conditions and start the process if required.

Required dependencies for Web Dynpro Application accessing KM
Hi all,
I need to implement a Web Dynpro application that access km documents (NW 2004s). But i'm having problems to find one required api. I read several tutorials acording to which I need the EP5 user api (com.sap.security.api.ep5.jar).
The problem is that the application I need to make has to be a development component in NWDI (not a plain proyect).
What I need to know is which Siftware Component dependencies I should add to my siftware component in order to be able to access the EP5 user api.
I found the SC required for KM api is KMC-CM, but this doesnot include the EP5 user api.
Any ideas ?

Search help in web dynpro Java i-view
Hi experts!!
I am new to EP so i need some help..
I am trying to implement some web dynpro i-views and i would like to know if there is any way to have F4 search help for fields in form template that correspond to R/3 fields. In other words i want to take the search help values from the R/3.
Should i create a model to call a BAPI for search help??? Or is there any other way?????
Thanx in advance...!!!
PS: will reward points to usefull answers.Hi You can create Value Help in Webdynpro to show F4 Help values.

Hi,
I'm trying to implement a web dynpro abap with a smartform.
I used the "How to Display a Smartform as PDF document in Web Dynpro for ABAP" document that e can find on sdn.
My problem is that when the form is called, there is a dump
"Please maintain an output device in your user master data. ".
I copied the code in a report and the form is displayed.
Did I miss something?
Kr
KarimThis workaround solution for smartForms sends the output to the Spool and then converts the spool to PDF. For it to work it has to have a printer id for the formatting to the spool. You must maintain a default printer in your user ID or pass in a printer into the output settings of the smartForms function module. Because all of this is occuring in the background, the smartForms function modules can't just popup a dialog asking for a printer.

If you want to update with ajax a web dynpro application, you can not do this In CE 7.1 or earlier (I really don't know about 7.11). You can do this for example with a portal application, if it isn't something specific for the wd application you can move it outside and place it somewhere with your wd application, some playing with the pages will do this work.
You can do another thing: place a portal application, which will be invisible and will call some web service via ajax and use portal eventing to "inform" your we dynpro application. But in this case when you receive the event it will behave like the timer trigger, it will redraw you page. -
Web Dynpro Callable Object : use of RFCs
Hi All,
I've to create a callable object using Web dynpro.
In this web dynpro to display a table data populated by calling RFC and we need to select one row of the table and sent it as output parameter.
My question is how we gonna set the getDescription Method in this case for creating the Callable Object?
How we define the execute Method in the Interface Controller.
Where I should bind the Model to Controller (Component Controller / Interface Controller)
Can someone explain how we gonna use RFC in Web dynpro while calling it as Callable Object.
Thanks
SrikantHi,
You need to have the SCs for local development of Web Dynpro callable object.
Refer the following documents for more details:

I've made a skeleton of Web Dynpro DC, as was told in "Implementing a Web Dynpro CO which Implements the GP Interface" (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50d74ada-0c01-0010-07a8-8c118d408e59), though I couldn't fulfill the step 9, as SLD is not configured in our environment - I've made a Local DC.
So, I've built a skeleton of the DC (all steps 1-16), then deployed it - as it is told in steps 47 & 48, to try if this works at least. DC was successfully deployed. But in the list of WD DCs, which are shown in step 50, my new DC is not shown!! Though, it is shown in the list of deployed Web Dynpros in portal.
What's the problem? There're no errors outputted during build process. I thought that problem is due to step 9, where I've created a Local DC, not Inactive one. But if it the DC would be truly local, NWDS won't be able to deploy it to portal - am I right? My another version is - in steps 17-46 there's something crucial to do to make DC appear in the list of Web Dynpro Components with GP interface.
I have SAP AS 7.07 and NW 2004s SP7.
Thanx in advance! The difference between local DC and DC under a SC has nothing to do with the possibility to deploy it. Local DCs also can be deployed.
Have you implemented the GP interface correctly? My suggestion is to follow the tutorial step-by-step.
Regards,
Christophe
